Starting in iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, you have even more options to sort and filter your photos to easily find what you're looking for.
Here's how it works in Photos: swipe down to view your full library. Tap the Sort and Filter button in the bottom left corner of your screen. From here, you can choose how to sort your library.
Let's tap Sort by Recently Added to organize photos by when they were added to your iPhone. Tap the Sort and Filter button again to explore the rest of the options.
Now tap Filter. You can choose how you'd like to filter your library and even select multiple options to help narrow down your search. For this example, we'll select Photos. Now it only shows photos in your library and hides the videos.
The Sort and Filter button will also turn blue and change to an icon that reflects the filter you chose. Tap Filter again to return to the previous menu.
Let's tap View Options to explore that menu. Here you can adjust how your photos appear in the library. For example, tap Aspect Ratio Grid to view your photos in their actual aspect ratio rather than a square grid.
You can tap Screenshots to show or hide the screenshots in your library. Let's tap to hide them. Now your library will show photos with no screenshots.
Tap View Options again to return to the previous menu and tap anywhere outside the menu to dismiss it.
