[Music] What's going on, everybody? This is DK Dynamite, and it's like Christmas Eve for zombies fans—essentially a zombies eve—since we're just about, what, 14 to 15 hours away from the launch of DLC 1: Citadel de Moore. I wanted to put out a video tonight talking a little bit more about the narrative of the upcoming zombies map and give you guys a couple of theories that I would hope to see come true following the solve of the Easter egg tomorrow. Definitely stay tuned!
But before you jump into that, I just wanted to let you know that over on the Codex on Detonated, we're going to be adding every piece of the intel that does get discovered with DLC 1 as they begin to get found starting tomorrow. With that, it was also confirmed that a 22-track album is going to be dropping later this week from Citadel de Moore. There's going to be work from Brian Tui, Kevin Sherwood, and some other very talented folks. I'm really excited to see the attention that they're putting into the first DLC map. I think it's really been a while since we've gotten proper soundtracks for a round-based map, and hopefully, maybe a director's cut music video at some point. Those were great to see back in the day.
I also think it's fantastic to see just the scale that this map looks to be. The gameplay trailer was phenomenal, and the intel drop looked great. I've covered quite a bit when it comes to the content on the map, but let's talk a little bit more about the story. Now, first off, there was a little bit of controversy over on Twitter as of the last day and a half in regards to whether or not the blog post gave too much away. Now, I understand there's kind of two sides of the spectrum here. One, there's the Dead of the Night scenario where there's just no marketing at all, and they just surprise drop the map. I do think, though, that would technically work to an extent if, however, the launch and reception of the game before that would happen is all positive. In Black Ops 4's case, it wasn't. There were lots of issues with blue screening and a bunch of other problems with stability, and the reception around the chaos story also wasn't the best. So maybe dropping a surprise chaos map wasn't the best idea. Either way, though, I think that map was absolutely brilliant. I know that could be a hot take; I just like difficult maps.
But a second point to make, or the other side of the spectrum, would say, "Hey, we actually need more marketing to make sure there's more eyes on the zombie map, and more people become interested, and more people will then try the map out." So there's differing opinions on how much they should reveal for a map. As far as Citadel de Moore goes, obviously, I could just say simply don't read the blog post, don't watch the intel drop, or even avoid YouTubers' videos if you don't want to get "spoiled" too much on what the map may offer. I respect that because the mystery around zombies has always been something that really kept the community alive, which also pushed for more discussion, which has in turn made zombies that much more popular.
But the thing is, there are talented folks like Kevin Drew and even somebody like Peter, who's been working on zombies since World at War, that wouldn't deliberately want to spoil anything major through a piece of marketing. I think we know they didn't; they wanted to give us, I think, a good amount of lore to really set the tone for the map to help fans understand where they're coming from with the design. But again, I do understand folks out there that say, "Hey, you know what? Maybe that's too much information, and we should have instead learned about that through intel or during steps of the Easter egg." My rebuttal to that is I think there's going to be so much that we are going to learn while playing that the information they put in the blog was really just a little bit extra and kind of just a cherry on top to all of it.
But honestly, there are lots of cool theories going around, such as C-Effects' ties to Egypt, which we heard about in Vanguard, could possibly be connected to the creation of the Staff of Ra, which could then also tie into the Nine Order, who used the Staff of Ra. I actually made a full video about that around a week and a half ago; I'll have that linked down below. But I've also heard cool theories about how the swords could be like the artifacts or field upgrades from Vanguard, which actually have personalities tied behind them. Maybe they can talk to us; that would be cool. But as we can see from a lot of the footage, there's going to be magic, dark energy, rituals—lots of cool elements that really remind me of something that we would have seen in, like, Voyage of Despair or, hell, even World War II zombies from 2017. I'm loving the scary aspect that this map is really giving off, and honestly, it's going to fit really well into not only the Dark Aether story but also helps tie in all the deep lore that a game like Vanguard introduced.
Now, this could be a hot take, but I do think Vanguard, out of all the games, has covered the Dark Aether story, set up some of the most interesting and rich lore that I would hope to see pay off, and I think a lot of it will begin with DLC 1. Now, you know how I have this intro for my zombie-specific videos, right? Where the vial explodes and then the M turns my blue bomb to red? That's obviously inspired by the intro cinematic we got for MW3 zombies. Something that really hasn't been explained yet is what exactly is going on with that mist that kind of brings out the undead. That's something that I do believe Black Ops 6 is finally starting to explain a little bit, which obviously would make sense because Modern Warfare 3 zombies happens in the future.
Now, the theory, which I'm going to credit to Perka—check out his channel down below—he's going to be pumping out some really good zombies content over the next couple of days. Of course, he's been doing a great job analyzing every aspect of the marketing and also putting in his two cents, which I really want to shout out as much as I can here in this video. He's speculated that maybe that mist is a combination of Ethereum with Prima Materia. So if that is the case and it causes outbreaks, that would also actually tie in quite a bit to what we saw in the chaos story, where Prima Materia kind of just roamed around certain environments and was causing outbreaks. It was transforming people into zombies or other creatures. So with what we saw with Modern Warfare 3 zombies in that vial, I'd be really curious to see if, to help explain how that works, maybe Ethereum kind of blends in with that somehow, which becomes an even bigger problem.
Now, you guys are aware that in order to use Prima Materia, you do have to use an artifact, right? You have to complete a trial to then use the Sentinel artifact to manipulate Prima Materia. Prima Materia is a very powerful substance, but what if even after completing a trial while using the artifact and gaining access to Prima Materia, what if you could do more with that when you combine that with Ethereum? Now, a big point why I'm bringing this up is because a big mystery that we've been really thinking about since, I want to say, Modern Warfare 3 zombies, and now again recently with the return of Dr. Gabriel Craft, who I think would be well over like 110 years old now. He was old in Vanguard, and that was in, what, the '40s? And we're looking at a game taking place 50 years later; he's still alive. He has purple eyes, which I'm going to address again in a second. The question is, how has he remained alive? Clearly, they've used something, and hey, maybe with Renov, it's just a coincidence. Maybe he's in his 70s in Modern Warfare 3, but it's somehow just some guy high on testosterone and some other substances. Maybe it's nothing to do with, you know, Prima Materia or Ethereum, but clearly, Craft is on something, and I do feel like we're going to learn exactly what that is in Citadel de Moore, which may then get passed off to Renov, or maybe Renov takes it from Craft—who knows? Something may end up happening. We don't know if Craft is going to be the big boss or anything by the end of the main Easter egg, but I do believe a possible combination of Prima Materia and Ethereum could have something to do with being able to live longer than you're supposed to.
Now, just recently, Detonated came across an undiscovered radio in Voyage of Despair, which coincidentally talks a lot about Prima Materia. We collaborated with Mr. Doll JD; he ended up posting a banger video talking more about this radio. But as you can see over on the Codex, as the radio says, "Prima Materia is the key, the crucial, the essential ingredient to life itself—the power to create, enlighten, and enhance." That sounds exactly how Craft has been able to live this long and is likely how Renov may be able to live that long, as we saw him in Modern Warfare 3.
Now, funny enough, I know F tweeted this over on Detonated: the super Easter egg over in Cold War Zombies did allow you to go ahead and get into this animation where a mysterious god starts talking to you, and then this purple lightning kind of surges through your body. You levitate, you can spin around, and your eyes also turn purple. So I'm not saying Dr. Craft invented the color purple, which means that he would have to have been connected to whatever happened in the Cold War super Easter egg. Obviously, Cold War takes place before BO6, but what if purple is signifying, you know, some bigger threat here or some type of really interesting power that really hasn't been talked about or established yet in the Dark Aether story, which Citadel de Moore may open the door to?
Now, the color purple could signify some type of elder god or a really strong presence that we're going to end up exploring a lot more with Citadel de Moore. But this also has me thinking, right? Does Peek have another plan up his sleeve? Obviously, he's helping our crew right now, but is it possible Peek ends up seeing what kind of power exists through a combination of Ethereum and Prima Materia, or something else that gets discovered in DLC 1? Is it possible he tries taking it for himself but fails? Maybe Renov kills him and takes it, or is it possible that Peek gets greedy somehow to make up for his lost rockets and tries to do something to our crew out of anger? I mean, it's really possible, hence why the thumbnail of this video is kind of inspired by that idea. I do think Peek may be planning something, but hey, maybe he doesn't, and he ends up just working with our crew and ends up sacrificing himself at some point in the future to make up for some of the bad he's done during his time over at Omega. But I do feel like the power to live longer or to even live forever with some type of manipulative powers that may come from either Prima Materia or something else can't get into the wrong hands. And I will tell you, there's probably quite a few wrong hands that are going to try to obtain that power as we progress through the DLC season of Black Ops 6.
But another phenomenal theory Perka brought up over on Twitter was that what if the Sentinel artifacts are gods? Because, as we saw with the chaos story, each artifact was tied to a god. What if that god is actually Janus? Because, yes, in mythology—Roman mythology, to be exact—the god known as Janus is the god that represents beginnings, transitions, endings, doorways, so to speak, and he's depicted as having two faces—one looking to the future and one to the past—which perfectly fits thematically, at least, what Project Janus is all about. From Roff's eyes, he wants to bring back his family using the artifact, which would mean that he would likely have to complete a trial to then gain access to Prima Materia. But maybe that's not even enough; maybe we need Ethereum and something else to also go along with all that as a big grand scheme to complete his mission.
Now, even the artifact kind of looks like the Janus logo, as pointed out in the replies to this tweet. And what do you know? Leakers out there have claimed that a DLC map coming to BO Zombies is called "B Site." So I kind of want to assume right now that we probably don't get the artifact instead of Citadel de Moore, but Dig Site is where we're going to end up finding the artifact. But Craft is going to have a lot of the answers here in DLC 1, at least. But obviously, another big mystery is surrounding that cutscene we got for MW3, where Requiem was sitting around a table, and their essence essentially got sucked out of them. It was kind of put into vials, and our crew is just left to die. I don't think we're actually building up to that event. I do feel like Ava kind of going through that portal and ends up manipulating time to where it prevents that future from happening. But we'll get to learn throughout BO6 Zombies and the cycle that that is a possibility of what could happen and could be like a plan B in Weaver's mind, since according to MWZ, they actually don't end up saving Samantha. Maybe we just saw a scenario of what could happen in the timeline if they were to fail, and that was MWZ. But it really makes you think, right, how far the story could go now that chaos is connected. We're talking artifacts, trials, gods, Prima Materia, mythical locations, let alone what we're going to be seeing in Citadel de Moore with magic and knights and castles. I mean, there's so much potential and endless possibilities for where Treyarch could take this story, and bravo to Craig Houston for setting all that up.
I also think it would be cool if the way that we saw the Requiem crew in the MW3 cutscene, where they're just laying around that table, what if that's somehow in the same vein as to what we saw with the chaos crew at the beginning of Nine, where they inhaled that vapor and then all of a sudden they were going back in time into other bodies to go ahead and attempt to complete a mission? Imagine if we see something similar to that with the new Dark Aether narrative. But that is about it. This has been DK Dynamite. Leave your thoughts down below in the comment section. What do you want to see answered the most once the quest does get solved as of tomorrow? Leave your thoughts down below on all these theories. I really hope you've enjoyed, and peace out, everybody.
