[Music] hey guys Johnny Deville here and today I decided to take part in America's greatest pastime. yes, that's right. decided to go to the mall and like the title says, this is not just any ordinary mall, but this mall is a dude.
so I'm in the dead mall of Collin Creek and right now, I think they're trying to renovate it and try to get some life back to it, but right now it's pretty much dead. but they've got workers here, so it's not as spooky as it could be. here is paramount jewelers. they have any jewelry in there? nope. you can see all the display tables and what-have-you. a dream hair boutique right there. oh, let's go to amazing Jake's food and fun. this might have been where it had arcade games and pizza and hamburgers for kids and people had fun, like the name says, man.
this mall just goes on and on and on and everything is vacant. they pretty much took down all the signs. you can't tell what was what. some some signs still are on there, but other than that, they probably were long gone for several years. there was some kind of like smoothie or pretzel shop right here. I'm in a smoothie store. I am in the smoothie store. we got their sink. oh gosh, you know what? if there weren't walkers, people walking around and a few shops that were open, it would really be spooky in here, like the kitchen back here. I'm not lying.
but since they got a radio plan through here because people do walk in here and I'm, you know, I've been seeing them and I've seen a few workers and they maybe have five stores open, like a Ray-Ban store, LensCrafters, and a few others. other than that, it is all dead. so far down this little hall, they have a LensCrafters and that is the only thing that's open. the only reason that's open is because everybody needs to get their eyes checked and so that's the only thing reason I can figure that out why they would be open compared to everything else around here. oh, and around the corner, there's also a a Ray-Ban sunglasses store open. I stand corrected. I just saw that Ray-Ban sign and I thought it was a Ray-Ban store, but actually it's part of the LensCrafters, so I was wrong.
here in the Collin Creek Mall, this mall was established in 1981 and I'm not sure when it started dying, but it's dead and I've said that over and over again because this is a good things remembered. oh yeah, yeah, I remember that cash register right there and that, I remember that thing right over there, that ladder. I remember that. this store does not lie because these are things I remember. there's a little water fountain that they used to have down here on the bottom floor. I'm very sure several kids probably fell in here at various times from 1981 till now.
here's the relaxation station in it and they're either still open or they just left everything. look at this. I hope they're not open. they just didn't take it all with them. look, it's to be like probably a massage place or something. it's so strange to think at one time the mall was the place to go, the place to run around with your friends, the place to go find some of the coolest toy stores as a kid and now they're just dying all around you. one time they were the thing and now they are not.
they are actually planning to bulldoze some of this down and I think they are gonna build some new things to hopefully attract, you know, attract people. I guess having a mall like this isn't attractive anymore, so I don't know. so I wanted to get here before it was bulldozed and before all these great memories from '81 to now are destroyed. just think, at one time all this parking lot was full to the brim with happy shoppers, kids, and families going into the mall. now it's totally empty, dude.
