Uh, she wants to tell you how to do your job. You're saying no. No. Look, she has moved the goalpost millions of times throughout this entire process, then fires out an email attacking me today, accusing me of moving the goalpost, and she's the one who's tried to move the goalpost again.
On X, former President Clinton declared he wants a public hearing and will not be used as a quote prop in a closed-door kangaroo court. If they still want some more oversight, then I think the members of my committee would love to have them in for a public hearing. So, uh, we're we're we're fine with that.
It's hard for Trump to say that the Epstein files are all about a partisan attack on him when his political rivals, or at least they were until he started to cozy up to them, are willing to sit in public and talk about the fact that yes, all the files should be released.
It does set the precedent. I mean, you know, President Trump was subpoenaed during uh the January 6th investigations and didn't come in. I think the unintended consequence will be uh that this will open up more sort of scrutiny of former presidents and the ability to bring in former presidents.
Now, the DOJ lets members view unredacted Epstein files on Monday. Also Monday, lawmakers depose Galain Maxwell virtually. She could invoke the fifth. Brett, the Republicans on the House Oversight Committee sent a subpoena to Bill and Hillary Clinton, telling them that they needed to tell them what they know about the Epstein files. Well, they thought that was going to be some sort of an embarrassing tactic that shifted the foot onto the Democrats, that the Democrats weren't willing to comply. Thankfully, Bill and Hillary Clinton played into their game and said, "Not only are we willing to testify, but we will do so in public." And questioning why the Republicans on the House Oversight Committee wouldn't want to do this in public when this is supposed to be all about transparency and getting to the bottom of the truth. Bill, Bill and Hillary Clinton putting out posts calling on COMR to in fact make their testimony public.
Now, here we have Hillary Clinton in addition to Bill Clinton. I think it's ironic why they're having Hillary Clinton testify at all. I mean, yes, we know that Bill Clinton is in the files, and I for one hope that he says everything he knows, regardless of how it looks about him, regardless of how guilty it makes him sound or look, because the victims deserve justice and the truth. But why even bring Hillary at all just because she happens to be married to somebody who's in the files? Well, if you're looking to bring in spouses, perhaps they should be bringing in Melinda Gates, who doesn't seem to have a trouble talking about this, just answering questions recently about what was in the Epstein files related to Bill Gates and whether or not he did or didn't slip her antibiotics because of an STD he may have acquired. She says that even talking about this makes her feel so sad for Epstein's victims and brings back really bad memories about her marriage. If they were going after spouses, perhaps she's the one they should be asking to come because she seems actually willing to talk about what she knows. Take a listen.
The emails in the files suggest that Bill Gates had additional affairs and that he tried to get medication to treat a sexually transmitted infection and that he was going to give you the medicine without you knowing. His representative has said all of this is false. It is not on you to have to respond to the details of that alleged behavior. But I I wonder what your dominant emotion is when you read these news articles with these details. Sad. Just unbelievable sadness. Unbelievable sadness. Right. Um and again, I'm able to take my own sadness and look at those young girls and say, "My god, how did they h How did that happen to those girls? Right? And so for me, it's just sadness. Sadness for, you know, I I've left I had to I left my marriage. I had to leave my marriage. I wanted to leave my marriage. I had to leave the I felt I needed to eventually leave the foundation. So, it's just sad. That's the truth, right? And and it's kind of like uh at least for me, I've been able to move on in life.
We know Bill and Hillary's move, the willingness to come and testify and do it publicly is rattling people, specifically rattling Trump. I mean, Trump is now singing Bill Clinton's praises, saying how much he understoods each other, like as if they're having this long bromance.
NBC News broke the story today, I don't know if you saw it, that the Democrats are already saying, "If you bring President Bill Clinton and he has to testify, we're bringing President Trump." What do you say to I I think they might say that, you know, but they've already brought me. See, I've been brought uh they had me indicted uh many many times. Many many times.
And the president had some surprising thoughts about former President Bill Clinton. It bothers me that somebody's going after Bill Clinton. See, I like Bill Clinton. I still like Bill Clinton. What do you like about him? Uh I liked Well, I [snorts] liked his behavior toward me. I thought he got me. He understood me. You know, he was the one that said very famously that you don't want to run against Trump when there were 18 people. It was 18 people including me total. And he kept telling them, "You don't want to run against Trump. Run against anyone. Don't run against Trump." And Hillary sort of laughed at him.
Sounds like somebody who's afraid to hear what Bill Clinton is going to testify to would say. I mean, Trump never compliments anybody unless it's somehow going to benefit him. But even more so, the whole idea that a former president is willing to come and testify breaks down the barriers for others to come and testify. We have long and for too long give difference to the office of the president. Merrick Garland took way too long to appoint a special counsel to look into January 6 and the classified documents case. He took way too long because Trump was a former president. If he were a former congressperson, that wouldn't have taken so long. We have long deferred to the office of the president. And so, Bill Clinton could have leaned into that tradition. By him not doing that, his willingness to go and testify breaks down a barrier and would make it easier for Congress to subpoena former presidents or current presidents and also puts more pressure on others, even foreign people who are in the files. There is pressure in the UK for former Prince Andrew to come and testify to Congress and tell Congress what he knows. Not that they could subpoena him, but for him to willingly do it. When you have somebody who used to hold the office of the president, willing to go to Congress and speak about what he knows, you he opens the door to have somebody like Andrew no longer be able to say, "Well, I'm, you know, part of the royal family, used to be the prince. I shouldn't demean myself and go speak in front of Congress or any other international leader anywhere." I don't know if the former prime minister of Israel who's in there would be willing to testify as well, but it breaks down that barrier and for that reason Trump is rattled and for that reason Trump is cozying up to Bill.
Today we heard that the Clinton set deposition dates to testify before the House Oversight Committee. Any reaction to that in related question? I think it's a shame to be honest. I always liked him her Yeah. one of you. She's a very capable woman. She was better in debating than some of the other people. I will tell you that she was smarter, smart woman. I hate to say it in many ways. I hate to see it, but you know, then I look at me, they went after me like uh, you know, they wanted me to go to jail for the rest of my life. Then it turned out I was innocent, very innocent. You know, I had a friend that said I had a very smart friend, he's very wealthy man, knows the life, street wise guy. He said, 'You have to be the most honest person anywhere in the world because there's never been anybody who's been examined up and down. You know, I have hundreds of thousands of pages of documents, millions of pages, millions of pages. With all of that, they found absolutely nothing wrong. Remember his tax returns? Oh, his tax returns. They fought for years and years. And then the Supreme Court, I was surprised, they ruled I had to give my tax returns. I'm the only one that had to ever do that. But I had to give my tax returns. I gave my tax returns. They hired the best accounting firms in the world. They found nothing.
