These are great days and we want to live up to the commitment that is needed to bring service delivery in the area of bringing the council of God in this opportunity of the teaching ministry that God has given us.
We started a discussion the last time and it was on the subject the gold head or the godhead in a new product doctrine and balance teaching and balance. And that's why we have the four gospels looking at Jesus from four different dimensions. That's the theory of balance. It's not three gospels. It's standing on four legs. So it's balanced. Now if truth is not balanced, we give occasion for deception to thrive. We give occasion for false patterns to be established. And that's why we need to clarify the objects of truth captured in the teaching ministry. So we began the first edition the last time and right now I would like to continue from where I stopped. We looked at Mammon, the angel of commerce, and that Mammon was going to operate through in the end time administration of dominion and control. And the system that will be adopted is the Babylonian fiscal system, which is the gold system. It is therefore needful for me to bring to your notice the emphasis in the book of Deuteronomy chapter 8 beginning from verse number seven.
For the Lord thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks, of water, of fountains and depths that springs out of valleys and hills. A land of wheat and valley and vines and fig trees and pomegranates. A land of oil of olive and honey. A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarcess. Thou shall not lack any thin it. A land whose stones are iron, and out of whose heels thou mayest dig brass, when thou hast eaten, and a full when thou shalt bless the Lord thy God for the good land which he has given thee. Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God in not keeping his commandments and his judgments and his statutes which I command thee this day. Lest when thou hast eaten and are full, thou hast built goodly houses and dwelt therein. And when thy heads and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied, then thy heart shall be lifted up, and thou forget the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt from the house of bondage, who led thee through the great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, scorpions, and drought, where there was no water, who brought thee water out of the rock of flame, who fed thee in the wilderness with mana, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, that he might prove thee to do good at thy later end. And thou shalt say in thy heart my power and my might and my But remember the Lord thy God. For it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth that he may establish his covenant which is what unto thy fathers as it is this day. Hallelujah.
Now you see God is a good God. God wants his people to prosper. God doesn't have any trouble giving you material blessings, financial blessings, blessings in measures of influence, blessings in measures of grace. He he doesn't have any business any trouble with blessing his people. But if you notice the reading that I did here, there are three charges that God gives his people. The first charge is in verse number 14 from 13. You will be able to see the emphasis. And when thy heads and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver, and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou has is multiplied, then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the Lord thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. The first possibility that God wants us to beware of is a possibility of our heart being lifted up that is a vanity that is connected to material possessions. Now you must understand that the Bible says that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. So it is possible for a preacher to preach and teach out of a heart that is lifted up because of the abundance of things that is about and around him. And we must have a code of discernment by which we can figure out what is speaking. Is this the Lord that is speaking through him? Or it is a heart that is lifted up on the account of the vanity derived from material possessions that is instigating the utterances that is coming forth. That's the first charge. The second charge is in verse no first charge is in verse 11. Second charge in verse 14. Third charge in verse number 17. So we have we have touched verse 14 which is a possibility of your heart being lifted up. Now we'll go to verse 11. He said, "Beware lest thou forget, beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God in not keeping his commandments and his judgments and statutes which I command thee this day." Now when you this is this is a delusion that material possession brings. God is saying I'm bringing you into the good land. I want to make life comfortable for you. I want to make you guys to be in good shape financially. That's my good will. It will not cost me anything. You can have it. However, however, do not allow the delusion that travels with material gain in so much that you are convinced that my statutes, my commandments, my laws, my judgments are no longer relevant material to govern your life. He said, "Beware lest you turn your heart away from government." So the instruments mentioned in verse 11, judgment, statutes, commandments are instruments of government. God is governing you through his commandments. He's governing you through his judgments. Is governing you through his statutes. He said, "Beware because there will be a temptation." This these activities that he is warning us about is what happens to a man that is beginning to to bow to the gold head and mammon. The angel of commerce is already seeping into his soul and manipulating him from his soul. It says beware because material possessions have a vanity attached to it and your heart must be insulated from that vanity if you are going to be accurate. So he said do not turn your heart away from my government because you'll be seduced to do that. There is an autonomy. There is a self-sufficiency, there's a feeling of arrival that accompanies material possessions. And if you allow it to lock in your soul and you forget your place and you forget the place of God and his government governing instruments over your life, you will become cheap prayer. So that's the first point he brings. The second point he brings is a possibility of your heart being lifted up. I knew people that were more loyal to God, more faithful to God until they began to accumulate material possession. Their heart left God, but they were still preaching. And their preaching was no longer leading men to God. They were victims of material possession. God warned about these possibilities in his word. He said, "I don't have problems making you more comfortable. I don't have problems making you ride in a jet from city to city. I don't have problems if your heart can be insulated from the vanity that accompanies it." I don't have any problems. Can you manage it? Can you steward it? All right. So the third the third charge is in verse 17. But in order for us to understand it, I'll begin the reading from verse number 16. Who fed thee in the wilderness with mana, which thy fathers knew not of, that he might humble thee, that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy later end. So God took Israel through uncomfortable situations in order to preserve them. However, they've been brought into prosperity. He say, "And and thou say in thy heart, my power and the might of my hand has gotten me this word." It is possible when you hear there are several statements you might hear if it is suggestive of the fact that the arm of the flesh was responsible for the greatness that is seen in the natural mammon has already taken over. So in these three instances if we analyze it carefully you will find out the kind of utterances that can emerge from a heart of a man that is already a victim of the angel of commerce mama.
Meanwhile, just for the record, in the book of Deuteronomy chapter 8:18, the Bible reveals to us the proper way to deal with material wealth. There is a prescription and in that prescription there is a calling. Now, in in in Deuteronomy 8:18, the Bible says, "But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God." That's the first thing. Remember the Lord thy God for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth. It's not you but it is him. Why is he giving you the power to get wealth? So prosperity has a purpose that he may establish his covenant which he swear unto thy fathers as it is this day. So there's a purpose. There's a purpose for which he gave us the power to get wealth. Getting wealth is described as occasion by power. So when God gives you that power, it doesn't matter your intellectual knowhow or your skill, your dexterity, it is a power. And the reason why God gives humankind that power in any instance whatsoever is that he may establish his covenant. So it's a call to stewardship to make the proceeds of that power available so that God can have the opportunity to establish his covenant, his kingdom among men. his kingdom here on the earth. That is the purpose for which God gives that power. Now I would like to be diligent. I'd like to be very diligent to acquaint us with the sound of the voice of Mammon. First sound of the voice of mammon is the sound of ownership. When you hear a preacher in his attempt to preach probably on the subject of prosperity on any subject whatsoever and he begins to ascribe to himself ownership. Mammon has taken over because the call to prosperity is a call to stewardship and not ownership. I have you find someone uh uh trying to show you his jet trying to show you that okay he now drives in a Rolls-Royce. Such a person no longer has the attitude of a steward is the spirit of ownership that is at work. Whenever you see that know that what you are sitting under what you are listening to is not the voice of God. is a voice of someone that God used to use. But at that instant, he had given his vocal cord to the angel of God commerce to proclaim his priorities and his ways ownership. Now in Deuteronomy 8:17 where we read they say and thou say in thy heart my power and the might of my hand had gotten me this wealth. My power and the might of my hand has gotten me this wealth. There's always a sense of ownership. You know, I have three cars parked in the in the vault and you know, I just decided to check one of my accounts and it's it's a domiciliary account quoted in US dollars and it happens I I just realized it ran into the millions. All of that stuff is an advertisement of the gold head and is always done under the guise of some form of ownership in order to trigger the appetite of greed in the hearts of the hearers so that they can also be snared by the same angel of commerce. Ownership. Number two, the voice of achievement. The voice of achievement. Stewardship is humble. If you if you check what God did to them, we check what God did to them uh in order for them to have good in their later end. In the book of Deuteronomy chapter 8 verse number um 16 the Bible says who fed thee in the wilderness with mana which thy father knew not that he might humble thee that he might prove thee to do good to thee at thy later end to do good to thee. So you will see something like humble there. You will see something like prove there. He'll prove you. He will humble you so that you will not be overtaken by the pride that makes you advertise achievement. If you begin to advertise achievement, it means your soul has been possessed with mammon. And what is speaking through you is mammon. and mammon is causing you to speak from the realm of success. So you are no longer capable of abasing and abounding. You're trying to you know set up a portrait that is disjointed from the philosophy of scripture. The second thing that Mammon always emphasizing is achievement. The third thing and meanwhile I need to support that number two with a a scripture in the book of Jeremiah chapter 9. In Jeremiah chapter 9 verse 23 the Bible says for thus sayeth the Lord let not the wise man glory in his wisdom neither let the mighty man glory in his might. Let not the rich man glory in his riches, but let him that glorieth, glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord, which exercise loving kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, sayeth the Lord. Hallelujah. So the voice of achievement if it becomes consistent that when somebody is speaking the outlet through which the person communicates his burden is through um the tributary of achievements and accomplishments and and projects and it's mammon that is speaking. Number three, Mammon makes a preacher or a brother or sister derive a sense of security from things stockpiled. So the person derives his sense of security not from Christ but from his stockpile. Just like the foolish man in the book of Luke that had a great harvest and great stockpile of products and he he didn't see any possible danger in view and he said my soul it's time for you to be married. He security, his assurance was drawn from the stockpile of treasure that he had gathered. Such a man has been deceived by the angel of commerce. Number four, the deception that material things can fill the void of the human soul. the deception that material things can fill the void of the human soul. Whenever you hear someone trying to make it look as if the ultimate goal of the Christian faith is to make us prosper, make us have material possession. Whenever you hear that misplacement of priority, it is not the preacher that is speaking. It is the angel of commerce that is speaking through that preacher. That's the one of the the sounds you will hear when mammon is speaking. Number five, the deception that accumulation of treasure is the ultimate goal of the believer. That's also a sign of the proclamations of Mammon. And and many times um I hear this scripture being used erroneously and um many people are not aware that that scripture is in the section of the epistle that we call salutation. The scripture that says I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as thy soul prosperth. Now that scripture is within the salutation and if you check the body of the burden of the apostle in subsequent verses of scripture you will see that he has is not related to prosperity. And if you are diligent enough in your study to bring other translations and to read that scripture from other translations, you will find out that that scripture has nothing to do with material or financial prosperity. It was a scripture that was hoping that the recipient of the letter will be in wellbeing spirit, soul and body at the time of the arrival of the letter that was directed to him. A an edifice of teaching has come out of that misplaced interpretation of that scripture and uh trying attempting to make prosperity and material possessions the ultimate goal for a believer. It is contrary to the spirit of the scriptures. Um, prosperity is the result of alignment. The Bible says, "Seek you first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all other things shall be added unto you." The things that the Gentiles seek. It's it's it's to empower kingdom people to have the resources needed to prosecute the purpose of God that is on their lives. and the measures the measures God is willing to make available is to the extent to which um it is deployed to achieving God's objective and God's purpose. So anytime you hear prosperity without purpose, that is the sound of mammon. Number seven, I just mention number seven now. Prosperity without purpose. Number seven. So those are the seven indicators. And anytime you hear a preacher speak, look out for these seven symptoms. If you find it regularly in the preacher's presentation of what he calls his burden, just know that that preacher has been overtaken by mammon. And I may suggest that uh you emphasize more on preachers that care about the prosperity of your soul.
I I would like to show us some matters, some very heavy matters and I don't know how many of them I'll be able to uh capture within the framework of time that I have left. But I need to draw our attention quickly to these matters. And the first matter here is in the book of Job chapter 1. In the book of Job chapter 1 and I'll read from verse 8 to verse 12. This is the argument. This is the argument that Satan brought. The accusation that Satan brought against Job in the first encounter Satan had where the discussion about Job was raised. I'm going to show you what is difficult to see in scripture. scriptures that we normally read and rush over and never get to see. In the book of Job 1:8, the Bible says, "And the Lord said unto Satan, hast thou considered my servant Job that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and upright man, one that fearth God and is steward evil." Then Satan answered the Lord and said, "Oh, Job, fear God, for not? Hast not thou made a hedge about him? About his house, about all that he had on every side? Thou has blessed the work of his hands, and his substances increased in the land. But put forth thy hand now and touch all that he has and he will cost thee to the face." Now so you see there is a scope of spiritual covering that was available to Job and it's three-fold. There was a covering on Job. There was a covering on his house. And there was a covering on all Job had. And Satan's accusation was that Job was serving God because of the prosperity that God gave him. And that if God can touch his prosperity that Job will curse him to the face. So Satan even believes that devoted believers, people that are elders, deacons, pastors, apostles, bishops, prophets, leaders of ministries, general overseers, general superintendent. Satan believes that it is possible to be a leader of a ministry and be in the service of mammon. The reason why you are putting up appearances before God and doing something that looks like service to God is because your finances are in good shape. Satan believes that you can be in the height of spiritual responsibility and that your motivation for doing so can be material possession. That was the first accusation he brought against Job. So I need to ask you a question politely. Are you in the service of God because of what he has given you? And you you are about to change your mind and you are likely to change your mind if the circumstances change. A lady came the other day and said, "I'm not married. I'm 36 by the time go and tell your God to give me a husband before I'm 37 or
else." So she that's how that's how weak our Christianity is. The Christianity of things that we can get and and that is the case because of the wrong emphasis that has been made around material and financial possession for about 30 something years unchecked, unbalanced in the body of Christ, and it's becoming a monster, a huge monster that has the capabilities of diverting the the souls and the emphasis of men from Christ because Mammon has the same potential potential of demanding worship the same way God will demand worship. Why are you in his service?
Second, second scripture of concern is still in the book of Job. Job, this is the second time God is giving audience to Satan on the subject of Job. Job chapter 2, beginning from verse three. Job 2:3. And the Lord said unto Satan. So Satan carried out his test against Job in verse one. Touch his finances and saw that Job was still upright. So God was able to prove Satan wrong. And Satan requested for another meeting. He will bring the last shot against Job. God obliged him. And this was the discussion in the second meeting. And the Lord said unto Satan, "Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and upright man, one that feared God, and a steward evil. And still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movest me against him to destroy him without cause." And Satan answered the Lord and said, "Skin for skin. Yay, all that a man has will he give for his life. Put forth thy hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face." And the Lord said unto Satan, "Behold, he is in thy hand, but save his life."
Remember the three levels of spiritual covering. There was a covering around Job. There was a covering around what around his house. And there was a covering around what he had. So God removed the covering around what he had. And Job lost stuff. God removed even around his house. Job lost his children. Now God removed the one that protected Job's health. And now Satan began to afflict Job because Satan said everything that a man has he will give to save his life. So what Satan was saying that Job will be more committed to self-preservation if his life was in [Music] view. He will be more committed to self-preservation than his commitment to God. So Satan believes even though you are a pastor, a preacher, a founder of a ministry, a general overseer, he believes that you'll be more committed to self-preservation then you'll be committed to God. And so because of that, that's the same kind of temptation that Satan brought to Jesus through Peter. When Jesus began to speak about his his crucifixion, about his death. The Bible says that Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. What was Peter telling me? You will not do this to yourself. Peter was speaking with a voice of self-preservation. Satan said that we will know the devotion of the heart of Job the moment you touch his body because a man will give all that he has for the saving of his own skin. So the issue now is what is your motivation? You are breaking the principles of God so that you can amass some material possession in order to show that you are not failing. You're already a victim of self-preservation. That anyone that is going to serve God in truth must be spread out before his altar, living for his purposes, deriving his sense of self-esteem from his security in Christ Jesus and not from the abundance of things that he has.
Third scripture of concern I need to draw our attention to. I'm almost out of time. In fact, I am out of time, but I'll just drop this third scripture of concern. Then we'll come back to the next session where I'll be showing us stewardship. And there are so many layers of stewardship. And whether you like it or not, whether you know it or not, we've been called into stewardship. And some critical parables that Jesus gave were stewardship parables. We can't escape it. And part of the things that God will have us steward according to his purpose is financial and material resources. Meanwhile, before we go into that in the next session, I would like to introduce us to a burden which is in the book of Matthew. Matthew chapter 4. Matthew 4. Matthew 4:8-11. Again the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them and saith unto him all these things will I give thee if thou will fall down and worship me. This was the temptation that Satan brought the third temptation that Satan brought to to Jesus. It was about the kingdoms of this world and the glories of them. What's your pursuit? The glories of this world, the kingdoms of this world, you will worship the gold head. You will worship. Satan wants to demand worship. But the instrument with which he wants to seduce us to worship is the kingdoms of this world. The honor like being a president. The honor like being a senator. The honor that this world can give a man. The kingdoms of this world and the glories there are. How many of us are already slaves to the systems? Slaves. You were given employment and part of your job description is to tell lies consistently and they give it a name protecting the the public image of the organization. You are a slave of the glories of this world. You are doing that job at the expense of your faithfulness to Jesus. The kingdoms of this world and the glories thereof. Are you already caught up in the net? Are you already taken in the net? The kingdoms of this world and the glories thereof. I came to challenge somebody under the sound of my voice that you yourself know that in the state that you are, you compromised. You lost faith in God in order for you to do the things you did to get you where you are. And you want to repent and restitute that position so that your soul your soul will not be corrupted.
We dwell in strange times and Satan is projecting the glories and the kingdoms of this world and putting it on the face of men on Facebook, on Instagram, on eggs, YouTube, hoping to draw the attention of the desire that is deepseated in our soul and to enslave us thereby. I bring you this word with great love and great passion, hoping that your ears within will hear and that you will seek realignment with the God of heaven. Let us pray together. Father, look upon everyone under the sound of my voice, even such that are victims of this great entanglement, the kingdoms of this world and the glories thereof. Hearts are lifted. Hearts are corrupted with pride. We have turned away from thy statutes, their commandments, turned away from thy judgments. Lord, in the name of Jesus, I ask that you show us mercy that our hearts might be true to you. That we might resolve to reject material things because it is coming with corruption. Material things that you have not given us that Satan is offering us, the glories of this world, not the riches that you are offering us, but the riches that Satan is offering us. Give us the courage to reject it as we align with you and deliver us from every symptom of self-preservation so that our heart, our spirit, our soul, our mind and our body will be completely and wholly yours. Thank you, father, in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
So in the next session, I think it might be the final session on this doctrine of balance series, and we'll go back to our word of righteousness except the Lord opens one or two more emphasis that he wants me to talk about. Uh, it might be the last session and we'll look at stewardship or what we call prosperity but the most accurate biblical name for it is stewardship. We'll look at it. What is stewardship? How? What are the ways of a steward? And what are the things that God has given us to steward? And there is a scripture in the Bible which the average preacher will avoid to touch because of its complexity. It holds such truth. And during the course of the next session, I'm hoping that we'll be able to analyze that scripture and bring out the meat of the council of God that is there.
