Heavenly Father, Baba yetu wa mbinguni, we give you all the praise, glory and honor. Tunakupa utukufu wote, sifa na heshima. There is no God like you. Hakuna Mungu aliye kama wewe. You are the only one worthy to be praised. We pekee unastahili kusifiwa. Worthy to be glorified. Unastahili kutukuzwa. We humble ourselves in your presence once again Lord. Tunajinyenyekeza uweponi mwako mara hii tena. We ask you Lord, speak to us via a word in season. Tunakuomba Bwana, useme nasi kupitia neno la wakati. Touch our hearts. Gusa mioyo yetu. Open our minds Lord. Fungua fahamu zetu eh Bwana. Release the spirit of revelation. Achilia roho wa ufunuo. Help us to go to another level. Tusaidie twende kiwango kingine. We are trying what we can do Lord. Tunajaribu kile ambacho tunaweza kufanya Bwana. Only you who can elevate anyone. Lakini ni wewe tu ambaye unaweza kumuinua yeyote. And therefore Lord, we present ourselves in your praises. Na kwa hiyo Bwana, tunajiwakilisha mbele ya uwepo wako. In the name of Jesus. Katika jina la Yesu. And everyone out there say amen. Na kila mmoja pale aseme amen. Shout the loudest hallelujah. Piga. Haleluya. Ya nguvu kabisa. Haleluya. May the Lord bless you so much. Bwana akubariki sana. You may take your seats. Mnaweza [Muziki] mkaketi within 30 days. Ndani ya hizi siku 30. My desire for everyone of you. Shauku yangu kwa kila mmoja wetu, that you pursue something. Kwamba ufukuzie jambo, among the many things that I keep teaching here, na baina ya vitu vingi ambavyo nimekuwa navifundisha mahali hapa, there's something, kuna jambo, that if you focus on that, ambalo kama ukizingatia hilo jambo, you put some efforts, unaweka jitihada kuelekea jambo hilo, you pay some sacrifice, and I don't mean money, but sacrifice of, sacrifice of will, unalipia gharama ya dhabihu na simaanishi tu dhabihu ya pesa, inaweza ikawa muda wako, that is you strive to pursue that thing until you see a breakthrough towards that are, kwamba unapambana kufukuzia hilo jambo mpaka uone umefika hapo mahala. If you do that, ukifanya hivyo, your life will never be the sam, maisha yako yako hayabaki kama yalivyokuwa. Stagnation in the kingdom of God. Kudumaa katika ufalme wa Mungu, ised for those who neglect things. Kumewekwa tayari kwa wale watu wanaopuuzia mambo. It's a reward for lazy people. Ni dhawabu ya watu wavivu. Lack of progress. Kukosa kuendelea mbele, is inheritance for the inactive Christians. Ni urithi wa wale wakristo ambao wako vuguvugu. People, watu ambao hawataki kuwajibika kwa jambo lolote. They cannot experience progress. Hawawezi kukutana na kwenda mbele. They cannot experience breakthrough. Hawezi kupata mpenyo. And every time you hear breakthrough, na mara zote unaposikia mpenyo, please hear me very well. Tafadhali unisikie kwa makini. Are you with me? Je, uko pamoja na mimi? Are you with me? Mko pamoja na mimi? Every time you hear breakthrough. Mara zote unaposikia mpenyo, it simply means. Inamaanisha, there's a heavy resistance. Kunakuwa kuna upinzani mkubwa, that for you to go to the other side. Kwamba ili wewe uvuke upande wa pili, you have to apply force, unapaswa utumie nguvu, and break through that resistance, nauvunje kupita katika huo upinzani. I remember a story in the Bible, ninakumbuka hadithi kwenye Biblia, one day king David before he was installed as a king on Israel, siku moja mfalme Daudi kabla hajasimikwa kuwa mfalme wa Israeli, he was surrounded with, with his men of vella, alikuwa amezungukwa na mashujaa wake, and he said, na alisema, I wish I would drink water from the well of Bethlehem, natamani ningekunywa maji yanayotoka katika kisima cha Bethlehem, wish i would, hakusema ninatamani nipate maji ninywe, was very specific. Alikuwa kimaalumu sana. Water from a particular place. Maji kutoka mahali fulani. Unfortunately, kwa bahati mbaya, that well that he was mentioning, kile kisima ambacho alikuwa anakitaja, it was surrounded by enemies. Kilikuwa kimezungukwa na [Muziki] maadui. It's not like he didn't know. Si kana kwamba hakufahamu. He knew. Alijua. It was surrounded. Kile kisima kilikuwa kimezungukwa, the Philistian armies, na wale wanajeshi wa kifilisti. A whole garison, huge group of, of soldiers, kundi zima la wale maaskari. Three men. Wanaume watatu, his fighters, three men. Kati ya wale wapiganaji wake Daudi. They say don't worry sir. Walisema usijali mwana mkubwa. We bring that water. Tutakuletea hayo maji. Three men. Wanaume watatu, they went. Walienda, and they started fighting, na wakaanza kupigana, going to the well, wakikifuatia kile kisima, says they broke through, Biblia inasema walipenya kwa nguvu, forcifully, kwa nguvu, just to bring a cup of water to their king, ili waweze kumletea kikombe cha maji mfalme wao, people had to die, watu walilazimika kufa, killed people, waliua watu, because their king wanted, kwa sababu mfalme wao alihitaji maji, they broke through, walipenya kwa nguvu. Well, I feel like preaching there, somebody shout hallelujah, ninajisikia kuhubiri hapo, piga kelele halleluya, let me not continue very much, ngoja nisiendelee sana, when they got water. Walipopata yale maji, still the fighting was there. Mapigano yaliendelea. Now the work was even harder. Sasa kazi ilikuwa hata hivyo ni ngumu zaidi, because they needed to fight back on the way back. Kwa sababu walipaswa wapigane wakiwa wakirudi. As well as protecting that water. Vile vile wakiyalinda yale maji, they three people, wanaume watatu, they brought water to king David. Walimletea maji mfalme Daudi. And he poured down that water as a sacrifice to the Lord. Naye aliyamwaga yale maji kama dhabihu mbele za Bwana. They used force. Walitumia nguvu, so that they could break through, ili waweze kupenya. The problem today, tatizo leo, people want cheap success. Watu wanataka mafanikio rahisi rahisi. People want cheap victory. Watu wanataka ushindi ambao ni rahisi. They don't want to trouble themselves. Hawataki kujisomboa. They don't want to do anything hard. Hawataki kufanya kitu ambacho ni kigumu. Just want to wish. I wish I succeed when success is there. Wanataka tu watamani na waseme natamani nimefanikiwa na mafanikio yako hapa tayari. It doesn't work that way. Haiendi namna hiyo. Children of God wherever you are. Wana wa Mungu popote ulipo. If you want to be elevated in the kingdom, kama unataka kuinuliwa katika ufalme, the application of force is inevitable. Matendo ya nguvu hayaepukiki. The application of force. Kutumia nguvu hakuepukiki katika ufalme. You have to use force. Unapaswa kutumia [Muziki] nguvu. Well, let's continue. Sasa ngoja tuendelee. There are issues to be addressed. Kuna vitu vya kuviangalia. We were talking about areas in which we need to discipline ourselves. Tulikuwa tukizungumzia maeneo ambayo tunapaswa kujilidamisha wenyewe. Areas need force to control ourselves. Maeneo ambayo yanahitaji nguvu kujidhibiti sisi wenyewe. Areas that you need to force yourself. Maeneo ambayo unapaswa kujilazimisha. And say this is what I'm going to do no matter what. Na kusema kwamba hiki ndicho nitakachoenda kukifanya haijalishi nini, come rain come sunshine, inyeshe au liwake jua, I'm going to do it, nitaenda kufanya, you control yourself, unajidhibiti mwenyewe, unakusudia, do, na unafanya. Are we together children of God? Tuko pamoja wana wa Mungu? One of the areas we talked about yesterday is the giving discipline. Moja ya eneo hilo tulizungumzia jana ni nidhamu ya utoaji. You know it's your kingdom responsibility to give unto your God. Unapojua kwamba ni jukumu lako la kifalme wewe kumtolea Mungu, you don't have to be comfortable to do that. Si lazima uwe ni rahisi kwako kufanya hivyo. Don't make God the God who gets your left over. Usimfanye Mungu kwamba ni Mungu anapata kile ambacho wewe umekisaza. No. Hapana. Give him the best. Mpatie kile kilicho bora. And remain with the rest. Na we baki na kile kilichobaki. And he will change your rest. Na atabadilisha yale masalia yako to become the best. Kuwa kitu kilicho bora. Give him your best. Mpatie kilicho bora. Don't give him when, when you are satisfied. Everything is okay now. He say okay now this one let me take to the Lord. Uh, ustolee pale ambapo sasa wewe umeridhika na kila kitu kiko sawa sasa unasema kilichobaki sasa ngoja nimtolee Bwana. Give him first. Mpatie yeye kwanza, before you do anything, kabla hujafanya chochote, because you love him, kwa sababu unampenda, because you worship him by choice. Kwa sababu unamwabudu yeye kwa hiari yako, nobody forced you. Hakuna aliyekulazimisha. You declared your allegiance unto him. Uli, you declared that you are going to be faithful to him. Ulitangaza kwamba utaenda kuwa mwaminifu kwake. So discipline yourself. Kwa h jinidhamishe wewe mwenyewe, when it comes to giving, inapokuja kwenye swala la utoaji, are we together children of God? Tuko pamoja wana wa Mungu? Disine yourself when you tie things, jinidhamishe mwenyewe unapotoa fungu la 10, forced you, hakuna mtu aliokulazimisha, you decided by choice, uliamua mwenyewe kwa hi, that it's God's will that I give him 10% or more, kwamba ni mapenzi ya Mungu nimppe fungu la 10 au zaidi. So if you decided, kwa ho kama uliamua, displain yourself, jinidhamishe, even when you in need, hata pale unapokuwa kwenye uhitaji, you say no way, unasema haiwezekani. If I die I die, kama nikifa na nife. But I'm not going to touch this money. Lakini hii pesa siendi kuigusa. If they chase me from the house let them chase me. Wakinifukuza kwenye hii nyumba acha unifukuze. This is not my money. Hii sio pesa yangu. This is God's money. Hi. Hizi ni pesa za Mungu. You discipline yourself. Unajilidhamisha wewe mwenyewe. Let's move forward. Tuendelee mbele sasa. What area we need to discipline ourselves? Eneo gani lingine tunapaswa kujinidhamisha wenyewe? What else? Kitu gani kingine? The area of time. Eneo la muda. Time discipline, nidhamu ya muda. In the book of Ecclesiastes, chapter 3:1, katika kitabu cha Mhubiri ya 3:1, Ecclesiastes 3:1, Mhubiri ya T na ule mstari wa kwanza. To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven. Kwa kila jambo kuna majira yake na wakati kwa kila kusudi chini ya mbingu. God is the creator of time. Mungu ndiye aliyeumba muda. And time is there for a purpose. Na muda uko pale kwa kusudi, is not there just to see to, to make division of, of the day time and night time. Muda hauko pale kugawanya tu usiku na mchana. Time is an opportunity for something to take place. Muda ni fursa ya jambo fulani kuchukua nafasi. Wasted time. Muda uliopotezwa, ised opportunity. Ni fursa iliopotezwa. You can recover money. Unaweza ukarejesha pesa. You can recover many things. Unaweza ukarejesha mambo mengi. But one thing you need to know you cannot recover is time. Lakini jambo moja ambalo unapaswa kujua ambalo huwezi kurejesha ni muda. Every minute that passes. Kila dakika inayopita, you will never ever see that minute again. Kamwe hawezi kuja kuiona tena hiyo dakika. You can't see it. Hauwezi kuiona. You see another minute, not that one. Utaiona dakika nyingine na sio ile iliyopotea. Every day that passes, kila siku inayopita, you'll never ever see that day again. Kamwe hautakuja kuiona tena hiyo, you better make a good decision how you are using your time. Ni bora ufanye maamuzi sahihi namna gani unatumia muda wako. Because according to God's word. Kwa sababu kulingana na neno la Mungu, there are purposes on this earth under the heaven. Kuna kusudi chini ya hii mbingu, that have to happen within a time framework, ambalo hilo kusudi linapaswa kutokea ndani ya muda fulani. That's why the Bible says. Ndio maana Biblia inasema, everything there's a time, there's to everything there's a season. Kwa kila jambo kuna majira. A time for every purpose under heaven. Wakati kwa kila kusudi chini ya mbingu. How do you use your time? Unatumiaje muda wako? There are people, not just a week. They spend a whole year and they cannot tell you this year I've achieved this. Kuna watu sio wiki tu wanaweza wakatumia mwaka mzima na wasiweze kuonyesha kwamba mwaka huu nimetimiliza jambo hili hapa. Hear me children of God. Nisikilize mwana wa Mungu. It is sin to abuse time. Ni dhambi kuchezea muda. Because time is that is given to us. Kwa sababu muda ni zawadi ambayo tumepewa na Mungu. Use it wisely. Tumia vizuri. You can't possibly be watching TV programs for many, many hours every day. Haupaswi kuwa unatazama program za TV kwa masaa mengi katika siku. Entertaining yourself for hours and hours and hours. Ukijiburudisha mwenyewe kwa masaa na masaa. That is time wasting. Huo ni muda unaopoteza. I've never heard anyone who is being paid for entertaining themselves. Sijawahi kusikia mtu ambaye analipwa kwa kujiburudisha yeye mwenyewe. I know people are highly paid for entertaining others because it's their profession. Ninawafahamu watu ambao wanalipwa vizuri sana kwa sababu ya kuwaburudisha watu wengine na hiyo ni taaluma yao. But self entertainment. Lakini kujiburudisha wewe mwenyewe, and you get money, na upate pesa, and you get promoted, na unapandishwa viwango, and you get more anointing, na unapata upako zaidi, for self entertainment, kwa kujiburudisha wewe mwenyewe, maybe, labda, but I've never heard of it, lakini mimi sijawai kusikia, use where your time, tumia vyema muda wako, you could have read a few chapters in the Bible, ungeweza kutumia huo muda kusoma sura kadhaa kwenye Biblia, you could have used that time to develop your career a little more. Ungeweza kutumia huo muda kuendeleza taaluma yako kidogo zaidi. You could have used that time to, to develop your talent. Ungeweza kutumia huo muda kuboresha kipaji chako, so that can be fruitful, ili kikudalie matunda maishani mwako. You could have used that time to develop another side career, a side activity that could give you side income. Ungeweza kutumia huo muda kutengeneza fursa nyingine ambayo ingekuletea kipato. You could have used that time to learn a new skill in your life. Ungeweza kutumia huo muda kujifunza ujuzi mpya kwenye maisha yako, might help you or help someone next to you. Huo ujuzi ungeweza kukusaidia wewe au mtu mwingine karibu yako. Many people, lakini watu wengi, they are not conscious of time. Hawazingatii muda. They think, wanadhani, we will not be accountable. Hatuta toa hesabu. Hear me very well. Nisikilize kwa makini. We shall give an account of how we spend our time. Tunatolea hesabu namna gani tulitumia muda. You need to use your time wisely. Unapaswa kutumia muda wako vizuri. Think twice before you engage yourself in a useless activity. Hebu fikiria mara mbili kabla hujajiingiza kwenye kazi zisizo na faida. You could have used that time to exercise your body. Ungeweza kutumia huo muda kufanya mazoezi ya mwili wako. But what are you doing? Lakini sasa unafanya nini? You really chat with someone on phone for 2 hours, 3 hours. Kweli kabisa unazungumza na mtu au unachati na mtu kwenye simu kwa masaa mawili hadi matatu. And you think within those two or three hours the devil will not catch you somewhere. Na unafikiria kwamba ndani ya hayo masaa mawili au matatu shetani hata kukamata sehemu. I'm telling you, nakuambia, by the time you finished only 20 minutes. Ah, utakapokuwa umemaliza tu dakika 20, he will have caught you somewhere. Atakuwa amekunyaka mahali. Refuse to engage yourself in useless chatting. Hebu kataa kujiingiza kwenye mazungumzo yasiyofaa. Uko tu busy pale na simu yako. There are people who are so much skilled in chatting. Kuna watu ambao wana ujuzi sana kwenye kuchati. I don't want to chat with them. Sitaki kuchati nao. Because by the time I finish typing one word, kwa sababu nitakapomaliza kuandika neno moja, sentha kutumia jumbe tatu. And I don't know even how to respond anymore. Hata nashindwa jinsi ya kuwajibu tena. That's why I choose to just record my message and that's it. Ndio maana huwa nachagua tu kurekodi audio na watu wengi. Because there are people who are professional in chatting. Kwa sababu kuna watu ambao ni wataalam wa kuchati. Professional chatters. Wataalam wa kuchati. If you may forgive me ladies, you are experts in that area. Kama mnaweza kunisamaha, mipige mawe, nyinyi ni wataalamu sana kwenye hilo eneo. Hear me very well. Nisikilize makini. Every time we are given by God under this heaven, muda wowote ambao tumepewa na Mungu chini ya hii, is purpose for time. Kuna kusudi ndani ya huo muda. There is a season for things to happen in our lives. Kuna majira ya vitu kutokea kwenye maisha yetu. When those seasons come, hayo majira yanapokuja, the Holy Ghost prompts you to pray about something. Roho Mtakatifu anakuhimiza uombee jambo fulani. And you refuse. Na wewe unakataa. I'm at home, I want to pass by. I miss you; I want us to chat. If someone asks you, "Are you there at home? I want to pass and chat with you?" No, you planned to read your Bible that time. No, you planned to read your Bible at that time. It's not a sin; tell them you are there, but you planned to study your Bible. I'm here, but I planned to take my Bible study. They will be ashamed. If they continue and say, "You can read some other time," then you know these people, this person is being used. You need to ask them, "Are you being used?" You tell him, "I plan to read my Bible," and he says, "You can read later." You told him that you planned to read the Bible; he tells you that you read later. And you think he is not being used? He is being used by the enemy. No, the time has to come. You guys be honest. You know, the time should come; let's just be honest. Learn how to tell people the truth when you are speaking to them face-to-face. That is the problem with most of us Tanzanians; we don't tell each other the truth.
I don't know what happened; maybe something occurred. You know, some time back I was traveling by bus. And when the bus is traveling, they reach a certain, probably a center where there are a lot of things happening. There are a lot of people. They arrive at certain towns where many things are happening and there are many people. And the driver's girlfriend would come and begin to talk to the driver at the door of the bus. And the bus is not moving. And then the passengers, instead of talking to the driver, talk to each other. "What about this guy, man? This guy, I mean, some people, man. He doesn't care about time." Shut up, be quiet. Talk to him. What are you afraid of? Tell him; this is the problem with many Tanzanians. He is your friend. If he hates you because you are reading the Bible, then let it be so. You planned to pray. It's your prayer time. And he just pops in without any prior notice. You meet him at the door. He says, "Praise the Lord. How are you?" "Why are you blocking the door?" "You found me; I was actually going to pray." "So what if we do it tomorrow, at this time?" "If you don't want to pray, let's watch a movie." He's being used. Tanzanians, learn how to be honest. The Bible says, "Speak the truth in love." You don't have to hate someone to tell them the truth. Somebody shout hallelujah. Save your time. Use your time wisely. If you use your time wisely, you will use it to grow spiritually. You can use it to grow financially. You can use it well to grow your relationships.
You know, sometimes I don't understand who I am. Sometimes I tell God, "Maybe you need to reduce some of this boldness and courage." One day, I saw two people in a restaurant, a man and a woman. The way they were sitting, I observed them; I saw their fingers, and I realized that they are a husband and wife. So I was eating, and they were waiting for their order. And each one of them, with his or her phone, was busy; nobody was talking to the other. You know what? I rose from my chair and I went and greeted them; I bowed like this. I said, "Sorry for interrupting. I am Pastor Peter Makongoro. May I please know you? If I offend you, please forgive me." And the man spoke, "I am Mr. So-and-so, and this is my wife, So-and-so." I said, "Thank you." I said, "You know why I've come here? You are young, much younger than me. I've seen life. What you're doing is not good. You may hate me, but I have to tell you the truth. You are husband and wife. You came here so that you can eat together, and I've observed you are busy with your phones, each one of you." I thank God that young man was very respectful. He told me, "Baba, I respect you for that. You taught me a very big lesson. Please, you said you're a pastor; pray for us so that we will stop this." I am switching off my phone. And he switched off his phone. I don't know whether the woman switched off her phone, but she put it in her pocket. I told them, "You can use this time very well to strengthen your bond. Every time you decide to do something, wherever you are, listen to me carefully; every time you decide to do something, ask yourself a question: Is it worth it? Please promise me you will ask yourself that question. Just ask yourself the question: Is it worth it? Should I use this time for this? If you conclude that it is worth it, well, go ahead, but at least give yourself an opportunity to question how you want to use that time."
This doesn't mean you shouldn't entertain yourself, but ask yourself first. Do you deserve that entertainment? Are we together, children of God? Sometimes, you know, you don't have to be doing things all the time. Sometimes it will be wise to use time for rest. Stand up, please. We're not finished, but we want to pray. Wherever you are, stand up, lift up your right hand, and repeat this prayer. Say, "Heavenly Father." Say again, "Oh, Heavenly Father. My Heavenly Father, please Lord, from today, I decide to use time wisely. Give me wisdom, give me wisdom, and help me to be disciplined so that whatever I plan to do, I will be able to do it effectively. Help me, Lord. Help me, Lord. Help me, Lord. Help me, Lord. To use the time you've given me with wisdom, in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen." Sit down. Use your time well. Plan how to use it. Plan how to use it. There are many people; if they just plan their time, you will discover that you have three hours, probably three or four, three hours, completely free. You can use that time to take a course online. You can use that time to learn how to use AI. You can use that time to learn how to make investments. You can use that time to learn how to grow certain crops if you are interested in farming. Learn consistently until you have some knowledge or skill that you can work with.
What else? What else? What other area requires discipline? Appetite discipline, or appetite control, the ability to control your desires. There are many desires, and let me tell you something: it is the inability to control desires that caused Adam and Eve to fall into sin. The devil showed them a desirable fruit. Oh, I think it was lunchtime when they were hungry, and they couldn't control their appetite. There's an appetite for food. There's an appetite for sex. There's an appetite for money. There's an appetite for fame. If you cannot control your appetite, you cannot go far in the kingdom. Many people have fallen down because they were not able to control their appetite for this or that. David fell into sin because he failed to control his appetite for sex. Saul lost his kingdom because he couldn't control his appetite for power and fame. He wanted people to know he's a king and can make decisions, and he couldn't obey God. When he was asked, the reason he gave was people—these people. He wasn't really afraid that they would beat him, but he was afraid of losing his status before them, and he compromised. Appetite, appetite. If you cannot control your appetite, Jesus fasted for 40 days and 40 nights, and the devil came to tempt him with appetite. The Bible says he was hungry; he was hungry, and the devil came and said, "Wow, you know you are very much anointed. You know you're anointed, you're a son of God, and you're hungry. Why can't you command this stone, and it will be bread, and you can eat?" Imagine, he was hungry. If it were one of us, I don't know what I would have done if it were me, to be honest. The days of finishing the fast had come, and I am hungry, and someone reminds me, and I am in the jungle; there is no food, and I don't know if I have the strength to walk from there back home. And someone is advising me, "You have the anointing after you fasted 40 days; you can command this stone to be bread." Jesus controlled his appetite. He said, "No way." Are you hearing me, children of God?
Appetite, appetite is the will and desire to fulfill what the flesh desires, and you want to give in. If you cannot control yourself in that area, you can't go far. The time has to come, and that time is now, where you make a decision; appetite, appetite, enough is enough. You are under my control. You know, appetite is created by God, but we are not supposed to abuse it. Appetite for food is created by God, not the devil, but you can't use it anyhow. Appetite for sex is created by God. Don't stone me, but you can't use it anyhow. Wait until you get married. And even when married, when you are in prayer, please control it. Somebody shout hallelujah. In the book of 1 Corinthians chapter 6:12 and verse 13, 1 Corinthians 6:12 and 13: "All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of anything." Verse 13: "Food is for the stomach and the stomach for food, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body." In this single verse, the Apostle Paul is zeroing in on two of the most dangerous appetites: the appetite for food, which is causing people not to fast, not to pray, causing people to kill each other, and the appetite for sex. There are many appetites, but those two are the most important. You need to be able to control yourself; you need to discipline yourself. God created you with the ability to feel hungry and have a good appetite. It doesn't mean every time is eating time. No. It doesn't mean you shouldn't fast. And there are people who will, without shame, confess that they need prayers because they are not like others; fasting is a problem because their body has this kind of appetite. Who do you think doesn't have an appetite? You have to discipline yourself. If we had time, I could go into detail about some of the things you need to do to manage yourself.
Create a distance between you and the source of your temptations. Create a good distance between you and the source of your temptations. 1 John 2:15-17. That will be the last portion we are reading, and then we close. 1 John 2:15-17: "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever." The desires of the eyes. It is the appetite of your eyes. Eyes have appetite. You want to see everything; everything. "I've never seen that. I've never seen that." And the moment you allow your eyes to see everything, your eyes are passing on information into your system, and then other appetites will rise. Do you know how David fell into sexual immorality? It was the appetite of the eyes. There was a careless woman who was bathing somewhere, and her bathroom didn't have a roof. You know, those Swahili bathrooms? You go in, and then you hang your clothes so that people know there is someone there. But the neighbor had a high-rise building, so he could see down. I believe that was the case with David because he saw that woman taking a shower, with his eyes. If it had been an accident, seeing her once would have been enough; he would have turned around and never looked that way again, but he saw her once. I'm building a scenario here; now I'm guessing what happened. The eyes started itching; look again, just look one more time, are you seeing well? Look again. And he looked again. This time, he couldn't turn away. Now the message was passed on into his system. Another appetite took over: the appetite for sex. Now he began to make plans.
You said it well. And then that appetite was fulfilled, and another appetite took over. Now his fame, his power was in danger; he needed to protect that. You know, it's like a chain reaction. Be very careful with your eyes. Some people cannot overcome a certain weakness; they are busy praying, "Lord, deliver me from this," but there is something they watch, something they see every day, and that triggers other appetites. Hear me very well, and don't forget this: if you want to advance in the kingdom, you must be strong enough to overcome your appetites. Only use them where it is right to use them. Obey your appetites only where it is right to obey them. And if it is leading you to something bad, you must possess the ability to tell your appetite to shut up. Stand up. Lift up your right hand wherever you are and repeat this prayer. From the bottom of your heart, you must mean it. Say, "Holy Spirit, I cannot manage myself; I surrender to you. Help me, Holy Spirit. Help me, Holy Spirit, to control my appetites. Help me, Holy Spirit, cleanse me from the inside; give me the ability to say no where I'm supposed to say no. From today, I refuse to be a slave of appetite; I cannot be under the power of any of those destructive forces, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ." Somebody say, "Amen." A big hand clap to the Lord Jesus. A big hand clap to the Lord Jesus Christ. Please, please take care of these things that I'm teaching you. These are the things that are hindering people from progressing. Father, we thank you for this meeting, that we are meeting from all over the places, over the internet, but we are together spiritually. We thank you, Daddy, for everyone who watched this program.
