[Music] What's up Black Tree TV? I'm Alex Hudgin, and I'm kind of geeking out right now because, as you can see, this is the Batmobile behind me. We are here for The Dark Knight Rises. I am so excited. Can't wait till you guys see this. We got to sit down with Morgan Freeman to see what he thinks about his journey over this trilogy. Let's see what he had to say.
"Now, how is your perception of, of the, the Batman character changed from the beginning until now? Has it changed at all?"
"From what you thought of the character when you first began until now?"
"No. When we first, first began, I, I, I, I, I read the script. The script doesn't do what the movie does. I'm telling you that right now. Uh, I was totally blown away by the idea of how Batman began. Just beautifully, beautifully, beautifully done. Uh, from then till now, it's just been what I would consider normal growth in character."
"I mean, what goes through your mind and your body when you've completed something, especially on such a scale as The Dark Knight franchise?"
"I, I don't want to blow anything up here, but, uh, every time you finish a movie, when they say 'wrap,' you wrap, you know? Done, done, finish. Um, we, we knew, uh, after, uh, Dark Knight, that there would be another one. Okay? We knew that. Um, had a feeling after Batman Begins that that would be another one. All right, fine. But now we know there isn't going to be another one. So, you know, it's just a, it's just a clean, to me, it's just a clean [Music] finish."
"You are as precious to me as you were to your own mother and father. I swore to them that I would protect you, and I haven't."
"The mayor's going to dump him in the spring."
"Really?"
"Mhm."
"But he's a hero. A war hero."
"This is peace time. You think this can last?"
"There's a storm coming, Mr. Wayne. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, 'cause when it hits, you're all going to wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of [Music] us."
"What does that mean, R?"
"When Gotham is ashes, you have my permission to die."
