Sun/ Jupiter aspects

On to the Sun Jupiter aspects. So, we talked about Sun Mars last week and how those can be interesting aspects because they are, uh, trying science to each other. And we have the same thing going on with the Sun Jupiter aspects. So, the natural relationship between Sun and Jupiter is trine. They are fire planets naturally on the wheel. We have the Sun naturally in the fifth house, ruled by Leo. Jupiter naturally in the ninth house, ruled by Sagittarius. So, the natural angle between them is a trine. So, they have a supportive natal relationship. They are easy friends. It's easy to combine these two factors, these two functions, because they are naturally compatible.

So, the, uh, aspects between the Sun and Jupiter are fun to look at, as are all aspects that actually have a, a natural affinity for each other. They have a pretty good natural relationship. It's, it's fun to look at those because we see them in different, different aspects of friendship that sometimes can bring some conflicts into things. But when we're dealing with planets that essentially have a pretty good relationship between each other, the difficult angles, the difficult aspects between them aren't as difficult as planets that have a naturally difficult aspect between them and then they have an accidental difficult aspect between them.

So, some Jupiter aspects are linking the ego and the superego, the, um, semi-personal social self and the social self. Because we have the progression of the identity, the ego, when we are looking at Aries, Mars, Sun, Leo, Jupiter, Sagittarius, the progression of the idea of the, uh, the, uh, personal self, our personal creativity, how that develops, and what we end up doing with that. So, our personal creativity in Sagittarius becomes something social. It becomes dispersed. It becomes shared. It's our offering to our tribe, our community, the people that we're socially interacting with, the people that share our common culture, our stories, um, the common meanings that we give to things, and the people that share that, that little section of the world for us. That's where that offering, uh, really takes place with Jupiter. So, it's how does our growth, how does our personal growth and the way that we have become educated, the quality of our expansive experience, how does that influence through dispersal of social contact? How does that influence the people around us and the whole? So, how do we educate the people around us as a result of our own, the dispersal of our knowledge and our experience?

So, we want to have some kind of impact with Jupiter. There's this drive to have some kind of, uh, impact or contact with others. Jupiter doesn't exist in isolation. This is a social function, and there's a sharing factor. We want to have others who share in our [Music] life experience, our gift. And our gift is the Sun in this case, our social gift. So, our, our, uh, personal creativity, our show, what we want to have validated in us, that's the gift that we're giving there, combined with Jupiter. So, there's a lot of recognition seeking with the aspects between Sun and Jupiter. And the, the type of aspect is going to show the nuances of that identity validation seeking, the affirmations seeking, that need to have ourselves noticed. So, we're a glutton for attention with most of the aspects between Sun and Jupiter. Jupiter is gluttony, and it's overindulgence. It's where we can inflate. It is hope. It is faith. And we need a certain amount of inflation in order to keep going because we're abstract thinkers who can understand the concept of tomorrow and of time. And with that comes incredible burden, uh, which we see all in Capricorn. But we're prepared for that, prepared for that burden of reality.

In the ninth house, and the Jupiter in Sagittarius, it's our buoyancy. How are we dealing with the hard facts? Um, because if we don't have a certain amount of wind in our sails, if we don't have a certain amount of hope or buoyancy, that we tend to give up. We can just become so burdened by the reality of things, and we may not be focusing on the glimmer of light. Because it's often that glimmer of light, it's a little bit of hope that keeps us looking forward. And that can help us to recognize opportunities that we may not have been able to see or may not have lasted long enough to be able to grasp. So, Jupiter is very important in driving us forward because it gives us just enough hope to take another step sometimes. And that can be when we finally have that opportunity that can propel us forward to what it is that we really, really want.

So, different people place their hope in different things. And some things that we can hope for are more in keeping or more closer to reality. And some things that we can hope for are much farther outside of the scope of reality. But there's different, different ways that we can instill hope into our lives, or what we will instill our hope in. I could just be made up of different things for different people. But Jupiter is a necessity. It's, uh, as long as you can understand time and you have Saturn in your life, you need a certain amount of Jupiter. You need something to believe in, something that can keep us expanding forward.

So, um, Jupiter has a lot to do with our survival, a lot to do with our personal and communal survival. The fire planets and houses are very focused on survival. And Jupiter is the social survival, the part of us that also has our fire rekindled in our relationships. So, uh, it's, it's the social contracts, the moral contracts that we participate in within a given society or culture. So, Jupiter is a lot of the morality that we live by. And that morality is a product of the particular time and place and culture that you happen to live in. Because we see different definitions of morality, right and wrong, depending on belief systems and [Music] what space and time you happen to occupy. Because what was moral and acceptable in, you know, ancient Rome is, uh, very different from what we consider to be more acceptable in modern times. And we can make that comparison all over the place between different cultures. And even, you know, in modern times, we could, you know, find cultures that are just completely different, as different from our own as you could imagine. And the [Music] morality that springs from that is very, very dependent upon that particular shared culture.

So, hope, luck, wind in our sails, those are all things that come from our belief in support and how we are supported. So, Jupiter is that assumption of, "I will be upheld. I will be supported. There will be help." Or there will be luck. There's, there's faith in the workings around us. With contacts from the Sun to Jupiter, uh, we may strongly question that faith. Uh, with the inconjunction from Sun to Jupiter, but it's those themes of faith in general that we're seeing. So, we want to look at the amount of wind, the kind of hot air that someone is, uh, being propelled by, and the kind of potential moral or philosophical consequences that can come from those particular contacts. Very often, the Sun Jupiter aspects in someone's chart is going to refer to the quality of the father's morality or religious or philosophical, very often moral capacity.

So, the signs that the Sun and Jupiter come into actually very important to consider when you're looking at Sun Jupiter contacts. Because if we're looking at signs that Sun Jupiter actually do well in, we can see very positive things related to the character of the origin of the parents. But if we see difficulties in signs with difficult aspects, particularly within conjunction, we can be dealing with a father figure that [Music] you know, themselves dealt with morality issues or honesty issues, confidence issues themselves. Because it's the abundance of confidence that comes from Jupiter contacts that can really get people into trouble. And confidence is where the term "confidence man" comes from. Confidence man. We see that in the opposing house of the third, and we can see that potential in the ninth, that archetype of the confidence man. So, you see that smooth double-talker, uh, in the third, and more of the "put your belief in me," like cult leaders, religious or philosophical leaders, people are selling you bigger ventures, televangelists, magicians, saying the third and the ninth. Um, so, we want to look at the potential for the kind of character that one experienced in the father figure and the kind of, yeah, politicians, that's a good one. And the kind of repercussions that we may experience ourselves, their own natal aspects.

So, let's look at the conjunction. Uh, the, the sign that the Sun and Jupiter are in matters with the conjunction. Because if we have the Sun coming into a, a sign that it isn't itself very ego-maniacally, uh, functioning through, like if the Sun is in a water sign, um, Libra, uh, [Music] um, Aquarius, it, if the Sun is in a sign where it's not readily, um, I would say, if it's more geared towards the other or towards, uh, questioning of the self, if it's not an egotistical, inherently egotistical sign, the Sun Jupiter conjunction, or the other aspects between Sun and Jupiter in general, can be less, uh, pronounced. The, the difficulties that we see with overconfidence can be less pronounced. Sometimes the morality issues that we can see, those can be equally difficult with the Sun coming into whatever sign, because we can actually be dealing with a, uh, sometimes a lack of confidence. So, we can have an, uh, inappropriate overcompensation. But yes, less potential for megalomania in certain signs. So, it's important to look at the sign because the Sun coming through more sensitive, uh, signs is going to function differently, as is Jupiter. So, the typical descriptions of Sun Jupiter aspects are not going to apply to everybody. It is going to be less pronounced. And particularly if we have Saturn involved. If we have, say, the Sun conjunct to Jupiter and Saturn, particularly if the Sun is in the middle of Jupiter or Saturn, that is going to modify the Sun Jupiter conjunction greatly. And it's going to bring in a lot of humility that typically is not going to be present. Or the Sun conjunct to Jupiter and in a trine to Saturn, or in any aspect to Saturn, is going to bring a, a humiliating influence into things, which can very much moderate the type and the degree of the wind in our sails, the confidence that can come from those Sun Jupiter contacts. So, it's really important to look at, do we have moderating or mitigating factors? Because that is going to very, very much affect the interpretation of Sun Jupiter aspects.

The conjunction for some people, uh, if it's in strong signs, the conjunction can lead to an abundance of confidence that will be moderated. If, say, this is in Cancer, Pisces, Libra, a few of the different signs where the Sun in Jupiter can not be as inflated. Um, there's a need for some kind of recognition. Particularly if we are dealing with strong signs, that can be something that we feel that we need. We need validation. We need to have our efforts noticed. And that can be a very healthy thing. I think that's a very human thing. But with the aspects to Jupiter, we just want to look at the degree to which we're driven by that. With the conjunction, there's actually a pretty good, uh, pretty good philosophy about living life to its fullest. That's not all about materialism, more or less for materialism or material or self-fulfillment coming in with the other aspects. Particularly with the opposition, we can see that be a, a motivating factor. With the conjunction, it's more, "I want to enjoy my creative life. I want to be able to go where I want. I want to be able to live a life where I can study and travel and and setting up a life that's more about independent living, uh, driven to, to, you know, travel and and do activities, jobs, live a lifestyle that can afford some amount of difference. We don't want to do the same thing all of the time." And it's not unusual for people with the conjunction between the Sun and Jupiter to have a few different skills. Um, it's not something where we can't specialize. We can, but it's, uh, it's considered a safer life if we have more than one tool in our toolbox. Because if we can switch between things that we have to offer, switch between skill sets, it offers more freedom. So, we could live in more places, be more responsive to different types of opportunities.

There is a lot of good humor in people with all of the aspects between Sun and Jupiter. The conjunction, this is awesome. Everybody loves to be around someone with a Sun Jupiter conjunction because they are very funny. The quintile as well, I mean, [Music] wacky. And it makes us feel good to get to feel that we get to laugh. We get to enjoy ourselves. So, when someone else is enjoying themselves, it's infectious. And this is more of an infectious kind of personality. All of the aspects between Sun and Jupiter are going to land some of that. It is very authentic with the conjunction. With the opposition, sometimes we can wrestle with authenticity. We'll get to that. But the conjunction, we're actually very, uh, childlike in our humor and our entertainment factor. Because with conjunctions, we don't think about it. There's not much that's, uh, contrived with conjunctions because we don't even know we're doing things. With the conjunction, it's so unconscious. Oftentimes, we don't know that that's a fact about us. Whatever factors are conjunct, we don't know that that is a fact until somebody tells us, or until in retrospect, we're able to look back and see why we kept getting the same result, why we kept getting the same consequence. So, there is an enthusiasm with the conjunction that is contagious. And they're a lot of fun to be around. There's an inherent positivity. They do believe that they can accomplish what they set out on. There's a pretty good amount of positive action mixed with the mixed with the idea of what we want to become. So, when we have what we want to become mixed with the ability to grab, to, to create positive action, that's a driver towards our goal. That's like the hot air balloon that can just take off. So, we tend to assume success rather than failure. We tend to assume it's going to work out rather than it's not. Um, not the case with the inconjunction, but that's pretty much the thinking with all of the aspects between the Sun and, um, Jupiter.

With the conjunction, there is a lack of moderation. But there isn't a, um, there isn't a blowing up the bubble to where it is unmanageable. We can blow ourselves up with some of the other aspects, particularly the inconjunction or opposition from Sun to Jupiter. But we tend to blow ourselves up just to capacity with the conjunction. So, people do have a large appetite for food, wealth, the good things in life. Their idea of, um, what it is to live abundantly. There is an appetite for those things. But there is also a respect for what, uh, for for nature itself, for our own nature. Uh, it is not the, the most selfish conjunction that we can have. And I would actually think that it would be, but it doesn't seem to show up that way because of the generosity that Jupiter brings. Jupiter is always going to be something that's about sharing. And so there is this lovely generosity. There is the love of the good life. But there's also mixed with that, "If it's good for me, it's good for you. If I have it, well, you can have some too." So, there is this love of [Music] the good life and of getting. But there's also at the same time this love of giving. So, it's a very good combination when it comes to, you know, "I want to live richly and I want the other people around me to live just as well." So, the kind of abundance that we gain, we give. And that gives back to us. So, we often don't even realize the kind of awesome karma that we're creating for ourselves with the conjunction in putting in the work, because we're willing to do that with the conjunction. And putting in the work to become something, to create something, to have an offering. And then in giving that offering freely, we get that offering back. And we get that back through love, social support, finding social avenues of support, programs, grants, help, benefactors who are willing to give back to us. There is an inner richness that we can feel is present with the conjunction because we don't even understand that we're creating this wealth constantly with our own outpouring of generosity. So, it's like we're our own insurance policy for real with the conjunction. And the reason we can have that assurance is because our own actions are creating the conditions for us to have that continued support. So, um, we don't, we don't get the memo with conjunctions. But this is okay. That we don't get the memo in this case. This is one of those memos that most people are not going to suffer from not getting. Because that lack of awareness of, you know, "My own generosity is creating these good things." I mean, nobody's going to cry about that, right? Um, but again, it, because it's a conjunction, there is an inherent lack of awareness. They, they don't know this about themselves.

So, let's look at the sextile. Shall we? Do you have a question, Stacy? We were talking earlier about, uh, if the Sun comes through certain signs, it's an issue. And water signs, um, are mitigating factors. What about Scorpio? Like, how does the Sun do in Scorpio? And if, uh, it's conjunct in Jupiter and the Sun are conjunct in that? Well, it's naturally, uh, yeah, a water sign to the Sun. Um, so there's a, a wrestling with showing ourselves in Scorpio because we want to be covert. So, the, um, the ability to shine, we could say, is hampered because it's coming through water. So, the Sun coming through water is like, um, a flashlight that you're shining through water. And we can see, you know, we can look down, we can see that bit of, of light, but it is something that is obscured by the diffusion. It's diffused because it's coming through the element of water. So, that's always how the Sun functions in a water sign. It's just more diffused by the feeling nature. So, the, um, the Sun is still wrestling with the, uh, the exposure of our creativity in Scorpio, the, the authentic, um, expression of that. Because it, our creativity, how we are expressing ourselves in Scorpio, may actually be in service to power, or personal power, or keeping things or people where we want them. So, it's often the uncovering of the authentic personal expression underneath that ego of need for power. That's the trick in Scorpio. Is what am I? What is my authentic show beneath all of these other ideas of myself? So, um, I think any planet in Scorpio is more complex than other places. And Pisces as well, Cancer. But it's like preceding complexity when we go from Cancer to Scorpio to Pisces. Um, so there's still a, a, um, I need to uncover who we are with the Sun in Scorpio. But yeah, we could see some of the morality issues or the megalomania issues perhaps more in intensified in that water sign, more so than in the other water signs, depending on how one is understanding their own motivations. If we don't understand our motivations with planets in Scorpio, we can actually be quite dangerous to ourselves and others. So, this could be a very difficult combination. Yeah.

Let me pick up a couple of other comments here. Oh, interesting. Um, yeah. Can you covert narcissistic behavior? And Scorpio may be more the style. So, let's look at the sextile between the Sun and Jupiter. More active than the trine. The trine is actually famously lazy. The sextile, we, we are more active with acting on our opportunities, our dreams. Um, there's more excitement that we can be driven by with the sextile. There is actually a pretty good amount of, um, confidence in what we're doing without it being too overblown. That doesn't mean that we can't run into instances where we overdo it or we over, overblow it. We can, we can have those times. Um, but usually, there's a pretty good estimation when it comes to the optimism and the abilities, the hopes, and what we actually can deliver. So, um, we're pretty reliable when it comes to what we're promising and what we can actually do. It is a pretty friendly sextile to have. The good humor that comes with the conjunction is still there with the sextile. Maybe not quite as body. Could be very body humor with the Sun [Music] Jupiter conjunction. The inconjunction too. I mean, the humor with them is just off the wall awesome, but quirky and weird, which I completely appreciate. So, we are going towards our goals and our opportunities with quite a lot of, of, um, enthusiasm, positive thinking with the sextile. And it makes things work out. So, there's more success with the sextile, probably then, yeah, maybe with the quintile too, than with most of the other aspects between the Sun and Jupiter. Because of that good measure between what my resources are and what I can do in the time and space that I have, and what I want. What is the dream? Because Jupiter is our hopes and our dreams and our, our vision for our life. Um, and that's what keeps us going. Is that idea of, "Things could be better. I might be able to reach that pot of gold." And we're pretty good at estimating the length of the rainbow with the sextile. So, we can have really good results when it comes to using our talents, recognizing opportunities. And with the sextile, they may not be dramatic opportunities. But it's how we use them. We make the most out of something small. Like, um, now, my dad had a friend in the 80s who got just enough money to get a couple of, like, Coke or Pepsi vending machines. And then he was able to take the money and get another one from what he'd earned. And he was able to get another one. And eventually, he actually became quite wealthy. And he just started out with two vending machines. It's those kinds of little things with the sextile that it, it, it's presenting us with something that's a little more. And the way that we use our talents, we can build on that. So, the gratification that comes with the sextile may not be instantaneous. But it doesn't take forever. And we may see those results grow, you know, fairly quickly. And they may be modest more at first, but they can definitely end up being something that is bringing us added wealth and meaning and happiness to our life. But it's more sustainable. It's not something that's a fly-by-night thing. There's, there's more security in it because of how we have applied ourselves and how we know ourselves.

Should we talk about the trine? Oh, the square. Square, hold on. Let's, no, let's talk about the trine first, since that's a very simple one. Okay. Um, trines don't drive us to accomplish things. They're more about using something, you know, behaviors or factors, motivations, using those in a way, we're combining those in a way where we have just an easy amount of success. There's an easy outcome. So, there isn't a real drive for recognition with the trine, like there is with the other aspects. We're not so much concerned with, uh, being recognized for what we've done, or for the kind of entertainment that we brought to the world, or our offering. It's way more, "Let's go with the flow with whatever kind of party may be happening today." So, it's not as ego-driven as some of the other aspects between the Sun and Jupiter are. A lot of people don't feel that they need to act on their ambitions, uh, with the trine between the Sun and Jupiter. It's more, you know, "I'll accept what comes and I'll be happy with that." And that can actually be a wonderful attitude about life. Um, what we get into is if we have extremely easy charts and then we have trines between Sun and Jupiter, we, uh, enough thinking that could go more to the extreme of, "Yeah, I know that, you know, everybody works, and I don't really see a lot of, you know, meaning in that. I'm just kind of kind of bummed around and not work and live off of whatever cans I can collect." And, and I mean, for some people with aspects like this, that's actually a very happy life. That that actually is not a bad way for some people to survive. But we can see that kind of thinking with the trine between Sun and Jupiter, that, you know, "Whatever comes, whatever goes, it's, it's all good." And, you know, we could feel like really sorry for somebody like that, that we see sleeping in the park and living off whatever cans they collect. But it could be perfectly happy. So, there's actually a character in, um, I think it was Cannery Row, John Steinbeck's Cannery Row. I can't remember the character exactly, but there's a, uh, a quote in there that I, of course, can't remember exactly. It just occurred to me. This character, but he was a, just a homeless person that did, you know, odd jobs and slept where he could find. And had other, they, I think they even referred to them as hobos in those books because it was written in the 30s or during the Depression. You know, didn't have steady work. But, uh, there's a quote in the book to the effect of, "And men like this must be the happiest men in the world." The trine just has us enjoying whatever we might eat that day, whatever life might bring, whatever we might get to have come our way. So, for some people, that that ease of living, I mean, that can be a wonderful attitude to have. And for other people, it can contribute to a lack of development of the capacity to, uh, to support ourselves or to sustain ourselves. You just have to look at it in the light of everything in the natal chart. For some people, it can be a detriment to the development of character. For other people, not. It's, you know, maybe not a bad thing to, uh, have kind of a, you know, easy come, easy-go kind of attitude. So, we just have to look at it in its entirety.

Ah, the, uh, let's see, let's see the square. Should we look at the square here? Oh, I should have organized better, of course. All right. So, similar to the opposition, the square, how it functions. Let's see if I can find a little book holder here. Yes. Uh, it's similar to the opposition, the square between the Sun and Jupiter, because there's a overestimation that can come with the square or the opposition. The self-control, um, is challenged with the difficult aspects. So, we aren't, uh, very teachable with the square between the Sun and Jupiter, or the opposition between the Sun and Jupiter. We tend to act without reserve and without moderation, and often without careful consideration. And so, again, the signs are going to make a difference. That could be less so if the Sun is in certain signs, or Jupiter is in certain signs where Jupiter is more toned down. If it's in signs where both or one of these is toned up, that is going to be something that will contribute to the jumping off of the diving board without considering if there's any water in the pool. So, our overestimation of what life is going to provide for us, or who's going to be there for us, or unseen angels that will come out of the woodwork and help us, that can really get us into trouble with the hard aspects between the Sun and Jupiter. Sometimes we will have those, uh, that possibility of help. Sometimes that will happen, but it won't be every time. And so, we have to plan accordingly. So, we have to be careful about how we are presenting ourselves with the square, or with the opposition. We have to be careful of how we are creating confidence in us, because sometimes that may not be completely honest. Uh, yeah, the square or the opposition can enliven the personality. It can be more of a louder presentation, a very extroverted presentation of the self. That can be more muted in certain signs, however, because, uh, we'll have, you know, less of a, you know, of a loud presentation in say, Libra, or Pisces, or Cancer. Certain signs less apt to advertise ourselves. But, you know, in the fire signs and in the air signs, and some of the earth signs, we can sometimes wrestle with, uh, more of an ostentatious kind of, uh, initial presentation of ourselves that, uh, can sometimes be a bit obnoxious. Some people, not everybody with the square or the opposition is going to present themselves with more of a larger-than-life, you know, "I'm Bette Midler, I'm taking up all the air in the room" kind of thing. But some people can come off that way. But yeah, in certain combinations, it's going to be louder than others. So, we have to be careful of bending the truth with the difficult aspects between the Sun and Jupiter. Not so much with the conjunction. We tend to be more innocently honest with the conjunction, even have sometimes like verbal diarrhea that we don't even understand is occurring. Um, the sextile as well, we don't tend to, uh, wrestle with morality issues, or even the trine. But with the square, with the opposition, uh, sometimes within conjunction, we can get into gray areas where we can maybe sell things a little bit better than they actually are. And that is not going to come back to us in good ways. Because with the conjunction, see, we are, with the sextile, the triangle, kind of just making good karma for ourselves by how we are distributing our enthusiasm, how we're helping, how we are sharing the quality of our generosity, that's coming back to us in very, very good consequential ways. But with the difficult aspects, what we're creating, what's coming back to us is a reputation, or social issues, or engaging with people in ways where we may not be getting the kinds of help, or consequences, or feedback, or generosity that we want. We're getting back what we've put out. So, we have to be very careful about our honesty with the difficult aspects between the Sun and Jupiter. With the square, in the opposition, the quintile as well. So, we can be sometimes a bit of a wheel or dealer, a bit of a horse salesman with the quintile between the Sun and Jupiter as well. We can't push our luck. That's what we're doing with the difficult aspects. We're pushing our luck, pushing the envelope, maybe putting a little bit of glam around to things that isn't setting us up for good social consequences. So, we're going to be more prone to that kind of behavior with the Sun in certain signs and Jupiter as well, and less prone with it in other signs. But, and the closer the aspect is, the more of a theme it's gonna be. But, um, we have to be careful about our self-indulgence with the difficult aspects between the Sun and Jupiter. Because our self-indulgence will come back to us. And it will come back to us negatively if we aren't being really honest with ourselves about what we are trying to get out of other people, or what we are trying to create. The, um, there is an innocence that comes with the kind of consequences we create with the good aspects, the easy aspects, the conjunction, the sextile, the trines. There's a real innocence. There's a half-innocence with the inconjunction that it just really makes it effortless to enjoy the kind of social abundance that can actually be a source of difficulty with the difficult aspects. And that innocence comes from just admitting that, "Hey, you know what? I like the good things in life, and I want the good things in life, and I want other people to have the good things in life too." And it's the selfishness with the hard aspects that creates the difficulty. And sometimes it's the lying to ourselves that, you know, maybe we have the Sun in say, Pisces. "Oh, I'm just such a saint. I don't want things." But then there's another side of ourselves, the Jupiter, that's like, "You know what? I want stuff. And I want to have a comfortable life. And I want to live in a nice house. And I like personal property." And, and so then we run into a morality issue because maybe we're not allowed, allowing ourselves to identify as somebody that, you know, likes to have nice things. But that's a fact. That's a fact about ourselves. And so, we have to deal with the facts when we have the difficult, uh, aspects. So, we have to be really honest with ourselves about ourselves, so we don't get into those issues of creating negative karma for ourselves by how we're interacting with others in the world.

Shh, Stacy, deaf question. I was just gonna make a comment. Um, we, like my friends and I know someone who has that aspect, and you are really nailing it with that, the square. I swear. Yeah, but we were always wondering, does she realize she's a snake oil salesman, or is this just like delusions of grandeur? So, I think sometimes there's a recognition of it, especially if someone gets older. But it's like, is some people are able to, I don't know, I have an echo. You turn off your iPhone echo. But some people are able to, uh, get around that by not completely acknowledging what they're doing, not completely acknowledging to themselves what they're creating. It's like, because, because it's the idea of, "I want this, and I want it now." And the impulsivity that comes from that, the lack of the consideration of what the consequences are going to be, how it's going to affect other people socially, what other people's needs are. Is every infantile selfish impulsivity? You know, "I want this at whatever the cost." And it's, it creates morality issues. Yeah. Yeah, I think you're nailing it. I see that impulsivity in her for sure. And the immaturity, if you will. Yeah. So, it's, it's always going to be the self-control that turns the square, the opposition, the inconjunction into something positive. Because it can become something where people become so aware of their own impulsive action, their own pension for self-indulgence, they become so self-aware, they become so aware of who and how they are and what they're made up of, that they actually are able to turn the square or the opposition to something that's more like a conjunction. Because they aren't having that negative indulgence, self-indulgence be something that's the primary motivating factor. I mean, they can know that that's their primary way. "Oh, I know that about me. Okay, now I'm going to act in a way that's counter to that, or that controls that initial impulse that I know is within myself." So, there's a self-control that people develop, the ability to moderate that own instinct for self-gratification.

Okay. So, um, with this person, I never really pushed back on her grandiose thought, or I never said anything Saturn to her, or grounding it. It was like, reality check, just kind of backed off. Which I guess was for karma. But do you think these people respond well to like, people pointing out, in short, that they're lying, or maybe misrepresented? No. No. Okay. No, no. There's a resistance to that. Like, "No, God, no. I'm actually the most moral one in the room." Particularly with the opposition. But with the, the square, we can, we can wrestle with that. Yeah. Okay. I kind of sensed that was what was going to happen. So, I just didn't, yeah, push back. And it, it sacked away. And it's a rough one. And, okay, you know, if we have difficult signs, then it's going to be rougher. You know, again, easier if we have the Sun light coming through Libra, or Pisces, or something. So, this girl actually had it in Pisces. Sun in Pisces. Um, it was Pisces in the fifth house, I want to say. But, oh, interesting. So, the fifth house of the Sun. [Music] Um, Katie, oh, we have a couple people who have the, the square, but in the more subdued signs. Interesting. Yeah. Uh, a couple people. Interesting. Yeah. Even, you know, Leo's Sun in the seventh, we're gonna have the Sun coming into a house where we can sometimes deal with, uh, ego difficulties. So, that can be a mitigating factor as well. That can make it more, um, possible that we'll be able to achieve that self-awareness and to have maybe less difficulties with the social factors. Katie, oh, yeah, I kind of wanted to, like, um, uh, qualify what I said because, like, I was commenting on, uh, a family member, actually, who's, yeah, the latest son. That's right. You have the Libra. Yeah. Yeah. Um, but, yeah, like, I'm obviously, like, with everything, this does not, I have, I have much saltiness, bitterness, and animosity towards this one person. But it's not about, like, this one aspect. It's about this person. Um, and, yeah, like, those, I'm thinking of it. That's interesting. But it's like a disconnection with the higher morality and the self. Because like, my experience of them is just an outrageously selfish and unaware person. However, I do see how, like, morality is, is a concern there. And like, there's a theme. And like, he does care very much, I think, about higher things, high being high-minded. But it just ends up being like, uh, he's awful. There's multiple reasons. But, yeah, like, I hope, I don't know, like, I'm, I don't know. I can't say anything nice about him right now, I guess. But, okay. [Laughter] Sometimes that happens. Um, that's it. Did we have another question or something that I missed? No. Okay. Uh, so let's talk about the opposition. Um, this is one of the aspects that can also help us dealing with morality issues or in overestimation of what we can do or what we should have, particularly if we have a difficult aspect from Pluto, or if Jupiter and Pluto are both in aspect to the Sun, uh, a difficult aspect from Jupiter to Pluto, and Jupiter being an aspect to the Sun. Planets coming through the eighth house with an opposition to Jupiter, it can be more difficult to be completely aware of how we're functioning in reality, the kind of karma that we're really making for ourselves. The self-indulgence can be, um, something we really don't take responsibility for with the opposition between Sun and Jupiter. Can be very difficult to become totally aware of how our selfishness is actually operating because it seems so right, it seems so correct to take what we want. You see many, many, many religious leaders, very, very rich. Um, [Music] uh, philosophical leaders, religious leaders that have the opposition between the Sun opposite to Jupiter. It is usually going to be Pluto involved too. Cult leaders love to have the opposition between the Sun opposite to Jupiter as well. So, there's, uh, a difficulty in taking responsibility for what we create with the opposition. Naomi, actually, I wouldn't have guessed that. That's funny. You must have some mitigating factors with that square. I actually do have a lot of mitigating factors. And the Jupiter is actually square to my ascendant as well. Oh, so that's cute too. It can be, that can be fun. Jupiter squared again, it can't be very fun, but that can also be one where you can laugh pretty loud sometimes. Um, so with the, yeah, the opposition, there's a demand for what we want. And sometimes some people, if they have greed enhanced in their chart, they can take what they want without reserve. These are greedy aspects. Some aspects between Jupiter. And sometimes that greed is justified in our own minds. We can get in trouble with the law with the inconjunction or the opposition from Sun to Jupiter. Sometimes with the square, it's less likely, but we can find ourselves in hot water because of our lack of consideration with some of the aspects between Sun and Jupiter, our lack of consideration about consequences and about what we actually deserve. Because it can be one of those situations where, like, we can show up to a party and there's only one cake, and it's our favorite kind of cake. And say we have a really difficult aspect between Sun and Jupiter, we can have, you know, such a lust for that cake, such a desire for that cake, that in our own mind, we can totally justify taking two pieces, even though we know that it's a party of 20, there's only 20 pieces. You know, "I like it that much. My appetite is that big. I, I like sugar that much." So, we'll just take more than we deserve. But what's the consequence of that? Someone else didn't get their fair share. Unlike the conjunction, see, remember how the conjunction works where we get as much back as we're giving? This is the idea that we go to a party, we see there's 20 guests, there's 20 pieces of cake, it's our favorite cake. But the thinking is more, "Oh, I love that cake. It's my favorite kind of cake. I'm glad everybody's going to get to taste this because everybody's going to get to fit to know what this awesomeness is like." Different thinking from with the opposition or with the square. That's funny, Naomi. Different thinking with the opposition or the square. We can be thinking more that, "I deserve more." And so that self-indulgence creates problems because we're going to be known as somebody who can't be trusted, who steals cake, who is not generous. There's gonna be something that is inauthentic about us that is discovered. So, we take more than we deserve. We're a cake dealer when we have the difficult aspects. And we have to be careful. And if we know that about ourselves, we can always carry a cinnamon roll in our purse. See how we provide for ourselves? We always have what we need. Or we keep a cupcake in our dashboard. We always provide what we need. We don't expect other people to provide that for us. So, there's a, there's a paying our own way that happens when we develop the, the character that can sometimes suffer between the asp, the difficult aspects between the Sun and Jupiter. We bake our own goods. And that's, that goes a long way towards not just providing for ourselves, but also having access for other people. That's why people love us with the good aspects, is because we have more to share. But with the difficult aspects, we're taking, we're taking more than our fair share.

Let's look at the inconjunction. Are we ready for that? There is that. Okay. So, the inconjunction is very interesting because we can get into, we can get into social issues, or sometimes creating a negative reputation for ourselves because we don't feel like we have enough, or we are enough. So, it's an overcompensation that can put us at risk for feeling more personally impoverished, not being paid enough, not experiencing the kind of abundance that we deserve. People usually don't make as much as they should with the inconjunction. The morality issues that came with the exposure to the father figure were usually pretty interesting. With the inconjunction, uh, sometimes he could have been quite the snake oil salesman himself, or had, uh, issues with honesty, or with forthrightness, or with, um, confidence issues himself. So, with the inconjunction, especially the signs are going to matter. If we have the Sun coming into, actually, the water signs, um, Libra, the, the signs where the Sun actually doesn't do well, that can increase the difficulties greatly with the inconjunction when it comes to the father being shown as the source of really exposure to a somewhat opportunistic or immoral figure in our life. So, um, we have to work very, very hard for the skill that we want to acquire with the inconjunctions. Very different from the conjunction where it feels like, "This actually is pretty easy for me. It's coming easy for me. There's a lot of support here. There's a lot of what I need." Like, uh, my daughter who has the conjunction of the Sun in Jupiter, it's, you know, the pursuit of her education has actually been very easy for her. She found the school that she wanted to go to right across town. She was able to find a car that was very, very suitable to get her there. And we could easily afford it for her. The, uh, schedule is working so she can go to school during the day and then she does food deliveries at night. And she's able to pay for a lot of her education herself. It's just coming easy to her. With the inconjunction, it's a very different experience. It would be more like the school that she wants to go to, say, is 45 minutes away. The car that we were able to find was not suitable. The program is something that, you know, is really, really challenging to her skill set. It would be the experience of, "We have to apply ourselves and keep going even though we have all of these annoyances and seeming roadblocks that are happening." So, with the inconjunction, we can get there, but it takes quite a bit of perseverance. But once we get there, we do feel like, "I deserve this. Look what I had to go through, and I deserve to get everything that is coming to me."

So it's kind of a weird karma that we're overcoming with the father because things came easy. He got things in a way that was more for free or in other people's dime, but that's not the way that we're doing things or that we are functioning in our own life.

There's this idea that I am actually paying, and I'm paying more dearly, and it's gonna mean something to me, and I'm gonna deserve everything that I get. So people actually need to look at why this idea of "everything has to come hard" is there, and they can free themselves a lot of times from that feeling of "I have to pay for everything dearly and more so than other people, and it will cost me more."

Once they really free themselves from the fathers, from from the the father's um experience, really by by understanding that they actually don't have to pay for that, they actually are not responsible for that at all. They don't need to uh contribute to the past at all. They're not indebted to anything. Um, they can free themselves for that. For other people, they free themselves by working themselves to the bone to the point of sickness until they feel like, "Okay, I finally paid this off." But I don't have to do that.

If we can figure out why it is we are driving ourselves so hard, because there is that feeling of guilt, and I don't want to be like the father. I am not going to be like that. I am not going to be somebody that takes advantage. So they actually are taken advantage of. It's very easy to take advantage of people's sun and conjunct to Jupiter. We just have to make them feel bad. We just have to push some more work onto their plate, and they'll take it because they feel like they are having to make up for something. We will take on other people's duties, responsibilities, problems, karma, because the dad was not like that.

So we have to learn about moderation with all of the aspects between uh the sun and Jupiter. Probably not the sextile, maybe just a tiny bit, a tiny bit of not moderation with the sextile, but we don't tend to get out of trouble there. Um, we can overeat and over-experience with the trine as well. We can over-order. [Music] Suffer from, you know, carb poisoning with the the trine. But, um, it isn't something that, you know, shows up really negatively unless we're not working anymore because we're just enjoying the flow of life.

Um, so the in conjunction, we do have to be very careful about the way that we actually deny ourselves so that we can indulge other people. That can be really dangerous for our health, and we don't tend to believe that we are giving enough or doing enough in a relationship, and we tend to overcompensate when we feel that somebody isn't completely approving or appreciating us, and then, you know, redouble our efforts to be even better. So we're actually morally betraying ourselves with the in conjunction in service to other people and to giving to them. We ourselves are suffering, and we need to not be doing that because we are not responsible for making up for the immoralities of the past and of the primary figures that we were raised by.

So, uh, we need to give ourselves a break. We need to charge what we're worth. We need to not take on other people's problems or work or duty because it isn't going to make them appreciate us or like us more or pay us more. It will be quite the opposite. It will create a disrespect and an expectation that we can be used. So don't set yourself up for them. I think we had another comment here. [Music] Oh, interesting comment from iPhone. Uh, Naomi, I just remembered a question about Jupiter when it's out of bounds. Something to do with being in the late degrees of a sign. Um, no, not necessarily the late degrees of a sign, just out of the boundaries of the um, the declination of the sun.

So, okay, when we have an out of bounds planet, it is acting outside of the, and we're going to talk about this more in the advanced courses after this module. Um, okay, it is acting unruly. So look at it like a, um, a group of nine children, nine two-year-olds, and they are all within a playpen. And then we have one two-year-old that's outside the playpen. He could do anything. He's climbing the walls, he's getting into crayons, he's taking his diaper off and running around naked. There's a, there's an unruliness to a planet that is out of bounds. So it has more of a uncontrollable, sometimes infantile nature. We'll talk about that more as we go along. But some planets are not as consequential as others. How do you know if something's out of bounds? You have to look at the declination of the [Music] the sun, and then see what is beyond that. I, I don't have time to go into it today, but it is a, Tanya, did you have a suggestion? Declination is that where you found parallels and additional info? So yes, you're looking at, um, hold on, maybe I can find a better, a more succinct way of putting it. Hold on here. Where is my? Give me a second. Oh, here we go. Okay, now I don't even have a better explanation for that in my dictionary. Um, I think, all right, we're just gonna have to come back to that because I have to move on. But it's, uh, it's a function of looking at the particular of the declining declination of the sun, the boundaries of the sun for a particular day timeframe, and then seeing what planets are out of that, uh, space that the sun is occupying for a certain day. All right. Oh, no, I think I did cover the quintile a little bit. Um, similar to the trine, and that there's an assumption of things are going to work out, assumption of help, assumption of uh, aid. And oftentimes, people with sun Jupiter aspects of all kinds will have those instances of help, particularly with the good aspects, because of how we act, that is what we receive.

So with all the aspects between sun and Jupiter, we're looking at how is our generosity being reflected back to us? Sometimes that's not going to be a good outcome with the difficult aspects if our generosity is actually selfishness. Uh, that's what we'll get back is poverty or selfishness. So, um, Jupiter's are happiness, a lot to do with our happiness, happiness, and the laughter and the enjoyment that we'll have in our life. And we want to make sure that we're getting to share that warmth and that fire and that happiness with the people around us. It's not something that we're taking just for ourselves, and the people around us also don't get to enjoy themselves. So we want to become an abundant baker rather than a cake stealer. That's basically what it comes from, comes down to. Offer up what it is that our resourcefulness can create, and that comes back to us. And it comes back to us in laughter, it comes back to us in relationships, it comes back to us and enjoyment, it comes back to us in education and opportunities that other people are happy to extend to us. So, um, [Music] wouldn't take responsibility for our own gluttony with, uh, all aspects to Jupiter. Make sure that the way that we are trying to indulge ourselves isn't negatively impacting the people around us, because Jupiter is a party that we all go to. If we're all having fun at that party, it's gonna be a much better party. So any questions? Okay. All right. So let's, uh, Stacy, did you have something? Yeah, I think you covered this with one of the aspects, but, um, do people with Jupiter contacting the sun have to watch their weight? Does it, or how much sweets they eat? Yeah, the trine, the, uh, not so much with the sextile. The conjunction, yes. Oh, the opposition, the in conjunction, we can go back and forth. There can be an indulgence, and then, oh no, God, I can't do that. I, I now have to sacrifice. So you go back and forth and back and forth. You know, I ate a pint of ice cream, now I can't eat any for two weeks. Now I haven't eaten any for two weeks, I deserve a pint of ice cream. Okay, I think, um, with the opposition, it's more of a consistent overindulgence. So, and with the conjunction as well. Okay. So, um, do they also, do they have to worry about overindulging in like strong drink or those things as well? Yes, anything that is going to contribute to partying or to laughter, relaxation, social enjoyment. Yes, food, drink, wine, possibly shopping. I'm like thinking of everything that has to do with Christmas right now. Or yes, we enjoy the good things in life. Okay, Jupiter, yes, absolutely. We, we like to indulge, and indulging is a part of what makes life worth living. But we get to indulge when we have a good amount of Saturn. If we don't have the self-control, if we don't have self-discipline, then life is just one indulgence. It's, it's not something that we actually get to enjoy. It's something that can make us unhealthy. It can, um, it's just, it gets boring. It, it actually, uh, rots our character. But part of the enjoyment in life is having enough self-control and responsibility to be able to eat and experience and drink what we want in the appropriate amounts at the appropriate time. That's a part of what makes us enjoy life is looking forward to those moments. I mean, don't we all look forward to getting to eat more cake sometimes, getting to sleep in longer, getting to have one more pet, getting to go on vacation and stay one more day? These are all the things that make us look forward to living. But we can only do that if we are having some amount of self-control. So I actually saw a, uh, interview with, was a while ago, an interview, yeah, I should have actually have referred to this right from the beginning, an interview with Paul Stanley from Kiss, and he's an older, older gentleman these days, and he, you know, came from a very party lifestyle, you know, through the 70s and the 80s. And he was very much talking about the same concept that life is about getting to indulge every once in a while, and you can only do that if you're living healthily most of the time, or else you can't enjoy it. It's just something that's destructive to you. So Jupiter can be destructive to us if we don't have moderation. Yes, Katie, everything in moderation. If we don't have that moderation, then Jupiter is actually something that can rot our character rather than contribute to our character and contribute to the character of the people around us. So, yeah, it could be too much of a good thing. I think it's Oscar Wilde that says, "Moderation in all things, including moderation." Yes, there's that too. Yeah. So like with a lot of Jupiter, I could see it like it's not necessarily moderation, but it's like being excessive, but just not all the time, if you're correctly. Yeah, I agree with that.
