[Music] God spoke to her and God said if you do not deal with this sin right now you will have to sorted out in the lowest level of purgatory. We're going to talk about the Beast sins, the four of them, what they are, and above all, how to get out of them in today's video. This person gave me permission to share all of this, so let's get right into this because it's really important for us to understand and tell you everything that happened. So, this is a person that I've been working with, and they have this tremendously beautiful faith life. They um go to church and all the sacraments and this wonderful, rich life of prayer, really beautiful. When you see all of that, you think, wow, this is someone who's growing in holiness, but like all of us, has some struggles, specifically in the area of gluttony. And on the surface, when you look at it, you wouldn't see that there's a problem, but there's these subtle things that sometimes we ignore. And God began speaking to her with some different things, saying, "Hey, you tell me all the time that you don't want to go to purgatory, but this is disordered, and if you do not deal with this, you will end up in the lower levels of purgatory."
Now, as soon as she said that, all the things that I've been reading about, it's like they became illuminated, and this is exactly what I want to share with you. So, first, I made this handy chart that I'm going to have on the screen at different moments, and I want you to take a screenshot of it because it lays out essentially the whole logic of the video. And once you see that, you'll understand everything. It'll be so clear. I always like making things kind of compact that you just unpack and and then take it with you wherever you go.
So, first of all, we have to understand the three parts of who we are. Human nature, um, and whenever goes from physical to spiritual, it's um, more complicated. And then the spiritual is always simpler. So, our uh, physical part is really two parts, um, our lower part, our body, and then our mind. And then our spiritual part is our is our soul. So, there's really three parts of us: our our body, our mind, and then our soul, our soul being the highest.
Now, for um, for those three parts, there are three different sin types. Now, these are basically the seven deadly sins. The easiest way to remember these is L.A.S.V.E.G.A.S. That's right: Lust, Anger, Sloth, Vanity, Envy, Gluttony, Avarice, Sin. Do you like that? Now, you'll never forget the seven deadly sins.
Now, the four Beast sins are the sins that most look like what an animal does. This comes from our lower regions, our body. Now, in this sense, we share in this nature with the animals. And when we commit these sins, we tend tend towards being carnal and beastial in that sense. That's why um, that Princess Eugene Verion, when she would have souls in purgatory appear to her from the lower levels of purgatory, what would they look like? Do you remember some of those videos? This was about a year ago that I was making these. They would appear to her in the form of animals, as snakes, as hippopotamuses, um, as monkeys, because they essentially, in doing these sins, we're being guided by our impulses of our body, not our mind or by God. And then we're looking and making ourselves and shaping ourselves literally to be more like animals.
What are the four Beast sins, as I have them laid out here? Gluttony, lust, avarice or greed, and sloth. Think about these. So, gluttony is our bodily survival by food. Lust is our bodily survival through sexual acts. Avarice is our bodily survival, uh, dependent on money. And sloth is our bodily survival on rest and work. So, if you think about these four and you really kind of analyze it, this is the roots of the Pagan religions. This is why they worshiped these gods. What did they worship? They worshiped the gods of grain and food and this animal or cows, why? Because food sustains you. And then that's why they had, uh, they would worship the god of fertility or sex gods, why? Because they sustain, sex sustains the human race. So, it's like this base level of sustaining you. And then this is why people now worship money, why? Because money helps us survive. And then this is why um, people in some sense now, you could say people worship rest or worship laziness in this excessive way, why? Because too much work can kill you. And so, the idea here is that these are impulses that come from our body, and if we listen to those impulses and are enslaved to these things from the impulse of our body, we then let it become our master and let it become our God.
Now, if you think about the three levels of purgatory: the Great Purgatory, the Second Purgatory, and the Antichamber or the Threshold of Heaven, this is where it really became illuminated to me that that these sins that you're purifying specific sins in each of these. Now, it's probably the case that in all of these different levels of purgatory, you're purifying all different types of levels of sin. But if you understand the logic that I'm laying out, that the lower sins are purified in the lower purgatory, the middle sins, the ones related to sins of the mind, are purified in the second purgatory, and the highest sin, kind of the last sin for us to purify, we purify in the last level of purgatory. If you think about it, that completely makes sense. These also correspond, if you look at that chart, to the stages of purification in the spiritual life. The purg when we move from mortal sins out of mortal sins into only committing venial sins, the illuminative where we're moving to getting out of venial sins and not purifying faults, and then the unitive stage where we're becoming one with God and we're purifying those last defects. And later on, I'm going to talk about the gifts of the Holy Spirit that, uh, that these deal with, as as well as virtues that we could develop to counter these sins.
Now, let's go back back to the different sin types, going through all of them and then talking about a few in specific so you could really understand this. So, we have these kind of four basic survival bodily sins that we can tend to fall into that we must conquer, and that we experience them as these impulses from our body. Um, again, gluttony, lust, avarice or greed, and then sloth or laziness. Now, if you struggle with these sins, in the Christian tradition, they talk about these as the carnal sins, those from our lower regions. That's how they would kind of speak of them. Before we want to conquer them, because when we fall into these sins and they dominate them, us, we look more like animals.
Now, even people that aren't of faith will see that these are carnal sins. We talk about this in kind of the philosophical tradition, that you want to rise above them and and be more a person that your mind controls your body in this sense, that your that reason orders your passions. Now, from a completely secular perspective, you want your mind to have dominance over your body. From a faith perspective, you want to go one step higher. You don't just want to submit your body to your mind, you want to submit your body to your mind, and then your mind to God. Now, we take that next step, and that's a step that that those that don't believe in God, that they simply cannot take.
What are the two, uh, sin types of the mind? Anger and envy. If you think about this, if you think about kind of what's at the root of these, now, if for the body sins, it's this kind of basic level of survival. You're facing these fears and conquer them because fear is something, it's like a lower thing from our body. We have fear because we have a body, because our body can die, and that's the root of fear. The root of fear is the fact that our body can die.
Now, when we go to that higher place, to our mind, it has more to do with justice. Anger and envy. So, anger being that something that was owed to you or something that was yours was taken away. If you see that definition, you could understand everything that makes you angry in terms of that, or something that was owed to you or something that you had was taken away. That's kind of a sin against justice. It causes anger and it could lead to the sin of anger. Now, there is such a thing as righteous anger. For instance, if someone hurts you or or kills someone that you love, you're going to feel righteous and rightful anger. But when it passes that line, then it starts becoming a sin.
Now, with envy, this is a little bit different. This is where we have something, and someone else has something in justice, but we think or perceive that perhaps that is owed to us as well, and we become envious that we don't have that, even though it might possibly be the case that we don't deserve that or we haven't worked for that. So, for instance, when we see someone that's being paid more at work, we might have envy because we have this kind of skewed view of reality, we have this skewed view of justice. We think, "Oh, well, I should be paid as much as they are," when possibly it's the case that they're more talented or have more experience or have been there longer. So, so we can see anger and envy as sins of how we perceive things with our mind, of faulty view of justice.
Now, as I was saying before, when it comes to physical things, it's there's more complication. Spiritual things are always simpler. So, we see that there's four bestial sins, two sins of the mind, one sin of the soul. What's the one sin of the soul? There's only one: Pride. Now, think about that. This is really quite profound. There was only one sin that the angels could commit, and it was that of pride. Why? Because with the body, there's always fear. With the soul, you cannot be afraid with the soul, why? The soul is immortal. So, once you die and and you're just a soul, and you realize you can't die anymore, you have no reason to fear. Nothing in that sense can be taken away from you. So, you're not, uh, tempted to the bestial sins, nor are you tempted to the the sins of the mind. I'm, you really only tempted to pride. Why is that? So, Satan and and the other angels, this was their temptation. It was their choice to acknowledge who holds you in existence, you or God. That was the essential question: Will you acknowledge that God holds you in existence, and you do not sustain yourself? And Satan, we know what he answered. He was deceived by his own beauty, he was deceived by his own incredible, the way that God created him, and he was under the illusion that he sustained himself in existence. When the reality is, the only reason why we exist is because God is holding us in the palm of his hands. We are not self-subsisting. That's the philosophical term. We do not exist on our own. We only exist because at any given moment, God has choosing and willing to Hold Us in existence.
Can you see how this is a difficult challenge that we must face? That this indeed was a temptation for the angels, that since they had all this power and glory, they would be tempted to think, "You know, God, I don't need you. I don't need you to hold me in existence. I can do that on my own." That's pride. Humility is recognizing that without God, you are literally nothing, literally, metaphysically, philosophically, existentially, without God, we literally fall into nothingness. That everything that we have, even our own existence itself, is, uh, dependent upon God choosing that and willing it, which he freely does. And if you really consider that, uh, the idea that our existence depends on this infinite being who's free and intelligent is actually quite frightening, especially for people that that don't know God, that they don't know that God is good. And and that's where that's where the difficulty begins, where we have to submit to a God that we cannot fully understand.
So, we see these, the four bestial sins: gluttony, lust, avarice, and sloth. And then the sins of the mind: avarice and envy. Sorry, uh, anger and envy. And then the final sin that we must conquer: Pride. Now, you can see that in the anti-chamber in heaven, that final stage, um, that unitive stage of the spiritual life, that final stage of purgatory, that's what's being purified in us. All the pride that we have had in life, all the times that we have said, "I am my own God. I hold myself in existence. God, I don't need you." And we become fully dependent, fully united to God.
Now, what are the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit that can help us conquer the seven deadly sins? Yes, this, this kind of perfection. I, uh, referred to this in another video where I talked about the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit and how they're used and how they manifest in saints. So, you may, I'm going to see if I could link that up right here. If not, search that on my channel. I released that like about a week ago.
Now, in the, uh, the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit, there's three for the mind, two for the heart, two for our will. The will is the place where we will re, really conquer these four beast sins. So, I'm going to stop. I'm going to start with the top ones and go down to the bottom and go through them very quickly. The gifts of the Holy Spirit for the mind are wisdom, which gives you knowledge of God. Knowledge, which informs your ability to understand the faith. So, wisdom has to do with God. The gift of knowledge has to do with our faith. And then counsel has to do with being able to understand what's going on on the human realm. So, God, faith, and the human realm: wisdom, knowledge, and counsel.
Now, the two gifts that you want for your heart are understanding, which is an ability to enter into the heart of another person, to really know and understand what they are going through. Now, this is a contemplative gift, quite powerful. And then piety. So, understanding kind of informs you what's going on in the inner workings of another person. Piety strengthens the amount of love that you have, specifically towards God, and it is specifically a filial love. When you ask for the gift of piety, you love God with the power of God, the way that the Son of God loves the Father. I'm going to say that again: the gift of piety gives you the power of God to love God with God's own love. Isn't that amazing? That can you imagine if you were to love the Father the way that Jesus loves? That that's what the gift of piety is. The more you have, the more you mirror Jesus.
Now, the two gifts of the Holy Spirit that will incredibly strengthen your will, there's two. One serves as a shield to protect you against, one serves as a sword to march forward in decisions that you have to make. The shield gift is fear of the Lord. The more fear of the Lord you have, the more fear you have in offending God, fear in committing sin, fear in losing God. Um, the saints that that had this in high ability, had this like incredible wisdom in knowing how to avoid sin. So, they made their lives easier to where sin didn't have to even be a struggle anymore. They knew how to put that protective shield around them. They understood and saw what do I need to do to where sins wouldn't even reach them because they'd be put at arm's length. It gives you the supernatural ability to do this. Fortitude gives you the ability to choose difficult decisions. So, in practical terms, fear of the Lord helps you avoid the donut and say no to it because you know it's bad in terms of the sin of gluttony. And fortitude gives you the strength to choose the broccoli because you know that it's good for you.
So, what does it look like to submit our lower passions to the mind and then to God? Now, we're going to use an example with gluttony because it's so important and it's kind of one of the most basic ones. And in a certain sense, it was like that, that's the metaphor that's used for the original sin, a sin of disordered eating. What does that look like? So, in a sinful way, you get a passion for this for junk food and you give in. Now, if you're submitting it to the mind, you're thinking, "Okay, I'm having this urge. What should I eat that's healthy?" That's kind of a higher way of doing it. But an even better way of doing it is to stop and to pray, "Lord, I'm having this desire to eat one. Lord, should I eat? And number two, what should I eat?" And do you see how submitting it to God becomes an opportunity for prayer in the midst of a desire?
Now, God might say, "No, you shouldn't eat right now. You're not really hungry. Why don't you wait till lunch?" And you have this conversation. You involve God in your daily life. And God, you give God permission to speak to you. You will grow in this. At first, you will speak and you won't hear anything. Over time, you're going to grow in your listening ability. But what could possibly happen? God could perhaps infuse into you what you know you need to eat this because this will help this and help that, and this has these nutrients. And then God begins giving you all this knowledge about the mysteries of food and all the nutrients and vitamins that it has. And and you end up having this wonderful conversation and revelation and you end up saying, "God, that is so amazing. I had no idea that these nuts or these fruits or this vegetable was just so good for me, that even just this knowledge feeds me. It feeds my mind." And so, you see how when you submit that passion to your mind and then to God, it could even become an opportunity for contemplative prayer. It could become an opportunity for holiness.
My friends, be careful with those beast sins. Submit them to your mind and then to God. Ask for the gifts of fortitude and fear of the Lord because we do not want to go to the lower levels of purgatory. We don't even want to go to purgatory at all. We want to be saints.
