So, I'll just show you a couple of my favorite tools for holding a scrub pad when there's something on the glass that needs a bit more of a scrub. Um, bit more than you can get with just your waterfed pole brush.
Um, the Maker Handy Sleeve is really, really handy. It's a bit like um an applicator tea bar really and it just has this velcro sleeve that goes on it with the button there and uh you can stick an abrasive pad to that. These walnut pads are one of my favorites or there's also these bronze wool pads which much the same way. It's a slightly different type of texture. um really gets into the surface of the glass. If it's very hydrophobic glass, this really gets into the surface of the glass and makes it almost hydrophilic again. Um so really interesting, the bronze wool, it's really fine wire type mesh and it really gets into the surface of the glass.
But also the great thing about these is you can put a cloth over them and that will stick on there as well if you need to wipe down uh fascias and sophets with their dripping wet. Sometimes I quite often put a cloth over just to wipe down those drips um so that they don't dry and leave spots on the fascia. Sometimes you get some dirt that seeps out from the cracks and crevices. So that's really useful to be able to do that.
Um, but one of my favorite new ones is this new techno pad, which is a really handy flat pad holder. And the great thing about this is it rotates in two directions, up and down and left to right. So, it makes it really versatile. And the nice thing about this is you've got a good big flat area um that you can scrub at one time. So, the walnut pad goes on there really well. And uh it's really good for things like uh skylights. This is really good for scrubbing those big surface areas like that with the scrub pad.
And you can use either of these in hand. We've got a really good sturdy handle especially on this technopad or you can use it on a pole setup. A couple of poles here with the opt cone from some of the poles. Uh this is the pole which comes with the cone head already attached. That goes on there really nicely and then you can use it at high level. Either of these will fit on there just right and uh you can use those with a pole or if you've got a pole that you want to adapt to use the optilock cone, you can do that as well. This is a phantom pole which has the cone which slots inside like that. You just have to make sure you have the correct fitting here which is the correct diameter for the pole that you have.
Also you can get uh gardener also do attachments so that you can attach a traditional tool. It won't be the opt, but they do their own adapters to fit the gardener uh tools as well. So, that's another option. You can get adapters um and gooseeneck adapters in order to be able to fit a pad holder onto the back of your brush setup at the same time. The downsides with that is it can make the brush quite awkward to use when you've got that pad on the back of it all the time. it can get in the way and bump into things like the set when you get to a top of a window. The other thing is that it means that you've got that extra weight at the top of the pole with the brush. So, that can make it quite heavy and awkward to use from that point of view as well. But, that is an option that's available. I prefer to usually have a scrub pad on a separate pole like this and then you can just grab it for those areas that you need to give attention to something like this with the extra pad and scrub holder.
The other reason I really like this technopad is that uh it's flat and slimline like this. So you also can put the cloth over it. And it's really useful for the inside of conservatory roofs or anything high internally like that where you want to put a cloth over it. And it because it's got that swivel in two directions, it makes it really versatile for uh getting around those awkward places. because it's flat, it tucks in behind um those bits of plastic, sometimes those coverings. So, that's another reason I really like this technopad. Such a useful little gadget to have as part of your tool kit.
