Civilization 7 has just released, and with it are a whole bunch of combinations you can play through your games. You can pick your leader, you can pick the mementos, and you can pick the civilizations. Now, some of these combinations are more broken than others. As an example, if you've ever picked Isabella, there's a good chance you've probably paired her with the Maya because both of these just scream absolutely busted. But what if I told you there is a combination that is sitting right under our noses that is absolutely broken? A combination that guarantees, in every single game that you play, you're going to have an insane start, no matter what. That combination starts with Catherine. Every single game Catherine gets a crazy start on the condition that you pair her with one other civilization. Let's talk about exactly how to do it.
So we're going to start off by looking at Catherine and her bonuses. There's nothing here that screams crazy overpowered from the get-go. Cities settled in tundra get extra signs equal to 25% of their culture per turn. Okay, sure. Two culture per on great works, it's not bad. And buildings with great work slots gain one additional slot. Can't say I've ever needed that, uh, but what's actually broken about her is not even mentioned here. And while the cultural and scientific component of her leadership is good because it means you can get that plus six culture or that plus six science early, that's not the reason why she's broken. It's broken because of her start bias. She has a tundra start bias. She's the only leader that's got it, and that means that she is more likely to start in the tundra than any other leader, any other civilization. She will be down there.
Now you might be thinking, okay, but why is Tundra good? Why is why is it so good? And it's the reason why it's good is because of the resources that come with it. You get absolutely insane resources down in the tundra, all resources that help your production, and as we know, production is king. So let's look at this combo. Let's take a look at exactly why it's so broken. It's Groma together with uh gold and Sapphire flowers. Uh, this is going to allow you to get a lot of population in your Capital very early. Now, to actually unlock this momento, you're going to need to level up a Shoker uh to level five. And if you don't have him at level five, that's okay. You can join the Discord where we've got save files so you can really easily level him up, and then you can actually use this. You don't have to play a Sha, you can go play anybody else, but you can get that momento very quickly.
And now for the civilization, the civilization is actually the Greeks. And it's not because of their palace getting extra influence or their bonus towards the Oracle or any of this. In fact, once again, it's something that's not mentioned here. It's their start bias. The Greek start bias is that they will always have rough terrain nearby. Not always, but they should always have rough terrain nearby. So now all of a sudden we're combining this first star bias, which is going to be being down in the tundra and having crazy good production resources, together with playing as the Greeks, which is going to guarantee we've always got mines. And it means that as long as you've got four to five tiles that you can turn into mines, you are going to have an absolutely crazy start, and that is going to carry you into the mid game, into the late game, and then eventually into the exploration age. So let's dive in. We're going to go through a couple of saves, show them off, exactly how crazy they are going to be, and then we'll show what they actually look like in a game. Let's get to it.
Okay, so here's the first start that we're looking at. We start off in grassland, but that's not a problem because we can simply move over to Tundra. We've actually got one spot that's right here, and even though we're going to be off the fresh water, that's not a problem. The main thing that we're looking for here is that we've got rough, rough, rough, rough terrain that is absolutely everywhere, and it means that we can put down early mines on every single one of these, and we can combine this with our Pantheon. So if we take a look at uh Earth goddess and then scroll down to Stone, so we're going to have plus one production from mines, and then we're going to be combining that with a very special upgrade. I'm sure you know it is the plus one production on mines and Quarry. So now you've got two production coming through from each of these tiles on top of their base yields. So we've got 1, 2, 3, 4, just starting off with this, and then on top of that we can throw in the Brickyard, which comes in at Pottery, and that's going to be another four. So now you've got an extra 12. And realistically, to get a crazy start with her, you only need to have four to five rough, and that's it. So this right here, this is a wonderful start. It might not look like it, but it is crazy. Let's take a look at another one.
Okay, here is our second start. We've started off with salt, which is a mining resource, and it's on the tundra. We've also got silver, which is on the tundra. It's on a rough tile, and then we've got gypsum, which is on the tundra. It's also going to be a rough tile. So we've got mines on all of these. We've started off with another rough tile, and as long as we've got about four to five tiles that we can work in the early game, that's what's going to be enough to carry us. So this is another start. Let's take a look at the next one.
Okay, and here is our third start. And as you can see, see, we've got four resources uh these are all going to be mining or Quarry resources. Now it doesn't look like Greece's bonuses come through on this game, but we did get the tundra bonus, and that's what matters cuz then we get these high priority resources. And this is just happening every single game. That's the power of Catherine together with Greece. It is almost a guaranteed—I'm going to say almost a guaranteed cuz I think it's probably like 99% you're getting God starts and then like 1% you're going to have the one game where you spawn in tropical and you're like, what am I doing here? And it's just how it works. Anyway, let's take a look at a playthrough and see exactly how crazy this start can get.
And there it is. Now it might not look like a cracked start right now, but I promise you this is going to become absolutely amazing. And there's a couple key reasons why this is. First and foremost, when we turn our yields on, we'll be able to see that we've got rough Tundra, rough Tundra, rough Tundra absolutely everywhere, which means that we're going to be able to make mines on all of these tiles. On top of that, because we're in the tundra, we've got these crazy, absolutely crazy—why do I use that word so much?—we've got these absolutely crazy resources uh so we've got plus two production and plus two production in the cap. So let's get to it. I think we're just going to settle in place. I can already see we've got some decent locations uh and we keep it in our first ring as well uh for our science buildings. So this is going to be absolutely fine. Let's go ahead, let's settle in place and begin.
So now that we've settled in place, what we're going to do is we're going to put our Scout in the queue, and immediately we're going to spend our very first point on our expansionist tree. And what this is going to do is this is going to combo with golden Sapphire flowers, which means that we're going to get 100 foot in the capital when we spend an attribute point. And the reason why this is so broken is because this is a production start. So now that we've got that up to—we're up to our second uh our second citiz already—we're going to start growing. So we want to come out towards the gypsum. We're going to take the mine and then make our way around uh we could look to come out towards the Sheep, but we really want to prioritize mines in this playr uh so now we'll take this gypsum as well and we'll begin our way out on the Scout. So this is going to take us three turn or three moves to get over here, so we'll move once and then we'll pop this which allows us to see. So it looks like we're down towards the bottom here and uh our technology is going to start off by heading into Pottery. So what we're doing here is we're implementing all of the things that we've learned from previous videos, and we're now starting to put them all together, piece them all together. And we've got the option for science or gold, and it's very tempting here to go for uh to go for the gold, but I think the science is just going to make a little bit more sense uh our next expansion is going to come down onto this iron slot and we've—oh look at that—we've got a second one now. Here we've got a bit of an interesting choice. Do we go onto this mine here or do we come around over onto the wool uh and I think probably moving onto the wool is going to make the most sense because once again this is actually a Clay Pit which is going to be getting bonuses of our uh of our salit of our salit of our Brickyard rather. So our Brickyard uh which, by the way, we can now make uh with five production at uh turn four is is about to come down. So you can see how a start like this is just absolutely ridiculous because one of the things that we learned—hold on, where are we going to put this Brickyard?—we could look to put it here to extend it up, otherwise there's nothing really down here. We've got a monument position out here that we can look to do. I think this might make the most sense for us to try and get that Monument out there, but we've we've got enough resources around here that we're not really going to need to uh to think too much about it. So I'll go ahead, I'll just put Brickyard on this tile because it's also a river tile, and we're not going to be using our River tiles uh so now we're not going to go into riding. Instead, we're going to go down into animal husbandry and work towards masonry because masonry is going to be giving us that plus one production on mines and quaries which is very important uh it won't be giving us the uh the Clay Pit bonus, but hey, we we're still happy with that uh and now we'll move up towards these, and you can already see uh we've got more gypsum here, all of these resources, and that's what's really key about these resources are mining resources, and what we're going to be doing in this playthrough is absolutely stacking the house uh with mining resources. So that's our that's essentially what we're looking to do. Hopefully we've got some more room to expand. It doesn't really look like it; we're kind of locked in down here uh but uh one of the other things you'll notice is that after we we've finished Chief them, but we've also got hides down here which is a plus three production resource. So if we can settle this, we can send the hides back to the the capital, and then it's got an extra three production, which is absolutely ludicrous the amount uh that it gives you.
Okay, so we've got our first policy. We'll go with the charismatic leader cuz we don't really need to worry about production at this point. We'll go ahead, we can build a library and a monument, or we can create a trade route uh this gives us 25% production towards merchants, and this just gives us gold, but we're going to probably just take the gold cuz we're going to be building a monument and a library very, very soon, and we'll go into mysticism and we'll jump down into oligarchy and we will continue on our merry way here. Now we can look to get our settler out at this point uh one of the the key components of this is we've got such a high production opening, we're up at 17 already uh so that allows us to get this settler and really pump it out. On top of that, we've also got a city state, we've got Artim nearby uh but on top of that uh because we have got uh this high production uh together with Groma, it means that we are able to get that settler out very quick. This is only turn six, and we're getting this out, and I think that's what I love so much about this combination uh is the fact that you're able—so this here, I don't think—oh, that is Tundra. Okay, there's grassland, so that is 100% the right settle. That's an incredible settle for us because remember we're playing as as Catherine, so we do get bonus science uh equal to our culture in our CI, so we do want to try and settle—we'll go go for another settler here. We might look to try and get an early three uh settlers out, and we have met Fredrick uh so what was I going to talk about? Oh yeah, the fact that it doesn't matter uh you know like with with Isabella right, you if you're playing against Isabella or if you're playing as Isabella, there's going to be games where you start off and you're just like, you know, I'm going to reroll this one. I don't like my Wonder or I don't like the the tiles that I've got here um and that's the great thing about playing with Katherine is you don't need to do that. Katherine plus Greece is just this kind of start absolutely all the time. Look, you're never—you're not always going to get like three, four resources in your cap. There might be games where you get one or where you get too uh but this kind of opening down here on the Tundra with rough is guaranteed because of that that combination that we've got. So now we've got our next citizen. We'll go ahead and move into our wall. That's going to give us more production as well in the cap. So if we take a look at our resources, we've now got gypsum as well as wool that's in the cap, and Friedrich is offering us six signs per turn, so we intentionally didn't send out our offerings to him, just knowing that there's a chance that he could send them to us. If we take a look at him right now uh who does he know? He knows no one, no one except for—and we share a government and we have the first meet. This guy is going to become a good friend of ours today. Now because he sent out out the science uh Endeavor, what we're going to do is we're going to send him a cultural one, and he looks to support it. So that's going to push our culture up, and this is the power of Catherine early on, the fact that you've got access to science and culture, arguably the most powerful of the uh of of the uh the yields with the exception of course of production, which we definitely know is the truth. So he's over towards this angle. I think settling out here is going to make the most sense. We want to try and forward settle on him, really set up a kind of perimeter over towards that position. We can go into our third settler here, but just keep in mind we're not going to be moving into irrigation this early. We're going to go masonry, and then we're going to go riding, and then we're going to go into irrigation, though maybe we could switch things up. Maybe we can justify going for irrigation early just because we already have a decent science output right now. So I think, you know what we're going to do it, we're just going to go for another settler. Let's let's absolutely settle the world right now and uh we are going to discover everything that we can and more resources out over here. Check this out. This is rough Tundra once again with silver in it, and silver is a very good resource, not just because of what it gives you, but it uh also provides that—what's going on with my UI? There we go—20% gold towards purchasing units, which is really nice, and that combos incredibly well with what we're going to be doing this game, which is stacking production because remember it's not just production in your uh in your cities that matter, it's also production in your towns because your towns are what—oh no, oh no, I completely forgot about this. I completely forgot about this. Okay, this this could be a little bit difficult. That's my bad. That's my bad. I shouldn't settled this. I've I've turned these guys hostile and uh well they they're going to be they're going to be a bit angry, and that kind of sucks right cuz they're a science science city state, so we did want to try and keep them happy uh but uh it looks like we've got a little bit of war that might be happening early on here with some some city city states. Well, look, the good news is—oh, we haven't even scattered this out—is there another city state in here? I I don't think Friedrich has settled yet because we're still only on turn 11. He's offer us combat strength. We're going to—we're not going to take it—and I think we'll just look to out here. There might be another settle in here. This is—that's rough grassland, but it is rough. I mean, I I don't—I'm not adverse to settling in uh in grassland. It's just your cities. You want to try and keep them in tundra as much as possible uh we'll move into discipline here and our Pantheon. Now you might look at City pantron goddess and say that's the St one, that's the one you want to go for, but what if I told you there's an even better one for this combo that is going to take this off the absolute hook? It's all the way down at the bottom. It's called Stone circles, plus one production on Clay pits, mines, and quaries. And what do we have a lot of? We have a lot of clay pits. We've got one here. We'll have one here. We've got a lot of quaries. We've got one over here. We've got one up over here, and then we've got a lot of Mines. We've got plenty of them. So this is going to go absolutely Next Level. And now that we've got our three settlers out at turn 11, it's time for us to move into our alter, which is going to provide a whole bunch of production, and we want to put our Monument out here. There is a really good spot for our Monument right here, so we want to try and get towards this position uh and we'll go ahead and put down our alter. How long is that going to take us? It's going to take two turns cuz at the moment we've got 21 production, so we'll go ahead and uh continue scouting out the rest of the map here. So we're going to move this settler back. We could settle on this tile right here, but if we do that it is going to snag away uh it's going to snag away from the capital, so it probably—we'll have a—have we'll we'll have to take a look and see uh what we've got down there uh so we'll come up and try and take this marble as well uh this is another tile that I'm I'm 99% sure you're going to need mining for that one, and we can see over towards the east side there is indeed another city state, and it looks like they're already hostile, Troy by the looks of it. So let's back out out of there, and instead of settling on this tile, which will take two tiles away, let's take this tile right here, and then that's only going to deny one tile from the capital, and then we'll just make sure that we don't expand over towards this direction uh because we want to do our best to avoid taking it uh from from the capital. So we can take 15 production in uh the capital or 10% in all uh in all cities, so we want to take absolutely 10% in all cities because we're going to be building up a huge uge Empire with lots of big cities today. This of course is going to be another attempt at a passive playthrough uh and we have now got our salt that's starting to come online. Salt is another minded resource uh and speaking of salt, it looks like that position that we wanted to go for over here has actually got a salt tile on it, so this would have been an amazing Monument position, but it's going to get denied from us. So in this spot uh I I think realistically we've just put down our altar uh you know we can probably talk a little bit about our production. Our masonry has been completed in the same turn uh that our alter has come online, and you know we probably should have addressed the elephant in the room. Have a look at these yields. These yields are absurd. Look at this, just a random four production tile that's just sitting here. Five production on our our iron. If we take a look at our cap right now, we're at 28 production on turn 13. You know, when we talk about Isabella being strong, that's because we look at her and she's absolutely broken on the surface, but once we start digging down deep, we realize that—hold on—there's a little bit of complexity to Civ 7 that might be pretty damn good uh so let's go ahead, we'll put our Monument on This Ti instead, so we can expand out towards the salt uh we're not going to put the salt in the cap just because—actually, we're going to put the salt in the cap uh because we do have a city state nearby that's a little bit angry with us, so let's uh let's go ahead and do that. Slingers are up here now. We could look to try and play around Greece's unique unit, which is probably going to be the best bet here, so moving into uh our uh our hop lights—if I remember correctly—I've got to double check. I don't play Greece a whole lot—yeah, it's hoplight, and the more hop lights the merrier cuz they do get extra combat strength, and we've got—why, excuse me, aren't we good friends? Why are you denouncing me? Like we have done nothing but settle Close to You slightly—We've we've actually done—this one's not even close—so I I don't know why you're denouncing me. You're just going to make me spend my influence uh you know what's funny? I reckon if we offer him a research collaboration, he'll take it. Oh, you love it. You love it. It's—it—look, I'm not—I'm not going to get mad at Civ 7. It's it's AI right. You got to get mad at the AI for that. Okay, it's Fredrick. He doesn't know what's going on. He doesn't know what's good, so we we've got to allow him to uh to have that. So let's talk about our next settle. So if we go for this settle right here, we're not able to get the iron in this city, so this is probably the the the better settle. And speaking of settle—oh no, oh no, look who it is, Tom. Okay, anytime throughout this game when we actually get hit with a uh with with a uh what's it called, the Espionage, you just—you know what's already coming from her. Okay, so we've got 1, 2, 3 cities that have come out. We don't really have anything more that we could do. We could look for a settle down the backside, but these are something that we could focus on a little bit later uh is this in tundra? This is not in tundra. Is that in tundra? No, this is a grassland. This is quite nice though uh is there a way that we could get this in tundra? We can't settle on the silver. Yeah, there's no Tundra around. Oh, there's a tundra tile right there, but I don't think that's got—do we really care? Oh, oh, we can't even do it cuz we've got that Artem here uh we could just go for this tile right here. I don't—I'm not against the idea of settling off the river. I mean, you want to try and prioritize it where possible, but you don't have to uh what have we got with regard to options? I think hoplight is probably going to make the most sense here just because we are dealing with an incoming uh Invasion. Now we want to try and look to maximize our uh bonuses in the early game. We don't have any gold resource down here uh and there's no gold resource that we can trade with Friedrich, so that means that we should 100% just be looking to buy right now, so we'll buy our Brickyard. That's going to give us a our first little boost. Is there anything that we want to look to try and grab or move towards? I just realized we we missed this Relic, so let's come back and grab that one, and we'll go into our Brickyard. Now I think we could probably just even put it in in this tire, but we we'll expand our borders and we'll continue moving out. We just want to make sure that we avoid sticking on any good tiles, and we can look to change our policies, but we're not going to be doing it, and let's grow in this city. So we'll come up and take the gypsum. We've now got our uh We've now got our little guy, our hoplight, who's going to be coming up and looking to defend this city. I think at this moment we could probably just—you know what? I maybe we just look to try and take them out. We'll go into like three hop lights, and then that should be enough. From here we could go up into code of laws and look to get our Merchant, or we could go down the sides, or we could grab plus two food in all settlements, which is probably a little bit more favorable. So I think we'll go into that, look to really try and play into the strength of our settlements, and we'll continue moving. Definitely—oh my Lord. Okay, this is the consequence of doing that settle. I I didn't even think about it, man. You know what? It's my own fault. It's my own fault. All right, we we' we're in position over here. This is going to guarantee that we've got all of these uh and look, even at the end of the day, less less friendly at this point, less friendly. Okay, keep it—keep it—keep—keep dreaming, buddy uh so we've now got the uh We've now got the Brickyard down, which means we want to try and prioritize mine, so we've got a nice little 2, 2 tile there, and we've now got silver uh which is going to bring us online even more uh just simply because we're going to be able to buy things if we need to. We could look to go into dur durun uh but even though we don't—do we—the reason why I'm thinking why we might actually want to make granaries right now is just to actually push our science and our culture up. This is quite nice uh let's go for a cultural exchange here. Do we dare? We dare uh so that's going to push out our culture even more, and let's try and bait away some of these units with our Scout, and we're not going to take the bait over here from this scout. We don't really care if they get back, and we can set traps, or we can take culture. Let's see if we can set traps. Let's do it. We get the irrigation. That's going to bring our happiness up slightly here, or at least it should bring our happiness up up slightly here. Why are you still unhappy? You got full happiness in anyway. Let's uh now move on to our next tech, which is going to be writing. Then from there we'll go into the writing Mastery, and now we'll look to hold it down in the city. So we'll just start by fortifying for the moment just to increase the base strength that we've got on these units, and now we've got gypsum, and we can look to uh we've got two hop lights out right now. We can probably take our salt out of the capital. I don't think we need that, and to be honest, the two gypsum's probably just going to make a a little bit more sense here going forward uh we can move into a garden. We've only got 13 food, so adding in that Garden is going to make quite a bit of sense, or we could go into Gardens that hang, which is definitely quite cool, but there's actually something I want to do before we do that and uh and this is all part of the strategy uh so let's go. I think we'll go into a third hopl, even though we don't have the salt. I think it's going to be fine. We'll be okay. And let's see if we can move back around this top side. We can't move back around this top site again. We might lose this Slinger. No, we can't. We don't lose that on that turn. We should be fine. Okay, so we come back out. As long as we don't lose our our our towns, we'll be fine. So now we've picked up that policy, plus two food in all settlements, so we're going to drop the plus two culture from the palace and pick up the two food in all settlements here. That'll give us a nice eight food, and we've managed to get our uh We've managed to get quite high on our culture at this point, and now after the Mastery, I think we head up into entertainment just to look to try and get that settlement limit pushed up a little bit more uh we'll go into a s pit once again just to push our yields up even more slightly. We've got The Granary and the alar in this one, and now let's make a bit of a run for it. Actually, do we—I don't know if the AI knows how to shoot and move cuz I know that there's been games in the past where they haven't known how to do that uh so we'll have to wait and see whether that is the case. Let's see. It doesn't look like they've gone for a shooting move. Now keep in mind this is on the the deity difficulty, so I I don't know whether maybe they just can't see me from from this distance. Maybe that's the whole the whole problem. So let's move these Scouts back out now, and we'll bring our next hopl up, and we could start thinking about even going into the garden, and you could just see why production is so crazy in the early game. You—we don't have enough things to build like—we we have to go into world wonders at this point. We do have a plus four down here, which isn't too terrible because of the navigable river. Now we wouldn't want to put it on this tile because this tile is going to be a a mine in the future, so we'll go ahead and just throw it on this one here. The problem is though, where are we going to put our Hanging Gardens cuz we are going to be putting Hanging Gardens down, so we got to definitely plan this uh so I I really wish that we had map pins uh and now we can look at what what we're going to—are we going to take the uh the the salt here? I think we probably do right. The the food is always going to be welcome, and it's three production versus four production, so we'll take the salt, and that is absolutely—like it's crazy just how cracked this capital is uh with uh with all of the resources. We've got to picked up our second salt right now, and let's take a look. So this is uh this is starting to get a little bit out of hand now towards this top side, but fortunately—I I wonder why they did this—was they they've Fallen back right here. Is this this simply because we brought up this second hopl and they they've looked at it and said that's probably a bit too much? But surely not—like there's no reason why they couldn't take that uh we we'll go for the mine here. So just double cheing, we've got an alter that we can now put in because we've reached 180 uh which is decent uh 180 gold for full production, or we could do 108, so I think maybe getting brickyards in all of our cities before we actually get into uh the altar is probably going to make more sense over here. Have we picked up our Brickyard? We haven't picked up our Brickyard over here either, and we could look to expand it down around the back. We are only at four settlements right now uh and we'll go ahead and just AC and uh accept that one. We're not going to support it because we don't want combat strength uh even even though we're we're fighting against the AI right now, it's still not that important. And Tubman, Tubman, where are you going with that settler? Tubman, Tubman, don't you dare. Tubman, she's coming right for us uh where where could she actually settle right now? There's no way that she could settle, but it looks like she's coming down towards this angle, so I'm I'm going to try and do my best to block her. There could be like one location that she's she's picked out, and she just wants to try and settle that, so we could offer a research collab straight up, but Tubman's kind of closer. Let's see if Tubman will take the research collab right here. She does take it. That's good uh so that means that our our relationship is going to start building uh by the way, we have a shared government with with her and with Fredrick, not with Lai yet though, so what government is he? He is actually going to be classical Republic, and he's got the city Patron got us, so we're going to have to watch out for him. And let's take our science here. I I normally take science in those decisions, and from here we can now think about what tiles we want to expand out, and this one is going to make the most sense, and there we go. That city state was indeed right there uh at our borders. It was Troy, so now we'll move into our second writing, and we did delay riding quite a bit here. Now keep in mind that Catherine also gets that bonus towards codex uh so it means that we want to try and get as many great works as we possibly can, so maybe doubling back over towards the Mastery for masonry is probably going to be a smart move, especially because it gives us plus one production on production buildings, and we've already got 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 production buildings that are in our cities now. When it comes to our Library, we've got a beautiful adjacency spot right here, so we're not even going to have to think about it. It's also in the first ring, which is also extra nice, and we'll heal up towards the top side, and let's work down on these. We've got our upgrade from our commander. We're going to go into the assault tree, which we do 99.9% of the games that we play, and we've moved—or they've moved forward with the Slinger here.
Too late, Ally. We're not going to take the alliance. Uh, sorry, Fredrick, even though we like you. You can see right now we are happy with, or both of these two are happy with us. We've been offering them good stuff. We'll go with the charismatic leader. How do we position ourselves so that we can block this? So we could go here. This, this is where—okay, we need to math this out. So that's going to be four, that's going to be four; it's it's all going to be four turns for us to get there. There's no way, dude. It's rough terrain into forest into this one, into settle. Uh, this is—I I I don't think we're going to get this. We're going to try and get this, but I don't think we're going to get it. Uh, we—oh, you know what we could have done? We could have bought Scouts and then moved them into the spots that she can settle. But I think she can stand on top of our Scouts. Something makes me think that she can. I I read a YouTube comment about it saying the AI is just okay, or she just—oh, she doesn't have the—oh my God, I totally forgot she doesn't have the vegetation. The vegetation negative units ignore movement penalties from—yeah, there was no way we were getting that one. There was no way we were getting that one.
All right, Tubman. All right, Tubman, we'll let you win this round, uh, but uh, speaking of winning rounds though, it looks like uh we could go forward settle her. I I wouldn't be against the idea of forward settling Tubman, uh, but uh, for the moment let's just—we'll move this settler back down here. We'll we'll try and find a settle down here. I'm I'm confident that there will be something in there for us. And now to W this position, I think expanding towards Theon once again is just going to make the most sense. We've got another five turns on that, uh, so let's go ahead and grab our next promotion in the military assault tree. It's going to give us our infantry a little bit more damage, and we want to do our best not to actually kill these units. Uh, we want to just damage them and then let them kill themselves when they attack into us, just simply because we don't want to actually take this tile. Uh, we want to try and keep a nice little defensive ring. We'll go into bronze working. We'll save some gold up so that we can get our upgrades through. We'll move into entertainment. Now we could also look to play around our unique Civics, something that I haven't really talked about yet. We're playing as Greece, uh, so there's nothing in here that really makes me go crazy. I think the biggest thing is probably going into the Odon, just because from there you're able to multiply the bonuses that you're getting in your capital from the uh from the adjacencies. So once we start thinking a little bit more about Specialists, then we can definitely start thinking uh a little bit about moving into the odion, but other than that it it's all pretty much like—it's to do the majority of the stuff down there is all really to do with like your uh your influence and how you spend your influence. Excuse me, Great Stelly, would you mind—we were having a look at uh at our unique Civics right there to follow me.
So if we take a look at the Greek Civics, uh we've got influence, influence, uh we've got influence. We've got a settlement limit in here, which is probably something that we could look at. We've got hoplite getting City strength uh for being suarin, uh so we could definitely look to try and play the suarin game though, uh this probably isn't a bad spot to think about it. The the main thing is I I mainly just want to Stack my culture up as high as I possibly can. Tu's a bit sad with us. Let's see Tubman. Okay, she accepts. So the reason why Tubman is—we lost that friendship—is because Tubman forward settled us and we've got borders touching, uh and because of that uh we went from being friends to not being friends. So by sending that agreement to Tubman, uh that's going to push out our uh our happiness or our relationship up even further with her. So where do we expand on this settlement? We'll take the mine, there's no question about that one, and down towards this position we're now going to take du Sharin, no, or we could take Oracle. The Oracle—oh, it needs to be on rough Terrain. Ooh, oh, this is a tough decision. Do you take the Oracle, which is an absolutely dog world wonder? I don't think you do. I don't think we do. Uh, and now we need to think about where we put Dar shuin. I think this is probably going to be the spot. It's it's on a forest, but I don't mind it being down there. It it all—it's also very far back, so if anyone ever tries to attack us they're going to have to make their way down towards this. It basically ax is another city center. And now we can think about potentially getting Alters. We've got we've got all of these have got uh their brickyards in them, so we can take this and this is going to pay itself off very quickly. This alter, let's move out and take this one. So we're going to get even more territory over towards this position, and uh we are just going to move this hoplight back. We can probably even just move him around the back so it's even harder for them to grab him, and we're just going to heal. We're in our territory, so we're going to be getting some very nice heals in here, but we do need to be careful about uh exactly how long we stay. So let's move the full health hopl into here and we'll move this one into the city. That's going to give it a little bit more healing, and we can house them in the barracks or we can grab a migrant. I don't even know what you get—this—where does this narrative Choice come from? What what triggered—because I remember when I was playing through as the Greeks previously uh we got that quite early. We can now view our great works. We're going to pick up another one. This is another plus two culture that we're going to be getting, so we go up to 30 culture if we open a city center. It should update. There we go. Uh, so we are absolutely cultured out of our mind right now. And is there anything over here worthwhile expanding to? Let's have a look and see. This is all third ring, so there's nothing really in here. And if we do expand onto these tiles it's going to deny from the cap, and we want to avoid that at all costs. So I think probably means just ending up taking the rivers, uh and uh we might have to look at going into a fishing Key potentially. We've got four turns until we can upgrade our hop lights and get the next level on them, and I think we might actually take the extra military strength here. Uh, now with regard to Troy, it doesn't look like it's blocking—oh, there, there is Tundra out here. We prob—we want to scout out here. We've got a scout that's coming down. It's going to scout out our settlement locations here. We want to just try and nail this down, dude. We've already got Pikes or Spearman coming out over here. Here, this is a—this is—this is—this is a city state. Look, it's got the great General out, man. Oh my, this—this was a huge mistake. I don't know why I—why did I settle this city so early? I I should have sent them a friend request, uh, but uh, look, we'll get there. We'll get there. Uh, we're definitely having a little bit of trouble with all the Slingers that they've got. The range units are definitely doing work on us right now. Uh, we could move this forward, but we're just going to—we we'll go ahead, we'll just build some fortifications on the front. Remember the key here is that we just want to hold this for now and then we'll push out once we've got our level two. And let's double check and see. There's nothing really in here. I mean, we could take this tile. This one's not terrible either, but if we do turn this into a city later on we're going to want to keep this as a Jacy though. This could also be adjacency, so I don't mind that either. Uh, so prob—I think we can just settle in place. I don't think that's going to be too terrible. We're not using up a mine. No, we're not. That that is going to be fine. And we actually push the scout out to the edge. Let's put those hides back in the city or in—in the—so we we'll take this and put it just in any town because we don't really care cuz it's only going to be gold, and we'll put the hides back in the capital, uh which is going to give us just that little bit of extra production from forward. And that's already us on turn 31, starting off with a uh with a pathway onto the cultural cultural uh Legacy pathway. We're up to five uh on this one right now, five food, which is going to slightly pump us up in the middle, and we can think about the Oracle. I mean, this is the problem that you've got when you've got so much production—what do you do with it? What do you do with all this production? So we could put out over here, we could go in here, and I think actually this is going to be the best spot cuz we've got mad adjacencies that are going to be going on right here, uh so even though that's a mine, it's like we've got a mine here, we've also got a mine here, we've got another mine here. There's a lot of Min, and we're not really going to be missing out on that. And it look, it's pulling its weight. It's got the extra two culture and it gives the adjacency bonuses, so we're not going to get too mad at the Oracle for doing its Oracle things here. We've actually—we've got two Jades that we can go to. Do we—we take the Jade here, don't we? I think we take the Jade over the uh the other ones. Let's pick up the iron, uh and uh I I didn't even think about denying tiles here. We could look to try and deny the uh we could look to try and deny the wine. 1, 2, 3, but to do that we'd have to grow there. Yeah, okay, so we should have spent this citizen. No, if we do that then we need to grow here as well. That's hard to do because then you're wasting citizens, and you just want to kind of focus on production. I think is going to be the the key here. So we're saving up our gold right now. We're not going to put—this is—this is a terrible resource to actually put in. It's very good to work but not very good to actually put into your city, so don't put Jade into your cities, but definitely look to try and uh try and pick it up early on. And let's scout out over here cuz we might potentially have more settles down here, uh even if we can like squeeze in a whole bunch of towns. I'm absolutely not against it. We can just stack that up. We've got—we'll take this one. So the decision now that we need to be thinking is whether we come after Troy, and we've already got quite a decent Army here for us in the early game. Bronze working could be an—actually bronze working is going to make a lot of sense for us here, just simply because we we're going to pick up the extra two culture and the extra two SS straight away. But coming up into currency is going to make a lot of sense as well because we need to unlock these buildings sooner rather than later. The sooner that we unlock these buildings, the sooner we're going to be able to use that production in the cap. So that's that's my thinking there. We've just got way too much production in the cap, uh so we want to try and uh take advantage of that. And I think we can look for upgrades here. How much are our upgrades going to cost us? Uh, it's only 50 gold to upgrade. We probably should have upgraded that one rather than attacking, but I I saw an opportunity and I I took it. Uh, so uh let's move ahead. We've got 263 gold in the bank, and our gold is really starting to get bankroll right now. Let's go ahead and put down our alter, so we'll put that in this tile right here, and then let's put our sent here. I was saving that one for you guys. I didn't I didn't want to spoil it. And let's uh let's go ahead. Now we can move out towards the Jade. We can also think about grabbing our Brickyard in here, maybe on the next turn that we grow cuz then that will justify it a little bit more. And uh let's continue moving on, and we probably want you to upgrade, buddy. Oh, actually, we we really wanted you to upgrade now. We could take that out, but that's probably going to kill the Slinger. I think actually we we might be ready. We're we're ready to come out of our out of our total shell, and let's uh we probably could have killed this one as well, but we don't want to push too far forward here. So let's go ahead and see. Is there any way—okay, I don't think there's any way that we can get that one to do it. We've got our Scout here, so let's—can we do that? Okay, so there's definitely an OP option for another city down here. It's not going to have anything though, that's the other other problem. It's not going to have any tiles, whereas if we settle this city right here, this is going to have 1, 2, 3, 4 tiles that it can build stuff on, so we can get—we can get our Academy down here, we can get all of our good stuff. All right, so I I think that's definitely going to be our our primary settle here. Now we want to move out over towards this position. We can also look to get our our our next settlers out. We've got a barracks in here, one—one turn of Barracks uh in the cap right next to it for adjacency points. Yeah, we we we'll do it. We'll take that and uh 25 towards—no, we'll just take the culture, and let's move into currency, and we'll continue scouting up towards the top side here. So now we have dealt—let's switch these two out like that, and then we can upgrade this hop light, and then this one can come around the side, and then you're going to continue moving forward, buddy. And we are now going to be able to take out Artim because there is a really nice settlement location in here somewhere. It's just about finding it and just making sure that we—we want to try and keep it so that uh Tubman doesn't take it. So we basically want to hold this city hostage. We don't actually uh take it down. That's going to be a key factor in our decision-making here. So we're just going to move down here without too much thought about where is our—there was another hopl here where I was looking for it. We're going to move in with without too much thought. We're—we've got—that's a major victory right there. So we've we've done a good job in stacking all of our iron up. I think we've picked up—have we picked up every single iron that we've got now? Empire—I see three down here so far, uh so I think I think we've pretty much got every single iron, uh which is uh which is good. Okay, so now we're going to be able to take the Jade, which means we can justify going into the Brickyard here. So we could put it in—actually, there's another city up here, isn't there? Oh, there is another city up here. Let's double—no, there's not. Never mind. Uh, so 1, 2, 3, so we need to avoid expanding out to here, this tile in particular, uh so the the—there are rough tiles up there, so we're just going to go and we'll expand on this tile, but we're not going to expand any further than that. Uh, have we got any more buildings that we can purchase somewhere? We've got a s pit over here. We can't put it there. We can definitely put it there. That is not a bad little spot. So let's put our s pit there. Doesn't deny any tiles from the cap, and we—I think we're in a pretty good spot here. Let's double check. I I did see this request. Let's double check and see where we are. Are we outpacing the AI yet? It looks like we're kind of getting there, right? We've got more cities than all of the AIs. Happiness needs a little bit of work though. Fredrick could also use a bit of work. For science, we're on par with the AI at this point, and culture we're a little bit behind Lafayette, who is a cultural focused leader, uh so let's go ahead and uh see if we've got any more agreements that we can send out, so where everybody's happy with us uh at this point though, is there anybody who could use an agreement more than somebody else? So I'd be more tempted to say probably Fredrick because we're planning on expanding out in this direction, and he might be out here, and if we've got borders touching that could push us down a little bit more. So we'll offer him a cultural exchange. He supports us—supports it—and a research collab. So that's going to push our numbers up even further. We we're now peing on science, and when it comes to culture we're we're doing pretty well. I'd say we're we're kind of middle of the pack at the moment. Army Commander, you just can fortify right there. Cool little trick that you can do is you can fortify with your Army Commander, uh and then you can attack with your units. So let's go ahead. I think we're just going to hold position at the moment with—try and let them attack into us or see if they want to. Doesn't look like they have. We're out healing them, so as long as we just sort of keep ourselves High, I think that that's going to be absolutely fine. And we'll continue—we can push over like this and then bring this one in, and then we can attack the Archer, which is more important than attacking the the front line. And we've got a lot of things to go through. We got a cultural attribute point. We'll go ahead and expand out on this city, and we do want to prioritize moving into—we're not going to deny anything from the cap—we want to prioritize moving into uh forests, uh so now we can look to try and pick up the as well, uh so this might be the preferable tile for us to do that, but we'll worry about that a little bit later cuz I think we probably want to expand with uh with this one. We could look to move into the fishing key, actually. The fishing key is probably not a bad idea right now. There's no reong here for us to double check, so we'll go—oh, and there it is. There, there you go. So you can see the reason why it was so important to send Fredrick. Look, he's already gotten sad with us, and this is the whole idea about making sure you send those trade agreements as quickly as you can before you upset the enemy because now we rejected the alliance and our borders are touching, and we settled too close to them, and the leader—oh, the leader agenda's really kicked it off. Likes the civilization with the greatest number of military units, dislikes the one with the smallest number of military units. Okay, so I think just to sort of uh prevent that from going too crazy, it could be an idea for us to actually go into some military units. So let's uh let's—we we'll consider that a little bit more as as we move on. So Coliseum uh has got an adjacency requirement. It needs to be adjacent to a district, so which district are we going to put it adjacent to? We don't want to put it in the city Center ring. We could probably go for this one here. I think this is probably going to be the best. It only hits the monument, so it's not amazing, uh but look, we we'll we'll take it. I don't think it's blocking anything. It's just on—it's just on this pdly ply uh little tile right here. And now that we managed to to do this, I think we could probably look to go into our uh into our Odon. It's probably quite reasonable for us to head down that path finally. Cultural will pick up the extra point that we've—or the point that we just got given in it. I think that was an attribute uh or a a narrative event. I'm not 100% sure though. We've an unmet—an unmet player. Oh, that's right, there's other players. Sometimes I'm I'm like, hold on a minute, unmet player. Uh, we've also got—this will just be the Cavalry bonus, and then once we get to the next one that's when things are really going to start kicking off. Uh, so we're going to attack. We're going to look to try and get around, so he's out over here, but we'll still have the adjacency bonus in here. I I don't like—there there's this bug at the moment where the city name plates are disappearing. It's it's it's how the Spaghetti Works. So we're going to attack in on this position right—right here. Oh, I didn't think we'd do that much damage. That was crazy amount of damage right there that we did. I was not expecting that. But from now we'll continue expanding out our cities. We've got an option to specialize here. We could look to go into a specialization here, but to be honest there's a lot of space. We've got a lot of production. I don't think we're going to do it. I think this is probably going to become a city, and to be honest I don't know if I really value moving into into uh specializations just yet. So now we've got—we've all of a sudden got a whole bunch of different things that we can produce: fishing Key, bath, Market, OD. So which one are we going to prioritize? The bath is probably going to make the most sense. That's a huge amount of value that we're going to be getting from this tile. We could also put it together with the garden, but I think the market probably is going to make more sense on that TI, but we do have a market option down here which gets even more adjacency bonuses. I didn't actually see that as a garden uh option, but we'll we'll put the bath in here, and then I think we go for the market there. But before we do that, the Odon in the center is going to pick up three culture, three Happiness. We don't really—do we need happiness at the moment? Definitely. I mean, three happiness in the in the cap is is is going to be good, but I think we'll just go ahead, we'll just put this one down, and then we'll put the Odon in the middle, and then we could look to throw down the fishing key as well, uh but I'm I'm not too fussed about it. And then we've got the Coliseum, and we also need to get some military units out. So let's think about putting our first city in, and I think this is a good candidate. This is also in the tundra, so all of the culture that it's generating is going to be translated over into uh into science, and it might not be making much at the moment. It's only making three, uh but this is definitely going to—as the game gets longer—it's going to make a uh a very very strong uh a very very strong City. So we'll go ahead and we'll turn that one over. We'll convert it to a city, and what are we going to start off with? We could start off with the barracks to push up our production, uh but I think the the best bet is just going to be getting our yields going immediately. So the sooner we can get that rocking the better it's going to be. And we've got a beautiful spot for it. We've left it intentionally. It is a very nice library that we'll put down, and we can start thinking about moving into the tech tree a little bit further. So before engineering, I always like to pick up the wheel just so that we can get the Villa. Uh, it's going to take five turns uh for us to get that, so we'll go ahead and gra that. That just helps out with adjacency bonuses. And now we might head down the other side. We could also go into Samia here, uh which wouldn't be terrible for the uh the the settlement limit, but I think organized—actually, we'll just do code of laws. It's it's probably a bit more all round for us to do that. And let's start powering through it's uh with with this one. We're going to bring him back. Actually, we could all—we could just move around the outside. That's probably like—do a little bit of a shuffle, like everybody just come over slightly, and then that way we we've to maintain those connections. We could look to get another hopl out here. Probably wouldn't be a terrible decision. So let's now look towards this East Side. Oh, that's a forward settle, actually. Is it a forward settle? No, he's he's come down here. That's uh—I got—I got really mad then. I was like, oh, that's a forward settle. That's illegal, referee. Get him—get him. I been—we've been forward settled by by both of the AIs, but it looks like he's happy with this now. So we've manage to turn this relationship around. We're going to send fish—probably not back to the cap, uh but uh we are—we're doing—doing okay here. And I think on this turn we can probably look to take Artim. Remember we're not going to be uh we're not going to be getting rid of it though at this point, but we will definitely be standing on the on the top of it. Uh, so let's go ahead and we'll do one and—oh, we needed our great General out here. We actually failed to do that, uh so that that was a definitely a mistake. And we're not going to be able to take—oh no, we are—we're able to take it. So just remember we're not going to be uh actually uh dispersing them. We're going to just be leaving them for the moment, just simply because if we disperse them Tubman's going to see that and she's going to be like Tubman. And uh well there's there's a lot of good stuff in here, and we want to get our settlers in position ready to go, and then we're going to hit the expand button. So that's our thinking. We've got the wine here ready to go. When was our last celebration? We haven't really been celebrating too much. In fact, we're about to head into a celebration. 10% culture on the celebration—not actually bad. So let's go ahead. We'll grab wine. Keep in mind that wine is a global resource, so we don't actually have to slaughter into a city, uh so that extra 10% Capital uh culture is going to be absolutely lovely. So we will 100% take that. And let's—oh, we got another—there's a lot of Agro city states, so maybe they've just been uh maybe they've just been forward settled and uh and people don't like them. Uh let's uh let's continue moving through here. I just realized we're probably going to lose that Scout. There's two range—actually, this one can't see us though. That is an Archer. Oh, that is close. And we finished—I think this is our fourth world wonder. The production is King is ringing through—or ringing true—right now. I don't know whether it will hold up for the—with it—shall the world—thank you—thank you so much—thank you for letting me—oh, there's gold—there's gold—and you haven't settled it yet. Do we—I think we take out Troy, and we got to settle something in here. Can we find something nice in here? Uh, probably—there's there's no fresh water. We don't care that much about fresh water. And is there—there's Tundra—there's Tundra right here. So let's settle that, and then we'll take the gold. We're going to—we're going to settle right there. That—that's our spot. Troy, we're coming for you. We—let's—should—should we kick this up into gear? Maybe—maybe we should kick it up into gear, uh because uh it it's it's definitely—we could 100% get a few more military units out. Uh, before we do that though, sorate going to look quite nice. A little bit of extra production for us, and we could look for an alter here. There's only the two extra production we're getting, so it's nothing too crazy. This one here is not going to deny tiles from the cap. Uh, oh, did we already deny a TI from the cap? No, I think this one here is still for the cap. Cool. Let's keep moving, keep expanding, and let's probably just go straight into into food here. Things—things are growing well for us. We're now going to follow this up with a uh a monument. So once we disperse this city, we could come around like that. That way we can keep this tile cuz I I do value this tile especially from a production perspective, uh so maybe even moving into a s pit could be good. Uh so how about—you know what? I I want to disperse it. You know—okay, here's what we're going to do. We're just going to disperse it, sorry. And then what we're going to do is we're going to throw the S pit down. Why can't we throw the S pit down on this tile? Oh, we can't throw the S pit down on this top because this was part of the AI—oh, because—oh, so now—but if I put the monument down on this tile here, it's going to kick the citizen out. We can't put the citizen on there because someone's standing on it, but once the monument gets completed then what that should do is hopefully that should open up this tile for us to then put the S pit down on that—that—that's my thinking. We'll see whether that actually Rings true or not. And we we've lost a lot of Health on our units here, so we probably need to be bit careful with this. We've still got this guy to spend. We we still want to roll him over into the next turn though. And Technology wise, we're going straight up into engineering now. We've got our next uh celebration, so we're going to be going in for food, and we can look for plus two happiness in all settlements. That's going to be quite decent for us, uh so we'll go ahead and take that. We've also got the influence towards befriending uh an independent city state, but uh I'm sure you know exactly how we feel about befriending things. Uh we we befriend—we befriend the the leaders, but uh when it comes to anything else uh no. Siri Bob. And we've got—I don't know why we've got resources—oh, cuz we completed the market, uh so that's why it popped up. Okay, so now that we've completed an ey for the monument—yeah, so it does open up this little tile. So what we could also do here—we also—we actually risk losing—wait, where's my great General? I thought—I thought I lost my great General. I was—I was a bit worried for a second. So I don't really want to attack into this because if we do that uh we're going to be losing a a lot of Health. We're going to do it anyway, just cuz we want to clear out this unit and and hopefully it attacks into us. Let's let's just go ahead and put this down instead. I I was kind of holding out for the mine. You know what? That that yield is just too crazy good. We can meet all civilizations. I think we've already met all civilizations, haven't we? Yeah, we have. So we just get a cultural Point immediately. Uh, we could go into 10% construction towards wonders or 25 culture towards studying Civic masteries. Now normally you'd look at that and go, okay, well obviously you're going to take the 10% uh for constructing world wonders, but like we've already got an insane amount of production, is it really going to be mandatory? You can exactly which world wonders we've got left that we can build. I don't know whether the other ones have been taken or maybe we've just built all of them, but uh that is definitely a decision that I I think probably—and it seems weird—maybe this is going to make the most sense that I I didn't ever think I would have to make that decision. I always thought I would be going for the world wonders. I never once thought I'd be doing that. So that's kind of crazy. And but I I guess if there's ever been a playthrough for it, this is going to be the one, right? It's the one where you've got an insane crazy amount of production where you just don't know what to do with it. Uh we've got the Villa. We're going to optim—or we're going to prioritize putting the Villa down just simply because we are going to be able to get more—getting more influence from it. And even though this tile looks good, we're about to get our Amphitheater through, so we'll put it there to get the adjacency bonus from the uh the Coliseum. And we can now begin working down this side of the tree. Uh, wait, did we go into our—we've only gone into samat here. We went into code of laws. I I don't even think we can get the—we young Palace cuz it must be placed on Grassland, so we can't build it in our cap, but we could build it in another city, so maybe that's a play. And I think it's probably a smart move, especially like in a city like this, uh to to be doing that. So we should probably look to try and prioritize that. We can get a Barracks uh in—so we'll throw it on that tile. Is there anything else that we can do? We can do a S pit. So where are we going to put the S pit? Uh, we'll just throw it together—oh, we could push it out onto a farm. I don't mind that. Put the S pit on the farm and then put the citizen over there, and then we—you know what? We can just—it—it's next turn
Do all right. We worked it out, but we're going to hold on. This is where it makes C7's hard, right? Because now we need to think about our adjacency because we're going to be building the We Young Palace in that city as well. Wait, did we meet somebody? What was that? I thought we just met somebody. That was the sound I thought we heard. Uh, and let's finish our trade here. We've now picked up a whole bunch of resources. I don't even know what we're going to be doing with all these resources. Uh oh, I did just realize we need to put these bad boys in this city. We'll also put the Kalin in here, uh, just because we want to make sure that the city is getting the full bonus. And that's going to give us the bath in here. We're also doing our bath up towards that position. Do we actually lose a Hopl that was defending? Oh my Lord, I never thought I'd see the day, but we actually lost a unit. That's uh, that's unexpected.
We could look to go into Jade. Jade's going to give us a little bit of extra culture here, uh, or I think what might make more sense is just coming out here and take this so that we can expand with this city. We could also look at—I didn't even think about Specialists—we could look at Specialists. And there's a very nice one sitting in the middle. We've got the Odon 3, 3.5. I think we're just going to have to play the Objective game here and just absolutely go for that specialist. You'd be crazy not to. And uh, and now we can think about adding in more Hoplites to the Army and maybe look to—maybe we could even potentially get a war going. I, I don't know. I, I kind of like uh, I kind of like uh, Fredrick, but he's been looking at me a little bit funny in the last couple turns. And well, you know, we just want to make sure that uh, that that stops. So let's uh, let's let's continue pushing forward here. And we've got now an alliance offer. Once again, we're going to take it.
You know what? I, I, I can feel there's a part of me that—and and I'll be honest with you—this is where it sort of gets hard because I know that I'm going to be posting this as content. It's going to be going on a YouTube video, and I want this YouTube video to actually be reasonable for people to watch. I don't want you to have to sit here for 4 hours and watch the video. You know, we're already pushing it, sort of 2-hour long videos. So I mean, if you're if you're posting 2-hour videos, mate, what's the difference between 2 and 4? I, I, I guess that's one way that we could look at it. Uh, that's that's definitely a possibility. Uh, well, hold on a minute. Okay, I was a little bit scared there. We Young Palace is available and it's in a beautiful spot and it's going straight to the top. I don't even care about the Odon. Get it in there. Uh, I don't think we can push production any further on this city. Yeah, this is this is a very nice city by the way. I'm I'm a big fan. Uh, we could go into plus two plus two strength on all military units. We will happily take that. And now over towards this position, this tile is the capital's, so we can't take either of these two mines even though we wanted, but we can take the dies, so we'll go do that and we'll just we'll keep that in mind. Oh, I should have taken the extra strength uh, cuz that would have been quite nice. And we've come up the side on the top. Let's now move up the bottom as well and hopefully we're going to be able to—oh gosh, it's absolutely crazy when you've got this much production like we—I, I genuinely don't know what to spend it on, like am am I going to be rolling it all into into into culture? Do I roll it into uh other agreements? Like what? How does it how do we even do this?
Okay, it looks like we're actually going to be able to push out the enemy here. I don't know what's happened. Obviously, they got dispersed. Oh, I just realized we actually want to expand. Let's uh, let's go and do some expanding cuz we haven't been expanding for a while. Uh, so we do have a settlement cap of seven. That was the Scout right? That's yeah, that was the Scout that we lost. That was okay. We kind we we were happy to lose the Scout here. So let's go ahead and sleep all of these just for the moment cuz we're going to be building up our army. We're going to go visit Troy. We're doing a little bit of more warmongering here, not not too much, and we'll go into mathematics to look to try and pick up our very important buildings. Uh, and we don't want to go Brickyard here. I don't think we want to go alter. Actually, we could do Brickyard. Brickyard wouldn't be terrible. Maybe even sorate was a mistake, but we kind of want to turn that we want to turn that City into a uh that town into a city. Speaking of cities though, maybe this is our next candidate, so let's go ahead and move this one. We'll convert it over. Uh, it's a pretty reasonable time for it to be doing uh that, uh, and we can look to go into production immediately as the first Port of Call. Uh, so where are we going to be putting that down? We can put it down right here. That's a beautiful little spot, so we'll do that. Though there is a part of me that thinks maybe just go into the library first. Maybe that's the correct play. Let's do library first, and then we'll do production. We've already got decent production, see? But then there's a part of me that's like, well, we got 10 turns until mathematics is complete and we're going to have our Academy, so maybe we should just hit it up with the double, so that that's all also an option for us. And we're starting to roll over these turns a little bit faster now that we've cleared out all of these Troublesome city-states towards that top side. And let's actually open—let's head down to this Mastery. Let's look to get Gate of all Nations. We'll take the plus seven culture. We already knew where that was going, even though we don't have our pins, we knew exactly where that was going. Should we befriend—oh oh, okay, that's that's interesting. I was going to say should we befriend Troy, and it looks like someone's already beat us to the punch, so we're going to have to pull out the uh the boxing gloves if we actually want to do this. This is where I'd love to like stop the video, and then we have two subsequent videos: one is a one where we go to war and the other one is where where we just play it peacefully out. I, I, I don't think that—and and this is the other thing, right?—that war there needs to be something to gain from war, right? Like we can't just go to war because we don't like the way that he's looking at us. Uh, I mean, you can, but uh, it it's probably not a smart way to operate an Empire. Um, so I, I think that we don't really have a lot to gain by doing that, whereas—and primarily, excuse me—as as the We Young Palace gets completed uh in in our Second City, regret goes on and on without end. Oh gosh. Uh, so we've already got like our Empire is pretty well established. We've got four, six settlements here. We're about to have two more. What do we really gain by taking these? And I know what you're going to say: well, you gain the military Legacy path. Okay, good point. Let's do it. That was quick.
From here we could look to go into Specialists or we could go into the mine. Now the specialist, I'm not against it, but it is minus 2 food, and this mine tile we just want to try and pick it up. I think it's just—we'll pick it up, then we'll think about Specialists. Let's grab this extra food. We'll take casts. I don't even think there's any any question about that being the best choice there. Gate of all Nations. Can I get a Gate of all Nations check? Uh, yes, I can. And there is a beautiful Gate of all Nations check down here. Absolutely lovely. And this is where I wish we had vision of a scout like this one right here. That tub's got on our bard by the way. Uh, did you want a cultural agreement or a research agreement? Why are you so angry with us? Why why is he—oh, it's because of the leader agenda. We need to get more military. We need to get more military out. He doesn't like our military because it's it's the smallest, it's the weakest. So if we're settling on desert, we look, we might as well go the extra distance, right? And and just say, well, it's not Tundra, so we might as well get this up there. This is probably just going to be a feeder town for uh for Sparta, so we'll go ahead and we'll put it in, and we're going to look to try and grow this as quickly as we possibly can. So we're going to put a granary in as well, and we can probably expand out more towards—I think even just these Farms, we could probably even look to come out towards this and try and steal this off her. Uh, we've also got an option for a blacksmith here, so we can throw that on. Why is there a spit here? Oh, cuz we went to take this tile. This is a really good tile. Uh, oh, we're getting bonuses from the We Young Palace. Oh man, this is this city is a very nice city. I'm I'm just going to say that right right now. That is a beautiful looking city. Garden and then an Amphitheater over here at absolutely—that that is a wonderful looking City. We got—you know what? We've got really nice cities everywhere here. This is kind of this is kind of crazy, man. This is—is this just a Catherine thing? I now I know she gets really good spawns all the time, but I don't know if she always gets setups like this. Like this just feels very good. We're just making really good use of all the land that we've got. Gate of all Nations coming online. War, thank you very much for the in peace, sons be fathers. I'll let you finish, but in war, fathers be sons. Very true. Very true. All right, so we've now got an option, so I, I think this is probably going to make the most sense down here uh to put our blacksmith, so we're connecting it from the Gate of all Nations. Uh, we'll put it here, and that's going to give us a beautiful uh little combo. And we could look to get—is that's not our city center? 1, 2, 3. We could get another World Wonder here for more adjacency. Remember that we want to try and uh Rush our science as much as we possibly can. We want to finish this game as quickly as we possibly can. Uh, and we—well, not not really, but essentially what we're doing is we're trying to race up up the uh the tree as quickly as we as we can. Villa high priority. We don't want to look for adjacency with the Villa. The main reason that we're doing it is just because of the influence, but if we can find something that's going to give us a good little spot, then we're definitely going to take it. Uh, there is a nice spot right here, but it's a navigable river. Uh, we'll take this one here. That's a rough grassland though. We're not going to take that one. There's a 32, that's a 4, there we go. We found it. We found the tile. And down towards the South, where's my music? You know, when when the Music Stops—When the Music Stops—I get a little bit—I, I remember playing other games where the music would stop and I'd just be like—it would drive me crazy. And they would intentionally leave periods of Silence, like it it's an intentional uh artistic uh direction that they that they take, but it can be a little bit uh can be a little bit Eerie. All right, so we're going to jump up towards uh Simaa just so we can pick up this last little settlement, and uh—We've now stolen away the cotton. Is that her cap? I think that's her cap. It's very very big, so that makes me think that it's going to be her cap. So let's expand towards her cap. That's going to make her upset. There's nothing we can really do to offer her our our hand at this point. Uh, we're going to go ahead and take this. This is actually a really nice bonus for us at this point in the game because if if we take a look at how much damage we're doing now, we're up to 35 damage on the Hopl, which is pretty good for the Hoplite, cuz remember you can't really stack these up the same way that you can for the legions, at least if I remember correctly, they're called the legions, the the ones that the Romans get. Uh, so let's continue moving forward. We'll go for another Hoplite here. We've got cotton that we can just throw in. Uh, we'll go ahead and throw it in the city. We'll actually move the gypsum into the city down here. Cotton can come up into the cap, and we've now got two gypsums in that City. In fact, what we can also do is move the Kalin into that City, so now it's going to be uh even even better uh because it's it's got low growth, and we want it to grow big and we want it to grow strong. So this is going to be our focus on this turn. Roll over here, so I think maybe getting a bath is probably going to be a smart choice. So this tile right here is going to be perfect for it. There's also a garden that we could go for, which is—we've got a plus five right here, but it's on rough, but I mean this has already got production out the woo, so it's like, do you really need to do it? Probably not. In fact, do you even need to go B here? Like realistically, we're already producing a lot. Let's just get our yields right, like that's probably going to make the most sense. Uh, we can finish our quarters as well. Uh, so we've got Library, blacksmith here, Monument, so we'll throw the amphitheater on that, and the—we could put the Odon and the pathon together, but I'm not a fan of it. Uh, I think just stacking the Odon on top of something—we can probably even just put it on the city center. Where's our city CER? That's our city center right there, so that give us 1, 2, 3 adjacency. Uh, this right here is the tire that's going to give us—that will give us three adjacency, so we'll throw it down on the alar, and uh that should hopefully give us a nice little spot. Marble, Marble, definitely take the marble. And we still can't actually take this. You know what? It's one tile, and the the truth is like one tile is good, but it and and it can mean the dist the difference. Let's put let's put the pathon on on just because it gives influence when it's on a rough terrain, and it's going to take this tile, and it now means that we can finally come out and take these tiles right here. Uh, so that's going to allow us uh full control. And now we're really expanding towards the front. Remember we want these cities or these towns to grow. These are designated feeding towns, so we want them to grow big and strong, so we're going to put granaries in them. That that's all they're going to be doing, so we want to try and prioritize the farms in those towns, and then we'll move into Samia, which will push us up to 8 out of 7, which is a—you know, that's a manageable amount of Happiness loss uh that we're happy to take on, at least until the next age. Uh, so we'll uh we'll continue expanding forward, and let's take all of these guys out. Glory should be celebrated to influence or to to culture. Now I'll tell you why you always take influence: not only is influence incredibly hard to come by, but also because when it rolls over to the next age it uh it should hopefully stick around. I don't actually know if it does though. So that Amphitheater should uh get uh get the bonus influence, and it should technically—I mean that rather it's this one right here—it should technically get it, uh, but I don't know if—now that I think about it—I, I think it's buildings that are uh retaining the bonuses, not the quarter themselves. So if you if your quarter—if you've got like two cultural buildings in a quarter—that should be giving you four culture when you roll over into the next age. Uh, I'm 99% that's how it works. Okay, we are absolutely cooking. Fishing Key coming down, and we're just going to forcibly roll over our turns now, right? As the world goes—I think is being able to force end your turns is really really important, and it kind of sucks that you can't do this on consoles, just because—like, as an example—all of these units want something to do in the turn, and you don't want to give them something to do in the turn. Uh, so you can just you can just do that, and then that way they they're looked after, they move on, you don't have to give them that command. Okay, so we can go for a Diplo point or a cultural attribute point. Now we've already—we're already quite far down the uh cultural attribute tree, so I'm more tempted to do that, so we can go one culture per age from great works on display. And this is already kind of combining with our leader bonus, so the more great works that we have, this is starting to stack up. All the plus one culture in settlements for each resource assigned to them. Now why this might be good is because if you've got a settlement like we do our city right now, uh it's got a whole lot of of resources that are in it, or at least it will soon. Uh, so that's like five culture that goes onto the city, and then that culture then becomes science, uh which is part of the reason why this combination is insanely good as well, because the Odon is giving us even more culture which is being converted into more science. So I think just going into the cultural attribute Point makes the most sense here. We'll move down onto this one. Uh, we also have plus 15 production towards building constructing buildings and wonders with great work slots, which is very specific, but I think this could be quite good throughout the game cuz that's like, you know, there there's a whole bunch of Wonders, but we'll take a more a more broad uh bonus is going to make sense for me here. Look at all this rough terrain that we could take, but we'll expand out on this tile. We got any more food that we can throw in here? Not really. Three turns to grow. We're still going to be growing this town as much as we can and expanding out on the front. And now we can start thinking like—we we've pretty much done the entire Tech Tree, so we're at turn 59 right now. Let's uh do a quick check on where we are for our yields, so we're at 63 science, so we have the the highest science with the exception of Tubman, and we're at a 99.5 culture, so the highest culture with the exception of uh Lafayette. So our Focus now is to try and bring those yields up as much as we can, and we're going to do that by dropping down all of our cies at the same time. So we've just unlocked oury here. We've also got Pyramid of the Sun, which we should arguably rush in our Capital. Wait, we can't actually fit our Pyramid of the Sun in. It's probably got very specific—is it like it needs to be next to a river or something, right? It's probably like it needs to be next to a a river and a district must be placed on flat terrain adjacent to a district. Yeah, so we do have flat terrain. It's right here, but it needs to be placed next to a district. So here's what we're going to do, even though that's a plus eight yield—oh my gosh—oh, there's nothing that we can put here to get that to become a district, and it needs to be adjacent to a district. So Temple of the Sun, plus two culture. You know what? This isn't terrible for—wait, we can't do it here either. Wait, has Temple of the Sun been taken? Has Temple of the Sun been T—I'm having like a revelation right now. We must we must have missed it, dude. That's crazy. That's crazy that you can have yields this strong and still lose Temple of the Sun. The de AI is absolutely cooking it. It's you, isn't it? It's you. It's always you. Or is it Tubman? Tubman. It's got to be T—I don't know who it is, but we we want to go to war. Wait, if we declare war on them, we can see what cities they've got and and what wonders those cities have got. Anyway, we'll uh we'll worry about that. We'll worry about that later. Actually, Bron's working. Oh my, how do we forget Bron's working too? By the way, this is such an important Mastery for us to pick up. And uh let's continue moving down. We'll go into—how's our happiness doing? 37. It's not that crazy. Uh, so we'll just go into literacy and we'll finish that one out. Academy, we'll drop it down, we'll throw it in the back, and we're going to look to put a specialist on that. We've got the academy over here as well, which we'll put over with our blacksmith, so we've got two turns on that academy, one turn on this Academy, and this Academy over here it's got three turns on it, so we really want to now push these yields up. So there was a seven in here I thought. Yeah, there is a seven in here. Uh, so do we have anything we can paare that with? We have Barracks, we canare it with, so we'll go ahead, we'll put that in. Let's bring it to the top, and all of our cities now are going to be producing. We've got an extra citizen that we can put in, so we can go for a specialist. There's nothing here that's too crazy yet. This is going to be a great tile, uh, but before we get to that, we're just going to have to uh we're just going to have to throw it on some production, and uh that is that is essentially it. So next turn completes. We've got a huge science yield that just came through, uh, and we're about to grow for another specialist, which is going to be absolutely welcome. We'll add another Hopl into the que and continue marching them towards the front, and we've finished all of our fortifications. The Hoplites begin their March, and we can probably even look into another great general or rather a another Army Commander, my my mistake, my mistake. And now we can think about our next specialist, and probably this one's going to be the go-to. Uh, I think this was a three adjacency out here. Oh, you know what? Can Temple of the Sun go on that tile? It can't because Temple of the Sun's not available. We can't build it. It's uh—we can see what is left in here: Monks Mound, Ankor Wat, or Emil Bell. Uh, so we probably want to—are we going towards Ankor Wat? We are going towards Ankor Wat. Uh, we could also go for Emil Bell, which is a rough terrain, so we're not going to prioritize that here. Uh, what else have we got available that we could can build in this city? So we've got Monks Mound as well, which is on the other side, so we'll go for Ankor. That makes the most sense. Is there anything in this city that can be built that's different? Uh, we can also build the same thing. And then finally we'll check in Spart and see if there's anything in Sparta that can be built, and it's all the same stuff as well, though a bell could arguably be built here just because we don't mind throwing away this rough tile, so maybe let's just duck down quickly just to go pick that up. It's only going to be two turns, but that two turns could be the difference between getting San St and not. How close we to that cultural Legacy path? We need one more World Wonder. We should be fine here. I'm not too fuss. I think we're probably going to be okay. Let's continue pumping up our specialist yields here. This this specialist in particular is very important because remember that as we roll over into the next age we're going to be able to choose to have a legacy path that allows us to keep our cies and the bonuses that they give with all the adjacencies, and what that's going to do is it means that specialist is providing value from the very beginning of that of the uh of that age. So that is a huge component uh of our decision-making for something like that. Now I think this city or this town right here is probably ready just to become—I mean, there's a part of me—do we turn—it's got 18 production. 18 production is not terrible. You could—I think it's probably a little bit too late in the era, so let's go ahead and we'll turn this into—we we've got three in here. We've also got a couple in here. I think we're just going to convert it into a uh we'll just throw it into a fishing town for now. Why not? Let's do it. I don't know. I don't actually know what the number is. I think it's probably three that we got in here out of 12, so look, probably not the best choice, but uh we we've made it now. We got to we got to live with it. Let's see if we can pick up any more codexes to try and push this as far as we possibly can. Uh, we've got an Odon that we can—is that an Odon? Yeah, an Odon that we can put down. Oh, we've already put down the Odon, so let's just immediately complete that and let's continue pumping. So I, I think that we should have fried quite happy now with the amount—no—apparently not. Fredrick is not happy with our military units. Fredrick, would you like to see our military units? I can I can definitely show you uh our military might if you'd like to see them, uh cuz perhaps he doesn't believe us. Perhaps he doesn't believe us. And now we've got pathon. We could definitely justify going for a pathon here, so we want to look for rough ground to put it on, uh and this is why we kind of separate the the Odon from the pathon just because we don't want to put the we want to put the Odon around uh City centers, and we want to put the pathon uh around uh around quarters rather. The Odon goes around quarters, and the pathon goes on rough terrain, so anywhere that there's a mine is somewhere that you would want to put this down. So there's a mine over here, so even though that is a mine and it's producing a good amount of production, uh we'll take our citizen out of there, and we can reallocate them as a specialist potentially. This is this is a nice specialist. We'll we'll take that one definitely. We want to be prioritizing our Specialists on uh on the tiles. Actually, we could do—we bother in my mind. I'm just looking at that and thinking, do we bother turning this into a uh into a farming town right now? I think I think we do. I think we just go and we just go put it into a farming Town. That's decent. We're happy with that. This one we'll let it grow one more, and uh we're quite happy with how that is going. We've now picked up another codex, so we're starting to look a little bit a little bit healthier. We're up to four codexes now. You can see we've got plenty of space for them, and uh we'll continue now expanding down towards the South. This one here I think could become a city, though the main issue this one's going to have is production, like that was like what 20 production? That's 18 production. Maybe this actually—this is our city. This is going to become our city. This is uh let's let's throw down our uh our alter here and let's convert this over to—oh, we can't afford a city. Actually, can we afford a city? No, it's 400. We've got—excuse me—Tubman. Tubman, have we got a little bit of a have we got a little bit of a a late game change of heart over here? Why don't you like me, Tu? Is there something that I said? Is it just—oh, it's just because I'm stealing your tiles. Okay, all right, fair enough. I, I respect that. Now we got a lot of cities, so this is actually quite good. So we're going to take that. That's going to pump up our our quite a bit, and the more cities the merrier. We're going to get another codex right here, and we are now going to—so we want to go into Army commanders at the End of the Age just because we can actually take these units with us into the next era. The more army commanders we have, the merer, but we could could look to level them. We can get a plus five adjacency over there. Actually, no, I'm I'm going to take that back. Let me take that back. Can I take that back? I can take that back. Okay, so where is our Odon? Our Odon is here. Uh, so where is the Villa? Have have we've unlocked the Villa right? Oh no, it's—oh, we haven't unlocked it yet. The uh the arena, that's what I was thinking about. I want to put the arena in there so that we've got adjacencies for this guy. Uh, so let's go ahead and do that, and let's move you up. So we've got a good amount of units sitting on this border. Our production has been absolutely crazy, and I, I really think—I mean, if if this video hasn't given you enough evidence about why this is an absolutely uh absolutely—we probably should have been getting that very early plus two culture for Active Endeavors, sanctions, and projects you started and supported. I should have prioritized that earlier. I apologize. That that is a lot of culture. Uh, but yeah, I, I hope that this has been evidence for you as to how powerful Catherine and Greece is. It's one of those things where it's like on the surface you look at it and you think, okay, sure, uh, you know, we can see Isabella. Isabella is crazy overpowered, and we can see that immediately uh with those world wonders that she gets, but this one requires a little bit more depth, a little bit more a little bit more tinkering, but once you get there, I tell you what, it is an absolutely crazy combo that you can pull off. And we'll now turn that over cuz we picked up the silk, and we've got plus—so now that we accept that, does that actually mean that over here? So is that a policy? I don't know if that's a—I think that's—yeah, it's a it's not a policy, it just gives it to us: plus two culture for Active Endeavors, sanctions, and projects you started or supported. So you started or supported, so if if you start it or if you support it, you you still get the two culture. Dude, that's crazy, dude. Why won't we—okay, we got to prioritize that as Greece more often. Like if you look at how many we've got right now, we've got 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Dude, that's 10 culture that we've been missing out on every single turn since like—you could have got—you could have rushed that. We we can make improvements. We can get better at this game, which is kind of crazy to think that, you know, we're already at the top, but we're not even at the peak yet. Let's—did did I—do we just make infantry? I think we we just made infantry right there uh out of uh out of toai, which is kind of crazy. You know, when a city starts making infantry, you're like, okay, it's it's reached its end game. Uh, we've got a little bit—oh, we're going to pump up this Odon right here. We've got a city hall. We'll throw the bath on top of it, and we can also throw the Garden on top of the Brickyard, uh and we can also put something over here as well. We're going to really Stack Up This Odon. We're going to get it as many adjacency bonuses as it possibly can. And speaking of adjacency—well, not really adjy, but speaking of bonuses—let's throw that culture in the city. We'll throw that in in there, and uh things are things are starting to look up. We actually don't have a whole lot of space in here. Are we moving towards that economic Milestone path? We are, but I don't know if we're going to be able to make it because—oh, we could look for lighthouses. We're totally going to have to look for lighthouses to do it. There's no two ways about it. So let's go ahead and let's start thinking about a a market. We could put it on that tile, or we could just put it down here, and I think that's probably going to be the play. Oh, but if we do a market, then we can't do an academy, but oh, but because we placed it—where am I going to put an academy if I was going to put an academy right there? Okay, so we need the the market to connect it anyway. Okay, all right. We don't feel so bad. We don't feel so bad about putting down that market in the first place. Uh, we can now move over a couple more resources into this—let's put—we'll just Chuck in salt, and let's instead put Jade. It it's a tiny little difference, but it it it can it can add up in the end. Okay, so the Border has well and truly been built. The wall is looking strong. The trumps would be proud. And let's go ahead and use that command, and we're just going to make sure we've got
We finished over here. Have you finished absolutely everything? We have. Uh, we're going to be putting a World Wonder down there. It's going to be the Amil Bell. I'm glad that I remembered. And that's going to give us our seventh World Wonder. Actually, no, that'll give us our seventh World Wonder right there as we turn over our next turn. We got two at the same time I think, Anor what B, and we get the Wonders of the World achievement, or at least yeah, yeah, we got it. So we are absolutely progressing out the wazoo here.
Uh, happiness or influence? It's only one influence. This is great in the early game, but now we've got so many cities, so many settlements, that it makes more sense to do that. So that's going to lift us up quite a bit. We'll take the extra uh science and we'll offer it in return. Now we've got a whole bunch of influence in the back pocket. If we went to war at this stage, we would have an absolutely crazy amount of war support that we can just dump in there immediately.
Okay, next turn, it looks like we are probably going to be completing our uh scientific… actually, no, I take that back. Hold on. Do we not have enough? Or maybe we… yeah, never mind. I was thinking that we had Nanda… never mind. We don't have Nanda Monx Mound. That's something I hadn't even considered. Actually, we could still look for Monx Mound. I don't know if it's available. Uh, let's have a look and see whether Monx Mound is still available to build. It is still available to build. All right, I'm coming for you. Are we prioritizing it? We are. We're going for it. We're going to do it.
Pathon. This one is looking for some… we want terrain that is rough for our Pathon, but we don't want to be giving up production. So we're at 53 production; we're not giving up production by doing this. And by building the Pathon on this tile, it now also gives the adjacency to the Odon, which is kind of crazy, cuz you just don't want to build these two together. And then on top of that, we'll then throw the arena uh on top of this. Actually, we could probably just do the market. The Market's going to be five, isn't it, cuz it's got two adjacency down there? Yes. All right, we are getting good at this game, I'm telling you right now. I can feel myself learning and understanding things a lot more efficiently uh than what I previously did, and that's a good thing. Right? You want to be doing that.
More Specialists now coming through, uh, and we can sleep these units. How's he feeling about our army? Cuz he was hating on our army before. Bro, what's wrong with our army? Why don't you like our army? Dude dislikes the one with the smallest number of military units. Does this mean like a scout counts as a military unit? Like, what about a battleship? If I build a battleship, does that count as a military unit, or does that count as like seven military units? Cuz it could, it should count as like seven because it's big, but I suspect it's probably just based on how many military units you've got uh individually, right? Like that's what it's looking at.
Anchor Wat, Anchor is completed. Uh, let's do some walls. I think we can do some funky little walls around here. Uh, and once again, we're going to be looking to prioritize our influence buildings just because they're going to be giving us a very lovely bonus, uh, and that is going to carry on through the ages. So we'll get these up. Don't those walls look amazing with the snow on them? They look really good. You know what? Can we get rid of the… I was going to say let's get rid of the yields, uh, but we accidentally put the… we put the city flag or the city banner back on.
Okay, Anchor is here now. We can start kicking citizens out and putting them out where they actually matter. And you know what's kind of crazy is we've got so many rough terrain tiles and mines in the cap that we never actually… oh, that's a quarry, sorry, on the on the Jade, uh, but we never actually got to like out here. We never got out to here. Like, there was just so many of them that we could never actually get enough citizens to work it. So we're going to go and put it ahead in the blacksmith, or rather in the academy. That's going to be our powerful, our most powerful one there. There's nothing that we can use to kick out just yet. Oh, no! Monx Mound! Oh, where did it go? I missed it. I missed it. We missed Monx Mound, rather. Unfort… yeah, we're not going to be able to get it, so we're just going to power towards our Victory condition right now. I mean, we've already got… what mattered? Right? What mattered was that we were able… so let's go for… we can't put a lighthouse in here, uh, but yeah, I think realistically we've already got… we've got the seven World Wonders. That that was what was important. We managed to do that. That's that's an absolutely beastly city, and you can tell it's a city as well because she's got the second… dude, look at that! What is that? TI Academy, 30 science? What are you hiding? How… how is your Academy 30 science? That's in… is it… is it because of the da bonus, dude? That's crazy. That's a library, that's an academy, dude. What is she cooking? Oh, it's a triple… oh, it's a one, two, three, but that… that's not… has she got… how, dude? I've got my hand on my head right now, like, what is this? Like, how are you… how are you pulling 30 science from a… oh, oh, it's the academy and the library together. Oh, okay. She's she's doubled them up. Okay. All right. Don't worry. Don't worry. We worked it out. We worked it out. I… what I was looking at the walls… I guess I… I don't know. I don't know what I was thinking. Anyway, we worked it out. Uh, in my head I was like, is the AI just getting a crazy bonus to to science? Is that what's happening here? My… my brain was breaking right there.
Okay, so we are almost… we haven't gone into iron working yet, which is a little bit funny. I guess realistically, if you're going to be going to war, then iron working is going to make a lot of sense for you, uh, but uh if you're not, then uh well, it doesn't really do much for you. Let's get some walls up. It's time to begin the the walls. Lighthouse. Throw down the lighthouse out here. And that is another World Wonder that just went… the pyramids! Oh, the pyramids! I forgot about the pyramids. Fredrick getting the pyramids in in 640 BC. Fair enough. And let's go ahead and grab… we'll grab… I mean, at this point, none of these… none of these really matter. Ancient walls and fishing key and the hoplite can hold ground. And now we just want to power through these last turns. We're at turn 76, which is actually quite far through a normal playthrough realistically compared to like other playthroughs that I've done. I think that that is… that… that's quite a… that's quite a long way before you've actually reached the the end here. So let's go ahead. Let's grab all of these final ones. We want… we'll take the extra gold towards that, and we'll also remove the science buildings cuz we're not making any science or producing… oh, we want the resource capacity, which should hopefully allow us to open up our resources. Is that going to give it to us? Oh, we're going to need to get… we're going to need to get Traders, aren't we? Or Merchants. Let's do it. What? Now what can we actually reach? That's another question, cuz we might… we might not be able to reach specific things. Uh, so we'll grab a merchant here and we'll build our walls. What were we building in this town before? It must… must have been walls. Nice little bonuses that we can throw in here at the end of the era. And now we finally move down into our last Technologies. More ancient walls everywhere. They also make it look a lot nicer. Blacksmith. Blacksmith going to go down over here. Beautiful. And we have got… we've got… actually, these are really quite close cities, so it's only natural that you're allowed to trade with them. That's going to be one… oh my! Is that Fredrick? Fredrick, what are you doing, you crazy cat? Look at that! He is expanding out the wazoo. That's a forward settle if I've ever seen. I didn't even realize he was doing it. Uh, that was… he's ahead of his… ahead of his time. That's not… oh, sorry, Lai yet. Lai yet. Apologies. I'm… I'm… I'm sure you will pick that one up. One and still not yet. Didn't we just… I thought we handed in a Trader here. Wait. Oh, did I… did I trade to the wrong place? There's a chance I traded to the wrong place. Let's buy another Merchant and let's have a look. Future Tech is about to come through. Future Civic rather, that pushes us to 92. Oh, let's get a go… go. We didn't get that yet, uh, and we've now got engineering. We'll take… we'll take the extra little bit. Tubman? Is it Tubman? It's Lai yet, I… dude, Tubman was… has been very good this game. I'm incredibly surprised that it's not Tubman. I Can't Believe It's Not Tubman. That… that… that's going to be… that we… we got to turn that into a series. I Can't Believe It's Not Tubman. Uh, Troy somewhere has got something. Troy. Oh, right. Yeah, Troy. I'd forgotten about Troy for a little bit. That's horses. So we want… bedet. How many are we on? Can we double check? We need two. Okay. So if we need to… d… d… where… I don't even see d… d… how is it over here? Maybe that's the play. There's a part of me that thinks… excuse me. There's a part of me that thinks we're probably not going to be able to get… oh, you know what? Go here. We haven't seen the city yet. That's why… that's why. Once we see the city… oh, that's loud. Once we've seen the city, then we'll be able to trade with it. So now we've seen Axom, so we can't trade with it this turn, but next turn we'll be able to trade with it. Uh, let's go ahead and grab… we can go for Specialist here, so we'll grab the Odon and we'll head into future… future Civic and we'll go ahead and grab… we could do a bridge. Where would we put the bridge? Here. All right. Fair enough. Dude, did I see that right? Oh my Lord! Look at that! 15 food coming in on that tile. That is a crazy good tile. And we've also got a bridge over here that we can put in. I don't… I'm pretty sure that that like just runs along… with existing… wait. Why… why are these guys stopped all of a sudden? Is it because they can all be upgr… oh, they got hit by the flood. That's why. Uh, because they got hit by the flood. That's why they're… they all… they've all woken up. Okay, so we filled in the Odon. The library and the blacksmith are also here. Monument and ambid. I think we'll go for the library in the blacksmith again and we'll take the extra point. And we're just… we're Walling out the wazoo here. Let's repair and ancient walls. And now finally a monument in the South. We could go for a monument here, but how much production is this city actually doing? It's doing 36, which isn't a huge amount of production, so there's a part of me that just thinks, you know… no, what? It's not worth it. It's not worth overrunning or or overbuilding that mine. All of these guys here… we're just… we're just going to force and turn on these guys cuz they're all asking for commands, but we don't want to give them a command. Library. Oh, right. It's… we're… wait. It destroyed the library? Wait, what? Hold on. Did… did I… I don't know if you guys saw that, but the ancient walls are like taken over from the the existing Library. They were like, "look at me, I'm the library now," uh, which is not something that we want happening. Does it fix that? Okay, there we go. It did get fixed. So I think that was just repairing it. Maybe… maybe we couldn't repair it, and that's the reason why that happened. Uh, so let's… let's go ahead and continue here. Uh, at this point though, we're… we're just rounding out the clock, and this is the whole thing about like playing into the longer period. Uh, so I'm happy with this. I think we've done well. If we take a look at our final numbers, a final assessment here, uh, we're at 166. Actually, we've… we've still got points that we need to spend. Is this a… I think this might be an extra point. Plus one culture for Specialists, or plus two if you have three or fewer cities. Have we got three or fewer cities? No, we've got four cities, so probably doesn't make a lot of sense going into that just yet. CU. We don't have a lot of Specialists, uh, so I… I think… is this just a free point? I mean, if it's cultural, we might as well stick it with cultural. 10% Alliance for everything… every citizen, or one culture per age in towns, or two in distant lands. We'll just go for this one. I think that makes the most sense. Uh, so final… final numbers. Let's go take a look at them and see what we're at. Where we're at 172. Is that going to be it? And 210 on the culture. With regard to our production, we've got 68 in the cap, which has just been an absolute monster all game. Got 58 in theay. Then we've got 56 in Sparta, in 41 in Miken. Uh, and Argos and Pergamon as well as Corinthos are all supporting into this crazy amount of production. But I think… look, the devs have done well when they said try and keep one town to one city. I think that's 100% accurate. They've… they've done a very nice job uh with… with that recommendation. And every single… every single City's got a feed in, or roughly… you're going… we've got Pergamon out here. We've got Corinthos to the… and Milos comes into the cap, and I think Argos might be as well. We can double check that. Uh, yeah, we can see that it is… it's coming in. So both Milos and Argos are coming through. So let's… let's move forward to the end of the age because on the next turn we're going to be hitting 100% as we reach our last celebration. And that is it. With Future Tech, we now hit 100%, and uh we can… we can take our last Specialist slot, so we'll put it… oh, have a look at that! We'll put it right there. We've still got some buildings that we can build here in the next age, and uh we'll roll it over one last time because, ladies and gentlemen, that is it. On turn 86, we managed to finish with Catherine playing the Greeks. And look, I'm curious what you think about this combination. I'm curious how you feel about it. Is it… does it have that label of overpowered like we've seen what it looks like when you've got… I completely forgot! I completely forgot! Oh, I completely… completely forgot! Oh my Lord! I completely forgot to get the the Legacy path. That's okay. That's all right. If we were going to do this as we pick up level eight now for her, uh, if… if we were going to do this uh in the the next age, who… who would we pick? I don't even know. I don't even want to think about it, man. You know what? Just for the sake of it, let's go into the Normans. So yeah, I'm curious what you think about… does it deserve the title of overpowered, uh, because for me, I think it's overpowered because it's an incredibly powerful combo. The early game allows you to get out there to deny land from the enemy, allows you to produce anything that you want, uh, and production really is the king. But on top of that, the cultural and the scientific Victory type really uh stack quite well with that and bring it all together, tie it in absolutely perfectly. So I… I… I think, you know, going forward here where we would uh play into the exploration age, we would look to make sure that we uh get that extra bonus from our… we made sure that we prioritized them, uh, so we would be going into… where is she? Down here… y… become golden ages. That's what we would look to really uh prioritize, uh, and then that's going to give us a huge amount of power here in this… in this second age. Anyway, that's the video. Hopefully you've enjoyed it. Let me know what you think down below, uh, if you enjoyed it. Uh, let me… feel free to leave a like, and uh we'll catch you in the next one. Thank you very much for watching.
