Could you introduce yourself and tell us what's your current job?

Hi, my name is Priscilla. I'm working in Singapore. So, currently I working in the retail line is pet lover center. It is uh more for animal related pet store.

Okay. How long have you been doing this?

Okay. I have been working in this company about two years.

Oh, okay. Are you doing this full-time or just part-time?

I'm doing this as a full-time job.

Okay. Do you think your job is safe or for the Do you think your job is safe for the long run or are you worried about things changing? for example, the company closing down or you losing your job.

This one uh maybe part of the worry because now the whole world actually because of the some the war going on then there's like a lot of drug uh how to say it's a war economy issue thing. It's not just in whether Singapore or Malaysia. So, but uh I just try my best to work as much as best as I can to secure my job.

Okay. Uh beside the basic pay, do things like EPF or bonuses really makes you feel more satisfied with your job?

Okay. Basically uh in Singapore is called as CPF. It's something like EPF also. So each month the company besides the deduction of the amount into the CPF based on salary company also will partially uh put in some CPF together. So um this one is part of because I'm a Singapore permanent resident so I have the CPF. So besides that um because uh in retail line the basic salary so uh we have we based on the commission also. So like we will help to as a retail assistant work currently. So I also help to promote the product and the services that provided by this uh pet lover center.

Okay. Okay. Do you feel you need to keep learning new skills so you don't get left behind?

Um basically this uh majority of the company in Singapore they have a keep going uh like on job training or even they can send the staff to the training like for example this company basically every month we have about two times we need to go to the headquarter to attend their training to learn more on the product knowledge and to improve our service also.

Oh, okay. What are your biggest challenges in balancing work and personal life? How do you handle them? For example, do you still have to answer message or email after work?

Time for yourself.

Um, basically like during my rest day or off day. So sometime I also receive message or sometimes a call from my colleague but sometimes they have some inquiry from the job thing so they ask me for help um but mostly it's only when urgent thing if not they they don't really contact me so during off day I will more for resting and sometime maybe we'll go out meeting with my friends or off day also I will go back to Malaysia to visit my family and friends.

Okay. Are you worried that I or Robert may take over parts of your job one day or do you see it as a help?

so far be because I have been working in Singapore for many years already and I have the knowledge and experience as well as uh even though uh the learning there's a no stopping one it's always keep going because the world is changing like now the AI thing so as long as I keep improving myself I learning new knowledge and I do my best in my work so even though some of the thing is already covered by AI but I believe it still can keep going cuz like sometimes when we reply the email there's a function to the AI polish so they also help us to polish what we written in the content so this is part of the AI help us to smooth out our job also.

oh also one thing is uh previously uh when I looking for a job in Singapore cuz I'm a permanent resident. So Singapore government they have a agency to help the Singaporean and permanent resident to uh free to look for job. So we just submit our resume to them. They will advise us how to do it. So basically I also learned something new. Now it's a AI uh AI thing. So even when we submit the resume, they're using the AI tools to go through the participant. So that's how they choose their participant before they contact. So this is part of the AI that will affect how you going to do the job search also.
