tell you this video does have sound. Uh, but as you can imagine, a very fluid and dramatic situation. A lot of people are coming out with a lot of fear, a lot of anger over what's happening. So that video, uh, may have a lot of foul language in Spanish that we are not airing, and that's why you can't hear audio in that video.
Alexis, >> right now, we do have team coverage. We're going to turn to Local 10's Lenny Su Paul. She's joining us live from Palm Beach outside of Mar-a-Lago with new reaction from President Donald Trump within the hour, as a press conference is set to be held there later on today. This morning around 11 a.m. Lenny, good morning.
Well, Mar-a-Lago is pretty quiet right now. We are seeing a little bit of activity, but nothing unusual at this point in time. And we aren't seeing any increased security here on the Southern Boulevard Bridge. But I want to take you to the post on social media as the world waits to see this 11:00 a.m. press conference. His post reading, "The United States of America has successfully carried out a large-scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicholas Maduro, who has been along with his wife captured and flown out of the country. This operation was done in conjunction with US law enforcement. Details to follow. There will be a news conference today at 11:00 a.m. at Mar-a-Lago. Thank you for your attention to this matter."
And this morning, we're hearing from some members of South Florida's congressional delegation. >> Okay, great. Thank you. >> He posted, "Thank you, President, for your leadership and resolve to our brave service members who have conducted a stellar military operation. Praying this is the beginning of freedom and democracy for Venezuela."
We also saw this post from Congresswoman Maria Salazar, who wrote, "The narco terror imposed by the Maduro regime is over, thanks to the leadership of PUS and Secretary Rubio. Now it's time for the rightful leaders of Venezuela to restore freedom and rebuild the nation. Tonight, a new cry of freedom echoes across the hemisphere, loud, clear, and unstoppable."
We have not seen a tweet or any sort of post on social media from Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz at this time, but again, developments are unfolding minute by minute. So, it's just a matter of time before we hear comments from all members of the congressional delegation. But again, according to a social media post from the president, Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro has been captured and flown out of Venezuela after the US carried out a large-scale strike on the capital.
And this has been a major week of foreign policy here at Mar-a-Lago. Last Sunday, we saw Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky here. And then on Monday, we saw Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu out here, both discussing separate peace deals. So, a lot coming out of Mar-a-Lago this week. 11:00 a.m. is when we'll hear more about today's developments. We'll have live coverage throughout the day. Reporting live from Palm Beach, Lenny Saul, Local 10 News.
>> Lenny said it. A lot going on there. You were there just last weekend on conversations about the potential ceasefire and end to the war of Russia and Ukraine. And now here you are again, uh, today in this historic moment of the really volatile situation emerging in Caracas, Venezuela. Lenny, we'll come back to you a little later on today. Thank you so much.
We want to get to a statement that we received from Secretary of State Marco Rubio. He also posted to X, and you see it right there. It says, "Maduro is not the president of Venezuela, and his regime is not the legitimate government. Maduro is the head of the Cartel de los Soles, a narco-terror organization which has taken possession of a country, and he is under indictment for pushing drugs into the United States."
