We made a mistake 50 years ago, and we're still paying the price for it today. We thought the brain was a computer, a digital computer. But you see, the brain has no operating system, it has no programming, it has no windows, it has no CPU, it has no Pentium chip, it has no subroutines. The brain doesn't have anything resembling the brain except neural activity. 50 years later, after this wild goose chase, we now understand that the brain is a pattern-seeking neural network, a learning machine. And it learns and rewires every time it learns something new. For example, your laptop today is just as stupid as it was yesterday.
