So many different theories on why, or how, or who uh murdered, assassinated Charlie Kirk. The uh the motives behind it. It's it's so interesting.
So you have, you have the side of the mainstream media, who their narrative is like, "Well, we just really don't know the the motives, you know, behind this." And then you have, um, Cash Patel and the agencies that are involved are saying, "Hey, the the, um, alleged shooter was in, in a relationship with someone who was transitioning from male to female, and and that there's a lot of evidence there that, uh, there was a hatred towards Charlie Kirk because he, he, uh, exposed or preached against the LGBTQ+ community." Um, so you have that group.
And then you have another group of like Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson, uh, locally, um, Eric Mutos and and others who would blame MSAD or Israel, and and specifically MSAD, uh, for the killing, murder, assassination of of Charlie Kurt. Um, and there's other, there's others there. There's many other theories out there, but those are, I would say, those are the main three that are getting, you know, the the the main traction.
Um, I'll, I'll, here's, here's what I think. Uh, I, I think that, and I've been pretty consistent with this, I think from from the get-go, is is this is, um, the big picture of Antifa, Black Lives Matter, any disruptive uh, force out there, uh, that's that's promoted by the evil designs of men, conspiratorials, uh, conspirators, um, um, secret combinations that want the destruction of good. And I really do think that, uh, uh, Charlie Kirk is a, is a, a martyr for for Jesus. And and when the the Bible is spoken of, when when scriptures are quoted, when Jesus's name is mentioned, you are going to be a target because of the of this ideology of of evil. Uh, and it's pure evil. And so th this might not be a specific, uh, uh, you know, Gadanton organization, but more of a big picture of of any destroying anything that's good, and especially if, if they're effective, and especially if they're effective among younger people, because that's really where the change occurs. The church is no different in the sense that it, it, um, focuses more on the youth and young adults than it would older people, because that's the future. And and so the devil's going to do the same thing. Focus on on the younger people. And you can see, you can see this happening. So this has been evolving.
Um, my, my fear, my fear is that, and my concern, uh, maybe concern more than fear, because I, I'm not really, I don't live in fear. I don't, um, so fear was the wrong word I used. But my concern is is that the church as a corporation and organization, uh, has placed themselves in a, in a, because you're in a, a corporation and a certain tax situation and a certain, um, uh, entity that makes things difficult to just preach the gospel. You, you also have another set of rules that that you're, uh, having to adhere to to keep the 501c3, I think it is, and the, and, and, you know, this corporate status. So certain things have to be, um, looked at from a legal standpoint, from a public relations standpoint.
Now, a couple of, uh, comments on my channel indicated that in Utah, that the state presidents and bishops were told, "Don't talk about Charlie Kirk at at a church." And I, I didn't want to mention that, and because I had heard that, and so I wanted to verify it. And I verified it, and that's absolutely true. It was the Utah area presidency that contacted state presidents and bishops and said, "As leaders, don't be bringing up Charlie Kirk. Don't, don't bring up anything. Don't talk about it. Don't, don't, don't say anything. Don't give your opinion on anything, and, and just keep it on the down low." I don't have the exact verbiage of that. I wish I did. If someone has a copy of that, I think it'd be good to see. I think this is a, this is what I'm talking about, this corporate kind of, uh, feel to like, you know, we don't want to make waves. Now, we had the same kind of feel with with the the, uh, the outbreak, the the co situation. We had the same kind of feel of, "Well, we've got to protect missionaries. We've got to protect, try to keep the temples open and churches and da da da," which, you know, keeping the temples and the churches open didn't really work, no matter how much they, you know, caved into that. But, but it, it, it, some explanations are are really similar, and it has that kind of kind of feel of like, we don't want to make waves.
I do think we as members of the church, and and it's our church too, right? That we, we should be able to speak openly in classes about these things. Now, sacrament meeting. Um, I, I, I don't know if that would be the place. Um, but personally, it wouldn't, I would love it. But, but I, I could see an argument to keep things focused on the Savior. But to be honest with you, talking about camp and this and scout, not scouts anymore, but young men's camp and young women's camp and co- uh, co-ed camps on and on and on, talking about, you know, family history and doing this and doing that in sacrament meeting, you know, I'm not a big fan of that either. So, you know, I, I get the sacrament. But in Sunday school, priesthood, Relief Society, all that kind of stuff, I would think that that that his the shooting, the murder, the assassination on a, which appears to be someone who is a member of our faith that committed that crime. Um, and, and, and, and in the probably the most LDS per capita community in the world, ORM, Utah, this is where this happened. This is this is big, guys. This is big. And and Charlie Kirk was having a huge influence for good among so many young people. And and to just pretend that that didn't happen. Uh, I don't know. It's, it's a very frustrating thing.
Okay. So, that's just, I, I'm not going to get into the weeds of of why and who and how. I just think it's so evil and and Luciferian in every way, uh, that this happened, and it, it should be a great wakeup call.
Some people, uh, suggested that, uh, on on the channel that Charlie Kirk was, uh, in a sense, a prophet, as we look at prophets in scripture, both Book of Mormon and the Bible. Someone who just, you know, shows up, goes into the heart of the church, and says, "You Mormons, you got to get your mojo back. You got to repent. You got to, you got to get on board." Um, one of the the big things that Charlie Kirk, uh, really pounded was was the horrific act of abortion. And I, I think that was so good that he did that. We've covered that topic on this this channel a lot. And, and you'll get, you know, that's one of the reasons I got off Facebook is some of our, uh, younger missionaries that we served with when we presided over a mission. On Facebook, we, we would, you know, tackle some of these things, and we'd have missionaries just like yelling at us saying, "You don't know what you're talking about. This is up to the woman to decide," and blah, blah, blah. And, you know, I just went, I, I'm getting off Facebook. I'm not doing it. Um, and also the the jab and the mask and things like that, you know. So, um, I just do this YouTube instead and just defend him that way.
But, um, but Charlie was really good with that, and also, uh, attacking these these dead-end relationships that, uh, are they represented by the alphabet, that there's no root nor branch there. There is no procreation. There's no, there's nothing. It's just dead. And these people that are so entangled in these different lifestyles, you can, you can see it in them. You can, you can see it in them. And Charlie would call it out, and not be, not be like personal to the individual, but, but what they're doing, you know, it was, it was more that like the sin, you know, versus the sinner. But he was open to, to the, the, the debate on it. And he was, he was so good.
Anyway, okay. I wanted to bring up something that I thought, um, was, and this is in Come Follow Me. Um, you know, you, you have things come up that that, uh, give you pause in scripture, and you're like, "Hmm," and then a little while later, you read another scripture, and it answers it. I, that happens to me all the time. Connor Boyak did a, a musing on the the, uh, the parable of the nobleman that's in section 101 that we just covered last week. And the answers came in in section, I think it's 103, and we'll go through that. It's so cool. Um, incidentally, many of you referred to Connor Boyak's, uh, it's like he and I did virtually, well, I had a little different take, not different, but just added take on on, uh, Charlie Kirk, but his musing from last Sunday was excellent. So, thank you for bringing that up. That was good. I got a chance to listen to that, and it was, the guy's amazing. I, I really enjoy, um, how he presents things.
Okay, so I'm going to read this this this parable of the nobleman from last week's reading. It's in section 101. And I'll start in verse 43. "And now I will show unto you a parable that you may know my will concerning the redemption of Zion." The redemption of Zion. This is this is a big deal, right? And this is the parable that's going to explain. And this is so interesting. It gives so many insights. "A certain nobleman had a spot of land, very choice. And he said unto his servants, 'Go ye into my vineyard, even upon this very choice piece of land, and plant 12 olive trees.'" 12 olive trees. "And set watchmen round about, round about them, and build a tower that one may overlook the land round about, to be a watchman upon the tower, that mine olive trees may not be broken down when the enemy shall come to spoil and take upon themselves the fruit of my vineyard."
"Now the servants of the nobleman went and did as they, as their lord commanded them. And they planted the olive trees, and they built the hedge, and built a hedge round about, and set watchmen, and began to build a tower." So they started the whole process, and they finally got to where they were going to build the tower. Um, okay. Where was I here? "Now the servants went and did, okay. Yeah. And while they were yet laying the foundation thereof, they began to say among themselves, 'And what need hath my lord of this tower?'" So they did all the other things, but, but the tower was something that they just hadn't quite, uh, uh, been sold on yet, let's say. Um, they be, they, they began saying among themselves, "What need hath my lord of his tower? Seeing that this is a time of peace? Might not this money be given to the to the exchangers? For there is no need of these things?"
"And while they were at variance one with another, they became very slothful, and they hearkened not unto the commandments of their lord. And the enemy came by night and broke down the hedge. And the servants of the nobleman rose and were frightened and fled. And the enemies destroyed their works and broke down the olive trees."
"Now behold, the nobleman, the lord of the vineyard, called upon his servants, and said unto them, 'Why, what is the cause of this great evil? Ought ye not to have done even as I commanded you? And after ye had planted the vineyard, and built the hedge around, and set watchmen upon the walls thereof, and built the tower also, and set a watchman upon the tower, and watched for my vineyard, and not have fallen asleep, lest the enemy should come upon you. And behold, the watchman upon the tower would have seen the enemy while he was yet a far off. And then ye could have made ready and kept the enemy from breaking down the hedge thereof, and saved my vineyard from the hands of the destroyer.'"
"And the lord of the vineyard said unto one of his servants, 'Go and gather together the residue of my servants. Take all the strength of mine house, which are my warriors, my young men.' And you'll read about that in the verses of this week. And, and they that are middle-aged also among all my servants, who are of the strength of mine house, save those only whom I have appointed to tarry. And go ye straightway unto the land of my vineyard, and redeem my vineyard, for it is mine. I have bought it with money, and that's key. Bought it with money. Therefore, get ye straightway unto my land. Break down the walls of mine enemies, throw down their tower, and scatter their watchmen again. We'll read that in in the the reading of this week. And in as much as they have gathered together against you, avenge me of mine enemies, that by and by I may come with the residue of mine house and possess the land."
"And the servant said unto his lord, 'When shall these things be?' And he said unto his servant, 'When I will, go you straightway and do all the things whatsoever I have commanded you, and this shall be my seal and blessing upon you, a faithful and wise steward in the midst of mine house, a ruler in my kingdom.' And his servant went straightway and did all the things whatsoever the Lord commanded him. And after many days all these things were fulfilled. And verily I say unto you, I will show unto you wisdom in me concerning all the churches."
Okay, so that's basically the the parable, right? It's, uh, um, uh, concerning the, um, redemption of Zion. Now, if we go, if we go to section 103, this is so interesting because now we're, we're going to hear at least who the servants were. I think the nobleman, the lord of the vineyard is Jesus. The servants, and then you have watchmen. The servants are the ones that are supposed to do all this stuff. Now listen to this.
Okay, so this is section 103, verse 21. Now, somebody probably already covered this, and I'd missed it, but I've never, I never discovered this. This is a first for me. So maybe it might be a first for you. If you already knew it, or if you knew of someone who taught this in a Come Follow Me, or or even if Connor covered it and I missed it when he, he did it, let me know in the comments if this has already been discussed. But verse 21, section 103. "Verily, verily, I say unto you, that my servant Joseph Smith Jr. is the man to whom I likened the servant to whom the lord of the vineyard spake in the parable which I have given unto you." Joseph is the servant that screwed up. And what's the tower? This is my opinion. The tower is the temple. The tower is the temple. That's that that was the ultimate, um, gift, or or the ability to detect danger, to be to be, um, um, sanctified, uh, by the covenant in the temple. And the covenant is Jesus Christ. The new and everlasting covenant is Jesus Christ. I'm going to, I'm going to do another video specifically on what the new and everlasting covenant is according to, to, to scripture. And I'll cover all of it, uh, as, as near as I can. I, I won't be perfect, I'm sure. But, but I, I will cover the new and everlasting covenant in a, in a future video.
But, um, but Joseph is the one that screwed up, but then was the servant that finally got it done, right? Therefore, let my servant Joseph Smith Jr., I'm in verse 22 now, "say unto the strength of my house, my young men and my middle age, gather yourselves together." That's exactly what the parable said. "Into the land Zion upon the land which I have bought with money that has been consecrated unto me." There we go. The money purchasing and the purchasing is so key. We have some really good examples in the Old Testament of purchasing. Um, uh, in Hebron, you have the the tombs of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and their and their wives. Uh, and, and each has just one wife, uh, buried with them. Interesting, isn't it? Um, so Abraham purchased that. Uh, David, the threshing floor from Orni, the Jebusite. He was willing to give it to David. He said, "Just take it. It's yours." And David goes, "No, I'm going to purchase it. I'm going to spend money. It's going to." And, and that's significant because it becomes a, a covenant property when you do that, when you purchase it. So significant. And so, Joseph is that servant.
Now, how many, how many prophets do we know of that openly admit their their parable is about him screwing up and not doing what he should do, and then, and then everything else is about, "Get that temple built. Get that tower built." Now, that's just the tower part is is my, uh, personal, um, uh, explanation that it's the temple, but, but clearly Joseph is the servant that screwed up, questioned the Lord of the vineyard, "Why do I need to build the tower?" And so, that had to happen so that the Savior could show up quickly to his temple, uh, keys could be restored, all the wonderful things that happened in Kirtland, and, and the, the cloud, uh, during the day and the pillar of fire at night, just as Moses, uh, traveling in the wilderness with the children of Israel. And, and then we have this, um, this blessing and cursing, which ties totally into Moses, and then later Joshua entering the promised land, the, the land of, and, and getting into Shechem, and, and then the, the mountain of blessing, the mountain of cursing. And, "As in as much as mine enemies," this is verse 24 and 103, "come against you to drive you from my goodly land, that's also in there, which I have consecrated to be the land of Zion, even from your own lands, after these testimonies which have been brought before me against them, ye shall curse them, and whomsoever ye curse, I will curse, and ye shall avenge me of mine enemies." So, so good. And, and the avenging is, is can be interpreted in, in so many different ways. Um, but ultimately, it's the building of the tower, or the temple, which, which is the, the ultimate in protection for the saints.
Verse 36, "I love, and victory and glory is brought to pass unto unto you through your diligence, faithfulness, and prayers of faith." So, uh, there's other places where it talks about this. So we know for sure that the, that the parable, now, who, who would the watchmen be, and, and the 12 trees? This is the organization of the church, uh, the apostles. You have the traveling apostles spoken of. Then you have the, the permanent, or the, the stationary, uh, 12, the high council, if you will, and then the traveling 12. And, uh, you have the, which is really interesting to me, because the, the setup of of how to, um, have a disciplinary council, and, you know, you have six and six. You have, uh, six members of the high council, or the 12 would be thinking, and have the thought process of representing the church, making sure the church is is, um, protected, the integrity of the church, if you will. And then the other six would be looking out for the individual who is accused or coming forth that that has done something wrong, that they're, that they are, uh, protected, or their integrity is, is protected. And, and when I presided over a stake and stake president, as stake president, this is how it was handled. Now, for some reason, it, that all got changed, and, and they don't have those anymore. From what I hear, it's, it's either a Bishopric handles disciplinary council, three men, or it's, it's the stake presidency, three men, that, that handled the disciplinary council. So, I don't understand the change on that, because it, it was, you know, the basis was here. Um, but it, it was changed, and I, I can't, I can't answer as to why. Um, I don't know if there, you know, was a, a revelation given, uh, that I missed. I, I just, I just don't know.
Anyway, uh, back to Joseph Smith. You know, there, there have been LDS podcasters, you've heard them, I'm sure, who have said, you know, "I have no problem with Joseph Smith lying. He, he, he would lie to protect individuals, to protect the church, and, and, and lie, you know, publicly say one thing, lie, um, privately, or, or, excuse me, he would publicly say one thing, but it was a lie to protect what he said privately." That's probably a better way to say that. Uh, there's no indication, and this is another one, that Joseph had that in his, in his being. If, if he was called out to be, uh, a dirt bag, a servant, and didn't fulfill what the Lord of the vineyard asked him to do, it, he said it. He wrote it down. Now, the Lord said it, but Joseph didn't go, "I'm not going to write that because that kind of slams me." He wrote it down. I don't know the last time I've, I've heard a, a prophet, a Latter-day Prophet, actually say, "I'm that servant that screwed up. I'm that servant that did that." Um, th this is good stuff. I love the Kirtland era. Um, of course, then this gets into, uh, Zion's camp and going to Missouri and all that, but I, I'm not going to talk about that. But I, I just, I just thought this insight about the parable tying it to Joseph being that servant.
The noblemen on the wall would be, in, in my opinion, would just be individuals that are looking, watching, and having the ability to do that because they're from an elevated place. They're either on top of the hedge, or they're on top of the, the tower, the temple. They're in the temp, and they're, they have that ability. Well, without the tower, you can't, you can't see that. So, I don't, I, I think we're all watchmen. That's how I feel. We're all watchmen, and all need that ability. The servants were really given the charge to do everything. And, and the 12 trees, olive trees, I think, are the, the organization of the church, the 12, uh, uh, the, the apostleship, uh, and all that was destroyed because they didn't have the temple. Pretty interesting. Or the tower. And again, that's, that's my interpretation.
Uh, okay, I think that's it for this video. Um, you know, we are living in the times that have been prophesied of. This is the, with with Charlie Kirk, with tornadoes in Utah, with all kinds of fires and floods, horrific floods in Texas that I still can't wrap my head around that all those children that were killed in Texas and families. Um, you, the news, the news cycle is so rapid. This is what's prophesied in diverse places, different places, these things are going to happen. And the reason it's significant for today is that we know about it. Not that many years ago, if something happened in another country, we wouldn't know about it for months and months, if not years. And, and if you go back a little further, you might not never know about it. You may never know about it. Now we have instant, it's just instant. We hear, we know, we see, um, and, and that's the fulfillment of of these events taking in taking place in diverse places, different places. And, and we know about it. That's what makes it real, and, and we're living in that in real time.
Um, I suspect the Savior's going to come pretty soon. Um, if, if I had to pick a date, I would say 2030. Um, no man knows the hour or the day, but, but the timing, or the, the conditions of that coming, uh, we know about, and we should be watching and looking. We should be the good man of the house that's that's checking the locks and being secure and knowing what's going on, because we don't want to be surprised and, and have the Savior show up as a thief in the night. We, we want to go, "Yeah, everything is, everything is fulfilled, and there we go."
The last thing I want to just talk about is how excited I am to get back to Israel and, and Egypt, Jordan. I cannot wait for this trip. It's being in the Middle East where all these things happen, and, and in, in a big sense, Egypt is part of the Holy Land because Christ, wherever he was, he, he's the one that made it holy, and he was in Egypt. And so, we're going to discover, uh, Egypt on this trip. We're going to discover, uh, spend the bulk of the time obviously in, in Israel, and, and then end in Jordan, uh, which has some huge significance. Uh, uh, it's just the Bedouin people there, the, the Nabateans, are just the most delightful people, and the, and the things to see there. I'm so excited. I, I don't know if it's too late. I don't know if it's full. Um, but you can check with Legacy Tours and see, um, if this is something you would like to do. Um, the February one, I think, is full, but you can get on a waiting list. That will just be Israel. That one will be just Israel. And then next year, next fall, uh, we'll be doing, um, uh, an extensive trip, uh, in, in Egypt. Sue and I will be on that trip, and we'll stay there. Um, and then, and then there'll be a separate trip to Israel, and then we'll, we'll be there for that. You don't have to do both of them, because they're, they're both quite extensive, but, um, but we're going to be, um, on that, on those, those trips, and I'm so looking forward to it. Um, we, these are life-changing trips. They really are. And the things that we get to see, and feel, and talk about, and open up the scriptures as we, as we are in these places, it, it just, it just brings it to life. If you've traveled, uh, to the church historical sites, you, you, you know exactly what I'm talking about. If you have been to Israel, um, I would suggest that maybe it's time to go again. Uh, these, um, these seeing, feeling, smelling, tasting, everything, it, it, it just solidifies the things you already know are true.
So, yeah, I'm, I'm, I'm hoping so much that, um, incidentally, just while I'm thinking about Chris Kimell, she is going to be the for next year, next year in the fall, she's going to be with us. She is so good, especially in Egypt and Israel. We've been with her to Israel. Uh, I'm so looking forward to being with her next year to Egypt. Um, her, her knowledge, her understanding, the temple significance, and all these places. Yeah, Chris Kimell, she's great. She spoke at the, uh, Fern Foundation conference. She's awesome.
Anyway, that's it for this video. God bless. We'll talk to you soon. Bye-bye.
