Let's talk about deception. I've told you that the white man and woman, number one, are ruthless, number two, are deceptive, and number three, they are thieves. Let's talk about deception.
This is something that we learned to practice during colonialism and enslavement, which is the idea of, you know, making nice for the enslaver. Being agreeable, at least on the surface of things. We have to now take it one step further. You see, sometimes we tell them what we're really thinking when that is not to our advantage. They are great dissimulators and manipulators, and they've been tricking us, but we never thought to trick them back. The time has come.
We see so many blacks trash out at their workplace. They've been mistreated, and it was the straw that broke the camel's back on that day, and this day, you cussed out Becky. Then you got wrote up and fired. But what if instead you started to engage in the same deceptive practices that they engage? They don't expect us to be very clever. But what if you were?
And you said to yourself, "Well, okay, these people are mistreating me. They're not respecting me as a man or woman or as an adult. They're calling me names. They're giving me, uh, you know, they won't give me any overtime. They don't pay me fairly. They don't give me the same opportunities as my colleagues in parallel functions. So, what I'm going to do is I'm going to continue making nice, smiling, and being complimentary and kind, but I'm going to start documenting everything. Dates, times, legal names, situation uh descriptions of the situation, and I'm going to take data and document over a 3-month period the differential treatment that I've received as it violates the law. Labor law, huh? So, I can get paid. But, I'mma be nice the whole time. I'm going to let them think they're getting over on me."
Or, when they start to call me out of my name or give me racial insults, maybe I'm wearing a pair of smart glasses and I've covered that light and I'm recording them as they have jokes about the N-word cuz it's hilarious to them. Or as they say these things that deride my culture or my cultural garb, I'll record it. And then I'll take it up with HR or I'll take it up with the OSHA or the labor department, and I'll make sure I get paid. But, what I'm not going to do is tell them what I really think. Hey, I don't like you or hey, you can suck this. No, I'm not going to say that.
What I'm not going to do is express my true feelings of, you know, engage in violence or, you know, do something that's going to stop my ability to earn, get me written up, and get me put on papers or locked up. That would be foolish. In other words, as black people, we must not only learn how to play the game, but master the game and execute it to perfection such that we can win. Mhm? Come on now.
So, know this. I stated to you that you should view and engage every white human being as though they are the enemy. But we are not engaging them in overt war, not a hot war, but a cold war. We know they are the enemy. We're playing nice, but also designing strategy not only for defensive purposes, but most importantly for offensive purposes. We show up to the job thinking, "How can I get a catch a lawsuit?" You know, "How can I throw a lawsuit at these people? They want to pay me 50,000 a year? How about a million? How can I find a million-dollar lawsuit opportunity here?" Mhm?
And here's another piece of dissimulation. These people are not your friends. They're the opposite. They're your enemies. They might be all at happy hour having a couple drinks. They start joking and getting friendly. They're telling inappropriate stories and inappropriate jokes. You join in, that's when you get written up. Don't drink with them. Hang out, socialize, network, don't drink. Hang out, socialize, network, listen to their stories, don't tell them your stories. Listen to their business, don't tell them your business. Go in knowing that even though we're clocked out and we're at happy hour, I'm still at work. I'm still in the trenches. I'm on the front line. I'm in the belly of the beast.
So, when you're there hanging out with Chuck from accounting and Barb from HR, and she's saying something utterly perverted, and he's saying something completely inappropriate, and then they say, "Well, what's the craziest thing you've ever done?" And Barb just finished talking about how she got a train ran on her, it's not your time to say, "Well, one time I was in Tijuana and then I" That's not your turn to say that. It's your turn to say, "Wow, Barb, that was a crazy story. Man, Chuck, that was insane. Like, you know what, man? I Man, craziest thing I ever did was, you know, drive 55 on a 45, man, you know? I've been keeping it low-key out here. I might have to hang out with you rascals a little bit more and you know, get my weight up." Chuckle it off, go on to the next thing. But, I be writing down and documenting these stories that they tell you. It's leverage and you may need to use it at some point. You may need to report Bob or or Barb or Chuck right before they report you. Huh?
And also remember, you're at the job to work and to ascend. You want to be Barb and Chuck's boss. They can't view you as a peer. You can't behave as a peer, especially when the behavior of a peer is way down here because white culture is in the lowest of places. It's always been low, vicious, and brutal, but it's just very much so in the gutter now. So, a black human being goes into the workplace to earn money and to ascend. You view every person in there who is not a black person on code as the enemy. You do not share your personal thoughts, your personal feelings, your personal history, background, or stories. However, you catalog, record, and document all of their misdeeds, misdoings, inappropriate stories, inappropriate comments, and you record it with consistency. You have a whole record on all of the violations they've committed. And you make sure that you know the labor laws as it relates to your locality and your particular job. And you make sure that you are searching for ways that your employer, your colleagues can violate those laws or your rights so that you can get paid. Full stop. Cuz that's what you were there for, to get paid. And this is not a black company owned by a black person who cares about you.
