Canva just dropped a new wave of AI updates. And most creators have no idea how powerful these are. One of these tools can literally copy the exact style of any graphic. Another one makes custom 3D objects. And there's a tiny little feature that lets Canva AI give you live feedback right inside your project.
These Canva updates are not the shiny fluff AI feature that so many brands introduce nowadays, but rather actually functional tools helpful to anyone trying to create more in less time and grow as a creator in 2026. Canva rolled out so many new features with this update, but the sooner you use them, the faster you get ahead. And I'll show you the real use cases, not just the surface level stuff.

If you've ever wasted 30 minutes hunting for an icon that fits your brand colors or matches the style of this design, this will change everything. The style brush just got a massive upgrade. And if you've watched my videos for a while, you'll know how much I love this little tool. And I'm excited because now you can harmonize graphics with a click or two. Let me show you how.
Now, let's start with this example in here. Now, as you can see, I have these beautiful kind of sketched out elements, but I have a few of the different elements in here that I want to swap out. Now, full disclaimer, this is an actual template, but I wanted to make sure that I can show you something. If you can find anything in the Canva library that would match the style of your design.
Now, all I have to do from here is to go and select the element that I want to copy the style from, then just go to copy style from here. And the first option is copy art style. And you can see that the style was copied from the eggplant in here. Now I'm going to just click on the graphic and you can see that it starts loading. So in the meantime I can actually click away, let it load and from here I can keep copying the style and apply it to the different elements. Just make sure that in between you're always selecting the original. And voila.
Now all of our elements are these beautifully sketched out elements. And I love that the style is completely matched. Now, of course, as you can see, the tonation is a little bit different, and we still have the tools within Canva that allow us to just adjust it and tweak it ever so slightly. Of course, you can continue and try to, you know, change the art style by clicking on another element and trying to apply it this way. However, I want to show you that if you select the element, go to edit here at the top, and then go to adjust. From here, you will be able to just adjust it ever so slightly. So, from here, you can see that the darkness in here is a little bit too much. So I would take the shadows down ever so slightly like this. So you can see that just changes it a little bit so it becomes a little bit less pronounced like this. And then from here what you can also do is to just go to the duo tone style. And in here you can actually make it custom. And I could go ahead and just choose that bold deep green. And from here I could choose our background like this. And from here, if you see that it's not dark enough, you can actually just tweak it so that it matches the style just like this. So, you can see that it already changed the vibe. And let me fix the other ones in the same vein. And then you'll see how beautiful the end result is. And voila. These are our styles adjusted like this. You can see a different iteration that I was able to get from playing around with copying style from different elements on that graphic. And I love that it's so easy now to blend the elements. Before you would have to just scroll and scroll to find a specific element that matched or maybe try to find a collection to use a whole collection of different elements, but now it's super easy to just blend that style. And it's great for quickly tweaking the templates or just making sure that everything matches your brand perfectly.
But just getting your style matched isn't enough. Here's how to make sure every design actually looks like your brand.
Now, this is the update I've been waiting for. The brand kit is finally living inside Canva AI. What does it actually mean? Well, finally, anything you generate with Canva AI, so social graphics, posters, presentations, anything can now automatically use your brand colors and fonts from the get-go. Not only does it save time massively, but it's also so much easier to just imagine the end result fully. I tested this with a few brand palettes, and honestly, the results are so much better than before.
To use this, of course, we're in Canva AI. You can also access it from the tab in here. Now, I'm just going to give it a prompt like this. And then from here all you have to do is just to specify what you want. But then you just need to click the plus sign in here. And then from here you see the apply brand kit function. Now I can just click and select my brand kit in here like this and supply any of the other images that I want to show up within that template. From here all you have to do is to go to submit and Canva AI will start working and generating your design for you. And from here, you see already that we're getting better results than we would otherwise. I see my fonts being used. I see my colors. So, as I've mentioned, is very easy to imagine what the end result could be when I swap any images that I want and maybe when I change the wording as well. So, this is super cool and it's a great first draft just to get me started on generating other things.
Now, if you want to edit anything from here, you can go to the pencil icon in here and that's going to take you to the editor and you will be able to just edit it as you normally would in design. And then from here, you can also give feedback. So, if you like a particular result, you can say that's a good result. If you don't like something, you can also just downvote it like this. So, this is super cool. And of course, from here, you can keep tweaking. So you can say more poster designs or maybe make the colors feel like you can see the suggestions in here. Or you can supply your own media further just to get a bit more of that feel. And maybe from here I want to say make the style feel like uh and I want to select bold just to have something more in your face. And again let's see what Canva does for me. Okay, I have more options in here like this. You can see that there are kind of different tweaks that happen. So this is super cool. I actually like this one quite a lot. So I would be able to again take it to the editor and work on it further. However, what if I tell them that I need something a bit more in a bluish tone rather than using all of my purples? And again, from here, you can see that it says, "Hang on tight while put this together." And a heads up that specific tweaks to color it might need a bit of a manual adjustment later. And this is the point of the generating within Canva that you can then edit everything later. So, not everything's going to work. Now, it actually gave me a bit more of that bluish tint. It still didn't remove the purple. So, I think I would just stick to something like that in here. But you can just click the pencil in here and from here you see that you've got all the editable parts like this. From here you can go to color like this and you would be able to apply different palettes. But of course the main point of this whole thing is that we can use our own brand kit. So I can just go to the Canva editor and from here you can see that everything within here is completely editable. So I would be able to just tweak it to what I like. Now I have Migra as a supporting feature actually in here. So, I would be able to just change it to my source sans pro font in here. However, you can see that it's very easy to tweak anything. And again, if I didn't want that gradient to be in here, I would be able to just choose a plain background like this if I wanted to or just play around with other parts of my kind of brand kit like this. So, it's still very much kind of adjustable. I can do whatever I want to it. You can see that it generated that image for me. I would be able to pull from my drive as well. So, this is super cool and it still gives you a very good first draft.
But setting up your brand kit itself used to be a pain. Here's where Canva's new AI shortcut is just a godsend. So, Canvas made it almost effortless. You now have the option to let AI set up your brand kit for you, either from your company website or by uploading your PDF brand guidelines. Canvas AI scans what you already have, grabs your colors, your logos, fonts, and drops it all into your brand kit. So, you start with everything in place, not just a blank screen. And this saves so much time, especially if you've been putting off brand setup because it felt overwhelming or you just had no time.
So, in order to set up your brand kit, all you have to do is to go to the brand tub in here, and you'll see different brand kits, of course, that you have underneath your account. Of course, I've tested many, many different things. I have plenty in here. However, if you want to create a new brand kit for yourself, all you have to do is click here. Now, I'm going to just say Tastish Test Kit. This is one of the kind of mock brands that I've created, but I already have this setup kind of created for it. So, let's say a test kit in here. And you can see in here that you can preload a company website or upload your guidelines. Now, my website is not very upto-date in terms of my branding. So, I cannot use this. And of course, I don't want to use any other creators website because it would feel a little iffy to do that in my account. However, I can upload the guidelines from a PDF and see how well Canva does with it. So, let's just grab it like this. And you can see it's going to start scanning for brand information. So you can see that it added a few things for me. Let's jump into the colors just to see what's in the palette. And you can see that the whole palette, even with the names, was applied for my brand, which is super super cool. From here, if you jump to logos, you can see that it actually gave me three different logos in here. So this is super cool and it just helps you just get a good start to everything else. If I had a brand voice described, I can imagine that it would also be here. But from here, I can also describe my brand voice. So, this is super cool and it speeds up a lot of things, especially if you have a website pre-esigned. Of course, the brand hub in Canva is a pro feature only. Now, let's talk about templates because this is where AI is actually making things so much smoother. The design tab now has AI integrated right at the top. And if you can't find a template that fits, just start in by typing in the search bar. Canva will first, of course, show you the templates that match the vibe as usual. And these are from the real Canva creators, which I absolutely love because there's always something new to discover. But here's the best part. If nothing feels quite right, you now get a generate design option, which is a new Canva AI feature. And this gives you templates based on your prompt.
From here, let's very quickly just jump and add a new page in here. And I'm going to go to the design tab. And from here, you can describe your ideal design. Now, I have this specific keyword that I found with a different template within the Canva library. So, I'll just hit submit in here. And you can see the canvas looking through different things that could match this particular vibe, which I really love. And then from here, if you don't find anything that you think would fit the style, you can click generate design like this. And you can see in here that generated a completely new kind of design for me, it's something that's unique to whatever else you would be able to find in the library in here. So, I can just click on it and that's going to add it for me. And from here, of course, I can just kind of change the fonts, change the different images, overlay things on top of it as well. And that's just giving you a bit more of a of a variety in terms of your specific templates.
Now, I want to try something a little different. So, if I just click the X, it's going to take it away completely. And I can just enter a bigger prompt in here. So, generate an Instagram post template for a wellness coach launching a new four-week mindful morning challenge. The design should feel calming, bright, and modern using soft pastel colors and friendly fonts. Of course, there are different things that it's specifying in here. So, let's try to submit. And of course, this is so specific that it would be really hard for Canva to find something that matches from the library. So, this is where this feature really shines. Let's try it to generate something. All right. Amazing. This is what it generated for me. I'm pretty impressed, actually. I I think this is probably one of the best results that I got out of this feature when I was testing it. So, it's pretty cool. Of course, it's very minimalistic, which works for a wellness coach in here. And of course, you can see that this is an AI generated image in here. If you have something specific, you would be able to just detach it from a background and just apply your own. So again, this is something that would work especially if you have something specific in terms of your own images. So again, it works as a template. So you can switch out anything that you would like. You could just change the font in here, change to something that works for you. So I could go for Laura maybe in here. You know, you can just keep changing things just to work for your own particular brand. But again, it's something that could help you in terms of finding very very specific results that would work for your particular business and for your brand as well.
Now, templates are great, but what if you want just a little something that nobody else has? In the elements tab, there's also now this AI search bar where you can generate everything from images to videos, codelets, shapes, quizzes, and even 3D elements, which are also a brand new thing in Canva. Just type in your prompt and pick what you want to create. It could be a custom photo for your Instagram, a video snippet for your website, or even interactive elements. The thing about the AI elements is that you'll find different categories in different places. So, let me show you how to access all of them.
To do this, all you have to do is to just go to the elements and very similarly to the design tab, you can see this panel in here. Of course, you need to start by prompting. So, I'll use this particular prompt in here. I was trying to just kind of emulate what I've got in this template just to match the vibe and make things easier for myself. Now, the kind of best way to think about it is that you would have to just submit that prompt first. Let Canva search for things and then you can generate those images from here. So, I'll start by generating images, but know that if you go to this arrow in here, you can actually specify what you want to generate. So this is one kind of little hidden thing that not many people can just straight away see what it's all about. So you can see first I can try to generate images at first. Okay. Amazing, beautiful, beautiful results. Let's choose that one in particular. And you can see that I can just pop it into the frame and it's already kind of customized to me. It looks very natural, very beautiful. So already I'm generating stuff that would work for my particular brand which is quite amazing. I absolutely love it.
Now let's use the same exact prompt to try to generate a video. So again what you would do is to just prompt it in here just like this. And then from here choose generate video. Now from here you can see that it starts working straight away. So this is the way it works. It's a bit of a different flow that you would probably normally think of. Amazing. So this is the video. Let's see how it works. Incredible. Look at this. Like again you could use it on your website. You can use it on your socials and things like that. And I can just kind of pop it in here just to create that little kind of interactive element. And this is how easy it would be to make your classic post into a video post like this. Now, I really love the fact that this is now integrated within the Canva editor. So, I don't need to really get back into Canva AI to the kind of homepage and start generating from there. I can just keep the flow going within the editor, which is super cool.
Now, amazing. Let's jump to another design and I want to show you how you can actually generate a codelet. So this is also available in here. Now I'm just going to go ahead and search for elements. This is specifically for a quiz. So this is what I'm trying to do in here. And now I want to again generate a codelet. And what I would do here is to go to generate code like this. And you can see that from the prompt it start generating. So this is the kind of workflow for these different elements. You can see that it starts coding for you. So you'll see the progress with the lines being coded as you design. Okay. So let's include that in here. So, what does your desk say about your personality? Of course, this is kind of a beautiful design from beautiful template from our Canva library. So, I'm just going to open another one and imagine that this is actually just something different like for example a website. So, from here what I can do, so this is a new update that you can actually kind of tweak these colors in here. So, I can make the background the same as the foreground like this. And let's keep it like this. Let's try to make it minimalistic and let's actually interact with it. So I've just doubleclicked on it and from here I can start the quiz. So you can see that straight away you already see that I'm I I'm having the questions that I ask for in the prompt. You can see the little hover um animations as well. So I can just kind of keep clicking like this. And this is a completely interactive element. And from here it gives me my desk personality. So the organize achiever all about efficiency. It's a little fun kind of codelet that you can create. Of course if you prompt it more it's going to give you more. Now from here at this moment you cannot really edit that effect. So if you want something elaborate or if you need a lot of editing power you could do the same thing from the Canva AI tab on the homepage. However, if you need something very quick and interactive within the Canva editor, this is your way of achieving this.
Now let me show you how to quickly generate a quiz. So this is another option and it has a bit of a different workflow. So first what you want to do is to add text. I'm just going to hit T just to open up a text box. And from here, I'm just almost going to prompt it. So, I'll say generate a quiz asking what the bestselling product of 2025 was. Now, from here, all you have to do is to click magic, right? And from here, you have the generate quiz option, and you can just click on it, and that's going to start generating for you. Now, you can see in here that it prompted me to do the what was the bestselling product of 2025 in consumer technology. And this gives you an actual kind of little form that you can click on and it's also interactive like this. So you can submit and this is correct and this is a fun interactive thing. It also saves your responses and you can edit it further from here. So it literally just generates a form for you. Then you can start creating from it and of course you can start tweaking. So very often instead of just creating a form from scratch, this is another way for you to just create very quickly almost from a template. So it's super cool.
Now another thing that you can generate is a shape. And to generate a shape, all you have to do is, of course, to jump into your elements and then go to shapes. And from here, go to the shapes tab like this. And you can already see the pattern. We've got generate shapes underneath this lovely kind of search bar in here. So, let's search for a palm tree. And you can see that there are no shapes pertaining to the palm tree. So, let's generate a shape just to create something custom for my design. Voila. Amazing. We have some beautiful palm trees in here. Let's pick this one. This is a very very cool very detailed palm tree in here. So this is great and it behaves like a shape as well. So I could add add a little outline in here around it. I can change the color to anything else that I like. I can of course kind of have text in front of it and I can animate it. So this is our beautiful beautiful shape. Of course you can generate again you can make the um the kind of prompt a little bit more detailed to find something very specific. However, this is perfect and I absolutely love that we can generate shapes now as well.
Now, there's another super new thing that happened in Canva. By the way, go watch the new updates video if you haven't seen it yet because I'm going through all the different updates that really happened in this video and it's really, really cool to know what's happening within Canva. But this is a new category for 3D shapes. Now, to generate a 3D shape, all you have to do is to actually go to Magic Media. So, it's a bit of a different workflow in here. So, from Magic Media, you'll see images, graphics, videos, and 3D. Now, how to find Magic Media? All you have to do is to jump into your apps and you would be able to just search for it. You should also see it underneath for more from Canva. You can search for magic media like this. Just like that. And you can see magic media in here. So again from here you've got images, graphics, videos and the new category which is 3D. From here I can say and '90s old school record player. So let's just generate it in here and I want to add it to this particular design. Amazing. Just like this we have the record player. I wanted something white actually to just go in here or maybe something neon green. So, let's see if I can achieve this by prompting more. So, let's say neon green and generate again. There you have it. We have our record player in here. So, let's just click on it. And you can see that it added it as kind of almost like a flat thing. I'm just going to move it to here. But how it works is that you can literally just move it and reposition it, which is super cool for kind of creating fun effects like this. And you can change the position to literally just match the vibe of your design. Of course, it generated something too dark for me. So again, I would play around and just make it work. However, I don't want to spend too much time on it. So let's generate something else. So from here, I can go back and I can just say a '90s silver boom box this time. Okay, super cool. This is a vibe. This is our new boom box in here. And again, same thing applies in here. You can just move it around to the point that it kind of matches the vibe in here. So I can just create something fun like this and just add it to my design. And again, that positioning really changes how kind of you play around with it. So if I wanted this in this corner, I can put it that way. If I wanted it in this corner, I don't have to rely on it just staying that way. I can just kind of move it around to position it. So it's really, really cool that we're now able to do this. And just think of all the different applications that this little powerful thing has. And of course, I couldn't help it. I had to generate this little record player in here. So, voila. This is our kind of fun finished design and I can play with the positioning just like this and it creates really really cool effects.
And here's where things get really interesting. Canva AI can now act like an extra team member you can actually talk to. You can leave comments directly on your designs and get instant AI suggestions. So, it's like having a designer on call when you're working solo or as a second set of eyes when you just want quick feedback without sending your design off to a group chat. This genuinely saves time, especially for small business owners or freelancers who just need to bounce ideas off of someone but can't really do the classic back and forth or don't always have a team.
So, to consult Canva AI, all you have to do is just to select something and then you'll see the ask Canva panel. Now, once you click on it, you can see that it literally just opens up this panel. And it's almost like a comment panel as if you were talking to someone and collaborating within the Canva editor. So, I'm going to say how to make this design better, Canva. And from here, let's just click on this submit comment button. And from here, Canva will start thinking and answering us. So, right now in here, you can see that Canva says this is already kind of calm and airy and it matches the beach style. However, I could make uh the headline a little bit bolder, a little bit bigger. So, this is my kind of prompt from Canva. Aai as well. Now, what I can do as well is to ask for something more specific. So, I can just click and say, um, would a texture improve it? Amazing. So, it's set to me that I can actually create a light texture in here and it would match the vibe of the beach in here. And just to make sure that it doesn't compete with the pastel items, but to try a faint paint, per grain or sandy texture. So from here I can click and you can see the suggestions always. So instead of just giving me design advice, I can actually make an image with Canva. And from here I can say make an image of a light faint sandy texture. And from here I can click generate like this. And let's see what Canva creates for me. By the way, in the meantime, before it finalizes, you can see that all of these act as comments. So again, as I said, it's literally like a team member that you can consult. And this is really helpful in terms of, you know, trying to make things a bit more beautiful. It helps with spacing. It helps with kind of arrangement. It helps with making hierarchical designs with improving your headlines as well. So, it's a really cool tool, especially when you're a non-designer to try to consult with it and try to get a better design out of it. Okay, we got it. So, you can see that before I think it got a little lost and it generated just an image that I could use. Let me add that to to the design. Of course, it adds it as a background and you can see that this is what it did for me. Definitely not something I wanted because it literally recreated what I have in here. So you can see that it just tried to create an image based on what I already have in this template. So even, you know, you can see that even the text is very similar. This is a funny glitch. I've not had that happen before. However, it also generated this beautiful texture for me. So when I add it, it's literally just a texture. It does compete a lot with uh whatever is kind of on top. So I can just change the opacity ever so slightly just to make that little kind of delicate little texture underneath. And we have this beautiful design right now just improved a little bit based on what Canva suggested for me. And once I'm happy, I can just resolve any of the comments and they're just going to disappear and they'll be, you know, just um I'll be just left to my own accord and I'll just be able to get back into my designing flow.

And for my fellow Canva power users, this last feature might be the most underrated of all for everyone who loves to push Canva further. Canva code just got a big big upgrade. Now you can capture data from your coded elements straight into Sheets in real time. If you've created a form or a widget or an interactive app, all the data that your users put there can be collected instantly. This finally gives us the powers we desperately needed to create client questionnaires, contact forms, surveys, quizzes, anything where we need that info to get back to us in an organized way.
Amazing. We're on the homepage and jumping back into Canva AI in here. Of course, I need a codelet. So, I'll go for code in here. I'm not going to select anything else. I'm just going to prompt in a very very detailed prompt. So you can see that I'm specifying the visual style and also the different kind of uh questions that I want to ask. This is actually a client questionnaire for a brand designer just to help them kind of have that questionnaire for clients to just enter their own specific kind of brand style and what the guidelines would be and that would help them kind of start um the the kind of onboarding process and start the discovery process as well. So this is coding for us right now. Okay, let's go. This is what it created for me. Of course, as with anything else within code, you can just try to edit it by specifying specific things within the prompt box in here. So, you can just keep editing with Canva AI and it will just get kind of different things applied to it. However, I'm happy with version one. So, you can see that as a required field, what's your business name? Describe your business in one sentence. Then, you have the style and vibe that they want. You see the hover animations in here, which are super cool. Then which color palettes are you drawn to? So neutrals, earth tones, jewel tones, soft pastels. Pick up to three keywords in here to describe your ideal brand personality. And then anything you want to avoid in your brand if you know this is an optional thing. And then your email for follow-up. So I'm happy with it. I'm actually pretty happy with it. So what you can do is to just go ahead and connect it to a um a data sheet. And as you can see your app is connected to a Canva sheet. So it's branding questionnaire. I can just click on it from here and it's going to open it for me. So this is how easy it is to just see the data that will be pulled. So business name, business description, style, vibe, color palettes, brand keywords, avoid notes, email, and submitted ads. So that's your time stamp as well. And going back in here, I can just use it in a design. I want it on a website. And from here, it takes me right into this beautiful questionnaire like this. So I can just stretch this section out just to fit the whole thing in here. Now, a little thing that you can see from here, you can see that this is connected to a Canva sheet and you can edit it from here. So, you can edit the form content slightly as well. So, if I wanted to say something different to brand discovery questionnaire, I can name it differently. I can just change the sub headline in here. So, you can see that now we can actually edit different things within the Canva code. And I will publish this website and actually run you through it just to see how it works. So, I'll go to that page in here like this. And you can see that it will open it up for me. And this is what the website looks like. So you can see that this is this whole questionnaire exactly how we envisioned it on the coding state. So from here I can just enter anything I want. So let's fill it with test responses just to see if it collects it. By the way, I highly recommend you actually run a test like this for you because sometimes you know Canva doesn't connect the data very well. So you will need to just prompt it just to kind of avoid any issues like this. And then I'll specify I email in here like this. And let's submit. This is what your client would see. And hopefully our data was collected into the sheet now. Amazing. So we're in our connector. And you can see from here that I've got all the responses, right? So I've got the business name, the business description, the style vibe in here with all the keywords that I needed. Neutrals, earth, calm, luxurious, approachable, avoid notes, nothing in here. And then hello at Natia Kolinska. and then submit it at with a time stamp which is absolutely perfect. And this is how easy it would be for you to just grab these responses from your clients. And of course, apart from this, just make sure that you set up a reminder for yourself just to check this daily ad maybe by the end of day or something like this just to make sure that you're grabbing the data from this panel in here because it's very easy to miss and nothing in Canva actually shows you that there is new data appearing in here unless you actually go into the specific file. So, you do need to be very mindful of this. This is where we're at at the moment, but I feel like it's a super super cool option. Plus, you can now edit your widgets in the editor. Just select it and you can adjust things like colors and fonts right there. And this means you can build truly custom branded experiences, even if you're not a developer.
