Film festivals, the highest form of a place where everyone gathers around and then gives someone an award. Do you remember a few years ago when I did that video with Chad Chad where I showed how with some of these if you just give them money, you win. Like if you just apply, they just you can win. That's it. That's all it it takes. Well, today's actually about a different thing from what I just said, but I'm going to release another video where we do that at some point this month. So, I I guess be on the lookout for that.
Anyways, AI Film Festival. I saw something about this from a YouTube short and I was like what a bad uh idea. That's such a bad way of spending your time just everybody gathering around spending some of their time sitting down and looking at a bunch of movies nobody made just an output not like a not like a work. Well, this one had a bunch of controversy around it. So, let's let's learn a little bit more.
Frameforward AI animated film festival is a film festival focused on original shorts. Well, they're not they're not going to be that original. Original short films that integrate AI tools in their creative or production process. So that which is fun, which is a fun thing. An article about added said modern uprising studios. Modern uprising. What? Like the machines or the the machines are like that's us, that's us. We're doing an uprising now. It's at them naming the company. And Screen Vision Media have launched this exciting AI short film initiative to cultivate, curate, showcase, and amplify exceptional animated storytelling. Could you really call it animated if no one animated it? Could you really Could you really call it that? Towered by creatives equipped with all that advanced artificial intelligence has to offer. This to me reads like like a tech company. and tech company is like can does AI can can we do AI with this? There's no passion behind any of this, you know.
So, this is important. What what do the winners what do the winners get over here? Nominees and the winner of Frame Forward will see their work featured in movie theaters. That's very remember that. Take that, put that in in a in a brain and a brain that you own. Put that in a brain that you own and remember it. And Screen Vision's front and center network in the top cities in the US. This includes a lot of locations. The winner will also receive theatrical exhibition of their short film, followed by production support from the Modern Uprising Studios to adapt and expand their winning film for immersive distribution. People love using the word immersive nowadays. What about distribution is immersive? I've had it. I've had it of the word immersive. I've had it enough. Can we have a new buzzword now? I don't think I even realized how much it's used or rather I should say overused until I started watching like defunct land videos. They always say it. They're always like, "This is immersive. This is maybe the most flaccid use of that word I've ever seen." And uh blah blah blah blah blah studiobacked entry into leading film festivals worldwide. I I I don't think so. I hope. And also I don't think that leading film festivals will accept that. But who knows? Who knows? I don't know.

So, while I will make fun every now and again of, you know, the visual stuff that pops up on the screen, know that this that me not liking this is above is is beyond just that. So, I'm literally going to watch like 2 seconds of each. The bear literally has in this like one preview they couldn't find a thing where the bear keeps the same hands. Look, bear hands. Weird human hands. Ogre hands. Let's skip to another one. Lame stupid. Don't care. Monkey playing a thing. I'll mute the music. music's probably used by like made by Sununo or whatever, you know, made in. It's a bird. It's like what the I can't find a thing. So, those are the finalists. I guess those that's the best they got. No. Oh my god. I just saw the winner. I can't believe it. So, the bear thing and the duck thing is the same thing. And that was the winner. the one that I just straight off the gate looked the most [ __ ] to me. Looked the most like obviously like AI. Like the most obviously like a relative sends it to you and they're like, "Isn't this cool? I just made Guardians of the Galaxy." And I'm like, "You didn't do that. You didn't do that. You didn't just make Guardians of the Galaxy." Like in that movie, they have like sets that people spent like a lot of time making and whatever. And like people built stuff and like there was like creative intention be behind every single thing and like pres kneel down to to paint a thing, you know? You can make the hands even be the same from thing to thing from one shot to another shot. Different hands all of the sudden. How is that the winner?
And now I can see the whole film. I That's so fun. I don't really want to give this too much like time off my day. Let's watch a few seconds just to see what what the winner is. And this is what we're getting at. basically what everyone ended up being subjected to. This went into so many theaters. Fart music. Okay. This is so This is so repulsive. What's the movie? It's half of this. There's nothing. What do any of these shots mean? What's the intent behind any of these shots? I feel nothing when I look at this. Why is he looking out of the window in that way? But then we have this music. Him looking out the window maybe shows like I don't knowing longing or whatever, but the music it's like >> we're so cool. We're in space. >> Is there a story at any point? Oh my god. So, a cop comes in. The hand thing is ridiculous. The suit stays the same, but the hands don't. Okay. And he's like paying him. And then there's no fuel. This is [ __ ] hideous. I thought this would be more competent in a a bit like in the sense of like there would be like a story or something a little bit. Now he's paying now he's paying him off. Is this like about how we all get by taxes, man? Is that what this is about? I think they ate the chicken. I think they murdered the chicken. That's the best. This was the best one. What did I just see? A bear and his assistant platypus travel. It's a It's a platypus. Okay. Sorry, animal people. I don't really care that I got it wrong, though. A bear and his platypus travel through the galaxy in a spaceship that resembles a flying dumpster. Their lack of hygiene makes them easy targets for a series of corrupt officials. Why the lack of hygiene? Like, what does that mean? Or why do they why can't they just clean up? I'm asking too many questions. Police officer wants a bribe. Eco inspector gives fines. Quarantine officer raids their fridge. Bankrupt and starving. They got to eat the turkey. The film concludes with the platypus stalking the fridge and the pair enjoying a roast dinner, leaving a dark implication that the delivery courier itself became the main course of this. Thanksgiving Day. You cannot even imagine how dark and twisted my mind is. You can't even come up with the same sort of ending for a movie. They eat the turkey. The turkey has anthropomorphic qualities. And they ate the turkey cuz their place was [ __ ] disgusting. It's repulsive. None of the shots mean anything. Nothing means anything cuz it's all like, "Hey AI, can you get me this? Oh, can you now get me a shot that's a bit closer of the hands?" Oh, it didn't look anything like his hands. Ah, whatever. As if we're ducks being turned into into fuagra or whatever. Now, everyone going to theaters needs to just be like fed thising thing.
Let's see the reasons for choosing the film. Talking about film, I Kickstarter is going pretty well. We got a bunch of new things on the Pine Gallery. I'm a huge fan of all the drawings I got to do this time. this dog, me and a guy, baby from a racer hat, dragon in space, this cool character. There's also a tier where I'm handdrawn on a postcard and then it gets sent to you. That's pretty cool. Anyways, let's see why people picked this film. People are like struggling to get movies made, but this Let's see why this one and and is shown in front of people. Neil Paris from uh Google's 100 Zer noted Thanksgiving Day is an imaginative funny short. It's not it's not any of those things. showcasing AI's ability to unlock imagination for animated storytelling. Thanksgiving Day is a master class. Masterass. Thanksgiving Day is a master class in original storytelling. Is it now? Is it a masterclass in original storytelling? Two animals on a dirty ship and then and then someone's asking them to pay taxes. That's the story. And then they got to eat a turkey. A widely inventive journey. Did they write these reviews with AI that balances sharp satire with unexpected emotional payoff? It's It's not that emotional. Proving that bold imagination with the tools of AI compliments the future of animated film making. I swear to God this review is AI. This is like the most like you know it's that tone said Joel. Rude man. That was rude man. President head of some other [ __ ] So yeah, as we said, this included a two week national theater run. Two week national theater run exclusively through Screen Vision Media and their pre-show. Meaning we are talking about a network of 14,000 screens in 2,300 theaters across all 50 states. Have you seen this? Have you seen thating movie? Let me know. People weren't happy about it. Don't go to AMC theaters. Fame forward AI film festivals ad playing in AMC theaters. How embarrassing. So yeah, this got a lot of backlash. Basically to kind of make it clear, Screen Vision, they run ads before movies and movie theaters and they kind of had a slot for this that they put in their slot of ads. But then after some backlash, AMC said that it actually won't screen the AI short film Thanksgiving Day that sparked online outrage. we will quote not participate. So yeah, this is what AMC said. This article is from Variety. The content is an initiative from Screen Vision Media, which manages pre-show advertising for several movie theater chains in the United States and runs in fewer than 30% of AMC's US locations. AMC was not involved in the creation of the content or the initiative and has informed Screen Vision that AMC locations will not participate. Pretty nice, said Modern Uprising Studios. That's the thing that the guy said that like this is a a master class or whatever. He was from these studios. There's a natural alignment. Can I read something from thising company again? There is a natural alignment between initiative storytelling including gen AI augmented productions and the scale at which stories must operate. This this is vomit again. When AI enhances production workflows, it also accelerates the development of companion experiences, including immersive adaptations. Enough. Don't immerse me in anything. Enough spatial storytelling. Just use just use words. Spatial storytelling extensions and interactive. Just all three. I don't know if spatial is as much of a buzz word though as immersive and interactive. and interactive environments that blah blah blah rather than than existing separately theatrical and immersive will work in tandem deepening audience engagement. This is what movie making is all about. Whether you've gone to film school or not, I think we can all agree that film making creating art is really all about theatrical and immersive working in tandem. you know, deepening audience engagement, enriching cultural impact really, and extending the life of stories and franchises. Making art is all about extending the life of franchises. But yeah, it seems like this has already been shown in other movie theaters under the Screen Vision Network. Marcus, it's been playing in Marcus. This person encouraged people to send them an an email via their contact thing. So, if you want to if you want to do that, that's here if that applies to your movie theater. And yeah, I mean that's so ass.
Do you think they intentionally like picked the one that looks the most obviously AI? Cuz a AI, you know, even when it's like more polished and the hands work and whatever, it it looks like it is AI. Do you think they were like, we got to show the best of what we have, but it also looks obviously AI. Do you think they're trying to like make that look cool? I'm very very lucky and very very thankful to get all the support that I've been getting on my short film. van life. People have written this on the wall. People have written this on the wall. People have written this on the wall. People have written this on the wall. We are currently at the time of recording this at I think 64% which is crazy. If we go to the 100%, my hope is to go further into like the stretch goals and then I can get like a set builder to make the inside of the van look as I imagine it, which is very specific. It doesn't look like a normal van. But first of all, let's try to get to 100. That'll be really cool. Van Life is a story about a van life vlogging family. Their kid's too old. He's too uncarismatic.
