Book of Isaiah, chapter number 26, and we read verse number three. And he said, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, for he trusteth in thee."
The word of God was given to us not just so we can understand history and trace the children of Israel and find out what it says in the book of Genesis. There's more to that. There's more. The scriptures are a revelation. You know the Bible says all scripture is given by inspiration of God. All scripture is given by inspiration of God. And then it says, "And it is profitable for doctrine, for correction, for reproof." And then it says, "For instruction in righteousness." Now that's powerful. It is profitable for instruction in righteousness. In other words, the scriptures are God's instruction manual for life.
When you purchase, uh, an electrical appliance, usually it will come with an instruction manual. If you follow that manual and understand it, you'd be able to operate that appliance and get the best out of it. But if you neglect the manual, like many people do, you're likely to come back to whoever you bought it from to say, "Well, I got a problem with this thing."
When you come to understand that you are just one human person among more than 4 billion people all over the world, and that the whole world is so big, and there's so much to be done, and there's a whole life before you, you realize you need an instruction manual to tell you who you are, where you come from, what you're doing here, where you're going, your reason for being. There's too many people who don't know why they were born. They're just living to do whatever they find to do. That's emptiness. Life can have a lot more meaning if you get a hold of the instruction manual. That's the Bible, the word of God. Hallelujah.
He says, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, perfect peace, perfect peace, perfect prosperity, perfect health. The one whose mind is stayed on God." Let me read you another portion of the Bible. Psalm 107. Book of Psalms 107. You ready for a beautiful life? >> You sure? >> I made up my mind a long time ago to have a wonderful life. >> And I do have a wonderful life. >> Hallelujah. >> Praise the Lord. >> You can have a glorious life. Life is simple, and you can make it wonderful.
You know, there are a lot of people who like to blame maybe the government or their environment or some other victim for their problems. But you have to be bigger than that. See, you have to get bigger than that. Blame no one for your sorrow. Suffering is unnecessary. >> Poverty is unnecessary. >> Amen. >> I told you yesterday, nobody ever got an award for suffering. >> Look at someone sitting close to you. Say hello. >> Say, "You ready for life? Be cool." >> Be cool. >> Say, "Get ready." >> Get ready. >> Life is sweet. >> Life is sweet. >> If you only know how. >> Hallelujah. >> All right. Psalm 107. And I want to read from verse 17. Look at the first word there. Can you tell me what's the first word? See, God knows the good ones, and he also knows the bad ones. He says, "Fools." [Music] Fools. Can you read that for me? Read verse, verse 17 for me. Come on. >> Stop. He didn't say people because of the government are afflicted. Didn't say that. And say a lot of people because their parents were poor are afflicted. No, God knows better than that. He tells us exactly what it is. He lets you know the real trouble. The real trouble.
Someone may have been responsible for how you got to where you are now, but you are responsible for staying there. >> Are you hearing me? >> Makes no difference how you got to where you are. That's history. That's your story. How you got to where you are. >> Yes. Welcome. So, what are you going to do now? It's up to you. >> The past may be blamed on someone else. Your past, maybe even your present, may be blamed on someone else, but your future >> will be blamed on you. >> Your future is your responsibility. >> Yes. When you were born, they left you in a garbage dump. Yes. Yes. Yes. When you were born, no mom or dad to take care of you. Yes. Yes. Great. When you were born, you were left in the orphanage. Okay. Great. You were abandoned. All right. You had no money to go to school. Okay. All right. Your parents are poor. Okay. You lost everything you had. You lost your business. All right. Your wife left you. Your husband left you. Okay. The children ran away. Okay. Okay. All right. Now you're. What are you going to do now? [Applause] >> That's what really matters. >> So what are you going to do now? >> Oh yeah, it's all happened. So what are you going to do now? >> What's your future going to be like? Are you going to carry the same story, blaming it on everybody else? Oh yeah. I don't know what I'm going to be. I don't know what the future holds. I don't know what's going to happen to me. Oh, my dad left me. Oh, my husband left me. Oh, my children have gone away. Oh, oh, oh, oh.
What life do you want to have? I thought to myself, if Jesus came and suffered so much and paid such a tremendous price to save me, if he truly died to save me, I must be something. >> What do you think? >> If a man gave everything he had just to get me, I must be something. >> So, I thought I should find out about me. >> Amen. Cuz nobody will go to a supermarket and offer something for nothing >> and say, "Hey, I want to pay." And they say, "What are you buying?" "Nothing. I just want to pay." >> And Jesus paid >> not for nothing. >> Do you ever know anybody who went to a shop and said, "How much is this thing?" And they said, "77,000 rand." And he said, "I'd like to give 10,000 rand." Do they do it that way? >> No. >> Do they give more than the actual value? >> They never do that. So why do you think you're nothing? You should know what your real value is by finding out what was paid for you. >> That's your value. Jesus. You are as valuable to God as Jesus is. Oh, glory to God. >> That should be the end of suffering. >> You are as valuable to God as Jesus is. >> Did you ever stop to think like that? Did you know you were as valuable to God as Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God?
Okay, let me just read you one scripture. You ready to see it? Okay, St. John's Gospel, chapter number 17. You know, I told you to go to the book of Psalms. We are not through with that yet. But just what I said now, I want you to notice St. John's Gospel, chapter number 17. And, um, I, I want you to read. Oh, hallelujah. >> Oh, glory to God. >> Hallelujah. >> Woo. Glory to God. >> Hallelujah. >> I can't read these scriptures without feeling the anointing of God going through me. St. John's Gospel, chapter number 17. I want us to read from verse 21. No, no, take it from verse 20 so you can catch it. Are you ready? >> Now Jesus is praying in this chapter of the Bible. He's praying to the Father. That's what you got in St. John's Gospel, chapter number 17. He's praying to the Father. Listen to his prayer. He says so many beautiful things, and then he comes down to verse 20 and he says to the Father, he says, "Neither pray I for these alone." He says, "I'm not praying for these disciples alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word." That includes me. >> Hallelujah. >> Now look at it. Verse 21. "That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us, that the" Oh boy, look at that. "that the world may believe that thou hast sent me." >> Verse 22 is a big one. He says, "And the glory which thou gavest me, I have given them." >> Now stop there. He didn't say, "The glory which thou gavest me, I shall give them." >> You know, you hear people praying their religious prayer. "Oh God, no man shall take your glory. We will not take your glory." Shut up. [Applause] He says he will not share his glory with the gods of the heathen. That's what he said. >> But he does share his glory with his keys. >> It's right there. >> "And the glory which thou gavest me." Look, it's in red. Have you noticed that? Those are the words of Jesus. >> He said, "And the glory which thou gavest me, I have given them, that they may be one, even as we are one." Then he goes, "I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them as thou hast loved me." >> It's right there. Jesus wants the world to know >> that the Father has loved us as he has loved him. Jesus, >> he wants the world to know. He wants everybody to know that we are as valuable to God as he is. >> Thank you, Lord Jesus. >> All right, back to Psalm 107. Oh, glory to God. Glory to God. See, he doesn't get any glory from you being sick. >> He doesn't get any glory from you being broke. >> Now, you know, in South Africa, I understand they use different terms. You understand what it is to be broke? Broke. >> Do you use that term here? >> And some people are broke. That means no money. >> All right, you got it. Now, I was in the car the other day and, um, at that particular junction, there's a little guy standing and holding something to clean the windscreen. And he came close to me, and I did. Now that meant no. But to him, in South Africa, it meant go ahead. So I did that for him, and he, he nodded. And I mean, he nodded and went ahead and did it. So I thought, dear Lord. Oh boy. In many parts of Africa, during funerals, they wear black. In some parts of Asia, they wear white. The world is so different. All right. Psalm 107. We were reading from verse number 20. No, no, no. 17. All right. And you read 17 to me, right? Okay. Let's look at it again. He says, "Fools because of their transgressions and because of their iniquities are afflicted because of their transgressions and because of their iniquities are afflicted." He said, "Fools because of the wrong things they do, they are afflicted." As a guy without a home, suffering, suffering with pains in his body, itches, wounds. He doesn't know why his life is like this. Thomas is losing his job. Every job he gets in 6 months is gone. Some struggling, trying to get through one month. Not enough money. Never enough. Never. Never enough. Never enough. That's affliction. That's financial affliction. So much debt that they worry, God, how do I get through this thing? That's affliction. That's affliction. He says, "Fools because of their transgressions and because of their iniquities are afflicted."
Let me show you something else before we go on with this. Book of Isaiah, chapter number one. The book of Isaiah, you there? Okay. When you go straight to verse 19, it's chapter 1. Have you seen it? >> Verse 19, chapter number one. It says, "If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land." He says, "Fools because of their transgressions and because of their iniquities are afflicted." Now he says, "If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land." Now some people are not eating the good of the land. They are harvesting all the bad things of the land, all the sufferings of the land. You talk about poverty in the land, that's them. You talk about lack and want, that's them. You talk about sickness, that's them. See, we can preach the gospel better, living free of sickness, disease, and infirmity, free of poverty, lack, and wants, than we would under those circumstances. >> You believe that? >> Thank you, Lord Jesus. >> All right. Now, come back here. Psalm 107. We're still reading. He says, "Fools because of their transgressions and because of their iniquities are afflicted. Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat." That's an old King James word for food. Their soul abhors all manner of food, and they draw near unto the gates of death. They draw near unto the gates of death. Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. Mark that word. Distresses. Look at verse 20. I want y'all to read verse 20. One to go. "He sent his word, and delivered." >> How did he save them? He sent his word. Turn to Psalm 119. Why are you where you are? And how are you going to move to the next level? Thank you, Lord Jesus. Glory to God. >> You ready? >> Okay. Psalm 119. We're looking at verse number 67. Have you found it? >> I want you to read it to me. Want to go. >> Stop. Stop there. Stop there. You would finish it soon. He says, "Before I was afflicted, I went astray. Before affliction came, I went astray. The affliction was not accidental. Stop thinking that your problem is a mystery. Do you understand? You know, people talk about the devil like the devil is so powerful. You know, your problem is not a mystery. >> It's not a mystery. He tells you here, look, here's what happened to David. He said, "Before I was afflicted, I went astray. I'd missed the way before the affliction came." He said, "Fools because of their transgressions and because of their iniquities are afflicted." He called them fools. Who are fools? Those who ignore truth. They're called fools. They ignore truth. They ignore or reject instruction. All right. Now look at it. Says, "Before I was afflicted, I went astray, but now have I kept thy word." Hallelujah. >> Now have I kept thy word. See, he doesn't want affliction anymore. So he says, "Now have I kept thy word." And and look at, look at what does it say about God in verse 68. "Thou art good, and doest good." >> See, his testimony of God hath changed. "Before I was afflicted, I went astray, but now I've kept your word." >> Hallelujah. >> Praise the Lord. Now go to Psalm 16. >> Hello. >> Did you hear what I said? >> Psalm 16. All right. So, did you get it now? 16. Psalm 16. All right. 16, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16. >> Hallelujah. >> Praise the Lord. >> All right. I'm going to read to you from verse 11. In fact, you'd like to read it yourself. All right. Read verse 11. One, two, go. [Music] Glory to God. >> Hallelujah. >> "Thou wilt show me the path of life." >> "Thou wilt show me the path of life." "In thy presence is fullness. Fullness of joy." >> "Fullness of joy." I said you can have a great life. He says, "In thy presence is fullness of joy. At thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore." >> "Fullness of joy." >> "Pleasures forevermore." Tell somebody, you can have a great life. You can have a great life. >> One more time. You can have a great life. >> Say it again. >> You can have a great life. >> You can have a great life. >> You can have a great life. >> Who wants to have a great life? >> Yeah, that's what belongs to you. >> That's what belongs to you in Christ Jesus. Now, notice what it says. "Thou wilt show me the path of life. The path of life in thy presence is fullness of joy. At thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore." Amen. >> Amen. >> Now, why does he tell us these things? David had a wonderful experience with God, and he had a tremendous life, and raised his son Solomon to make the right choice every time. You remember what Solomon said? He said, "I was my father's son and only beloved in the sight of my mother." He said, "My father taught me also." You know, a lot of times we talk about Solomon and how that you, when he was a little boy, and he had this dream, and God came to him in that dream and said, "What do you want me to do for you? Ask what you want." And the young guy said, "I want, give me wisdom." You know, you remember that. But he tells us, Solomon tells us in his own writings that David that taught him how to make the right choices in life. It was David who taught him. So when that opportunity came and the Lord said, "Hey, young guy, what you want?" He didn't ask for long life. He didn't say, "Oh, secure the throne for me." He said, "Give me wisdom >> and understanding." >> Hallelujah. >> Hallelujah. >> Praise the Lord. >> Now, let's see what he tells us about wisdom. Are you ready? >> Okay. We begin with Proverbs chapter number three. Oh, glory to God. Glory to God. You know, the Lord can, can turn you on with his word. There's no telling how far you would go. Verse 13, Proverbs chapter number three. You there? >> Amen. >> Proverbs chapter number three, and I'm reading to you from verse 13. "Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding." Happy, happy, happy, happy, happy is the man that findeth wisdom. And the man that getteth understanding. What's wisdom? Wisdom is the word of God. Simply put, it's the word of God. Bible says Christ has made unto us wisdom. >> Hallelujah. Let me show that to you. So this is so important. 1 Corinthians. 1 Corinthians chapter number one. I'll show that to you. It's so important. Have you seen it? 1 Corinthians. Are you there? >> 1 Corinthians chapter number one. I'm reading to you from verse number 30. Oh, you'd like this. Are you there now? >> "But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us." Christ Jesus is made unto us. Christ Jesus is made unto us. The first thing he says there is what? Wisdom. Now it's amazing how the so many people have neglected that. They've never thought about it in that area. But you see, the next one he says, "and righteousness." Oh, we, we, we trust that Christ is my righteousness. Hallelujah. Christ is my righteousness, and sanctification. Oh yeah. He's my sanctification, and redemption. Glory to God. He's my redemption. But the first thing he tells us is wisdom. >> Christ is my wisdom. You know what that means? >> It means I think the right thoughts. >> I choose and speak the right words. >> I go to the right places. I do the right thing the first time. >> Our consciousness of that reality is what puts us through. But most of us have never thought about it. You see, righteousness, consciousness is what God's people need to understand. But too many are sin conscious, too conscious of their sin, their inabilities, and ineffectiveness, and inefficiency. They never think about their righteousness. "I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus." They've never thought about that. If you are the righteousness of God, then you are the expression of his perfection. >> Oh boy. Are you still following me now? >> You better follow me now, cuz you miss me here, you might as well get a pillow. "I am the fulfillment of his dream." >> Do you get it? >> Christ, it says, has become my righteousness. He is my righteousness. And he's not only my righteousness. The Bible says that I am his righteousness. That means I am the proof of his righteousness. >> Now, because I am a proof of his righteousness, I am the expression of his love, the expression of his perfection. >> Am I just? Come on. Are you still here? Boy, I will read that scripture to you. What I just told you is all in the Bible. I'll read that to you later. Listen. It says, "Of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption." He has been made wisdom unto me. Christ is my wisdom. The anointing of God has become my wisdom. >> So I do not lack wisdom. >> Woohoo. [Applause] >> All right. One other thought. One other thought. You ready? >> So you go back to Proverbs chapter 3. Woo. Glory. You back in Proverbs chapter 3. >> You know when God made Solomon wise, what happened to him? He became the richest man. >> He was so wise. So, so wise until he was born of wisdom. The Bible tells us about that. See, one day he sat down. He said, "All right, can I?" He said, "Lord, I just want to test some foolishness." I mean, he had been so wise, had become so wise that he didn't know what those foolish guys were. He didn't know what kind of life they were living. He said, "Lord, I, I want to take an excuse and get foolish for a moment." That was wrong. He told us, he told us it was wrong, but that he did it. That was so wise, I decided to try foolishness. He was so wise. A man was so wise. When people came to him, they were boy, boy. Bible says people traveled long distances just to hear him talk. Many years ago. >> I don't think I ever told anybody this, or I, I didn't tell them about this, but many years ago, while I was praying and studying and looking to the Bible, God said, "I've given you wisdom." >> You know what he said? He said, "And many are going to come to you from distant lands." He said, "As they came to Solomon," he said, "so shall they come." >> You know what? >> That's exactly what's been happening to us in our ministry. >> That's what God said. And you know, when it comes from God, you can prove it. And when it comes from God, it's supernatural. Amen. >> And then God gives you spiritual understanding of it. >> That's why I can understand wisdom because it's working in me. >> Hallelujah. >> Thank you, Lord Jesus. >> Glory to God. >> Hallelujah. >> Now look at this. See, I, I celebrate wisdom. >> Cuz the Bible says if you celebrate wisdom, wisdom will put a crown of glory on your head. So I celebrate wisdom. When I pray, when I'm all alone, I dance about wisdom. I have fellowship with wisdom. I run around and shout wisdom. Glory to God. I play like a child with wisdom. He's my friend, brother. Wisdom. >> Hallelujah. >> Look at this. Look at well in chapter 3, book of Proverbs, and and, uh, now in verse 15, "She is more praised and all the things that thou can desire not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace." Oh, glory to God. No wonder my life is full of peace. >> Amen. >> Untroubled, unperturbed, undisturbed. >> Peace. Jesus said to me, "My peace I give unto you." >> Peace. When I sleep, I sleep like a baby. [Applause] >> I sleep. I don't toss and turn and and wake up. I can't sleep. I don't need no pills for sleeping. When I sleep, I sleep good. When I laugh, I laugh. I don't laugh like somebody who's trying to laugh. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. I said hallelujah. God. Hallelujah. >> Tremendous life. Are you still there? Look at verse 15. >> God bless you, brother. Glory to God. >> Hallelujah. >> Listen to this. Verse 18. >> Verse 18. See, you're talking about wisdom. >> He says, "She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her." [Applause] Oh, glory to God. >> "A tree of life to them that lay hold upon her." >> "And happy is everyone that retaineth her." Glory. [Applause] Listen, >> listen. >> I'm talking about the wisdom of God. >> Somebody says, "Oh, if I could just get that wisdom." >> He said, "I want to get that wisdom." I got news for you. I said, "I got news for you." >> Don't try to get wisdom. >> Don't try >> because if you try, >> you'd miss him. >> Don't try to get him. >> King James uses heart. She. Well, don't try to, don't try to get wisdom. Why? Because in Christ Jesus. Colossians. Turn to Colossians. [Music] >> Are you ready? Amen. >> Chapter number two from verse two, "That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding." You know, that's King James for you. "to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ." All right. Say Christ. >> Christ. >> Good. Now we read that into verse three. "In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." >> "In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." In other words, Jesus Christ is the embodiment of all wisdom. >> He is the embodiment of all knowledge. And the Bible says of him, if you will turn quickly to verse 9, oh boy, I love this. "For in him, oh thank you Jesus. In him, in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead." >> Christ Jesus. He's more than a rabbi. >> He's more than a prophet. >> He's more than a teacher. >> He's more than a healer. >> Somebody said, "Oh, I love Jesus because he's a wonderful religious leader." He's more than that. Amen. >> He says, "In him dwelleth." >> It never says this about anybody else. "In him Christ in him dwelleth." I wish all the, they call him San Gomez here. Is that what they call him? >> I wish all the San Gomez would read this. >> Oh yes. I'm telling you. Stop. When Buddha was dying, he said, "I'm still searching the truth." >> Jesus said, "I am the truth." >> Now look at, look at what the Bible says about Jesus. He says, "In him dwelleth all the fullness." Hey, >> "all the fullness of the Godhead bodily." >> He says the fullness of. I feel like tearing this thing. You don't understand what is going on. >> I'm coming out of my skin right now. [Music] "In him dwelleth all the fullness." All the fullness of the Godhead bodily. The fullness of God dwells in Christ. Nothing out. >> Papa God and everything he represents >> is tabernacled >> in Christ Jesus. You know God Almighty, he loved Jesus so much. He loved Jesus so much. He loved him so much. In the 19th verse of chapter one in the book of Colossians, the Bible says, "For it pleased the Father, that in him, Jesus Christ, in him should all fullness dwell." >> Amen. >> It pleased God the Father, that in Christ Jesus should all fullness dwell. He is everything. So when you have Christ, and when we say to people, "When you have Christ, you got everything," they think we're just making, you know, some religious cliches. You know, they, they don't understand this stuff. This is for real. >> When you are in Christ, you are at home. >> You, you have arrived. >> The struggle is over. >> You understand what I'm talking about? >> The confusion is over. >> You have arrived. Arrived. >> You have come home. >> The journey has ended. >> When I, when I find Christians who are, who are unhappy, restless, and and troubled, I think like, oh, I would to God they would understand the scriptures. I wish you would know who you really are. Look at the next verse. Chapter 2, verse 10. "And ye." Look at it right there. >> Let me read it from verse 9 into verse 10. So you can catch it. I want you to know why. Born again. After you're born again, listen to me. Everything that the devil did in your life is put to a stop. >> You should know. >> You should know. >> You should know that you have found your way out of your trouble. You have found your way out of your crisis. >> You should know >> the solution has come. The answer has come. >> Now you can really smile. Now you can really laugh. Now you know you are a success. You are a victor. You know it. >> I just know. Can you tell somebody, "I just know." >> "I just know." >> "I know." Hallelujah. >> Hallelujah. >> I said hallelujah. >> Look at it. >> Let me read from verse 9 into verse 10. "For in him Christ Jesus, in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily." You understand? Yeah. The fullness of the Godhead is encased in Jesus. >> Then he says, "Hello brothers and sisters, what about you?" Verse 10. >> "And ye are complete." >> Amen. >> Let me tell you what this means. I want to calm down and and tell you what it means. When it says, "And ye are complete." It means in your life now that you're in Christ Jesus, nothing is not in you that should have been there. >> Hey, come on. Did you catch that? >> Nothing is missing. >> And there is nothing in you that should not be there. >> You are absolutely complete. Another version says, "Ye are perfected >> in him." Perfected. >> Now, you're like a baby. >> Like I told you yesterday, a baby's trying to walk, not yet walking. Just because the baby is not yet walking doesn't mean it's not a full human being. >> He's as much a human being as the parents are, >> but it's not yet walking. Maybe he's still creeping on all fours like a dog, but he's a human being. He's just growing and from one stage to another. Hallelujah. You understand what? >> In the Bible, it says as we behold the glory of God in a mirror, we are metamorphosed. Hallelujah. [Applause] That means we are changed >> from one state >> to another. >> He says, "We with open face >> beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, we are changed." >> He says, "As we look, we are changed. As we look, we are changed." If I have been creeping, watch this. If I have been creeping and I set my gaze on the word of God, the more I look, the more I stand. The more I look, the more I stand on the Lord God. Listen, listen. If financially >> I have been creeping, >> then I say, "Lord, who am I financially?" >> Then Papa God shows me the mirror again. >> He says, "Son, look here." >> And I'm creeping financially. Then I look. As I look, I stand. I stand. As I say, Hallelujah. [Applause] Are you still there? You understand what I'm talking about? >> Oh, glory to God. >> The children of Israel had been bitten by serpents. >> They were dying, dying, dying, dying. The Bible says by the thousands they died. Moses said, "Oh God, what do I do? The people are dying." God said, "Moses, >> make a brazen serpent." >> He said, "Raise it up on a pole." >> And then he says, "And announce to the people. Look." >> If you can only look, >> all you have to do is look. Some said, "I can't look." >> They remained where they were. >> He said, "Look." >> That's the same thing he shows us today. >> He says, "As we behold the glory of God in a mirror, we are transfigured."
