Secrets from Asia’s Most Mysterious Country 🇧🇹

Transcription

Greetings friends! Welcome to Bhutan, one of Asia's most mysterious and least visited countries. You probably don't know much about Bhutan because not many people come here. They don't make it easy; the tourist pass is very expensive and extremely prohibitive, and they try to stay closed off to the entire outside world. They didn't even allow tourists until 1975, and they didn't allow television until the year 1999. I mean, they are just in their own world over here. So, I'm really excited to see what's going on. They're really obsessed with this; they have a lot of fertility temples. We're going to go check those out, and yeah, I'm just excited for four days in Bhutan to see what's going on.

Dude, even the conveyor belt for the luggage is gorgeous! Natural beauty—we got rivers, we got forests, temples. Oh my goodness! I feel like I'm in a museum, like a storybook. What the heck, this is incredible!

Hello, sir! Welcome to Bhutan. Thank you, sir! How was the flight?

Hi, it was perfect! Very beautiful.

Welcome to Bhutan!

Oh, thank you! What's this for?

This is a welcome scarf.

Okay, thank you so much! Wow! How do you say thank you in your language?

Khadela.

Khadela? Yeah, you're meant to have a tour guide pretty much the whole time you're here. We're going to get like two days without these guys on our own, but pretty much everything else is going to be with them. Hopefully, they're cool.

What does the scarf mean?

This is just a pleasure of welcoming you here to our country.

Oh, okay! So we call it "Aada."

Aada, yeah.

Okay, it's beautiful! The air is so clean here. We had a connection in India; the air was so dirty, but here it's so clean!

Yeah, so you can feel the difference between...

Oh yeah, definitely!

Thank you, sir!

Okay, like a Buddhist utopia. So, the motorcycle I can get like tomorrow or three maybe when you come back here. So, you can give... it's a good bike; it's a really huge and tall one. It's especially made for you people, not for you people.

Oh, being waited on hand and foot—beautiful!

Oh my gosh, Bhutan is carbon negative, right? You take away more carbon, you capture it than you make. That's incredible! How do you do it?

Even our constitution mandates that 60% of forest cover should be maintained at all times to come. And there's no stoplights in Bhutan.

Right, the population itself is only, let's say, 700,000. There's not one traffic light in the whole country?

No, we don't have...

What's that? Is that the electric car charging?

Yes, we're in the middle of the countryside, and there's an electric charging point.

That's incredible! In the US, this is like advanced technology, but here it's like there's nothing—no development—but an electric charging station. It's like they really actually care about the environment. It's amazing! And you said the government helps pay for them?

They will give you the loan if it is an electric car; then 70% will be provided by the government, but you have to repay monthly installments.

Oh, pay it back?

Yeah, and it pays off. It's gorgeous! I mean, it's idyllic; it's a perfect landscape.

Wow, it's amazing! It's like they have all these progressive initiatives that you would imagine like Singapore or Japan or someone having, but no, it's like this country landscape, but they have these really forward-thinking climate initiatives. It's really incredible!

Oh, a Buddhist monastery!

Oh wow, so cute! A little mix-up crib—seven months old.

So cute! What's her name?

Jo.

Okay, wow! All right, bye-bye, Jo!

Oh, do people smoke cigarettes or do they like betel nut here?

Yes, betel is common here in our country.

Really? Maybe we can try betel!

Of course! Why not? And you see me? I have met with some doctors, and they say if you consume betel nuts after food, it is good for digestion.

Oh, there's a toilet!

Oh, perfect! A little more of a local look at Bhutanese culture. Everyone does seem very happy here.

Yeah, they say it's one of the happiest countries. They measure the nation's wealth in the amount of happiness, so they have gross national happiness instead of gross national product. Very Buddhist thing to do!

All right, we're making a betel nut stop in the Himalayas!

All right, when you're in Rome, you have to be like a Roman. When you're here in Bhutan, you have to be like a Bhutanese!

Yes, sir! We need the betel nut; we have to have it, man! Last time I had betel was probably two years ago in Myanmar with the homie Dan.

Oh, they come in pre-packaged?

Well, that's a lot!

Yeah, well, that's like five or six.

Dang! What's this part?

So this is a coconut.

Coconut? Ooh, that sounds good!

Hello! Hello! Is betel nut popular here?

Oh yes, yes!

Yeah, yeah, betel nut, you know, like...

Oh, I see the spit!

Yeah, I see it now!

Yeah, oh, it's red! Is that the paste?

It's red, yeah, it's a paste. There you go!

Oh, a whole nut!

Okay, yeah, so you can just break it in half with my teeth?

Yes!

No, no swallow, right?

You can swallow!

Yes, I do!

Okay, let's give it a shot!

It's yummy!

Yeah, let's go!

All right, we'll see what happens. Betel nut in the car on these mountain roads—probably a bad idea!

I'm chewing, chewing gum!

I'm chewing Himalayan chewing gum!

Yes, Himalayan chewing gum!

That's bad! My mouth is like going numb! It doesn't burn like the Indian betel nut!

All right, we just made it to the biggest city in all of Bhutan! Can't you tell?

Guys, these are the biggest buildings in Bhutan, right? Someone on the plane told me that the biggest buildings are like six stories tall—the tallest buildings in Bhutan!

Oh yes, yes! So these are the biggest buildings in the whole country, and we made it to the big city of Thimphu!

All these buildings are so incredibly unique! It's almost like Korean or Chinese temples or something.

All good?

All good! How are you?

Good, good! You have a beautiful city!

No?

Yeah, yeah! Thank you!

Thank you! The air is very clean!

First time?

First time in Bhutan!

Yeah, it's a lovely country! Very beautiful!

Thank you!

Yeah, nice weather too! How long you be here?

Just four days!

Yeah, the visa is so expensive!

Nice to meet you, sir!

Nice to meet you!

Okay, take care, brother!

Oh perfect! They have dolls and bags! Excellent! We love dolls and bags!

Oh, sorry, sir!

Check it out, guys! For all my Americans, this is what a city looks like without homeless people, without drugs! Imagine a world, guys!

Are you sad, alone, and depressed this holiday season? Hi, I'm Connor, and here at Small Brained American, we believe that merchandise can solve all problems of the heart! That's why we're introducing not one, not two, but three custom new designs for this upcoming holiday season!

Like Small Brain, Big Or, this new Waffle House-inspired tee—a true instant classic! And for this next design, we teamed up with BRGA, an Australian-based artist, to create our own custom character. You might have seen him at the end of some of our videos, but we're bringing him to life this holiday season with a brand new custom design! Isn't he just so cute and fun?

Life got you down? Look no further than the Small Brained American Store to fill that empty void in your soul today!

Got the betel spit!

Oh yeah, so this is Center Thimphu!

Yes, wow! So this is the most busy area in the whole country!

Wow, there it is—the fabled traffic cops of Bhutan! Absolutely incredible! Zero traffic lights in the entire country!

Feel like in the US, that's how you know you're in the middle of nowhere! And in Thimphu, we're in the main city center, and they have no traffic lights!

This loyal man serving his country so nobly—that's really cool!

Doesn't take much!

JMU as a Small Brained American!

And all the buildings are this interesting architecture—is that like traditional Bhutanese?

Yes, so even when you construct the buildings and all, we have to have the Buddhist culture with the paintings, wood carvings, and all. There should be some sort of this architecture for every building.

They have to have the Bhutanese architecture?

Wow! Is that to keep the foreign influence out of Bhutan?

Not exactly, but it is just kind of like sustaining our culture and tradition.

Yeah, and it's not like an unwelcoming thing; it's not like you don't want foreigners. It's just you want to preserve the culture that exists already.

Yeah, and it makes it feel really unique and special!

You might have heard about the Gross National Happiness?

Yeah, so in that Gross National Happiness, we have four pillars. The preservation and the promotion of culture is one pillar out of four pillars.

And do you feel like people are really happy in Bhutan?

Of course we are!

Yeah, we are! Gross National Happiness is more important than Gross Domestic Product!

Mhm!

So we don't go for Gross Domestic Product; instead, we go for happiness!

Mhm! But that doesn't mean that we don't want any development!

Mhm! In the countries, of course we do, but it has to go hand in hand with the spiritualistic as well as the materialistic. Having a materialistic life cannot attain you the happiness!

So this is the AY!

So yeah, speaking of consumerism, we need to...

So the restaurant's in one of the tallest buildings in Bhutan! I think it's six stories! We're going into a skyscraper—the Empire State Building of Bhutan!

Second floor, got an extremely posh restaurant!

Is it potato with cheese?

Oh, it's a local dish! A little bit spicy!

That's really nice!

It's Lhotse—just a pile of chilies with melted cheese!

I feel a little awkward because my guide just left me, so I'm in this big empty, really nice restaurant alone. I feel kind of weird, but food's good!

I feel like I'm a boy king sitting in my lonely palace!

You're talking to a king!

Oh, he's kind of like reciting the prayers and blessings—oh, just to protect the evil eye and to get the shopkeeper good luck, good fortune!

Okay, may his business flourish!

So we got some chicken jerky from that store! It looks oddly like Jack Link's from the US! I think they've definitely ripped off their packaging!

It looks really spicy too!

Oh wow, it's like really crispy!

Oh my God, it's covered in chilies!

So all these stupas here are made to commemorate a victory over the Indian insurgency. The Indians invaded poor little Bhutan up here, and they've commemorated beating them in battle!

So this one goes out to you, India!

What are all the flags for?

For the well-being of the people!

Was suffering in the samsara world. Once you die, you cannot go directly to heaven, so you will be in the intermediate state to show them a path.

We just hang the prayer flags for the benefit of that!

Okay, jeez dude! Bhutan is one of the most stunning countries I've ever seen!

Oh my God, the vivid colors, gorgeous weather—this is God's country!

Hello! Very beautiful! Are you from here?

Oh, nice! You're very lucky! I'm from the United States!

Welcome to Bhutan!

Thank you very much! It's a beautiful country!

But Bhutan opened...

Oh, did it come on time?

Thank you! But Bhutan opened for tourists in what, the '70s?

1974!

Oh yeah, before that, there were no tourists?

No tourists!

Has there been a change in the country since then?

Oh yes, a lot! A lot!

Yes, like outside influence? You can feel like maybe the foreigners are affecting the culture?

Or we don't, you know, like go in the proper channel, then it might... we have to preserve our own culture and traditions, right?

You don't let the foreigners change the country!

We have only the culture and traditions that separate us from the outside world!

Right? I don't know, McDonald's would look really good right there!

Was there a landslide here?

Yeah, sure!

Oh my gosh, it looks like it happened like recently!

Yeah, the road's all blocked!

Holy... whoa, dude! So beautiful!

Oh my God! Later, once you get into your room, you'll be mesmerized to see a flowing river down there!

This is insane! Bhutan is paradise!

This is crazy! No way, dude!

Whoa, this is gnarly! So this river comes down from the Himalayas?

Oh yeah, yeah!

Wow, that's amazing! Himalayan water!

I bet that... that's crazy! People are sleeping on Bhutan, dude!

Yeah, I mean, having the tour guide is... I'll tell you guys my thoughts on that later, but people are just sleeping on Bhutan!

It's definitely worth coming here!

Oh my God, this is like a hidden, untouched Asian paradise! It's amazing!

This is romantic! I should have brought Sarah, honestly!

Jesus, I feel weird being here alone, honestly!

Well, I have you guys!

IO! [Music]

All right, I'm being escorted to my room! VIP treatment in Bhutan!

Staying in a villa, getting escorted! I have a garden outside of my room!

There's wood stuff—it's like a cabin!

Okay, thank you!

Dude, yeah, it's like a cabin right next to the water!

No way!

Whoa, no way, dude!

Wow, decent bathroom! That is superb for developing world standards!

And I have this roaring river right next to my room! That is insane, bro!

Bhutan is crazy! I feel like I could be in like Italy or France or something!

I don't know, man! I don't know what this feels like! I guess it feels like Bhutan!

There's no one here! You can feel it! You can feel that they've tried to stave off the foreign influence for decades—literally centuries!

You can feel it! It just feels so unique and quaint!

Little fire pit for you and your homies! Have your little cult ceremonies out here! Sacrifice children right there!

Wow, it's like Camp David out here! This is crazy!

And I have it all to myself!

Thank you!

Okay, thank you!

It's totally empty in here! That's Bhutan, baby! Luxury dining for one!

I'm going to be very honest with you guys—this place is a little weird!

Like, it's so empty that I'm getting extremely personalized attention, and that makes me feel uncomfortable!

I was just serving myself at the buffet! I'm the only one in here! Again, I'm the only one eating at the buffet!

They've made all this food for me, and I'm like serving myself, and there's a woman waiting at the end with like bread, like waiting to like put it on my plate!

And I get to the end, and I'm like, "Sorry, I don't want the bread!"

And she like just walked away! It was so uncomfortable!

Like, I don't know if this is like the low season or something, but just really strange vibes here!

So I have some pretty bad food poisoning! I was up all night throwing up and other stuff! Can't keep any liquids down!

They're talking about sending me to the hospital! I don't know if I trust them to put an IV in me if their water is that dirty to knock me out like this!

Ah, well guys, say goodbye to our personal hell for the last 36 hours!

It's been tough, but honestly, what better place to have food poisoning for a day and a half? Absolutely gorgeous!

Well, today we're going to the fertility temple, guys! Finally, after a long delay and some personal turmoil, we're headed to go worship!

Oh man, we got today and tomorrow! Tomorrow we're running the motorcycle, and we're going to ride around the countryside if I don't get food poisoning again!

And you can see the sign here: "Your waste is your responsibility! Help us keep our community clean! Help the Earth rejuvenate! Say not a blaster!"

Wow, Bhutan is extremely woke! They really care about the environment here, and it really shows!

I mean, it's just pristine! It's crazy to think that India is their neighbor—one of the most polluted hellscapes on the planet—and then just right across the border, you have this beautiful, serene country!

What's this here? Why is the Indian flag with the Bhutan flag?

So this is just, you know, like the collaboration from India and Bhutan, and the main sponsors.

So India funds certain things?

Funding is done from India, yes!

Why are you so close with India?

Our first, like, third king, who is considered to be the father of Bhutan, he opened the door to the outside world, first and foremost with India. We have more relations with India!

Oh, is that an army truck?

Oh yes, it is! You can see RPGs—RPGs bodyguard!

Oh, RPG!

Oh, so why did Bhutan open to India first?

Why did... no, because we are closer, but China is right there too! I'm wondering why not!

Most of the masters migrated from India to Tibet and Tibet to Bhutan!

Oh, so whereby we also have connections!

[Music]

Especially the elderly people, you know, they come to near the monastery, they just circulate, they turn the prayer wheels!

Also, you're doing a pilgrimage?

Yes, yes!

Oh wow, cool!

All right, sir! Thank you!

[Music]

You monks!

Hello, sir! How are you?

Very good! Are you a monk here?

Oh, of course!

Oh, so you're a judge?

So there's a prayer wheel outside of the court? Is Bhutan like a religious government?

Oh yes, yes it is!

So not only in front of the court, you know, everywhere you go, in the entrance, you will see the prayer wheels!

Oh, okay!

So check it out, guys! We have the bridge between the government of Bhutan and Switzerland!

That is so ridiculous!

And then we have this gorgeous fortress looking over the bridge!

I mean, why Switzerland?

I have no idea!

You would imagine the Swiss would build a better quality bridge, but it's literally shaking and rocking and little planks of wood!

Yeah, this is a behemoth river that flows down from the Himalayas!

I think it's the same river that flowed right behind our hotel, which is just roaring with power!

Apparently, they're building a huge hydroelectric plant over there to harness the natural resources of Bhutan because they don't like fossil fuels here!

All right, it's time to get off the Switzerland death bridge!

Hello! Hi! How are you?

I'm good! How are you?

Good! Having a nice time?

Yeah, it's nice! You like Bhutan?

Yeah!

What do you like about it?

Everything!

All right, you got your beats on that?

Oh yes, I do!

Nice!

All right, we're almost to the fertility temple!

Wow! And we have a roaring phallus!

Um, very... wow!

I don't quite know what to say! I don't know what to make of that!

I'm actually speechless!

Most ornate picture of a phallus I've ever seen in my entire life!

It puts the drawings in my high school textbooks to shame!

Oh, this must be like a gift shop where they sell the phalluses!

That is divine! The nut coming out of the top like steam!

Wow, this one's like dive-bombing! It's like a comic with the tiny shriveled-up Lance Armstrong balls!

Wow, this is why we came to Bhutan, guys—to make jokes!

FAS Airlines—is this a joke?

What, bro? You can get a keychain?

A keychain?

Wow, this one's got a tiger fish on it!

Did you make these?

No, my friend, but this painting is done by my husband! He's a painter!

Oh, so your friend makes them?

Yeah, and this painting is done by my husband!

Is it like a Buddhist... what's the story behind the phallus?

Actually, we believe it will protect us from the evil eye and for more fertility!

So you go to the fertility temple if we don't have kids?

We will go there, and there's one big phallus we have to carry that, and we have to go three rounds around the temple!

You carry it on your back?

Yeah! After that, not automatically, they will be blessed!

And it works for people? They go there, and then they can have babies?

Yeah, they have babies!

So big, can I touch them?

Sure, sure!

Okay!

Oh, it looks heavy!

Not heavy! The big black one!

Very big!

Oh, can you help?

Sorry, it's too big for one hand!

Is this a Gucci or a Coach?

Coco Chanel!

This is like one of the symbols of the endless knot!

Oh, but what is that?

This is just... they make the design next!

Oh, that's a phallus!

We have got the different flavors!

This one is honey!

That one's what?

It's made from honey!

Oh, how much is this?

This one is 2,500!

And these are a little bit expensive!

Bigger ones?

So the bigger ones are more valuable?

Yeah, due to size, it's a little bit expensive!

Right, right! The bigger, the better!

Can I touch it?

Sure, sure!

This is a little smaller!

Which ones are more popular, the bigger ones or the...

Actually, this size is more popular, I think!

Right, we keep it at the door!

At the entrance of the house, you put like this at the entrance of the house?

Yeah, to protect from the evil eye!

So you put it at the entrance of the door, so you walk in and you're protected?

Protect from... yeah, we are protected from the evil!

Oh, okay, okay, okay!

Nice! Your husband's a good painter!

And we have Airlan Phallus Airlines!

Wow, we hang it!

Oh, you for your necklace?

The proportions are not quite right, but yeah, I like this one!

Well, I want protection from the evil eye!

The massive black one!

I mean, why does the biggest one have to be black, huh?

Why? Tell me that!

Big scary bastard!

Wow!

Very concerned about representation in Bhutan!

Apparently, we got all shapes and sizes!

We got the small ones!

Well, who's to say it's small?

Who's to say it's small?

I feel like it's going to attack me!

That one is oddly realistic!

It's intimidating!

Is that what it feels like to stare down the barrel of a pink hog?

Maybe my girlfriend would like these!

Okay, yeah! And if your girlfriend wears this, she is protected from every evil eye!

Oh really?

Yeah!

Why don't you wear them?

Actually, we put this...

You don't wear them?

No!

Why not?

Because I don't have one!

Only one?

Yeah!

Maybe I'll get a pink one for representation!

Small one, 150!

Okay, it's not less valuable because it's small!

It's just small!

Even though it costs 30 times less than the big black one!

But we're going to overlook that!

Can I wrap it?

Um, no, I don't need it wrapped!

Yeah, I prefer it unwrapped!

Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Um, let me just undo my ace!

I'll get it on the gold chain here!

Thank you!

Okay, perfect! Thank you so much!

Does it look good?

Yeah!

Yeah, a little pink one!

It's okay!

All right, nice! Nice! Very good!

Okay, thank you so much!

Thank you!

Okay, bye-bye!

Thank you!

Thank you!

So many to choose from!

I feel like a...

All right, I got one! Just a small pink one for protection!

Okay, thank you!

All right, so idyllic!

This is what happens when you dissuade tourists from coming for hundreds of years!

You get beautiful, untouched landscapes!

Well, there's power lines, but wow!

It's a far cry from India or Indonesia!

It's just perfect!

Whoa, another one!

This one's like graffiti!

It's like holding an AK-47!

Why is it one on his head?

It's just a tie, you know, especially the masters!

Oh, they'll just tie their head on top!

It's just also another creative... right?

Creativity of an individual!

Just art!

They're making art!

Yeah, it's art, definitely!

Why does the phallus look so angry?

That the phallus can get rid of your ill luck and bring you good fortune!

Are the bigger ones for better luck?

Yeah, so the bigger, the better for luck!

Or the size doesn't make a difference?

Oh, okay!

Size doesn't make a difference!

Just until and unless this is just a significance of the phallus that is dedicated to the Divine Madman!

So what's the story with the fertility temple?

There's a Divine Madman I keep hearing about!

So he's also the spiritual master who has an outrageous character!

So his main teaching strategy is through the wine and the girls!

Through wine?

Yeah!

That one's like a fish!

So he drinks wine?

Yeah!

What does he do with the girls?

So he just, you know, like, tries to use that girl to liberate that woman to heaven from the world!

Yeah, he's liberating the women!

Yeah, okay!

How does he liberate?

Particularly if that particular woman is afflicted with a lot of demerits!

We Buddhists believe that why we are visiting monasteries is we are just preparing ourselves for our next life!

Uh-huh!

So we believe what you are today is the product of what you were in the past, and what you are going to be in the future depends upon how you react now!

Mhm!

Okay, if you do good things right now, you will have a good life in the next life!

We truly believe in karma!

Wow!

He is crazy!

Jesus!

Hello! Hello! How are you?

There's so many paintings around!

Four to five painters!

This... oh, five painters!

Wow!

Hello! Hello!

Oh, very friendly!

Right out of the United States?

Yes, it's my first time in Bhutan!

The people are...

Yeah, the people are very nice!

Yes!

Only yourself?

Me only?

Yes!

No, guys, I have a guide! He's over there!

Yeah, nice to meet you!

Thank you!

Okay, thank you!

Thank you!

Thank you!

Thank you so much!

All right, so you do the paintings in the town of the phalluses?

Oh yes, yes!

Oh, we are from the art school!

Yes, yes!

We done six years of school—that's a certificate!

Oh wow, that's... you graduated from art school, and you guys made all these too?

Yes, sir!

That's incredible!

All done by five artists!

Five artists? That's incredible!

Oh my gosh!

I could see this in like a crystal girl's bedroom!

Not that I've been in one, but I could see it!

How much is it?

1,400 USD!

Wow, the quality is incredible!

Oh my God!

The 3D artist—you can feel it!

I can touch it!

I can touch it!

This is gold?

Yes, yes!

Oh, how much is that?

1,800!

Wow, that's amazing!

Okay, brother! Nice to meet you!

Same to you!

So there it is, guys! Vintage Cafe!

He got his Gmail on there, his phone number—he's marketing the hell out of himself!

This is the sake!

Yeah, I've had sake!

Similar?

Really?

Yeah, so this is the locally brewed wine!

Yeah, locally!

That's incredible!

It looks just like water, and it's in a water bottle, so you could fool someone getting drunk!

That's insane!

So ironically enough, I had to put on a chance to go to the fertility temple where they worship the male body part, and they don't want to see mine!

I feel offended!

All right, we have a sign here that explains everything to us, but I'm going to be a good YouTuber and pretend like I didn't see it and act like I just knew all this before!

So apparently this guy, the Divine Madman, used his phallus to destroy his enemies!

I'm not really sure—he indulged in alcohol and women, sang and danced, and used his phallus as a flaming thunderbolt weapon!

He used his phallus as a weapon?

Yes!

Oh, against who?

Evil spirits!

Oh wow!

Or the women!

So there was a demon who was terrorizing the people who were traveling from Punakha to Thimphu!

That demon used to take the life of an individual!

Okay, one day, the boy was traveling from Punakha to Thimphu, dragging an ox!

So the demon came shouting to her and another two friends, saying, "Come on, friend! Today we have got a nice feast!"

Then the Divine Madman leapt out of the tree and beat the witches with his phallus until they died!

Then he built a shrine about it!

That's the shrine we're going to right now!

Women can come here, and once you get into that monastery, we have a wooden phallus!

Okay!

Oh yeah, where she has to carry that wooden phallus and has to make three rounds!

There is a pile of names—there will be a written name of a child which you are going to be blessed!

The name of a child will be "Shimi"!

Okay!

Or sometimes "K," deriving from the name of the Divine Madman's actual name!

So luckily, my daughter is being blessed from this phallus!

Oh wow!

Yes!

So was your wife having issues with fertility, or does everyone come here, or is it just...

Everyone just, you know, like, the reason why she came here is I lost my first child!

Oh, I'm sorry!

Second, it was a miscarriage again!

Second?

Yeah!

So then third, she came to the fertility temple!

Yeah, good!

Yeah, so it worked!

Yeah, it worked!

Wow!

He has two daughters!

Yeah, wow!

So if you are lucky, we might encounter any families with a child!

So if you happen to see them, remember that they are coming here to pay homage to pay gratitude for blessing!

Wow, it's probably very, very intense emotions with that—like very grateful, I'm sure!

Ah, hello! Congratulations on your baby!

Did you go to the temple, and that's how you got the baby?

Amazing!

Wow!

So you can just ask the name of a child?

What's the name?

That's actually incredible!

Wow!

What's going on in Bhutan?

Supposed to be good luck walking around these things!

All right, we're going inside!

I have to stop filming!

As much as I was joking around earlier, that was pretty moving, honestly!

I had like a photo album of all the kids that have been born from these ceremonies—these fertility ceremonies!

I don't know, you know, I'm not really sure if I believe it 100%, but I just, you know, as much as I joke, I do want to respect other people's spirituality and stuff like that!

And you can just feel it in there—like it's a holy place!

So it's just jokes, guys! It's just jokes!

All right, guys, well that's going to be it from the old fertility temple!

Next, we're going to go to a night market, and then tomorrow we're going to be riding a motorcycle and getting in these hills!

So see you then! Have a good day!
