Today I'm going to clean this conservatory roof. I'll show you how I do it.
It's really quite a green one, quite grubby. So, I'm going to spray it first using the cleaning solution in here. You can use a UPVC cleaner or a TFR. You have to be very careful with the TFR that you don't leave it on the plastic for too long so it discolors it. But we're just going to spray that on first.
You could use a garden sprayer with a small lance. You could use a backpack type sprayer would work just the same. I'm actually just going to use my Anger pole here with a little sprayer from DA components, which goes straight on there. And then I can just unscrew the spray nozzle like that and attach my brush. That will just screw on there.
So, the most difficult part of a conservatory roof is usually the decorative final along the top with it. They're always slightly different, but I'll give that a good scrub up and down, side to side, you know, really work the bristles into all the little gaps and crevices. Usually what I do across the entire roof is kind of agitate the dirt first of all, go over it really quickly, give it all a good soaking and then I'll come back and give it a good scrub once it's had time to kind of soak through and the soapy solution's had a chance to take effect as well and then basically work my way around the roof giving it a good scrub.
Thing is with this roof um down the far side is a bit tight so I've had to do it off the ladder but around the rest of the roof I've been able to do from the ground. So that's really good. Hey, Um, so the other thing is I always increase the flow on my flow. controller water I normally use for domestic window cleaning would be about 25 30 for this I'm increasing the flow to around 50 so I can helps give a good flow to wash away all that dirt I'm using fan jets as well which I prefer on a job like this so once I've clean the whole roof I'll also go around at the end and do the gussering around around the edge and those decorative little bits on the end there be really careful with those they can be quite delicate but Give all that a scrub before then doing the windows underneath.
And I spend a bit of time rinsing as well, trying to make sure there's no grit left on the conservatory, which can make it look a bit untidy at the end. So, gives it a really nice finish. And this one's come up really quite well. So, I'm really pleased. You can get some discoloration in the plastic when there's plastic panels like that. Um, so it's never going to be perfect, but if you look at the before pictures, this one's come up really nice and uh really great result. So, I'm pleased with that.
