Tagging your Facebook post lands them on a topic page on Facebook. I'll show you an example here. I'm over on one of my business posts; you can see I got some long-form copy here. As I scroll down at the bottom here, you'll notice there's three hashtags. When I click on one of those hashtags, this is going to take me over to a topic page on Facebook. This is the #Facebook business topic page where Facebook accumulates all the different pieces of content that use this particular hashtag. This shows Facebook that my post is about Facebook business. But even more than that, if people are searching this topic, my post, you can see right now, is right at the top.
Let's go back and take a look at the other two hashtags that I used on this particular post. Here's another one called monetize social media. Let's click on it, and again, you can see that people are posting about this particular topic, and there's my post right at the top of the topic page. As a bonus, using the right hashtags tells Facebook's AI what your content is about, and that allows Facebook's discovery engine to pick up your posts and show those posts to more people. So if you're not using hashtags on your Facebook post, you got to get started.
