In 90% of cases, the necessary information can be found in open sources, since we leave digital footprints daily and only need to know how to discern them. Today I will prove this with a live example. There are many services on the internet that help search for information about a person from open sources. At the end of the video, I will even show you a couple of such. The second method is searching for information in leaked databases. Every day you order food, register, fill out some forms, and all this information is stored on the company's servers. As you know, everything that gets on the internet becomes public property, so every year millions of lines of information about people are leaked or sold on dark web forums. Usually, the most popular are Full Name, phone number, and date of birth. Thanks to such data leaks, you may often receive calls from a dental clinic offering their services, some annoying advertisement, or Vasya Shmyga from correctional colony number two, posing as a bank employee. These leaked databases are actively bought by digging bots. And it is thanks to the famous BobA's eye that teenagers in the last 2 years have started blackmailing ordinary people and extorting money from them. But let's talk about that later. If these two methods did not help find information about a person, then heavy artillery comes into play, namely digging data through government databases. On dark web forums for a small fee, usually around 10,000 rubles, a dishonest police officer or Ministry of Internal Affairs employee can help you dig into a person by looking into their information databases and transferring this data to you. Usually, such services are used in extreme cases. For example, if you have defrauded someone of a large sum of money. So, if you are an ordinary person who has done no harm to anyone, you can even stop worrying, because they are just scaring you. But not only police officers commit such actions, but also employees of mobile operators. For example, for a sum of about 5,000 rubles, an employee of a hypothetical2 can gain access to the company's databases and find out who a particular phone number is registered to. We won't name names, but the point is that some person who watched his videos started threatening him for no reason. He wrote comments that he would find him with his buddies and make him kneel. All that was known about our passenger was his YouTube channel with one video and his Telegram. There were no photos of his face anywhere, so a photo search wouldn't work, and we needed to look for clues elsewhere. In this matter, the main thing is logic and deduction, which will help find traces and identify our internet hero. Obviously, first of all, I started looking for information on Telegram, but unfortunately, nothing was found in the leaked databases, so I had to move on. I tried entering his YouTube and Telegram usernames into Google. I used various services to find out where else he was registered under these names, but I found nothing, although in the end, the clue was on the surface. In the description of his YouTube channel, there was a link with the caption "friend's channel," which he probably added a long time ago and forgot to remove. Upon visiting his friend's channel, I discovered videos from ten years ago with game let's plays. Since our internet hero left a link to his friend in the description, it's likely that he somehow appeared in his videos. And indeed, in one of the video recordings made on an old phone, his friend provided a link to our passenger's channel and labeled it "Kirya's channel." Great. Now we have some piece of the puzzle, and we know that his name is Kirill. Next, I took simple steps. In one of his friend's videos, he provided a link to his VKontakte page. Now we needed to find out which city his friend was from. This can be done very easily by looking at where most of his friends are from and from which cities people most often like his profile. And the simplest thing remains: to find our Kirill among his friends, who lives in the same city, which is what I did. Done. Now all that remains is to enter our passenger's page into the database bots and find all the information about him, from his phone number and parents' names to the address where he lives. If you're interested, I checked his page through the Bestsin bot, where you can find information on full name, phone number, and social media. Plus, there's a feature that can track which TG chats a person is in and what messages they've written there. I know cases where some guys or girls found out about betrayals or lies of their loved ones this way. So, if you decide to use this, prepare yourself mentally. But the most important thing is that there is a large database of VK and Odnoklassniki pages, which helped us find our internet hero. This, by the way, is one of the main problems with VK. If you still use VKontakte or were registered there, I don't envy you. In just a couple of minutes, absolutely all information about you can be found. Unfortunately, VK is not very responsible regarding the confidentiality of its users, as it is probably with its entire platform. Therefore, if you still have a VK page, I would recommend deleting it. But how can it be that your data, phone numbers, addresses can leak into the open internet? It happens quite simply. A person engaged in selling databases on dark web forums sends emails to employees of large companies like VK, Yandex, and so on. Under the guise of a boss, he gains trust and asks them to log into a specific website from their work PC or download something. After that, the "lamer" downloads user databases and sells them on the internet. Although it happens differently. For example, some dishonest employee might download user data to sell it themselves later. Or someone with money might contact him and recruit him for a specific task. As a result, your address, where you order your shawarma every day, will be in plain sight for everyone. But how can you protect yourself from doxing? There are many ways, but the most effective is to live a double life. And this is precisely what almost everyone involved in illegal activities uses. Firstly, everywhere you are registered, try to use different names. For example, when ordering food delivery, indicate an address that is a couple of minutes' walk from you, and instead of your real name, write someone else's, but a real name. Similarly, create alternative identities for social networks and register on various websites under them. It is desirable that each of your identities has its own date of birth. This will help confuse those who try to find information about you. However, if you have remaining digital footprints that cannot be deleted, and you are engaged in illegal activities, for example, you own a scam team on Telegram and find out that doxing is being prepared against you, you can resort to an interesting trick. You need to order a fake doxing of yourself, which can include some real information for credibility, but the rest of the info needs to be made up. Then you can upload it to a platform where doxes are published and advertise it from someone else's account to create the impression that it is indeed your data. This way, you can mislead ill-wishers and lead them on a false trail. But let's imagine that you are a teenager, about fifteen years old, and you met a stranger on the internet who suddenly started threatening you with the leak of your personal data. First of all, remember one thing. If you haven't done anything wrong, relax. Most likely, this is just a person who tries to earn money every day from dozens like you. If you are threatened with gossip at work or school, just block this person and don't worry. The main thing is to show that you are not broken. This blackmailer definitely has a lot of victims whom he is currently trying to process, and he is simply looking for the most stress-resistant person from whom he can extort money. If, God forbid, you have sent intimate photos to someone, do not panic. Even if they end up online or with your acquaintances, it's not the end of the world. It is important not to panic and to show the blackmailer that he has no leverage over you. If you still give in to his demands, send him money, or, God forbid, record a humiliating video, be prepared that they will continue to milk you for dollars. Because if you give in once, you will likely give in a second time. The third outcome of events is if someone threatens you with swatting. First, let's clarify. For those who don't know what swatting is and how it works. Two years ago, swatting started gaining much more popularity due to people who wanted to feel power over others. Then SWAT was ordered for almost all bloggers and streamers. All that was needed for this was a Skype account with a balance, purchased from a third-party service. A good proxy and a dedicated server. Where this Skype was installed. Some also used Voice Morph to change their voice, after which swatters would call the police or schools on behalf of another person and report an alleged terrorist attack. Then the police would burst into the victim's house and cause them inconvenience for at least a couple of hours. So, I repeat again, if you have not committed any improper actions, you can even not worry. If you get swatted, all you need to do is behave adequately and explain that you were threatened on the internet, and also ask to have your name added to a whitelist so that this does not happen again. Or you can tell your blackmailer that you have already been swatted several times and your name has long been on the police whitelist. He is unlikely to waste his time on you after these words, as such guys are caught long ago, and the police are well aware of such incidents. Something can truly threaten you only in three cases. First, if you have defrauded someone of money, which, in principle, is logical, what did you expect? Second, if you are a pedophile, I hope I don't have such viewers, or if you have wronged or threatened someone yourself. Only in these three cases do I consider it justified to use information search services to act against a scoundrel. If you fall under these three points, then most likely nothing will help you, and wait for your doxing on the internet. But information search can also be used for useful purposes. For example, if you use dating services. On such platforms, you often encounter scammers with fake accounts who try to deceive you, so as not to waste time and not discover that you have been communicating with some man from Saratov for two weeks instead of the beautiful girl Anastasia. There are services that help find information in the public domain. For example, the first service, FindClone, can help find a person's social media pages by their photos and facial biometrics. It's great for checking photos for fakes. The second service is OSINT. An interesting tool on Python that can help find a person's email address on Instagram. But there is an even more powerful service called IntelTechnics, which can scan literally the entire internet, documents, and PDF files, trying to find the names you are looking for. With its help, you can find court cases or find out where a person studied or worked. And the last interesting service is called Exiftool. If you didn't know, every photo on your phone has metadata that contains information about the location, time, and device on which the photo was taken. Not all social networks clean metadata, and many people don't think about deleting it. Therefore, if an anonymous person sends you some photos, you can find out where and when it was taken.
