California is drowning in fraud, waste, and abuse. And tonight, you're going to see how bad it really is. New reports and whistleblowers say tens of billions of dollars are missing. They're being siphoned off through broken programs, sham claims, illegal immigrants, fake daycares, fake medical, political favoritism under Gavin Newsom. While the media protects the Democrat's rising star for 2028, these numbers could kill his presidential ambition before he's even jumped into the race. Today, I am joined by Sheriff Chad Bianco. Uh, Sheriff, thank you so much for joining me today.
>> Absolutely. Very, very happy to be here.
>> So, uh, so much going on from a law enforcement standpoint. I'm sure you're seeing all of the fraud, the crime, the illegals, what's happening up in Minneapolis. We've got President Trump saying, "If you think things are bad in Minneapolis, they're way worse in California." Do you think there's any truth to what the president said there?
>> Oh, it is completely true. And I will tell you that I mean it was it was it was horrible us learning about what's go what's going on in Minnesota. But the thing that I liked seeing about the Minnesota coverage was that about after this day and a half two days everyone started saying, "Hey, wait a minute. If it's bad, if it's this bad here, what about California?" And for those of us in California, we're like, "Oh, yeah. Minnesota is going to be a little blip on the scale when you consider the massive amount of money that California has and the amount of money that we just completely waste and abuse. The amount of billions, the hundreds of billions of dollars going to, not millions like Minnesota, billions, hundreds of billions that is going to nonprofits, NGOs, back into the election cycle. Uh, it it's it is astronomical here that lawmakers have some have even some somewhat put in place to where it it shields them from prosecution. But the good thing for me from a lawman perspective is the people that are benefiting from it at the bottom, the ones that are getting the money, they're all going to be held accountable and people are demanding it. So I'm very happy that that it's happening. Perfect timing to expose all the corruption of government. And it's it's it is California will be national news for probably months because of the amount of fraud that we will uncover here.
>> Oh, I I'm excited to cover it and help get that exposure. Um, for those that don't know, uh, Sheriff Bianco, he's running for governor uh as as a conservative, as a Republican. Uh, this is an area that there's there's actually a lot of red voters in California. Uh, and they've kind of determined, "Hey, we just let the Democrats do everything." But you're really waking people up. You're exposing them that things can be safer. Your life can be better. We can we can keep more of your money. We don't have to deal with all of this fraud. What What is resonating the most as you go out and meet with the people? Is it safety? Is it cleaning up the fraud? Is it conservative values?
>> I think it's a little bit of all of the above. Uh, people are generally seeing that whether you believe in the Democrat party or the Republican party, people are generally seeing that California is absolutely broken, broken. And there's not really much positive going on here. Our cost of living, all of our businesses that are leaving, the our friends and family that are moving to other states, there's not a lot to say, "Hey, California is great." Other than it's the middle of January and it's 78 degrees right now and everybody's wearing shorts and t-shirts. That's the really the only thing we have going for us. But as I'm traveling the state, I think it's very unique from me being in my position. People see me as just as as a not as an outsider because I'm right in the thick of things as government and I've been fighting government, California government as the sheriff for the last eight years. And but they they see me as just a regular guy that's trying to make a difference for all of their lives. And I'm talking about the things that are that are harming them in their day-to-day that's keeping them from keeping their kids safe or opening their business. And it's just those common sense things that are now being talked about. And this really I think that my success and why I'm so popular in the polls is that I'm not doing this for the Republican party. I'm definitely not doing for our failed Democrat party, our progressive party in California. This is about Californians. For me, this is about me being in a position and being able to actually help all of California, regardless of your beliefs or your political party. And that, I think, is what is resonating with people.
>> Okay. Uh, last year, um, as President Trump put National Guard into Los Angeles, we thought we saw things get out of control. I have to imagine that was actually a very small part of the population. Is the rest of LA County, are they wanting someone to come in and be hard on crime? That this this soft on crime approach, you know, at least out here in Utah, that does not resonate with most of us.
>> No, it doesn't at all. And I will tell you that for the majority of Californians, unless you're a criminal, nobody wants to see that. No one wants to see what's happening. And where it was happening, they the media wanted everybody to believe that there was these massive riots and uprising and everything else. The reality is it was con it was confined to a lot. I mean, it was a big area from from like many many blocks in downtown Salt Lake City, but for Los Angeles and the size of Los Angeles, it was relatively small, but it was completely out of control and the law enforcement agencies were prevented from doing anything. So it made it get more out of control and there was this political agenda to make the entire country think that all of California was rising up against the government and against ICE and all of those things when really it wasn't. So there were all of the people that lived there and the people that have businesses there or the people that worked there, they're the true victims because those those idiotic protesters that didn't even know what they were protesting, they were just destroying buildings, setting things on fire, doing all the things that we watched on TV, they were just victimizing residents and law enforcement wasn't doing anything about it. For us on the outskirts, I mean, we even sent people in to help them. I sent my deputies in to help Los Angeles. Um, but we short we we pulled them out quickly when we realized that the leadership there was not actually doing any enforcement. And I'm all about the enforcement. You hold people accountable. So, we brought our people back and we made sure that none of that spilled into from Los Angeles into our county, which we neighbor. And it didn't. I mean, we I I want the rest of the country to realize the majority of California is not what you see on TV. And I think that that's what we're going to see in this election is we're going to we're going to bring our state back to sanity and I say it all the time. We're going to save the rest of the country from falling into the same trap that California did.
>> Yeah. And I I love California. It's one of my favorite places to visit. The people are so kind. I I love the weather and all the activities. And so for me, I I would love to see uh a Republican, a conservative get in there and clean up that crime. It brings me no joy to report on that stuff uh, you know, to my community. Um, let me ask you this. Um, it's become very apparent that Governor Tim Walls knew about this fraud that was going on and it does seem that he was allowing the fraud to happen so long as he got the voting block to keep him in power. Do you see any of that with Governor Newsom where he was aware of the fraud and maybe just didn't want to go after it or felt like he couldn't go after it?
>> No, he he's been in politics his entire adult life. He knows exactly how to manipulate the system, exactly how to take advantage of the system. We know here in California that all of the people that the that they allowed into this country illegally. They're those are voters. They're not supposed to be voting, but they all vote. They gave them all driver's licenses. He lied and told the rest of the country that he didn't, but we all know here that they did. Now they're in the process of removing them. But they allow them to vote. It's illegal for us to ask if you're a citizen. So now, even with all of the money and the fraud, we know that that money from those nonprofits, it's easily traced that the people that are getting the the billions of dollars, the hundreds of millions, the millions, the all of that money when it gets filtered down through the nonprofit, you can see that they donate back to these Democrat causes, the Democrat politicians. So, it's a big it it's called here, we call it, and especially in the homeless industry, the homeless industrial complex. It is a massive embezzlement and laundry laundering scheme of taxpayer dollars that go to all these nonprofits that works its way back around into the election cycles supporting the the politicians that are going to keep that money flow going. So, we have known about that for years and unfortunately our politicians have passed laws that shield them from prosecution. We're going to be able to fix it and we are going to be able to arrest the people below. But yes, we 100% know that Newsom knows about it. Waltz knew about it. Every single politician, Karen Bass in Los Angeles, she's she's even worse, I believe, than Newsom is. And they all know about it. They're all taking advantage of it. It's the It's this Democrat system that has that has been put into place to manipulate even even mail-in ballots. Mail-in ballots were put in place for one reason only, and it's fraud. All across the country, mail-in balloting was done so they could fraudulently influence elections. We know that for a fact. We just need to get to the point where we're going to admit that we were taken advantage of. Or if you are a Democrat, just come out and say, "I don't believe in socialism. I don't believe in this illegal activity, and as a Democrat, I'm standing up against it." That's the strange thing that I don't understand is where are those Democrats?
>> Yeah. Wow. The the first time my eyes were really open was after the Palisades fires where they did this concert, everybody lovingly came together. They raised like $100 million and then you find out the majority of that went into charities and NGOs and it paid a bunch of salaries and most of those had nothing to do with fire or recovery or rebuilding or construction. It just soaked up all the money. People got rich and I'll bet you they end up voting Democrat, right?
>> Oh yeah. The all of the people that are benefiting from that money, they will all vote Democrat because in in the Republican side in California, I'm vowing to get rid of all of it. Th this fraud and abuse of our taxpayer money absolutely ends and anybody that broke the law to do it is going to suffer a consequence. They're going they're going to go to jail and they're going to pay that money back. That's how our system is supposed to work. So, in California, all of those people are going to be voting Democrat, which is why we have to get more people that don't necessarily vote that I don't know what it is actually in Utah. If you if you didn't know this, I'm a Utah native. I moved to California in 1989, but uh in California, uh roughly in every election between 40 and 60% of the population doesn't vote. And so, we're we're very apathetic voters here. And I think that that's what's going to happen is those people are the ones tired of getting taken advantage of. So, we're going to see more of a voter turnout this time finally, and we're going to be able to get a get a reign on this. But the fraud and the abuse is purposeful. It's been set up and designed to benefit them in their political careers and their financial lives and their financial careers. And and we're all tired of it.
>> Okay. Uh, let me let me switch gears with you. Uh, it's believed that close to 600,000 Americans have been killed by fentanyl over the last seven years. What are your thoughts on President Trump and his administration putting pressure on the cartels, the drug runners from Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, all the way down to to China. And is this an issue that hit California hard?
>> It hit us very hard because of our massive border. And we noticed this. It was 2019. It was December of 2019 where I had my first fentanyl death. And then it just skyrocketed after that. And um, it it was something new to us. We didn't know what it was. We thought we we thought it was just a medicine that doctors used in minuscule amounts. And then all of a sudden with an open border, our our streets are being flooded with it. And I I will I I'll tell you right now in California and and we know and or suspect that it's like this in the rest of the country. Fentanyl is in every single drug now. We are finding people that that their only drug of choice, the only drug they use is marijuana and they are overdosing on fentanyl. They don't know it's in the fentanyl, but the drug dealers are putting fentanyl in there because it's so cheap and it's so addicting. It's making more clients. It's generating more business and they don't care if you die because they're addicting more and more people. So when we we begged law enforcement in this country, absolutely begged the Biden administration to close the border, not yes, the the the humans coming across were were massive and and we were afraid of that, but the drugs that were just flowing into our country that were destroying our communities was it was just insurmountable. And we begged the Biden administration to to stop it, to help us fix it. And it fell on deaf ears. We were we were flat out told no drug enforcement is not a priority and we just had to suffer the consequences. So I can tell this to the rest of the country. President Trump saved us from fentanyl. He saved our communities from the destruction of fentanyl because in my 32 career 32-year career being a border state and a border I'm considered a border county. This is the first time in 32 years that our border has been closed. And we know that we are doing everything we can now, the federal government is to not only stop the people from coming in, but the Border Patrol and those agencies are actually back in the in the enforcement of people smuggling drugs into the country. So now we're able to work hand in hand with them to to get a handle on it, but we are so far behind the eightball on this massive fentanyl um issue that we have here. It's difficult. We we've got our I mean, we've got our hands full and we're doing everything we can. Trump administration is doing everything he can to give us the tools for it and we're certainly grateful.

Uh, if you win, I I would assume that uh like Ron DeSantis and um down down in Texas, Governor Abbott, you you want to have an open line of communication with President Trump and and invite them in where like right now Newsom, Pritzker, Walls, they're doing everything they can. If if anything's connected to Trump, they've got to do the exact opposite of whatever it is, even if it's bad for the people. So, you see yourself working hand in hand with the president?
>> Absolutely. And I will I will have two years of of doing everything we can to make California better and and in turn making the rest of the country better. But the difference between me and the majority of politicians, especially the ones that you named off, is when in the history of America did we decide that we were going to fight the president tooth and nail? The president is our president and that's the direction of our country because that's what the voters voted for. So the difference between me and everyone else is I don't care if if the next president if it's if it's JD Vance, if it's somebody different, if it's if it's a Republican, I will work with them. If it is a Democrat, we will do everything we can to make sure that the state that the not only the state of California is is taken care of, but the rest of the country also because I'm doing this for Californians. I'm not doing it for the Democrat party. I'm not doing it for the Republican party. I'm doing it to make sure that all of our lives are less influenced by government, less affected by government, and government's put in place to help us when it should and get out of our way when we want to make our the American dream or the California dream a reality.
>> Okay. Yeah, I'm all for uh less government in my life. Um, let me let me ask you this. Um, California became somewhat famous for this soft on crime. Oh, you can steal up to $900 or a thousand, what, whatever the number is, and and you're basically just back on the street. But this is horrible for communities. It's horrible for small businesses, big businesses. It hurts jobs. It emboldens criminals. Is this something that as governor you can reverse or or push to get rid of so that crime is actually a crime again?
>> Yes, absolutely. It is. It is nothing but a political agenda. And for the rest of the country and still to all of my family and friends in Utah, uh, I tell them this is an absolute disaster. This this agenda that they had, this love affair with criminals that California Democrats have that we now see is really turning into the rest of the country. Minnesota is the same way. New York is the same way. They they despise their law enforcement and they love their criminals. And it has been the downfall of California from 2014 when they implemented their agenda and until today. It's been 12 years of just complete destruction of life in California. Homelessness that is just completely out of control. Drug and alcohol and mental health issues that we see on our streets every single day is completely out of control. Crime is just any time in history in my 32 years. It's far worse than any time in 32 years. It's it you we cannot have a civilized society in the United States of America without an adherence to laws. And if we are going to love criminals over victims and and and protect them and make their lives easier or enable them at the expense of law-abiding Californians or law-abiding Utahns or Americans, um, the rest of the country is going to suffer the same fate that California has. And when you walk down your streets, you'll be in the same position that we are here.
>> Okay. Uh, final question. I really appreciate you coming on. I know how busy you are. Um, if if you become governor, um, how might that make uh all of California safer because you're going to be very pro uh help the sheriffs, pro help the police, pro help the fire departments, ambulances. I have to imagine there's a lot of people that serve and protect uh these cities that would love to have somebody that has their back at at the head of the government.
>> Yeah. There's about 350,000 of us that are this massive ground game in California trying to save our state and we're going we're going to make it happen. We're going to do a good job of it. So the what we have done and in in any in whether it's Utah or whether it's Nevada, whatever it is, California, the number even in the the country, America, our number one role of government is the protection of its citizens. The the whether it's the military or whether it's our local law enforcement and fire and in California, we have dropped that public safety component down to about number 10. We're no longer the priority and that's where we see the we we see the the consequences of of failed fire policy where we lose 12,000 homes in one single fire. Uh, devastating and wiping out an entire city off of the map. Uh, losing entire portions of our state and our forests because of forest mismanagement, the crime issues, all of those things. Uh, it's just been bad policy that that we we really can't influence immediately. As soon as I take over, that agenda changes. The the the um, the actual resources goes back to where it was. And while they don't talk about the uh, the defund the police movement here, it was a very behind-the-scenes shifting of entire budgets and and a a slow decade-long movement of just making sure that that police and fire was not funded how it should be. And so it was a behind-the-scenes government move of of defunding the police and defunding fire and public safety that we just have to change. We just have to get it back to priorities.
>> Okay. I thought I thought of one more thing. Again, I appreciate you coming on. Um, another YouTuber, Benny Johnson, he he's out there and he's been on the streets speaking with the police and and one of them was telling him, "Oh, this this, you know, particular area, we we used to have a dozen cops in the area. Now it's two. Crime's gone up. Homelessness has gone up, drug use, drug overdose, and we're supposed to cover this. We're supposed to canvas the same area with, you know, two people when we used to have over a dozen." I it h how can you uh is that just amount come down to uh allocating more budget so that you can have more people in uniform?
>> Yes, 100%. It is about the direction of law enforcement and the politization of law enforcement. And I'll tell you, Benny, I was with Benny yesterday. I took Benny down to Skid Row in Los Angeles, and we I was I was showing him what the homeless industrial complex has created. And we were talking with homeless down there. And the problem with what happened is, now think about this. I'm the sheriff of the fourth largest sheriff's office in the country, running for California governor. I'm down talking to the homeless uh that that are living there that are suffering through this trying to get an idea of what they need, what they want, of how we can make this better. And people around us believed that we were ICE because we were not wearing uniforms. They just assumed we were ICE. They started surrounding us. They started rallying. And LAPD did not have the resources to come and help us. We had to get out of there. So this is this is a reality of a lack of attention, lack of law enforcement, but also this political aspect of not being able to to deploy the resources where they're absolutely needed. And it's just it's something that has gotten completely out of hand. And I I do not blame the Los Angeles PD police the the police department's police officers. Um, I wish their management would stand up to their mayor and say public safety in Los Angeles is the most important thing that we have. They they the mayor controls the enforcement of their police department and um, as the governor and being vocal and exposing all of this, I can certainly change that, especially even in our biggest city.
