PATIENCE (VOLUME 1)||DGC SERMONS|| LAWRENCE OYOR

Transcription

We started a series last week on what patience. Let's do a quick review for those who are not on ground. We defined patience. What is patience, you say? What patience is the capacity to accept and we said, or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting what? Angry or upset.

Another interesting statement we made was that the world is moving faster and faster, by the decade, by the year, by the month, by the minutes. So next year, one of the signs that we have developed further as a world is that things will be happening faster. Right? Communication is quicker than ever, smoother than ever, sharper than ever. Movement is faster than ever. There are trains in China that move almost as quickly as planes, bullet trains. People are moving underwater, moving by train, all manner of developments. So very quickly, a person can finish business in Tokyo and decide to quickly rush to another city and continue. You can have two workplaces, three workplaces, and is there physically? COVID came and even changed the game even further, right? So right now, you can be in three, four, five meetings in one day in your house. Are you getting the picture?

What this is doing, however, is that it is dousing our capacity to be what? Patient. I will use an illustration last week of what it used to be in Nigeria. When you remember the illustration when our parents, you know, were in relationship and that their environment and experiences, they loaded patience into them and literally preserved their relationships. And even in marriage, there was a capacity to endure hardship. Are you getting what I'm saying? So the kind of life you were grown by can determine how much you can endure, just like the feeding of a person can determine the strength of the person. Are you getting a picture? So also, you can feed your impatience, you can feed your patience. So their patience was well-fed by how much, you know, will I say, sluggishness you have to endure in life. Just to write a letter for your babe to get it might take two weeks, it might take three weeks or more before your letter has arrived. So the person reads your letter, writes another letter and replies and sends, and it will get to the person in two weeks also. And that's how they were relating until they got married. So they will be used to somebody traveling and you don't hear from the person. Are you guessing what I'm saying? It's not strange.

But as the years went by, we became less and less patient with communication, for example, just using that as an example. Such that it's possible for us to send a message now and already be angry in five minutes, right? Yes or no? Now, like we call me, ABI, did I say that correctly? We celebrate my wife. You want to learn your language, the fastest way is what? Marry from the language. So we call me. Okay, uh, yeah, that's, that's exactly what I said. I'm the same thing I said. So basically, people's patience level and tolerance level has dropped because of the experiences in our lives, right? But this is a message God is sending to us in this season as disciples of Jesus, because the scriptures do not change. The time has changed, scripture does not change. The geography has changed, the scripture does not follow tradition. It is tradition that you follow what scriptures. Sin is sin in Jamaica, in America, in Russia, in China, in Nigeria. The word of God is the truth, and every cultural tradition, every man should be a liar when set aside by the word of God.

So increasingly, we are going to have a reason to be impatient because as long as we're in this world, we are under time, right? So we said last week also that something is making us to be impatient, and that is pressure. And pressure comes from the fact that there is what? Time. This time, if there was no time, there's no. And that's why you notice once you know you have more time, pressure disappears. Have you been there before? We were rushing, rushing, rushing, rushing, you know, maybe to come to church, for example. You're a Russian, pick this up, it's almost late. And then suddenly you just saw that you woke up one hour early. Ah, what kind of mistake is this? It's still 8 AM. Suddenly you might notice that you have walked to your room and come out without doing anything. Exactly. You have entered slow motion. Are you getting what I'm saying? Your mind starts thinking slowly, everything is slow. Now you are trying to see how you can even waste the time because you have time and you can still be late for church. Yes or no? Celebrate Jesus forever. So that's the power of, you know, being conscious of time. That pressure you feel is time that did it. If there was no time, there would be no pressure. All the pressure you're feeling in your life, God is not feeling it. That's what I'm trying to say. Jesus had to come to the Earth so he can learn time because if you did not know time, he cannot be a faithful and worthy intercessor for those who are bound by what? Time. So now when you are saying I'm 20 something and I know you're married, he can now understand because if you're even looking at the script yourself, you'll find out that people married much, much later. And that was not their prayer point, right? For example, Sarah. Right? There are people who married late and they didn't have any challenge with anything like pressure. But as because of course, they could give birth. Have you noticed that? That's how it was in Genesis. People kept giving birth, right? Right from the time of Eve, people can give birth at 150, you can give birth at 200, at 300, age 300, 400. And it kept on reducing in the age now, call it. But it got to a point where as a people now, a person is under, of course, biology is telling you the time, society is telling you the time. I'm recapping on last week. So the time you were not feeling pressured about before, as it begins to draw close to that boundary that we have all agreed is the time, are you getting what I'm saying? We start having a challenge. So I asked you last week, who is dictating time for you? Because pressure is not necessary if you know what your purpose is and the timing for your purpose, right? Or every month, actually, everybody's sitting down listening to me right now is not conscious of their book. And because you're not conscious of your book, you can't even be conscious of the timing of fulfillment of your book. Jesus was time conscious. And the only pressure he would ever feel was pressure coming from his book. Can you say with me, I have a book? A book of my destiny with time. What's the word I use now? Ah, time. A lot. I wanted to use like time, time. Huh? Timelines. Thank you. With timelines allotted to each chapter of manifestation. Is somebody hearing what I'm saying? Against someone, the word of knowledge yesterday in Lagos, I saw him. The night before, he was part of the protocol of the fellowship, SCF. I saw him the night before, like somebody that should be outside the country or not just really based there, but have something to do with travel. I push it aside. I said, I think I will see you the next day ministering again. I saw it twice. So I was very certain that this guy needs to be aware of this thing. So I mentioned it to him. It has never crossed his mind ever. And I don't like being the first to give information to a person. I should be the one confirming, right? If you have an active walk with your Jesus. So he said he has never been told that. He has never come to his mind. But because I was sure of what I was receiving, I said, let me probe for that. Let me pick another detail to be certain. Is this person they are talking about? So I asked him, after he went to a private school, he said, yes, it's easy that they are talking about you are supposed to be aware of this information by now. So then it dawned on me that he is maybe two, three chapters away from the chapter I'm referring to. Is somebody getting what I'm saying? So the information of that chapter begins to come when you are either about to enter the chapter or you have opened the chapter. Until then, it won't cross your radar so that it can be fulfilled. Should I explain that? Because there are information, if you hear before the time, you can be the reason why it won't come to pass. Are you getting the picture I'm painting? That's why God keeps many of us in the dark, uncertain matters, in his love. So you can just, he can guide you. Are you getting what I'm saying? With his eyes, and you find yourself in the will of God. I can't tell you how much of that has happened in my life, especially for a person of prayer. You don't need to worry too much about tomorrow. Are you hearing what I'm saying? A prayer bank has gone ahead to prevent you from error. So Jesus, if he was to be under pressure, will be under pressure because of his book, right? Or because of what people are saying. He was conscious of time. He told me, my time has not yet come. So he was conscious of time. He was conscious of his book. He stood in the temple and he said in the synagogue that this scripture is fulfilled in your eyes. Meaning he was conscious of his book. He was conscious of the timing of fulfillment of that book. So if there's any pressure you should be feeling, is the pressure God puts on you from your spirit. Are you hearing what I'm saying? It's time for this now. It's time for this now. Not what your friends are doing. Are you hearing what I'm saying? Not what people I don't know. Not what you know, successes of people are telling you. See how many people in your class are now. See how many of them have achieved. Look at where you are. Many times our environment is telling us the time. Our friends are telling us the time. Society is telling us the time. But what you tell us the time? Come on, come on. What should tell you the time?

The next thing we shared was, where in what areas do we need patience? Did we deal with that? Either way. So number one was what? Ah, in our dealings with the word of God. And a couple of examples came in the course week that I will use to buttress this as we begin to push to the end of this teaching. Did I say last week you should give the word time? Did you write that down? The scripture we quoted was Luke chapter 8, 11-15. And we said fruit is born with patience. Luke chapter 8, who just read verse 15. But the seed on the good soil stands for those with a noble and a good heart who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering, produce a crop. So the word patience there is specifying by being patient, even the word of God is going to bring fruit. So that scripture, the word is quick and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, does not mean you should not be patient with scriptures. And I'll give you a very, very good example that will make this seat. Scripture says to sow into ourselves in righteousness, right? So it means if you want to see the fruits of righteousness, what should you sow? Righteousness. He that sows into the flesh, how the flesh reaps what? Huh? Corruption. And he that sows into the spirit, of the spirit reaps what? Now, every time a person reaches out and says, I've struggled with this, I've struggled with that, that struggle is a harvest of a seed. The shock that you are harvesting it is the first problem because whatever a man sows, that's what he's going to what? Reap. We are always shocked with the harvest of things we sowed. If you can kill the process at the seed state, then you have no problem with the harvest season. Exactly. Everything we are seeing in our lives now is a product of seeds we sowed in the past. Look at whatever, and tell your neighbor, what your life looks like now is what you did to yourself. If it looks good, come on, talk to that neighbor. It was good you did it. If it looks bad, you see, you that did it. Not your parents, not your friends, not the devil. You did it. Whatever a man soweth, the scripture was aware that the enemy sows when he said, whatever a man what? Sows, that's what he's going to reap. So it's your job, even if the enemy has sown a seed, is it your job to pull up the tears? Yes or no? It's your job. It's your job. It's your job to ensure that it is only good seeds that are in your ground. Is that clear? So how do we sow into the flesh? Because when you compare how much time we give to the sowing of the flesh and how much time we give to the sowing of the spirit, we should not be shocked. Is it possible to get a rope or a long cloth? All right, can I have? So guys, please come. Two of you, please come. Go ahead, go ahead. I want to be sure there of equal strength. My brother is not 100. So you are not going to be going closer. So one, two, ready? Pull. I said, don't leave this place. That's the rule. All right. You like him. I just said, "Pro price." Hold your ground. Where it's not how you pull, it's how you. Once you're ready, go. So they are not of equal strength. I need somebody or vehicle straight. Do it again. Want already? Wait. Once ready, go. What's going on here? Okay, pull normally. I want to ready. Pull normal. There's no money involved though. Just pull normal. I'm trying to see who is stronger. I'm not able to. December. Anyways, so now the spirit loses against the flesh, and the flesh against the spirit. Right? So who is? Breathe again. Spirit. So I'll use this spirit because you pulled him like twice or twice now. So let's put one water. Let me be sure. One, two, ready? Go. What's happening? I need equal strength. Hold on. Come on. It's not by size though. One, two, ready? Go. Again. Once already. Go. Okay, good. Good example. So this is flesh. This is spirit. At the moment, any time the flesh wants something, it's pretty just moving where the flesh wants. Lives are you get what I'm saying? I feel like doing this now. It's pretty safe. Let's not do it. Let's not do it. Please. It's not good for me. Follow me, my friend. And spirit is falling. The flesh everywhere. Like, can we have Alberta, please? Go. Why you? I so wait. Why are you proud? Why are you looking like that? Stick on Spirit. Come now. So you're going to support him. Hold his back. Waiting. Stop it. You're supporting him, not the room. Support him. Him. Him. Is him. If you hold his hand, he will not move. Once already. Go. He didn't see that now. There are certain things you must understand. Very simple but very powerful. Every time you go on a fast, you are adding. You go on a Bible study stretch, you're adding. You're adding weight. Are you getting what I'm saying? You go on a prayer stretch, adding what? Wait. Are you doing it consistently? This thing that just happened now might not happen overnight. That's why I said, be patient with what? The word of God. As you keep on adding, adding, adding, one day the flesh will pull. Hold him very well. I don't want him to move an inch. I want you to use your whole strength. In flesh, say I will win this time. Oya, pool. Wait now. Let's take the flesh to another country. Maybe Nigeria. Let's go to a which country do you think? Las Vegas. Oh, yeah. Let's get ready now. One, two, ready? Go. Las Vegas. I never expected that from you. Which place? We are. Let's take him to a hill now. Let them go to hell, to the seat of Satan, Babylon. Are we ready now? One, two, ready? Go. It seems as though the flesh has no effect because of the additions. If somebody gets what I'm saying, celebrate Jesus. Now, I want you to remember how many hours it takes to finish a season movie. Let's remember now. How long is it? An episode, one hour. How many episodes are in an average season? Huh? Like 10, 16, or 10? That sounds like if 16, 16. So that's how many hours? 16 hours. Is that correct? So 16 hours stretch. The average movie, how many seasons? Ah, like three, right? Some are more, but three. I had that Chinese or Asian ones, they can reach. Huh? They can reach 30, 12. And there'll be one-on-one like that. Took my very soon. Okay, so anyways, so we can assume that you want to finish a movie you just heard about. You should prepare how many days? Huh? Two days. Are for professionals? I mean, you have, you have, you have two seasons or three seasons, and you still want to be able to have a life. That's what I'm trying to say. When will you finish a movie? Huh? One full week of like how many hours investment daily? Huh? About four to six or seven hours, right? Consistently? Yes, that's correct. If it's 16 hours, wow, season, and about three seasons, we're talking 16 times three. That's how many? Ah, 16 times three. Is that correct? I can't agree with you because that was not my area of grace. How you even did it, I'm still shocked. In season three is what? 48. All right. So 48 straight hours. If you want to start and finish, which people have grace for, too, right? Come on. Right? You've not seen movie watchers. It will start and the anointing until they're done. Seven hours every day, you're giving yourself to something that is of this world. As worldly, because they are not reminding you of heaven, they are not teaching you righteousness, they are not inspiring you to see God or holiness. Are you getting what I'm saying? All that is what your spirit needs to feed on. This is for the flesh. It's awakening your emotions. Ah, you get what I'm saying? The guys, something is romance season, right? Or action, or plenty of bloodshed and killing and destruction and vampire and horror and so on and so forth. So you're pumping seven, seven, seven, seven for the first movie. And some of us might have downed like how many movies in the last one year or two years? I feel, I feel it. So after sowing like that, it's just that you didn't know you were patient, but it was a kind of patience you are not just conscious of the patience. You were patiently seven hours daily sowing into the flesh. You are not counting time. Some of us did like 10 hours, right? Some of us have finished one season in a day. Are you getting what I'm saying? You run 12 hours prayer stretch, watching stretch, 16 hours stretch. If we have done like this spiritually, don't you think there will be more results? Don't you think your flesh should be struggling to win every day? The way we are struggling to please God, you'll be struggling to not please God. The way Jeremiah said, is your word not as what fire in my bones? I would have loved to not preach, but is your word not as what fire? I can't say no to the urge. There are people who can't resist the urge to pray. They can't because the spirit is so alive and dominating. Are you guessing what I'm saying? When they wake up, they can't say, let me sleep back. The spirit is so alive and in charge. Once their eye opens, that's the end. Their tongue begins. One hour, they are trying to see how they can sleep because it's not your experience. Does not mean it's not another person's experience. We must all as human beings realize that your experience cannot define the whole world. What you are suffering is not what everybody is suffering. Devil likes you to know that there's nobody anywhere else. What you're experiencing is everybody's experience. That's how it keeps you in that spot. Just like the movie thing now. Some people, as you are listening, as well, listen to all these hours, it was all strange to you. Raise your hand. It was strange to you. Raise your hand. Like, wow, maybe I'm missing something. I think my life, I think I need to get a laptop. What do I do? I want to watch season. Everybody, what my destiny? Yeah, I think I'm losing out on some. It was strange to you. Raise your hand. To Jesus. For those who are watching, might think this is the life of every single youth in the world. Yes or no? How do you invest like that and not gain returns? It is impossible. Same thing goes for the spirit. Imagine you study the scriptures seven hours daily for a week. You'll finish New Testament twice in one week. Yes or no? And you still have change remaining. And if you're doing like that every single week, even if you don't want harvest, you get to the third month. First, by the time you clock three months without habit of finishing it twice weekly, my dear, we harvest. You will have a sight. You will have his dreams. You will have his visions. You will have his clarity. You will have his confidence, boldness. Your average plenty cents. Is somebody hearing what I'm saying? So if there's confusion in your life, check your seed. Tap your neighbor. Check your seed. What did you plant? You planted confusion. Is confusion? You planted. It just didn't know the name of the film. It's what? Confusion. They call it chimjun Young. Or the Greek root word for king jong is what? Confusion and instability. Somebody has married a wife and his eyes is still another woman. Is that no confusion? Or is that no confusion? Someone says I love you and his actions can't follow his words. Is that no confusion? Is it already insanity? He just named it another name that can make sense. Some of them even name it the name, knowing that you still will not see that this problem. They can call him madness. Give me madness. Yours is in two madness. You still don't come out on more crazy movie. The name is madness. So because believers are undiscerning and impatient with their process as far as the word of God is concerned, who are not able to wait out the manifestations arrive. But from scriptures, we will see at patience was the was a part of the life of the saints. We are all instructed to be patient with our process. Leaders are supposed to be patient with those that they are leading. I give a funny example, yes, last week Sunday of our Ezekiel. Prophet Ezekiel. And the fact that when he had not yesterday walking, I still remember that was a concern to his mother because he clocked one year and he said, two months. I'll be one year, one month. One year, one month. So many mothers, the time clock is one year. Yes or no? Right? By the one year birthday, the church were able to stand by himself or move around and all that. So he reached one year, one year, one month. A little bit of concern. We know he will walk, just that he was taking his time. We had known who would have advised him, take as much time as you wish because once he started working, things started breaking, things started getting, leaving their place. Are you getting what I'm saying? On the design, climbing the stairs, he thought it would take some time to move the next leg and you move the next leg. Within about one minute, he came and saw him here at the top of the stairs. But I was, I was joking with my wife, I said, very soon, maybe when he might Elijah are playing somewhere and where I am, who broke it? Nobody's replying. We said, who broke it? Is yes, Elijah answered. Oh, yes. I said, Kai, those days are coming though. So all my impatience disappeared as I was beholding Ezekiel. Take your time, Daddy loves you. You know, you grow now, you crawl later. I'm not putting you under pressure. I think you should choose your pace. It's your desire, whatever. No pressure again. Is somebody getting what I'm saying? Tap your nipple. It will still happen. Don't be under pressure. We said last week also that everybody now is working. Whether your own was two years old, one year, six months old, or even started working at five months, my dear, we are both working. Work is work. I'm still working better than yourself. Up on your five months, where are you rushing to? Finish school at 13? No, finish at 10. It's what I went to to minister this week. I'll be counseling people. I asked, how old are you? I'm 15. Are you in this school? She said, I'm in the school. How old are you? I'm 14, 14, 14, 14. That's secondary school. What are you doing? 100 level. No wonder there's plenty problem. Where are you rushing to? Your emotions can't take what is going on. Hallelujah to Jesus. Hebrews 6:12-15. That you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. For when God made a promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no one greater, he swore by himself, saying, "Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you." And so after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. You do see that? Did you see who promised? So why are we waiting? We are waiting because the person who promised is faithful. I'll tell you sincerely, don't wait if you don't trust the character of the person who promised. We are patiently waiting because we trust. Patience is a fruit of trust. If you are not patient, then you don't trust. If you notice you are under pressure, then you are not working in trust. Trust in the Lord, here we perform it. This scripture we just read now, casually, was the experience of a man who was about 100 years old. If somebody hearing what I'm saying, about 100 years is waiting, was at least 25 years. 25. Two and a half decades of waiting for one thing. How many of you have waited 25 years for anything? For anything in your life? Anybody? That's why they called him Daddy. He's a daddy of faith. By the time he has finally gotten it, they say he should kill it. And he took it to go and kill it. Ha. If we don't teach these things, believers will never have this capacity anymore. Most people's patience gauge, one week, two weeks, maximum one month. I'm still looking for Plan B. Yes or no? If you are depressed after one month, what should Abraham have been? Depressed, right? Or pressed? You can't begin to explain his level of depression. Huh? 25. Many things can happen when you wait. The Bible says, "Hope deferred makes the heart sick." It's a powerful secret Satan uses a lot. If you see a person whose heart was alive and bubbling in God before, suddenly the person is now cold or feather. That God angry at the saints and no longer pushing as lively as they were before. Check something has been deferred. Are you hearing what I'm saying? I know what I, what I'm saying by experience. A human being can just take us. We have a limit. Our endurance. And through this teaching, the Lord is establishing us on the subject of what? Patience. Patience. Patience. Especially because you don't know your book. If you knew, you would wait, right? If you knew. But you don't even know. You don't know the set time. So you're just waiting without any information. If you knew what you wait. If you are sure that it's by 5 PM, they will open the door for me to see the president, who wait now. Wait it out. But you don't really know if this thing will eventually even happen, right? That's what makes us impatient. That's why I said patience is founded strongly on trust in God. So how do we get patience? Number one, follow after it. I put in bracket here, desire it. Give yourself to it. Want it so much. If you notice that it's something you're weak in, desire it. Be patient with your process of announcement. Be patient with your process of growth. Sometimes it pays to look back and see where you're coming from. So you'll see that you're actually making progress. Because we are impatient when we think or suspect that we are not making what progress. So sometimes it pays to look back and see, has anything changed from where I was before? If something has changed, then it means when I look back again next year, right? Something would have changed. Second Peter chapter 1, 5 to 6. First Timothy 6, 9 to 11. But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith, virtue, to virtue, knowledge, to knowledge, self-control, to self-control, perseverance, to perseverance, godliness. The word perseverance there, like I said earlier, is what? Is patience. So he says, at your faith, what? Huh? Virtue. So you're seeing that a person can have what you call faith, can have virtues, might not have knowledge. So he says, add knowledge. But you're adding all these things, don't forget to add what? Patience. Because you can seem to do everything right and still not see certain results at the time you are expecting. God said you should add what? Patience. The second reading, but those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and into many foolish and harmful lusts, which drown men into destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. So two things to note from there. The first thing, that's why I wanted us to read from verse 9. I want us to see that, like I said last week, the reason some things have not happened to us yet is because we don't have the capacity to handle what it will bring. Riches is the reason some people have left God. Are you hearing what I'm saying? Is riches good? Yes. Are there believers who are not ready to manage wealth? Yes. Is marriage good? Yes. Are there believers that marriage will destroy? Yes. He's getting admission good? Yes. Are there believers who were fine until they got admission? Are you guessing what I'm saying? Who lost their way once they entered university? I'm announcing to you people of God that God's love towards you can be delayed. If somebody hearing what I'm saying, add this to your faith. Add it this day to your faith. It's not every time you have a prayer problem. Are you hear what I'm saying? It's not every time you have a fasting problem. Let me have two people. I want something physical. Two people, please. Two of you again. Patience. Who is patience? Choose your patience. Start running. Pursue patience. See the way patience is running. My brother, are you sure you want to be patient? He's joking with patience. He said, pursue patience. He has passed the questions. Oh my God. I would like to say you should join the Java team, but if this was auditions, my friends, then God bless you. He said you should pursue after, not so you can pass patience behind you so you can. Why you position somebody not to catch the person? So don't jog behind patience. Run afterwards patience. That's how you will get it. Like we said, lasso said this message will be tested also. As we're driving back, it was tested. I could not understand the way we're driving. Ibadan is amazing. Let's just leave that matter. I said, is this is these patients they are trying to teach me now? Why is this car looking at me? So I waited and waited and waited and waited. My wife reminded me, honey, remember you were learning patience. Yes, that's true. Thank you. Because under normal circumstance, this is the point where you jump the horn. Onto the car has accidents. Pack. If you are not going, I don't have a problem with you're not going anywhere in life. But back so that others can go somewhere in life. Are you getting what I'm saying? But you say, no, nobody must go anywhere in life with you. It doesn't make sense. Is it good like that? It's not good. Hallelujah to Jesus. The second way we get it is from being inspired by the scriptures. Romans 5:14, James 5:7-11. I want to see how we can finish this today. So we're not read, we will not read, just write. All right. The third way is through prayers. Colossians 1:9-11. The fourth way is through experience. For whatsoever things we are written before, we are written for learning that we through the patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Now, may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded towards one another according to Christ Jesus. Is that clear? All right. Prayers. Colossians 1:9-11. For this reason, we also, since the day we had it, do not cease to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God, strengthened with Almighty according to his glorious power for all patience and long-suffering with joy. Did you see that? So one of the reasons for strength is for what? Is for patience. And this is literally a Pauline prayer. You are familiar with Ephesians 1:17-20 with the other Pauline prayers. And one of them is what? Is patience. Strength to be patient and long-suffering with joy. Because we said last week, it is not patience simply because we are waiting. Did you hear what I just said? A person can wait and not be patient. You can wait because you don't have a choice and some other reasons. But the scripture is saying that all patience and long-suffering should be with what? With joy. Then it is a virtue. It's a strength. It's a mystery which the world cannot understand. How can I be racing against time? As he be at peace? How can time be going and I'm still smiling? Is somebody getting the picture? That capacity is in Jesus because you trust him and you know he's faithful. Hallelujah to Jesus. Two scriptures as we end this. Let's read prayers of David. Psalm chapter 41-3. If you don't mind, please be on your feet. Psalm chapter 40. You are going to read this together from verse 1 to 3. One, two, go. So we like verse 2 and verse 3, yes or no? What do we like verse 1? Let's not forget that the waiting was with what? Patience. It is possible to pray and the answer does not arrive. Now we are to wait what? Patiently. Psalms 37, verse 1 to 2 and then verse 7. People are offended with God because they feel he is late. He has not done some things he has asked them to do. They've tried and seem like they have failed. It is a process. Very soon, you will look back at those things that were a struggle for you before. It has become easy. Is somebody here what I'm saying? Guys, how many of you were impatient with the growing of your beards? Raise your hand to Jesus. You are raising your hand. Is it coming out now? Has God done it? Can we celebrate Jesus? In his life, that's the only example I can give because I'm not a woman. I don't know what women wait for. What do women wait for? Ah, I don't think I want to hear. What is that? How many guys can relate what I'm talking about? Each strand you celebrated with patience. Guys, are you getting what I'm saying? Looking at the mirror, celebrating each strand. I have four now. I have four. Well, the day is coming when you will wish it can just stay because you have to be spending every time for it to stay. Before you are not spending money on that, right? Now you have to spend money on what you were impatiently waiting for. Some set seven together. One, two, go. Read verse 7 again. One to go. When you see the way evildoers are prospering, it can be frustrating. Is somebody with me? Ritualists, thieves in politics, it can be saddening. It's as if if you were God, what will you do? You know exactly. So online, you know exactly what to do. But it's because of patience that they are not dead. Who is patient with them? God is patient with them. The assurance in this scripture is that as we rest in the Lord and with patiently for him, he will come through for us. As a nation, in this country, we will see God come through for us. How many of us have been patient with Nigeria? I tell you sincerely, I told somebody, if next year we do rubbish again, then I might, it will take God for me to believe again. Is somebody getting what I'm saying? If we, as a country, by ourselves, can vote in a fool again, can use our hand and say, enter. They showed the video this week of somebody who is going for presidential and his hands were shaking like this as he was talking. Who has seen that video? You have seen that video. Raise your hand. And the person who put the video said, it means he will not be able to even sign any document by himself. Everything you see signed will be. Are you guys know what I'm saying? People will have access to the rubber stamp signature, right? I don't even want to imagine it. But hope deferred makes the heart sick. So we'll pray two prayers. Number one, everything I should not be waiting for, Lord, open my eyes to see. You hear what I just said? Everything I should not be patient with, so I choose my battles properly. How many of you want that? So I know. Are you getting what I'm saying? So you don't keep on feeling as if God is not hearing you. Lord, open my eyes to the matter I should rest on and it matters I should be. Are you getting a point? Raise your hand. Declare, Father, every matter in my life I should be restless about, open my eyes to see. Let your voice. Pray that prayer. Pray that prayer. Pray that prayer. Pray that prayer. Open my eyes and see. Show me matters in my life that I should be restless about. Revealed to me things I should be restless about. People of God, these are very, very important prayers. Let the Holy Ghost mount pressure on your spirit on certain subjects of your life. If anyone should put you under pressure, it is the Holy Spirit. And he knows how to do it. It will weigh you down. It will strengthen you to fight. Jesus. Mount pressure on my spirit on the things I should be restless about. The things I should not be taken for granted. The things I should not be overlooking. We think I should get angry about. Some of us are actually patient with things we should not be patient with. Father, open my eyes to those things and stir me up until restlessness on those subjects. In Jesus mighty name, we are prayed. Second prayer. Shouted. Our Father, in the name of Jesus, 20 need to be patient with my process. Can you shout out loud? The Father, energize me to be patient with my process. Lift your voice and cry to God. Father, give me power for patience. I don't want to counter your work in my life. Two impatience. I don't want to make moves that are not God. I don't want to scatter what you are doing because of impatience. Many of us have been doing that, and it's keeping you in a cycle. Imagine planting and not putting. Planting and putting. Every day, you will never see that plant ever grow. Imagine coming and digging it out because you can't wait to see it grow. You must plant it, watch it die, and wait it out until it brings out the harvest. Lord, everything I'm doing that is tantamount to scattering what I am planting because of impatience, I receive great strength. Colossians 1 shows us it takes power to wait. Come on, come on, come on. Pray in the Holy Ghost. We would love to hear how this message has blessed you. Please share your testimony with us at davidicgenerationtestimonies@gmail.com.
