[Music] Developing fullness of Life by culturing the nervous system to maintain unbounded awareness. [Music]

How many of you have the following experience? You're meditating for 10 minutes, and then somebody comes and interrupts you. You come out of meditation, and then you begin meditating after a minute of interruption—you know, the telephone call, or closing the window, or scratching—I don't know what. You begin to meditate again, and you have the feeling of going deeper in meditation. Would you raise your hands? And just that's what it is. You see the significance of the nervous system. You meditate and go to silence, come to activity, and now you are doing it 15, 20 minutes—cycles in and then out, and then in and then out, and in and the out, out in makes the mind livelier, livelier; and a livelier mind cognizes much finer, both ways. It's very good that that that Lively Silence has a chance to enter into the field of activity, and this gives the nervous system a habit of acting in a lively manner, yet having that value of the silence which is eternity. More and more practice goes, and this is how Cosmic Consciousness grows, very spontaneous; and this growth is just the culture of the physical structure, culture of the nervous system. It keeps itself alternating between these two styles of functioning: one style of functioning when the mental activity is becoming less and less; another style of functioning when one is wide awake in activity. Just this alteration—this is important. It's beautiful. Yes. Each mode enhances the other. Each each mode of action; each mode of action—that's each mode of action. The thing is, the very nature of life has two components: silence and activity; and the beauty is that both are together. Both are together, just like the the sap and the red petal; colorless sap and the red petal. Wherever is the red, there is the colorless sap; wherever there is activity, there is that non-active it of the unmanifest. That's what we say: the unmanifest absolute being is only presentent in one stroke we say, but when we analyze it, what we find it: every fiber of manifestation, just like this, every fiber of the of the petal is just nothing but sap—unmanifest, colorless sap and manifest, colorful petal. Both are together. This this is the structure of Life; both are together: activity, non-activity. They exist together. As long as our nervous system is not cultured, so long we can get to activity and be unaware of that non-activity; and when we get to non-activity, we are unaware of activity. This is meditation; waking and transcending—this transcending business is just because the nervous system is not cultured; it's it has not gained fullness of life. When the nervous system gains fullness of life, every aspect of the physical is vibrating into that Divine eternity; every aspect of the physical has then Lively impulse of that Divine eternity, and this is then fullness of Life. Both are together spontaneously: eternity, futility; change, non-change; manifest, unmanifest; both are at the same time, at the same time. Now it depends on to what area our awareness is open; to what area of our awareness is open. One mark: it has a cloth shop and this and this grocery shop. Depends upon where we stand and what we want to to to to be with: all the gross structure of creation, subtle structure of creation, muscular level, molecular level, Atomic level, subatomic level, and then unmanifest level. Consciousness, Consciousness; energy, matter; matter, gross energy, subtle Consciousness, transcendental. Now that which is Transcendental Consciousness is permeating all the aspects of its own manifestations. Energy is nothing but Consciousness, just as matter is nothing but energy. One is just—the ultimate fundamental is emed in all its manifestations, just as the sap is emed in all its manifestations, whether it's green leaf or this. So the cause is woven into the structure of the effect; the cause, the ultimate cause, is woven into the structure of the effect, and the effect is manifesting in different degrees—that unmanifest manifesting in different degrees. At one time it's absolute silence, not exhibiting any quality of either energy or matter; and when starts to exhibits energy, infinite creativity on that b line of when the manifestations start, and as the manifestation become bigger and bigger and bigger, more and more fields of manifest energy, and then uh the energy gives rise to matter. It's just the sequence of development in the process of creation. This also is called Evolution, Evolution, Evolution; inward uh March of our awareness to Fathom more and more fields of unmanifest creation, and eventually come to the pure and manifest being. This also is called uh Evolution, whether we meditate and fathom the infinite straight away, we call it Evolution; or whether we start bringing the value of that in infinity and manifest into the field of activity and become more creative and more successful, accomplish all that we want, is all also we called Evolution. So this we have to alternate: take our awareness from one field of activity through the subtle activities to that unmanifest and bring back—just this swinging from activity to meditation to the Transcendent and from Transcendent to the meditation. This swinging, this practice is needed only because the nervous system, as it is, it's not habituated to have both contained in it all the time. When we are out, then we are out; when we are in, then in. But right from the beginning of meditation we begin to feel that before starting meditation one was worried and more of chaos. This this one slide diving, one slight peep into that area that has taken the activity of the nervous system to that refined value where that silence can be Lively and that silence can be associated with the physical structure. This is what meditation is: modifying the activity of the nervous system so that the nervous system may become familiar with that field of pure unmanifest infinite we call Consciousness. And then then we bring it back again so that whatever value the nervous system has gained in its in its in its functional capacity in that state, that may be retained; to whatever degree it is retained, at least its influence be retained in the beginning, and then we come to activity, and then the activity is a little bit more livelier, little bit more lively; and then we take the activity of the nervous system again to that style of activity where that Lively and that silence is enlivened again. Enlivened means brought to our awareness. It is only our awareness. What is happening is we are gaining knowledge, taking our awareness to that—nothing is happening; nothing, nothing absolutely is happening that has not already happened in the structure of Life. All the structure of life is Manifest and unmanifest. Now we talk in terms of taking our awareness there and bringing our awareness there. We talk in terms of this just for our understanding, just for the sake of understanding; otherwise the reality of life is that wherever there is activity, there is non-activity emed in it, even on the surface of the red, the colorless sap is present. Every fabric of red is nothing but colorless sap, and both are existing together; only the colorless being transparent, it is not seen. What is seen is the the the the color which is opaque. Manifest area of life is more opaque, being more concrete. Manifest, unmanifest being transparent, it be it is it is there, but it's not cognized. For its cognition what we need is improved value of perception. Improved value of perception. This improved value of perception we develop by exposing the functioning of nervous system to that kind of functioning. Ordinary functioning of nervous system is modified to gain that style of functioning where that transparent absolute becomes our direct cognition; and when our awareness opens to that over and over again, then even on the surface of life it is cognized in its full value; and the result is that that transparent is cognized and that which reflects it, the surface value of the Manifest, is cognized both at the same time. We can imagine a glass here, right here: glass, and then the the the the P is seen from behind the glass, and the glass is transparent. Now at the first shot we see the FL FL whenever when we are able to see the the the very fine structure of the flow very fine, then suddenly we realize, oh, this is that transparent glass also here. Just like that that om presentent layer of life—it's not a layer, it's wholeness of life—just as the sap is not a layer, it is it is there in every layer, upper and and lower and inner and outer, everywhere; everything is nothing but the SA. Like that being is there: Bliss, infinite, absolute, nonchanging, there permeating it—wholeness. And in this wholeness, what we don't appreciate, that what we don't appreciate is that wholeness. We have to culture our nervous system, and human nervous system can be cultured, and we know how magically, most spontaneously, without any doing, Transcendental Meditation cultures our nervous system. It sets itself, keeps on resetting and resetting and resetting, unless until the setting reaches that level where direct cognition of that transparent layer of being, pure Consciousness, becomes our cognition; and when it becomes our cognition, we find that it is in terms of our own being. When we find it not as something separate, as has been our experience so far—that whatever we experience, we experience there and there and there and there and there—experience of that unmanifest being is so intimate, it is in terms of ourselves. The experiencer is that when the experience is that, it is most intimate to life; it is life. And when we find that the functioning of nervous system is more and more accustom to that to that pure awareness, then later on what we find is that every impulse of activity is the impulse of that being; every impulse of that activity is nothing but being. When we are able to cognize this sap here, what we find: our cognition develops into the into the perception of this petal being nothing but sap. Once we know that the sap is here, once we have seen the sap clear, sa; second step is that all this colorful thing, this is is all the differences, they are nothing but the uh differences imbibed in the very quality of the colorless nondifferent sap. When the nervous system gains that style of functioning where that pure being is, where that pure being is in the waking and dreaming and sleeping—when the n system is functioning in this way, it is waking; when it is functioning in this way, dreaming; when it is functioning in this way, it is sleeping. So in these three styles of functioning we don't get that cognition of the transparency of being. The nervous system starts to function in a different way: fourth style of functioning of nervous system; fourth style of functioning of nervous system produces that awareness of the transparent unmanifest being. This fourth style of functioning of nervous system is so soothing to the whole structure of the uh Machinery of perception; it's so soothing, the the nervous system wants to maintain that style of functioning because motivated by the force of evolution—that which is responsible for the for the for the for the birth of this nervous system—that force of evolution Delights in finding this style of functioning where the infinity is lived in daily life, where every every mode of activity, every mode of activity is nothing but an Impulse of that transparent unmanifest eternity, Infinity. When Infinity finds life, when it breathes in individuality, then the purpose of evolution is complete. Look at the almighty and omnicient which has brought the infinity unbounded to pulsate in the boundaries, Eternal Freedom Dan is in the limitations of life. This is life, and human nervous system has that ability. Most important thing is the human nervous system has that ability where Infinity can dance on the individual level, and this is just a way to to get to that state. What we are doing in meditation is culturing our nervous system to to establish that mode of activity more and more and more and more until that mode of activity, that mode of activity of nervous system not only has that transparent value of being, but holds that in spite of all action, activity exchanges. This is this is the entire purpose; the whole purpose of training is to get the nervous system which is the machiner of perception, Machinery of action—through this machinary life is lived. Life is lived means that eternity becomes a living reality. When that—here is a possibility, here is a possibility for that Infinity to become a a reality of day-to-day life; and the whole procedure is so systematic because it is conducted by that Almighty power which is omn at the same time when it is omnipotent, that omniscient, all knowing, all knowing breath of the Eternal Divine which is responsible for the manifestation of whole life; when that overtakes life, then life is capable of being lived in its fullness; eternity is lived in in every impulse of daily life. Just a matter of culturing that. So nothing happens; absolutely nothing happens other than we begin to know the entire mechanics of creation; we begin to know to such an extent that we know it so intimately; we know the entire mechanics of evolution and Creation in terms of ourself. The whole mechanics of creation is there between the self and the and the and the muscular phase of Life: the self, absolutely unmanifest being, and then the manifestations begin: the ego, the intellect, the mind, the senses and the body, the environment, the whole universe. This is this is just the the display of manifestation of life, that Oneness of life, just like just like the sap manifesting in a leaf, in a petal, in this in this different different qualities, but the sap in itself is qualityless. So every every fiber of creation tells the whole story of the creation of the Creator and all that lies between them. Every particle of of of of matter has that energy within it, and every phase of energy has that unmanifest Consciousness within it. So what we are doing is opening our awareness to all these different areas of life; and the Very process of opening our awareness to these different areas of life builds up the ability on the physical level of nervous system. The nervous system becomes capable of visualizing that from the from the grosses through the sub to the unmanifest, brings the value of the unmanifest right on the surface of of of of creation and manifestation. This whole this Hess of life and the the almightyness of the Almighty we find in in shaping the structure of life such that completely two contradictory things—light and darkness—found together, all Ever Changing in the midst of never changing, and never changing in the midst of ever changing; and that becoming a reality on every level: gross or subtle or Transcendent, every level. So fullness of life is capable of being lived. All these various uh tests of what happens on the physical when uh the nervous system takes a particular style of functioning: what happens, what chemistry, what radiations, what changes, what modifications—this we are we are capable of measuring, thanks to the development of physics and all the instrument that there are. This knowledge of life, this knowledge of life from the gross to the subtle to the Transcendent, and the whole structure being brought to be lived on the Practical level of life based on the initial capacity of human Constitution, human nervous system—the whole thing is there. The whole thing is there. The nervous system has that ability already. The credit goes to education which opens the awareness to these regions and makes them clearly cognized: all the inner and outer, and the whole the whole system is so formulated that just by opening our awareness to these regions on the mental level, gaining awareness of this innermost unmanifest transparent pure Consciousness, the physical nervous system gains that habit of holding it on to that particular style of functioning; and this is most remarkable that the nervous system is trained, and this is training, and the system is without training, with without any forcing, without it; still we call it training because the pattern has to be repeated this way and that way and that way and that way—automatic training, automatic training. And uh our system, we are all grateful to gurudev for all this great gift to humanity. Now at this hour of human civilization that such natural, such natural, such systematic procedure of opening our awareness to that whereby the whole mind gets trained, the entire mind gets stained.
