Skinny Fat or Strong? The Aging Mistake You Must Avoid

I AM LONGEVITY3:15

Hi everyone, welcome back. This is a quick follow-up video to the one I made yesterday. People are confused. They say, they say in the comments section, "Well, what are you talking about? Old people lose weight automatically." Yeah, you're right, they do lose weight automatically, and they lose muscle tissue with it. It's called sarcopenia.

And then you've got the older guys that look bulky, they look healthy, and it's called sarcopenic obesity. They also lose muscle tissue, but because they're bulky, the fat is covering them. So you think they're healthy, but they also suffer, suffer from sarcopenia.

My way of doing it is, you lose weight, but you maintain the muscle tissue. That is not easy to do. Extremely hard to do. Let me give you an example. This is common knowledge in nutrition and fitness. If you lose 10 pounds and you just work out, eat regular, 50% of those pounds you lost, 50% of those pounds will be muscle tissue. People don't realize this. You lose 20 lbs, you lost 10 lbs of muscle tissue.

Unless you know what you're doing, you need to eat. This is why I eat very high protein. And when you're older, some people suffer from anabolic resistance. So you need to eat extra protein. That's why I make sure, I don't know if I have an anabolic resistance, but I'm going to make sure I don't. Even if I do, I'm going to cover myself. And I eat three grams per kilo of body weight, and I work out, and I diet. I eat less calories. I'm losing weight over two, three months span, four, five, six month span. But the weight I'm losing, I'm not losing 50% muscle tissue. I might be losing 10%. Maybe 10%. You're going to lose some muscle tissue, but the objective is not to lose too much muscle. Because let me tell you something, ladies and gentlemen, if you're over 60 and you lose muscle tissue, you could forget about it. You have no idea how difficult it is to get it back. It's very hard. Forget about it. You're 70, you can forget about it. It's gone forever.

All I'm saying is, you need to eat high protein if you're trying to lose weight and maintain muscle tissue. That is the only way. And I'm talking about high protein and work out. You still jog, and you will burn off the fat, but you will keep the muscle tissue because of the protein.

Anyway, I just wanted to clarify this because there's a lot of confusion in the comment section trying to like negate what I'm saying. I know what I'm talking about. All the people do lose weight, but not, not all, all the people lose weight. Some, but they get, they, that's what causes sarcopenia from losing weight, including muscle tissue. And remember, just because an older guy looks bulky, ah, he must be healthy. No, he could also have sarcopenia. It's covered by the fat inside the muscle and outside. People could look like they, they bulky, the muscles are bulky when they're 75, 80 years old, but they can have fat inside the muscle.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this. I have another video coming that's going to, whoa, it's going to wow people. Anyway, have a wonderful day. See you soon, very, very soon in my next video. Have a great day.
