In the past fifty years, the wealth gap between the working class and the upper class has been growing by almost 10%. How can you not argue for some sort of wealth redistribution or taxes on the wealthy? Okay. When you talk about the gap between the rich and the poor, these are not stable groups of people. K?

People go from the bottom quintile to the top quintile and back down to the second quintile and back up and back down. The way that you solve for wealth for wealth gaps in The United States is with better income mobility, and that only comes with an opportunity economy that allows people to move forward based on their efforts, right, based on innovation, based on keeping the the wealth that they generate in and of themselves. And then finally, I don't care about the wealth gap. Mhmm. I don't care if the person at the top is earning a hundred times more than the person at the bottom.

I just care whether the person at the bottom has a better life than they did twenty years ago. And it is bewildering to me that people are so concerned about what the guy next door is doing. That's a silly way to think about life. The question is whether all ships are rising.
