Doing something new requires DOUBLE the energy! #creator

When you are trying to do something new, it will take double the amount of energy to get that new thing done. Let's say you want to start making videos, and you have never done it before, or you haven't done videos in a long time and you're trying to get back on the horse. What you might find is you'll get as far as putting on your clothes, scripting the video, putting on your makeup, but for some reason, by the time you're done all those things, you're exhausted and you can't bring yourself to actually film the video. This is normal.

What I learned is that your nervous system will try to protect you when it sees anything as a threat, and you doing something new is a threat to your nervous system. So it's going to take double the amount of energy to even get that new thing done. And so the next time halfway through a task you give up on it, instead of feeling bad about not finishing the task, be proud that you did half of that work, because the next day you might be able to accomplish a bit more until your nervous system realizes this is safe to do.
