I'm going to show you five online certifications that are actually worth it because most advice that you see is complete. Oh, just take this course and make a lot of money, but it never works and not all certifications are the same. And yes, some are truly amazing, while others are just a complete waste of time. These top five are based on my own experiences, research, actual data, and what skills are paying people right now and in the future as well.
So, first up is Liberty Mutual Insurance Sales Agent Professional Certificate. That is a long name and it sounds really, really boring. I get it. But insurance sales is basically where an agent harasses you over the phone and tries to get you to sign up to an expensive insurance plan. And when you finally give in, they make a ton of money because they get commissions every time they sell something to you. That's why they really want to sell something to you. Now, the best thing is this job can be done 100% remotely and it does not require any degree or experience to start. Plus, the potential upside is very high because of the commissions. Of course, not guaranteed. If you're a terrible salesperson, you're not going to get any commissions. But wait a second. I totally get it. Most of us don't want to sell on the phone. We don't want to be sleazy salespeople, but this course can actually teach you exactly what salespeople do to sell packages worth over 10 or basically over tens of thousands of dollars over a lifetime. It's kind of like a master class on real world selling and what actually works in the real world. And so if you're going to start a business, if you're going to write a resume, if you're going to land a new client, it's all about selling. And even though these guys are little bit sleazy, these guys know how to sell. So eight out of 10.
All right, next up is IBM data engineering. And a quick disclaimer here, data jobs are among the best remote opportunities available. They offer high salaries are in demand and the field itself is constantly growing. Plus you can actually start in data without experience. But what I find is that many people want to become data analysts which is a very cool job. But the interesting thing is that data engineers typically earn twice as much as a data analyst. And that's according to glassd door.com. But nobody cares about this job because it's not as sexy as the data analyst or maybe fancy I should say to keep this familyfriendly. Now IBM has a course for literal beginners to learn data engineering which is one of the highest paying skills especially in data but just overall out there in 2026. So here's how it works. The course takes 6 months at only 10 hours per week. If you can spend more time that's great. You can do it faster and within a few weeks. And if you're thinking okay what's data engineering? Why do I need to care about this? Data engineering is kind of like the backbone of every company. Analysts, they will analyze the data. Surprise, surprise. But how are they able to do that? Well, it's because of the data engineers. So data engineers ensure that data is available in the right place in the right format. So think of it kind of like building the foundation of the pyramid where data engineers are here, data analysts up here, and data engineers are basically lurking in the shadows. But without them, all the big companies that you see would not work. And so that's why this job is so future proof, highpaying, and pretty reliable, especially in this job market. But yes, I'm going to be honest, it's going to take some time to learn. It's pretty technical. It's pretty difficult, and that's the truth. But in my opinion, it's completely worth the pain. So 8 out of 10.
On the other hand, next up is a course that requires no tech skills, no math, and no numbers. Sounds good. It's metaocial media marketing. Now, this isn't about dancing on Tik Tok, and it's not about doom scrolling all day on your phone, either. These apps are really crazy nowadays. Like, I get stuck scrolling all the time, unfortunately. But in this course, you're going to learn the key skills to work with social media, and social media is kind of the perfect remote job. You can get a regular job, you can start a business, or you can even dance on TikTok. I mean, that's a possibility, and I don't want to crush any dreams here. So, over half a million people have already enrolled in this program and it's five months at 10 hours per week, beginner friendly, top rated, 4.8 stars from thousands of reviews. I'm not going to bore you with all the details, but the course is pretty simple. It covers what to post, social media ads, analytics, and running marketing campaigns on social media. And so, the best part about this and social media in general is you don't need any experience or a formal degree. It's definitely one of the few fields that prioritizes skills over credentials. So if you do have the skills, you can simply jump right in. Of course, depending on the company. And the final part of the program is a capstone project where you do a realworld tasks and build an actual portfolio, which employers love when you have real world skills and a real world portfolio. Now, there's a billion courses on social media marketing. I'll be honest. Why take this one? First of all, well, it's from Meta. you know, Meta, the company behind Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, Threads, and yeah, they kind of own like half the social media space. So, if you can learn from them, you're going to learn their tools. You are very employable and the skills actually mean something. 8.5 out of 10.
All right, moving to Microsoft Cloud Support Associate. First question for you, do you know what IT support is? Probably yes. Second question, does that sound really boring? Probably yes, too. Now, cloud support is kind of like IT support, but salaries are twice as high. Sounds more interesting now. Yeah. The skills are also highly in demand. That's why the salaries are high. And if you can get into this field while it's still pretty early, it is one of the best opportunities in 2026, guaranteed. But what is cloud support, Lucas? You're still a support person, but you're helping solve cloud support problems. You don't do random computer stuff or when a printer is broken. You fix cloud problems. Now, of course, we got to clear up what is cloud before we talk about cloud problems. So, companies used to have these like large data centers where they would store all of their information and do all their processing. They can break things fall apart and it's very expensive and messy to maintain especially for big or small companies to be honest. Instead nowadays they can buy the resources that they need from somebody like Google who runs these massive data centers who can just basically lend resources to other companies when they need them. And this cloud solution lets companies save money and only pay for what they really need. And it lets them scale up and down as they need really quickly. And it's also kind of more secure because Google puts massive effort and money into security and maintaining all of it. And I guess the best part, it's so simple. They don't need to manage all of this data center stuff themselves. They can just let Google fix it for them. Which means a company can go back to being a business instead of having to be a whole data center, too. But here's the problem, okay? They are still relying on all this tech to work. And they need somebody who manages it, who makes it work internally, connects everything, fixes problems because as you can guess a lot of problems arise and that is you, the cloud support person. Now you don't need to build all this stuff and all the complicated tech. That is for a cloud engineer which is kind of a similar role but more focusing on building the thing. You just follow the instructions and fix the problems and support as needed. It's definitely not the easiest but in my opinion definitely worth it. 9 out of 10.
Now, moving on, the next one is not going to be in it. No computers, no techy stuff, but it's real, honest work, or it's real at least, and that's the init academy bookkeeping certificate. Wait, before you scream, "No, not bookkeeping." Let me explain. This is kind of different at least. You're most likely thinking of an accountant who does all the complicated stuff, the tax returns. I don't know. I'm not an accountant. But a bookkeeper is a job that you can start without a degree. Yes, I'm serious. If you want, go ahead and pause the video and look it up yourself. It only requires some basic training. And this course is basic training. Now, what's a bookkeeper if it's so simple? Well, a bookkeeper writes down all the money that comes into a business and all the money that goes out of the business. So, income and expenses. They write it down. They document it or also known as bookkeep. It helps companies know how they're doing, if their finances are okay during the year. And it's often required by law as well to kind of keep track of companies and if they're actually paying their taxes. So yes, they need to hire bookkeepers. In it owns one of the top accounting softwares out there. So you're actually learning straight from the source and a very credible source. And also over 200,000 people have already started this one and reviews are looking very good so far. And it only takes 2 months at 10 hours per week or 2 weeks if you do it fulltime, which is very good. I'm not going to bore you with all the details, but I'm just going to go over it really, really quickly. So, first, bookkeeping basics, then assets in accounting, liabilities, equity, financial statements. Sounds really complicated, and yeah, it is kind of boring, but you will learn it step by step. And it's a pretty good career. So, 8.5 out of 10.
