With fixed signs, the Sun comes into a fixed sign every second month of each new season. These are the stable signs as far as their mode of operation. Remember, modalities are modes of operation. Fixed signs follow cardinal signs because they stabilize. Organized after cardinal signs bring change, so they're kind of the, you know, the secondary crew.
They're fixed signs can be inflexible in their style. They prefer to do over what is already in existence. They try to keep things in place rather than creating something new, so it's more about recycling instead of creating. They want to manage whatever is existing. Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius are all very prone to digging in. The resistance is really two things happening too quickly. So these signs are happiest when things remain as they are.
Mutable signs are comfortable with being the followers of the zodiac. Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces are the idea signs, the thought signs. They exist in the world of thoughts, intuitions, what-ifs. They these are the changeable signs. The mode is that of flexibility. They are not set on any one way. So this flexible approach enables them to entertain new thoughts, new concepts, new ideas.
There's a lack of sticking power, however, with mutable signs. They do tend to be restless. These signs don't create change like cardinal signs do, they precipitate it with their ideas. So they're the end of the modality cycle and, in some ways, the beginning. Mutable signs are known for their learning, their way out of their current values. Their thinking leads them to shed their old ways.
