Hi, I'm Luch Danato. Today, we're here in White Plains, Quezon City, to show you a very special home designed by Ed Kalma. As you guys know, Ed Kalma's design philosophy is more on the modernist approach, and this house right here is no different. So, the house sits on a lot size of 574 square meters and spans over 1,800 square meters of living space. I'm super excited to share it with you guys. Let's go!
So, the house is four levels plus one roof deck. As we enter, you can see we have a very beautiful glass elevator, which I'll be showing you guys in a bit. But before that, I want to show you this beautiful open-layout living area and kitchen. The kitchens were sourced from Italy, and you can see these beautiful mechanisms to just pull out. You can see we have the nice stainless steel sink here, and you see how these pull up very smoothly, very sleek, beautiful designs. One thing that I love about these cabinets is the spice rack that comes out. So, if you guys need to elevate your spice rack pulling experience, this is it. It's so beautiful.
The next thing I want to show you guys here is the outdoor area. So, this has that indoor-outdoor living experience. Once you open these very heavy-duty, it opens you up to this very nice, tranquil 12-meter pool here. On the side, you'll have a more shallow area; it's just more kid-friendly. And if you want to do a bit of short laps, you have this entire 12-meter span to swim on. You have a beautiful large mango tree here, which still gives you that open and privacy at the same time, which I think is very cool.
Next thing I want to show you guys is the office. Here, we have your password or card-protected entry. Very nice detail by the owners. So, this home was actually intended for end-use by the owner, so you can see there's a lot of love that went into the detail. You have a nice amount of floor-mounted outlets so you could work on and you could put your workstations here. What I love about this room is that you also have glass walls. You can put your markers here and start writing your ideas. So, very cool office space right here.
So, this is the living and the dining area, plus your office and your outdoor space. You can see how beautiful the ceilings are. These are all real teakwood. Um, these aren't so common anymore, especially in this day and age where most of the ceilings you see are mostly PVC. Look, so the owners went far and beyond to look for and source these beautiful teakwood ceilings. So, we're done with the office, the living, the dining, and now we're going to go up to the bedrooms. Let's go.
One thing that's beautiful about these Narra planks and this glass railing is this is not very commonly done. Usually, it's a glass with a straight line. What they did here is they followed the groove of the stairs. It's a bit more difficult to execute with tempered glass; shatters much quicker. So, there's definitely a specialist glass provider that can do this, definitely not all of them, only a few. Very nice touch.
As we get to the bedroom level, we're now on Level Four. We will start off by checking out the second bedroom, could be a kids' bedroom. So, as we enter the bedroom, you can see these beautiful Narra planks as well. These planks, these aren't also very common. They don't make them this wide anymore, so the owners had to source these specifically and took them a while, I've heard, to source these, but very beautifully done, very beautifully varnished as well. You can see all of the bedrooms are floor-to-ceiling windows, and that gives you really nice, good natural light in the room, and you get a beautiful view over there. You can see the mountain ranges over at Antipolo. You have, I think, Bridgetown is right there, and that's like the C5 lane. We have a nice walk-in closet as well and a beautiful, beautiful bathroom. So, I, I know these countertops are not tiled; these are real marble stone, which gives it a very nice, sleek, floating look. I like that very much. Also, with the tiling, it's all very natural colors to give it that sort of very spa feel, spa vibe.
Next up, we have bedroom number three. Follow me. So, as you can see here, this could be a kids' bedroom as well, or this was designed to be a kids' bedroom. You can see you have a sort of a playful approach to this bedroom. You have a double bunk bed that was customized into the ceiling, as you can see here. We have this glass wall here, which also can double as a writing wall. So, if your kids want to get creative and they want to, you know, express themselves, they've got this whole wall.
Another nice thing to note about the house is that it's fully automated with the lights and all the curtains. So, you can control all the lights and all the curtains through this dashboard, and if you don't want to be using this, you've got the remote. So, easy, easy way to control your curtains through the simple touch of a button. This bedroom also has its well-appointed walk-in closet that leads into also a very beautiful bathroom with natural tiles, natural-colored tiles, which gives it a very easing to the eyes sort of vibe. This has a very nice sliding door as well for the on the shower with a little pocket garden. Very cute. And, uh, if you're a bit shy, don't want to show yourself taking a shower, we've got the blinds here that you could pull down. Very convenient.
So, those are the two bedrooms. And last but not least, before I share with you the guest bedroom downstairs, I want to share with you the Master's bedroom, which is here. Entering into the Master's bedroom, you see we have the same beautiful Narra floors, which opens up to an anteroom. It's a beautiful anteroom, and then with a glass partition so you could see the Master's bedroom inside. So, here you can put all your entertainment systems, there's a work area, you could put a nice sort of sofa so that you can watch movies from in here, and you don't have to have a TV in the bedroom per se, which I think is a really, really nice touch.
So, come here into the Master's bedroom, and you'll see what I'm talking about. Imagine waking up to a view like this. It is amazing. You see everything from the mountain range, there's Eastwood right here nearby, the same view from the other bedroom, which is the mountain range, and far here, you can see pretty much everything, right? It's, um, it's amazing. It's a great way to start the day. Now, these sliding doors can open pretty much all the way as well, which gives it a nice open vibe. Just look at how open this bedroom is. It's amazing. Beautifully designed. Always, there are our ceilings, our teakwood ceilings, which give a very nice, homey, natural touch.
Another thing I love about this Master's bedroom is this huge balcony that wraps around pretty much half the house, if you can see here. Imagine coming out of your bedroom just to get some fresh air. No lack of space here, for sure. And the view is just spectacular. This is really something special, guys.
So, another thing I want to share with you guys that is also really special is the Master's bathroom. Let's go. They are using real travertine stone. These are not tiles, all throughout into the counters. Very beautifully done. Here, you have the less exciting but very clean-looking toilet right here. And on the other side, you have the more exciting toilet right here with a view. So, you can see that, yeah, if you want a toilet with a view, um, you've you have this as an option. Comes out straight out into the balcony, or if you're a bit shy, you've got the curtains here as well that could cover it up. Okay.
Another nice touch to this bathroom is I love that they put a bench in the shower. If you're deep into contemplation, I always believe that some of the best ideas come when you're showering. So, this is a great touch by the owners. If this were my shower, this would get used a lot. So, that's the bathroom.
Now, we enter into the walk-in closet. So, these are imported cabinetry fixtures that opens up that, yeah, very well-appointed. And as you open, you have the lights coming out so that you have a better view of whatever you need to grab. So, you can see here, very, very cleanly done. This, this, this cabinetry set. Now, you can see here as well, you have all the cabinetry you need. You have a lot of storage space, which I think is great. Always good to have more storage than you need. Very nice texture on the cabinet as well. And of course, so you don't get hot, got the aircon as well in the walk-in closet.
Now that you've seen all the bedrooms, now let's head on down to the game room and the gym. One of my favorite spots for this. I'm going to take the elevator and I'm going to see you guys downstairs. So, here, what's special about this elevator is primarily a lot of glass in it. Very, very nice, very aesthetic. You can see the background light coming out from the backdrop, gives it a really nice, pleasing aesthetic look. So, I'll see you guys downstairs.
Okay, we are on Level Two. I'd like to think of it as the wellness and entertainment floor. Come, I'll show you why. Right here to the left, we have a bit of a study area or a work area. You can see here, you can have all these outlets that you can take out and do your fast charging, followed by the gym with already installed with proper gym flooring. You've got your mirrors here, nice brick wall for texture, and you have the fans if you don't want to use the aircon, just to keep it well-ventilated. And to the other side, we've got your entertainment room, which is pretty much a theater with the billiard table. It's a nice place to to host. So, if you guys like to host, it's a great place to have movie nights, game nights. If that wasn't enough, it leads up straight here into a small guest room with office space. Now, they just took out the bed frame here, but this is really, um, known as the guest room. And right here, we have the bathroom for the guest room. Very nice with a well-appointed shower and toilet.
And if we enter here, we will have what we call a playroom for the kids. As you can see here, you have this wall where kids can climb and have fun. You know, another thing that this could be a place where you could store art if you collect art. So, this really, this area is whatever you want to make it into. For now, it is a playroom for kids. And a really nice touch here is that there's a pocket garden right outside as well. So, we are done with Level Two, or the the wellness and entertainment area. Now, we'll head, we'll head down to Level One, where the parking area and the utilities are. Come on.
This house is one of the only through lots in White Plains. What that means is there's an entrance on one side of the road and there's an entrance on another street. So, if you want to have your privacy and don't want to be bothered on your front side, you can receive packages and mail through this side, which is the first level. As you can see, we are two levels below from where we started, and you can see right here, we have your gate to the next street on the other side. And more than that, we have your eight-car garage. So, if you guys collect cars or you have a big fleet to to park, this, this place won't have any problems. This, this can well fit eight cars, and on the other side, on the road, you probably have another space for two, which makes it about 10-car parking, which is great for a lot of people that want to be collecting their cars.
So, as you can see here, we're on the other side of the property, and you can see here the other street is here. This is the back entrance. It's an automated gate, just like with most of the house that's automated. Another thing I want to point out here is the cantilevered pool from the bottom. You can see it's cantilevered, and with the backdrop of this beautiful teakwood ceiling, it just is such a sight to see. It's gorgeous. You can see here as well, the water's coming down from the pool, which creates the sort of waterfall effect. Gives it a nice, nice sound of water as you're entering the house, which is always nice and calming. Uh, so, as I said earlier, this is a through lot. It's probably one of the only through lot properties in the whole of White Plains. So, what we started out on the other side, which was up on the third level, we are now on Level One. We're on the other street, and you can see here we have the other entrance. So, you can receive mail or packages from here if you don't want it to be going through the front door, so you don't get bothered in the front area. You can see here, I'd like to think this is the back side of the house. Very beautiful lines, very clean lines.
So, we're done here with Level One, which is the parking area and the storage. The one thing that I haven't showed you guys yet, and I think it's one of the, the pièce de résistance, the roof deck. It's beautiful. You know, White Plains is pretty much a hill, so I want to give you guys the experience of what it feels like to be on top of the hill. Let's go.
So, last but not least, let's go check out the roof deck. This roof deck is extra special. It spans the entire floor plate of the structure, and if you can see here, they've installed the pergola system, so you can host here, and if it's sunny, it's roofed. But the pergola can also slant automatically, so that if you want to let a bit of sunlight in, it can do that as well. Let's not forget that the pergola also has solar panels installed on top of it. So, during the day, you could have nice savings of, uh, electricity. And one thing that's really nice about this is I love. Most of these roof decks are usually padded on with turf grass, but this particular roof deck has some nice natural Bermuda grass on it, and it's something that you really need to see in the flesh. It gives it a nice, very natural, homey vibe to have this natural grass on a roof deck. And if you haven't seen it yet, check out the view. You could see everything from here. You can see the mountain ranges over at Antipolo, Eastwood here nearby. You can see, um, it's the Bridgetown area there, the rest of White Plains. You know, you have, you're on top of the hill here. It's a spectacular view.
