Some Ahmadis get married to non-Ahmadi girls, which may result in future generations also marrying outside of the Jamaat. How can we protect ourselves from this? If you want to save your future generation and ensure they are attached to the Jamaat and the true teachings of Islam, the first thing you should do is try to increase your religious knowledge.
You need to understand what your religion is and what your preferences should be. If your preferences are solely based on worldly desires, the result may be that some boys will try to marry outside the Jamaat. However, if your preference is religion—something you affirm in your pledge, stating that you will give precedence to your faith over all worldly things—then you should seek to marry an Ahmadi girl.
The Holy Prophet (saw) has advised that individuals should not base their marriage decisions solely on external factors such as beauty, wealth, or family status. Instead, you should give preference to girls who are pious, religious-minded, and spiritually good. If boys prioritize these qualities in their potential partners, girls will also be encouraged to become pious and to increase their religious knowledge. This approach can save your progeny and future generations.
Before getting married, it is crucial to ensure that your preferences go beyond worldly desires. Consider multiple factors—your religion, your environment, and your position. Never forget about your future generation. This is why, during the Khutba of the Nikah, we recite verses that remind us to reflect on what we are sending forward for our future and how we will train our children.
If your wife is not religious-minded, or if she comes from a different religious background and holds different beliefs, your children may suffer spiritually. It is vital to understand that, even within the Jamaat, one should strive to find girls who possess good nature, piety, and a strong religious foundation. This is how we can protect our future generations.
