So last week was uh full of highs and lows. That was one of the highs. The lows, of course, was Charlie Kirk being assassinated. And that's such a sad time and really shows the condition of our nation.
Because Charlie Kirk was not assassinated for his political views. He was assassinated because of his faith. Now, you're not going to hear that from the news commentators, but the reason you're not is because it seemed like most people were drawn to his political views, but his political views came from his faith. He was not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. And it went into these campuses, the belly of the beast, where they're producing all of these liberal young people. And if I were a parent who had young children going to college, I would do my homework and I would tell my kids, "You can go to these schools, you can't go to these schools." Because you wouldn't believe the number of liberal professors who celebrated the death of Charlie Kirk. How sad.
But he would go into the belly of the beast at these universities and he would share Jesus Christ. And of course it would turn political because he based everything he believed on the Bible. And he changed many a young heart and many a young mind. In fact, I'll go as far as to say this. The reason Donald Trump is in the office of the president is because Charlie Kirk. People don't realize that. But he got more of the young vote than he was expected to. He helped him get elected in 2016 and also in 2024 because of the young vote and he's turned many a heart to Jesus Christ. And that's why he was assassinated.
And it's also such a sad time because you saw people celebrate. But I'll tell you what you didn't see. You didn't see cities being torn up by rioters. You didn't see people looting. You didn't see people holding up traffic. You didn't see that from the right. It's not coming from the right people. It's amazing what they accused him of. But those are not the things that he did. We really need to pray for our nation because we're getting very close to the return of Jesus Christ. And people want to know what will heal the division between between people. And there's only one answer. That's Jesus Christ. Amen.
You know, the Bible tells us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. But the Bible also tells us there'll never be any peace until Christ is seated on the throne. When Christ returns, we'll have peace. So when we pay pray for the peace of Jerusalem, what are we really praying for? The return of Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us the closer we get to the end, things will get better and things will get worse. It's a tale of two cities. You're going to see more light. You're going to see more darkness. And you're going to see more distinction between the two. And if what I've said's irritated you, I would go read the Bible and check out what I say and do your own study on Charlie Kirk.
