I spent an evening with a billionaire trying to figure out what he knew that I didn't.

I had dinner with a billionaire, and I spent the whole evening trying to figure out what he knew that I didn't. He owns a hotel worth over 500 million dollars. And I own a hotel worth 20 million dollars. Of course, the highest four-star hotel in my country. 9.5 on booking, 3,000 reviews. But still, 20 million.

So, I watched him, every word, every answer, every reaction, waiting for that moment, waiting for the moment where I'd see it. That secret, the secret, the superior strategy, I don't know, the different intelligence. It never came. He didn't know more than me. He wasn't smarter than me.

And then I saw it. Not what he knew, how he breathed. I was intense. He was calm, still. Someone brought bad news during the dinner. I would have tensed up. He nodded slowly and kept eating.

And I realized the 480 million dollars difference between his hotel and mine wasn't knowledge. It wasn't strategy. It wasn't connections. It was nervous system. Calm is a competitive advantage. Panic makes expensive decisions. Calm makes generational ones.

I've been optimizing everything in my business. I don't know, systems, people, products, maybe marketing. And I never once thought to optimize the thing that runs all of it. Me.
