[Music] Hello ladies and gents. Welcome back to my main channel. [Music] Today we're going to be talking about how to completely change who you are as a person based on science. And I've divided this into four stages which will take about 66 days because it takes that long to actually change your brain. How do we actually manifest? It is through changing our identity and who we are. So, if you feel like you've been trying to change and make progress and nothing is happening, this video will definitely help you. And the full notes page, which I'll be showing you in this video, is available for free download on the mind formula. So, check the description below. Also, my revolutionary journal, the life formula, will definitely come in handy after this video. It's available on Amazon if you want the hard copy and it's also available for PDF download for only like $13 I think on the website. So, let's get into it. [Music]
By changing our identity, we are changing our reality. Therefore, we are actually becoming somebody new. If you're under the age of 30, this is the prime time to do this because it gets harder to change who we are after the age of 30. Our brain is much more rigid.
So phase one is going to take 1 to 7 days or as long as you want because really we're just trying to get into our brain here. Why do you find it difficult to change who you are? It's because our brain conserves energy by relying on familiar patterns therefore reducing uncertainty and also minimizing effort. That's why we have automatic behaviors. That's why it's so hard to change a behavior or a habit. It's called predictive coding. Secondly, the default mode network and habit loops reinforce behaviors even if they no longer serve you. Hence, bad habits. It's ingrained in us at this point. Probably heard this in school. Neurons that fire together wire together. Which means the more we are repeating an action, a behavior, or even an emotion associated with an event, we are building stronger neural pathways, which makes it even more difficult for us to break this loop. Fourth, change is expensive. It is hard to change especially because our brain is going to resist it going back to point one because it's trying to conserve energy. It's using predictive coding. So it's going to try to resist change even if it is good for us. It wants to keep us safe because often for the body if we are changing something it feels unfamiliar. Therefore it feels unsafe. Therefore your brain might be telling you to actually not do that thing.
So it needs to have pattern disruption. So why does disruption work? There are three ways. Number one, old neural circuits will weaken and they need to be weakened. Two, neuroplasticity must be activated. Thirdly, emotional memory circuits in the amydala must be recalibrated.
So on day one, I want you guys to take some time to write down your core beliefs. What do you believe about yourself? What are your limiting beliefs? For example, you might have this thought, I can't be rich in this life because I associate money with bad things. I have been taught that money is bad. It's going to cause stress in my life. I will be a bad person if I have money. What are your core beliefs? Try to go through everything in your life. Money, love, status, career, your personality, your friends. Try to go into every area. Secondly, what does your daily routine look like and how do you want it to change? Thirdly, emotional triggers. This is something that you're going to realize more of the more you do the work. The deeper you go into yourself, the more triggers you're going to realize you have. And personally, I think once you kind of unlock that in your brain, you just take the first step into exploring yourself, more and more will come up come up as the years go on because you're actually opening yourself to being confronted now and to be uncomfortable. Reoccurring thoughts, your thought patterns, language patterns. Do you talk poorly about yourself? Do you put yourself down? I have a lot of videos related to this, so I will be linking it in the description.
Next, create a new self narrative. I am no longer a person who has to work hard for money. I'm a person who money flows freely to me. I'm not a person who struggles with love. I'm not a person who gets cheated on. I'm the type of person who gets whatever I want. I'm a winner. D. Next, identity beliefs stored in the amygdala can be reshaped via cognitive reframing, which is exactly what we're doing here. I've taught a lot of cognitive reframing strategies in my other videos. I will link that below as well. So, the amygdala stores emotional threat associations. Repetitive identity statements such as, "I'm not good enough get stored here. And repeating alternative statements while interrupting the old ones weakens the link." And there's another point that's going to come up in a little bit, but we can actually interrupt a thought pattern by simply shouting like stop or even having a a rubber band that we can snap to just snap us out of it.
Second, eliminate social media, doom scrolling, and also any toxic input such as short form media. Replace it with intentional content or silence. This also includes music. By the way, music that has negative lyrics is going directly into your subconscious mind. Hoffman 2013 showed that over stimulation of dopamine pathways leads to amydala hyperactivity and blocks hypocample plasticity. Digital overload overstimulates dopamogenic pathways reducing your brain's capacity for intentional attention and delaying cognitive flexibility. So essentially if we are constantly bombarded with media especially media which is not good for us it is going to make it even harder for us to change. Our brain will become more rigid and and it reduces our attention.
Cognitive interruption. This is what I brought up like one point ago. The rubber band method. Anytime you act like the old you or you're thinking like the old you, just snap a rubber band. You can use this for limerance as well. I talked about this in in another video on my second channel, the limerance video. I said often times people who are in limerance, they don't have feelings for that person anymore. They have just become so used to thinking about them that it has become a part of their identity now. So in order to forget about them, you actually just need to break the habit of thinking of them. Snap. Anytime you see a car, oh, he had that car. We drove on this highway together. Form a new association.
Four, micro fast from comfort. Engaging in mild physical discomfort like a cold shower, silent hours or fasting from dopamine sources enhances neuroplasticity in our brain and also it helps reduce our learned fear responses and stress loops by recalibrating the amygdala and it also improves our self-control via the prefrontal cortex and overall it's just a key growth factor in creating new neural connections. So what do we take away from this? We need to disrupt our old thought patterns and replace it with new thought patterns to create a new self. And secondly, we can use micro discomforts to recalibrate the amygdala and activate neural growth.
Phase two, days 8 to 30. What is neuroplastic encoding? Neuroplastic encoding is the deliberate rewiring of your brain through repetition, visualization, and embodied action. It builds new identity circuits using principles of neurogenesis, a goal directed dopamine signaling, mirror neuron activity and also memory reconsolidation. So we want to form new neural circuits through repetition, emotion and also movement. Neurogenesis in the hippocampus is enhanced by novelty, focus and physical engagement. Identity needs to be embodied, not just imagined.
So we have to take actions and these are some core practices we can do every day. The morning protocol. We want to strengthen our prefrontal cortex which is associated with self-control and reduce activity in the default mode network which essentially is generating the story of who we are. We want to promote meta awareness and separate our thoughts from our identity. If you've read the power of now by Echart Tole, he talks a lot about how we are not our thoughts. And if we want to go a little bit more esoteric, we are not our thoughts because our thoughts can also come from generational trauma. It can literally be your mother or your father or your ancestors thoughts. It can be the thoughts of someone else, the energy that you have absorbed from them. Tang 2015 found that 5 to 10 days of meditation significantly increase cortical thickness and decrease stress reactivity in the amygdala. So my previous video we talked about my favorite meditation at the moment which is ho'oponopono. I suggest starting with ho'oponopono and also just doing some silent meditation.
Visualization is great because our brain can't even tell the difference between what is real and what is not real. So if we're doing mental rehearsal, it's triggering the same motor and emotional neural networks as if you were doing it in real life. So, if you're someone who's very afraid of public speaking, visualize yourself confidently and successfully speaking in a room full of people and your mirror neural system is going to fire as if you are actually doing it. By the way, the life formula will help with everything we're talking about.
Write three things at the minimum that you are grateful for every single day. We actually have a section in my journal where you can do it every day. And why is it good? Studies have shown that gratitude journaling actually increases our happiness and prefrontal activity even weeks later. So, it's having a long lasting effect on the brain.
To simplify it all, we want to also have one habit, one behavior that your new self is doing that you're going to do consistently every single day because habit formation takes approximately 66 days. And consistency has been shown to be more effective than perfection. You need to choose one behavior that reflects your new self and you need to track it with check boxes or a habit app or in the mind formula. Duh. The way I'm just selling my journal here, but I'm not really actually we go through everything in the mind formula. We have new self, old self. Other YouTubers be copying my journal now. True Habit tracker. If we're creating one habit at the minimum, we're not overwhelming our brain. It's very easy to stick to it and we're also creating a chain effect and we're creating a stable cue reward loop in the basal ganglia which is our habit center of the brain.
Somatic rewiring movement plus affirmations. You can literally go for a walk, repeat your affirmations, dance, repeat your affirmations, anything that's like uh getting your body to move because don't forget your trauma is stored in the body. Our body keeps score. It remembers everything. Movement enhances neurogenesis which is the growth of new brain cells and movement also increases mood learning and executive function via brain derived neurotrophic factors.
Okay, memory recoding. It's interesting that science talks about this because Neville Goddard talks about this and it's essentially rewriting the story. At the end of the day, we can use memory reconsolidation or rewriting the story a process where recalled memories can be changed. They they are emotionally reactivated. So, you can essentially go through your day and think about how it went and think about what you'd like to change. Perhaps you had a fight with your boyfriend. You want to imagine that the fight never happened or that the fight went a different way, a more healthy direction because memories are not fixed. And when reactivated, they become labeled and subject to change within a reconsolidation window. So, we have to take advantage of that.
Okay. Phase three, which is emotional rewiring and identity stabilization. Emotional synaptic tagging. Your brain prioritizes learning that has emotional intensity. This is because emotional events can cause a surge in neurotransmitters like dopamine, neuropen, why can I never say this? Neurop, neuropenine. Hello. Um, whatever that I help >> neuropenphrine >> and serotonin, which acts as a signal to the brain. Emotion enhances memory encoding. So, if we're having a positive effect plus action, we're causing long-term change in the ventromedial prefrontal cortex.
Social commitment. Public expression increases our brain's accountability circuits. So, you can literally tell somebody the changes you want to make or how you're changing and have them hold you accountable. The dorsal medial prefrontal cortex when reflecting on how others see us. Thirdly, belief encoding. When repeating our belief, we're activating Broca's area and also the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex which is related to reasoning and belief formation. And this engages our belief coding circuit, making it more likely that your repeated self narratives become actually real and not just affirmations. Saying aloud, "I used to believe, now I know," is pattern interrupt plus identity remapping, which we talked about in phase one. I love to do EFT tapping for this. You can use Brad Yates. He he pretty much goes through this exact process.
Okay, weekly tools, social proof loop, share your progress, tell a friend. It helps keeps you it helps to keep you accountable. Two, identity testing ritual. We talked about this in my healing video on my second channel. And I said, you don't actually need to heal. You need to know what you need to change. And next time this event comes up again or you get re-triggered, you choose differently this time. You don't go down the same path you usually do. So instead of going, I need to heal, isolating yourself, you just need to choose differently in that moment. How would your new self react? Especially if the event is super emotionally triggering. Your brain will especially remember that. So if you're choosing differently in the moment, that is a super fast way to creating a new you. You need to be re-triggered. You need to test your new identity. Third, emotional anchoring. Emotional anchoring. Engage with movies, books, podcasts, media that mirrors your future self. Belief rewiring. We talked about that.
Okay. And this is the last phase which is day 66 to 90. At this point, you should already be a new version of you. But this is just further reconsolidation. So this is when you stop becoming and you start being. It is automating who you are and the expansion of your behavior without conscious effort. Your behavior at this point should be shifting from the prefrontal cortex to the basal ganglia essentially from effortful control to automatic behaviors. You stop thinking about it, you simply are. You are being embodiment. Pattern 2024 showed that when people align with the future version of themselves for over 60 plus days, the ventromedial prefrontal cortex begins treating the new behavior as the new self. And you should also see your manifestations rapidly come in at this point.
Teaching locks it in. Pretend you're a YouTuber. Pretend you're a TikToker. Teach your friends. Write on a whiteboard. It helps to solidify it even more so in your brain. Next, public action equals self-commitment. We talked about that previously. You need to be held accountable. It activates social self-monitoring regions in our brain that increases follow-through and reduces identity relapse.
The final practices are layer your new habits. Each week, add a new habit that is going to reinforce your identity. But start with just one and do it every day consistently and then you're slowly going to build more habits on naturally. Next, write a time capsule letter. Record a video or write a message from your one year self and use it as your compass in tough moments almost as if your future self is talking to the current version of you. Next, bold public expression. Prove the new you publicly and cement your social self. This is something that should naturally be happening as you formed a new version of you. Perhaps the current version of you is very isolated, very, very shy, but they want to be a TikToker. By the end of this process, you probably have rewired the parts of yourself that is shy, uncomfortable, and you're naturally now comfortable in front of the camera. Teach what you've learned. We've talked about this.
That is the end of this video. I hope it was useful. I hope it was useful. If you want the notes page from this, it is available on the mind formula for totally free download. I think our system's actually down at the moment or it's going to like spam and we've been working on it for a while, but it's been very complicated. Um, if you've ordered the mind formula via the website, 99% chance it is located in your spam. If it is not, send us an email. We have like a temporary email um, which is the mindformulas@gmail.com and we will get it sent out to you. And we're also going to backtrack all orders from like January. And if you also sign up for the marketing program, you'll be hearing back in a couple of days. We sent out the first round of letters a few weeks ago, but we've been waiting for me to come back from holiday basically for us to like properly start everything. So, there's still opportunity for you to get chosen. Anyway, thank you guys for watching this video. Choose [Music]
