Hey guys, this is my first time in Phuket, Thailand, and I only have 5 hours to explore this entire place. You see, that was the enthusiasm I had when I first entered Thailand, but unfortunately, it was short-lived due to unforeseen circumstances.
Hello everybody. I know it's a little bit unexpected on how I'm starting a video on a cruise, but today I'm going to be going to Phuket. Phuket is a pretty small place of Thailand, and we're currently on our way there from our cruise holiday. We're going to be stopping there for about four or 5 hours before we head back onto the ship. I have not been to Phuket before; it's going to be my first time, so let's see what awaits us. Let's go, go!
So, before entering Phuket, we first had to attend a mass briefing at the theater, and eventually, they released us in batches so that the exits wouldn't get so congested. But to be honest, I don't really think that did anything. After scanning my key card, it was time to leave the cruise ship and enter Thailand. Thailand is a country I've been wanting to visit for quite a while now, and I'm so glad I finally got a chance to do it. But we only have 5 hours to explore around Phuket, and we needed to be quick, so this was our plan: First was to head to a supermarket so that my family and I could get some tidbits and snacks. After which, we will head to a shopping mall to get some clothes and souvenirs. And once we are done, it will be around the evening time, so we will head straight to the night market—something that I have been really looking forward to in this entire trip. And to maximize our time, we thought it was a great idea to hire a shuur to drive us around. [Music]
Phuket, my first time in Thailand. It's always so cool how you can finally see what you always see on social media, and everything just comes alive.
Last few days, heavy rain, is it? Yeah, flooding, flooding today, good. The reason why we were so anxious about the weather was because a few days before this trip, Thailand experienced a lot of heavy rain and flooding, and you can still see the aftermath of the audio.
After about 15 minutes, we arrived at our first location, a [Music] supermarket. What is up, people? So we are in a Thai supermarket. I think my main target is to buy as many snacks as possible, but everything here looks so foreign, and I don't understand Thai, so it's going to take a while for me to decide what to get. So yeah, let's just go walk around.
After browsing the shelves for a bit, I realized that this was a tourist trap because everything was just marked up and expensive, so I wasn't really pumped about buying any item over there. I just walked around and took some [Music] b-rolls.
It is now time to head to our next location, which is the shopping mall, and that is when something super devastating occurred. It started to rain so heavily, and it was extremely disheartening because that would mean that the night market would not be open.
Feeling a bit down, we still proceeded to the shopping mall to kill some [Music] time. Now, I forgot what this mall was called, but our plan was to shop here for the next few hours to wait for the rain to stop. Okay, so we're going to spend the next maybe an hour or two in this mall because it's raining right now, and we can't go to the night market. I really hope that it's not going to rain tonight because I want to go to the night market so bad. I've never been to one before. So [Music]
After getting a donut, I went to walk for a bit, and I kind of regretted not trying the other delicacies instead. I'm so not a shopping person, cuz it's only been 15 minutes, and I'm already sitting down. Also, because I just came out of the cruise ship, it's really funny because I can feel everything still moving up and down.
I walked for a bit, and I found this pop-up shop; they were selling shoe soles for $200. Who's paying $200 for a sole? All right, I'm going to go see what's inside. A Dao in Thailand; there was nothing different at all. Walking out empty-handed. All right, that's it for this shopping mall. We're going to move on to, hopefully, the night market if it is not raining heavily. Yeah, you got to want to stuck there in the G for nothing. Know we just got news that the road towards the next place that we're going to is flooded, which is pretty set, so we're just trying to change location right now. We're just trying to find somewhere else to go. Honestly, it's been raining so heavily the past few days in Thailand; there's a lot of places being flooded, so it's pretty sad at this point. We just wanted to find somewhere to eat and call it a day since there were not really any other places that we could visit at this time.
Eventually, we settled for the seafood restaurant by the roadside. Okay, so now we're having dinner at the seafood restaurant; it's by the roadside, and we're just going to have a really big dinner because there's not many other things we can do in Phuket anymore. The night market's closed; there's a lot of places flooding, so we're just going to have our dinner first, and we're going to see what we can do after that.
Since there was nothing else for me to film, I just do a food review first. Two side dishes were these vegetables and the Thai-style omelet, which I love. Also, one of the things I was looking forward to when coming over here. Next with these—I, I don't know what they were, something fried—I, I got burned, but they were nice. Oh, but these fried fishes and the lobster were so delicious; like, I don't know what they put in those, but they were so good, and these were the highlights of our dinner. Overall, even though I thought it was on the pricey side, I enjoyed it, and I'll rate it an 8 out of 10.
All right, we just finished our dinner. I ate way too much food because I did not have anything for lunch cuz I was trying to recover from the cruise ship. As you can see, it's still raining really heavily, so that means we can't go to any night markets or anything, so we're just going to drive around Phuket and do some sightseeing. I don't really know why I said sightseeing because it was so dark; we could not see anything. In the end, we just drove back to the cruise center because there was legitimately no other things for us to do.
All right, and that unfortunately is it for Phuket. Bye-bye, yo. Maybe not all hope is lost because there is a night market—Night Market—next to the cruise center. Our cruise is right there, and there's like a whole street over here, so yeah, I'm just going to go explore this place. I mean, might as well because I didn't never get a chance to go to a night market. Oh my God, the wind is picking up. [Applause]
All right, that may not have been the most authentic night market, but at least it was something. And on that note, it was time for me to call it a night. I was so exhausted, and I was ready to crash onto my [Music] bed.
All right, everybody, that concludes our Phuket trip. I'm kind of upset that we didn't manage to do so many things, but at least I can say that the food is good, and I think I'll definitely return to Thailand for a more complete trip because this was such a short stop-over on a cruise. So yeah, maybe I written the B it anyways. Thank you guys very much for watching this really short Vlog. If you guys want to watch my full experience on this cruise ship, do check out this separate Vlog. And if you guys enjoy my content, do consider subscribing and checking out my other videos as well. All right, that's it for this Vlog. Thank you guys very much for watching again, and I'll see you—oh, and I'll see you guys next time. Goodbye. [Music]
