I showed you all the different window cleaning solutions and chemicals that I've used in my time cleaning windows. And so now I wanted to show you some of the spray equipment to apply a lot of those cleaning solutions and chemicals. So, I think especially since I've moved into pure water window cleaning, I found that spray equipment has been really, really essential in the exterior cleaning work that I do. Not just windows, but conservatory roof cleaning, fascia cleaning, some of the driveway cleaning that I do, paving, and even roof cleaning, things like that. So, I wanted to look at some of the different spray equipment I've used. Hopefully help you get an overview of some of the different things that are out there and available.
So, to start with, the good old spray bottle is probably the simplest, easiest way of applying a cleaning solution. So, I keep a couple of these in my van. I often use something like this, the Titan Green, which I showed in my previous video. It's just a little bit stronger than my usual window cleaning solution that I use. So, if there's the odd window that has got something stubborn on there, just a quick spray of that and just put something a bit stronger on the window to deal with that situation. So, I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that's the number one easiest way of spraying an extra cleaning soap on on the window, but can be a bit labor intensive. If you've got a lot of windows or a bigger area to spray, obviously you're going to uh wear out your hand in no time using one of those.
So, the next thing to come across is a good garden sprayer like this. These are really great. You fill it with whatever you need. You can just pump the top. Get a few pumps of that going. Once you press the button, you just get a good constant spray. There you go. You can spray a big area much more quickly and easily. And these are cheap or maybe garden store, something like that. And you can get garden sprayers in all different sizes. You know, you get the taller ones that might come with a small lance. I had a really good one for a long time, a hose lock garden sprayer that had a nice little lance on it and I used to use it quite a lot for spraying conservatory roofs with a cleaning solution when I was cleaning conservatory roofs. So, that's a really good solution and they're not very expensive as well. Pure Water Window Cleaners, I'm sure they'll tell you it's good to have a a garden sprayer handy.
So, moving on to some things that are a bit bigger. You might have seen been using the ionic constant flow. There's a number of different window cleaning spray equipment that are similar to this. I suppose you might alternatively use the gardener backpack sprayer which is 25 L container has a pump built into it and uh you flick the switch it sprays it through. So this is essentially similar setup. The difference being I guess it's a bit smaller and more compact. The batter is on the front here. You can just remove it really easily like that and has a little socket on the side to charge the battery. I just connect it to my waterfed pole window cleaning equipment. It also if you want to connect it to the Ionx pole system, they have their own spray nozzle that goes along with this just there. I quite often just connect it to whatever waterfed pole I prefer to use that I happen to be using. I can just grab this Plug it into there. Once you turn it on, it just keeps that flow of constant flow constantly flowing. Basically, just connect it up to my brush. It will spray out of the jets in the brush. And then I swap it over once I've sprayed on enough solution to my pure water coming from the van in my case and then give it a clean and and wash and carry out the job, whatever I'm doing. So, it's really good like that.
The problem I have had with this, I have a bit of a lovehate relationship with this thing because first of all, it is painfully expensive. And I don't know why it should be so expensive because look at this. That supposed to be along the bottom. It's broken, fallen off. This bit supposed to be on here. You can put a lance in there or what? Tuck tuck this in there. Whatever. It's broken off. So, that makes me nervous about this rest of this pump section here. It makes me think, how long before this breaks, you know? So, so that puts me in a bad mood with this thing already because I'm thinking, well, I can get a gardener backpack sprayer. Other window cleaning suppliers do a similar type of backpack sprayer. So, why is it so expensive and there's bits falling off it? I would say there's other cheaper alternatives out there that will work in a similar way. It's really useful for a waterfed pole window cleaner to have some way of spraying some soapy solution on the glass if need be or on a fascia or or conservatory roof if that's a service you want to offer.
So anyway, I started using my pump system here that I used to use for window cleaning before I had the van mounted system. just consists of the battery pump here with in andout hoses and the controller on the back here. So, this is got a bit more power behind it, 5 L a minute, but all the other wiring and fuse and everything is all in this box here. And the instructions to connect it all together came with the controller. So, that was quite straightforward to put together. I don't need such a big battery to be honest. So, that was another little mistake I made there. you can make do with a smaller battery. And usually I leave this on the van. I've got a hose long enough to reach the job if I park close enough to the job. But it wouldn't be difficult actually to put a couple of wheels on it, make it into a little trolley. Or some people put this kind of thing mounted on like a sack barrerow. That would be one way of doing it as well. So I used to use this for waterfed pole window cleaning. Now I use it for pumping a bside or a chemical onto a roof after I've cleaned a roof of moss. Um can use it for that.
So for this, a sprayer like this one from DA components and it just goes on a euro thread. So I can then connect it to the waterfed pole I want to use. Or you might find it useful to use a gooseeneck like this one. So you can change the angle. Again, that's just got a euro thread and that will go straight on there. And then your small hose goes onto there and you can connect it up. I've got a brand new piece of spray equipment. Is this piece of spray equipment called a Gloria. So, this super heavyduty stainless steel heavy duty hose, the Lance brass lance all metal construction. Had my eye on this for a while. The reason I got this was cuz I broke my hose lock garden sprayer, which I'd had for years. So, I had my eye on this one because it's these are obviously heavyduty industrial kind of standard Germanade. Really nice as you can see. Look, it's all metal. And it's even got a gauge on the top there. Actually pumps up to six bar. So, really powerful pump. And this is good for spraying more heavy duty chemicals. the seals and everything are more robust to cope with more heavyduty chemicals. So, what I had in mind for this was to use it for maybe sanitizing applications. The window cleaning suppliers are starting to supply sanitizing equipment and chemicals, but I did want to offer some sort of sanitizing service to my customers cuz I do a number of I do a couple of pubs, um, some commercial offices, some some bits and pieces like that. These premises have to have a sanitization application of some sort, maybe even on a regular basis. I could offer that along with the window cleaning or or whatever else I'm doing for those customers. So, that's one reason I wanted to get into this. I wanted to get something that looked reasonably professional as well.
So, that is that that's quite a wide range of different spray equipment for different applications. So, I hope that helps you get a good idea of what you might need in your business or or for a particular application that you're using.
