If God Is for Me, Then Let My Enemies Face Him First | Morning Prayer

Grace Oasis12:10

Transcription

Before we pray, let's first take a moment to listen to God's word, and then we'll pray together. In Exodus 23:22, it says, "But if you carefully obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries."

God himself is declaring that if you listen to his voice, if you walk in faithful obedience, he will personally rise to defend you. Anyone who dares to oppose you, any force, any power, any enemy will first have to go through him. The battle will no longer be yours; it becomes his. And when God fights for you, no enemy can stand.

This is the kind of truth that changed how David saw the world. It's why, in the Psalms, David could boldly proclaim, "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies." He understood something many people forget: that when you walk with the shepherd, you are never outnumbered, never unprotected, and never alone. David wasn't fearless because life was easy; he was fearless because he knew who stood beside him. And that same promise stands firm for you today.

So let me remind you: it's time to speak. Speak not to people, but to the real enemies in your life. Those unseen battles that try to wear you down in silence. Speak to the anxiety that tries to steal your sleep and say, "You do not belong here. The peace of God guards my heart and mind." Speak to depression and boldly declare, "The joy of the Lord is my strength, and it lives in me." Speak to fear and rejection, to confusion and conflict, to spiritual oppression and inner chaos. Call them out, not with your own strength, but in the mighty name of Jesus.

Because spiritual warfare isn't always loud. Sometimes it's in the quiet, in the thoughts that torment, in the heaviness you can't explain, in the lies that whisper: You're not good enough, not strong enough, not loved. But you are loved by the one who commands angel armies. You are chosen, sealed, and covered by a promise that cannot be broken. And in moments when you feel too weak to fight, remember this: You don't have to. That's the beauty of grace. Jesus didn't call you to win battles alone; He calls you to walk with him. And as you do, he becomes your shield. He becomes your defender. He becomes your victory.

We need Jesus every day. Not just in church or during our lowest moments, but in the ordinary moments too. In the busyness, in the boredom, in the decisions, in the heartbreaks, we need his mercy to forgive us, his grace to strengthen us, his wisdom to guide us, and yes, his protection to shield us. Because no matter how wise, talented, or resilient you are, there are battles you cannot win without him. There are spiritual forces you can't even see, but he sees them all, and he is never caught off guard. The Bible reminds us in Psalm 34:9, "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." Did you catch that? Not some, but all. That means you may face battles. You may go through hardship, loss, betrayal, or inner torment, but you won't stay there. God's promise is not just survival; it's deliverance. He brings you out. He lifts you up. He restores what the enemy tried to steal.

And don't forget: your safety doesn't come from the things of this world. True safety comes from Jesus. He is the one who stops the arrows that fly by night. He is the one who overturns wicked schemes, who confuses the plans of your enemies, who makes a way when there seems to be none. So if today you're wondering what to do, how to move forward, or where to turn, the answer is simple: Look to Jesus. Stay near him. Listen for his voice, even when it's quiet. Trust him, even when the path doesn't make sense. Walk with him, even when it's hard. Let his spirit fill your heart. Let his presence be your shelter, your confidence, your hiding place. Because when God is your defender, your enemies don't stand a chance.

Now let's take a moment to pray together. Lord Jesus, you are kind beyond measure, powerful beyond comprehension, and merciful beyond anything I could ever deserve. You are holy, yet you draw near to the brokenhearted. You are mighty, yet you call me your own. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. And you never abandon those who belong to you. And with you on my side, I have nothing to fear. No shadow can overwhelm me. No night can last forever, because you are the light that darkness cannot overcome.

Father, this world feels heavy sometimes. The news is filled with sorrow, confusion, and pain. There's disease that steals peace, fear that grips hearts, violence that shakes communities, and problems that seem to have no end. But even in the middle of this chaos, I lift my eyes to you. I know where my help comes from; it comes from the maker of heaven and earth. So I come humbly today, asking for your covering over me and my family. I plead the precious blood of Jesus over our lives. May your blood cover every doorway of our home, every journey we take, every decision we make, every thought that enters our minds, and every emotion that weighs on our hearts. Cover our bodies with health, our spirits with peace, our hearts with courage, and our souls with your everlasting grace. Come and dwell among us, Lord. Let your presence saturate the walls of our home and fill the atmosphere with peace that surpasses all understanding. Let your spirit hover over us like a cloud by day and a fire by night, guiding us, guarding us, keeping us close. I know there is no safer place than under your wings. And so I run to you, Lord. I don't walk; I run into the shelter of your arms, into the comfort of your promises. Please stay near, Father. Don't let me drift. Hold me tight.

I ask you, Lord, with boldness and trust, block every plan the enemy has set in motion to harm me. Destroy every trap, cancel every scheme, and silence every lie. Let every weapon forged against me and my loved ones be broken and made powerless in the name of Jesus. I stand on your authority and declare that no curse, no whisper of the enemy, no chain from the past, and no fear about the future will succeed in its mission. For I am covered by the blood of the lamb. Lord, walk with me through every trial. Be the fourth man in my fiery furnace. Let the flames refine me, not consume me. Let the heat only burn away what doesn't belong in me. And let the chains that once held me captive fall to the ground, shattered. Because where your spirit is, there is freedom. There is healing. There is hope.

I belong to you, Jesus. I am not my own. I've been bought with a price. You paid for me with your blood. And because of that, I am safe. My life is in your hands, and no one can snatch me out of them. My family is under your covering. My children are under your wings. My future is hidden in the security of your plans. I trust in your miracle-working power, not just to save, but to keep me. You surround me with songs of deliverance. You go before me in battle. You fight for me when I don't even know I'm in danger. Satan, hear me clearly: I do not belong to you. You have no power here. I am a child of God. I am sealed with the spirit. I am marked by the blood. You cannot touch me. You cannot torment my mind. You cannot destroy my purpose. You cannot steal my joy. I belong to the one who crushed your head at the cross. The gates of hell will not prevail against me because I stand in Christ.

Lord, I hold tightly to your promise in Psalm 91: A thousand may fall at my side, 10,000 at my right hand, but it will not come near me. I know that you are my deliverer. What you say you will do. What you promise you will fulfill. You are faithful to rescue, faithful to redeem, faithful to protect. So today I make a choice: I choose to trust you. I place every worry at your feet, every unanswered question, every situation that feels bigger than me. I surrender it all, Lord, because you are bigger than the storm. You are higher than the mountain. You are stronger than the struggle. And you are already working on my behalf, behind the scenes, in ways I can't yet see. Take everything the enemy meant for harm and turn it around for good. Let every pain become a platform for your glory. Let every test become a testimony. Let every setback become a setup for something far greater than I could imagine. Let my life shout to the world that you are good, you are able, and you are always near. Thank you for protecting me, even when I don't realize it. I rest now in the peace of knowing I am safe in you. In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

If this prayer has touched your heart, please type amen as a sign of faith. I pray that every blessing in this prayer is now upon you in the name of Jesus. And if you need a special prayer, feel free to let us know in the comments. We would be honored to pray for you. May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
