How I make money with AI

Hey everyone, Ben here. And today I'm going to show you how I make $62 an hour working from home as an AI freelancer. I live in the US and I work in it, so that's why I was able to land the $62 an hour rate. If you live in another country, the going rate might be different where you live, but hopefully, you can still follow the same steps to get a similar result.

First, I'm going to tell you why 90% of the AI side hustles you see online suck. Most have you setting up something like a faceless YouTube channel that endlessly regurgitates AI-generated information. Do you really want to contribute to the problem of oversaturating the internet with AI-generated garbage? Or do you want to make something that you can be proud of? So don't be like this person here. I mean, they have a coffee mug on the ground; okay, they're a mess.

So how I made my first dollar with AI is by becoming a freelancer on a platform called upwork.com. Upwork connects clients who need work done to freelancers who can do the job. A lot of people are under the false impression that to make money with AI, you need to build a software product and sell it to customers. But in this way, I was able to use my existing expertise to help other businesses. And there is some nuance as far as setting up your Upwork profile goes and how you apply to jobs.

In my case, I basically watched a few videos from Nick Surve on YouTube, and that was all I really needed to get up and running. Nick's method is to apply to three jobs a day with custom video applications where you're actually solving the problem the client is having in the video. And I found that to be really compelling, and you get a really high response rate. This slide is about selling the client the right solution. We could solve one issue in a dozen different ways, but as experts in our field, we want to rightsize the solution for the specific client. So we wouldn't recommend a custom-built chatbot if just learning how to use ChatGPT a little bit better would do.

Here are my two active jobs on Upwork, so you can see my hourly rate. Hourly is fine to start off with before you get some more credibility in this space, but what I really want to do is move to value-based pricing. So that just means packaging your offer based on its value, not hours worked. So if you're good at something, you could probably get it done in a couple of hours, but it might be worth a lot of money to the client. That's where my head is at as far as soon now I'll want to change my pricing model.

So yeah, just wanted to share with you guys some of these tips to show you how I started making money with AI so you can do the same. There's no luck in here; it's just a matter of doing what's required, getting in front of the right customers who are willing to pay you for your expertise. And look, no mugs on the ground. We do have a backwards fist, but we can, you know, ignore that. That's it for today's video. Please like if I was able to help you out. Leave a comment and let me know which area you want me to dive deeper into next time. Subscribe so you don't miss any of my new videos, and I'll see you guys in the next one. Peace.
