My name is Bill Torella. I had a near-death experience in 1994 in Tucson, Arizona. I have a book named "The Ninth Level of Enlightenment: The Wisdom of the Light."
So I opened my own business, and that business took me all over the world. And that's how I wound up getting to Tucson, Arizona, because I was doing a gem show out there. There's a gem and jewelry show, and people actually from all over the world come.
But this, this time, you know, the cold and flu season is in, and people are coughing here and there. And I'm noticing this a lot. During the first couple of days, it was on the third day of the show. We were working and doing very good because it's a very busy show. Lady across from me in the booth just collapses to the floor.
I'm in my early 40s now. I'm 42 years old. I jump up right away and go to her aid because the old paramedic skills kick in. Every time I see somebody in trouble, I mean, I'm still that way today. My, my wife thinks I'm a little crazy there, but I get up and go when somebody falls down somewhere. I'll go and try and see what I could do.
So basically, she fell, and I couldn't see her. So I went around her booth and went inside. She's on the floor, and I just pick her up. I try to pick her up a little bit, and I felt the heat coming out of her body. I don't know what her temperature was, but it was, it was terribly high. She's already been coughing for two or three days there.
So I'm fine all up until this time. Wait till the paramedics come. I just wanted to make sure her airway was good, she was breathing properly, because that's all I could do at the time.
So I got back to the hotel. I wasn't too bad at first, but as, as the night progressed, it started to get me. 9, 10 o'clock, I started feeling worse and worse. The fever was going up again. I took a couple of hits with the inhaler, and then I remember taking the antibiotic, and I must have fell off to sleep.
Well, I'm about to tell you one of the most profound near-death experience stories maybe your viewers have ever heard. I fell off asleep. I physically remember how I left my body. You know, they say the eyes are the windows of the soul, and I believe that's the way we come in and the way we leave. Because I physically saw myself leaving my body in this beautiful mist, fluorescent. It was the color of life. It was so magnificent. So I am that color, and I'm inside this beautiful flowing mist, floating above my body.
Nowadays, they talk about the pineal gland. Well, I knew nothing about that. I didn't know it could have been that, because it was coming through the same area, but I knew nothing about the pineal gland whatsoever. I'm floating above the body, and I'm feeling free. I'm feeling this freedom, and I'm starting to feel some kind of love that I've never felt in my life. I mean, I'm feeling wonderful, and I'm looking down at my body at this moment. I still recognize my body.
Soon as I remember saying physically out loud, "That body is not alive," or "That body is dead." I forgot how I put it exactly. Soon as I said that, this beam of light from behind came from behind me, lit everything up. It was all just bright now, and turned me, and this beautiful, I, I turned, and it didn't turn me, I turn, and it drew me into this beautiful gateway, this beautiful tunnel. And the tunnel was made up of magnificent colors, and I was moving as it's going along. And now I'm starting to move faster, faster. You could see the speed, you can't feel it, but I'm moving faster and faster. And I see these beautiful lights and whizzing and colors moving by me and through me. And all I feel is love and totally protected. I'm totally got like, I feel like I'm being cradled. I'm being protected by something or someone. And the love is increasing now. I mean, this love is so wonderful and so beautiful. It, you feel it like build within your soul.
And I'll never forget my, my arrival, because this was, this part was unbelievable. When I arrive in heaven, because I believe in God, I arrive in heaven. I say, "I'm home. Thank God, I'm home." And I was so joyous. And there was other spirits there. There was spirits all around me. And I was just like an amazement, in amazement. And all of a sudden, I hear another voice. For the first time, I hear a soft whisper in my ear saying, "Yes, Bill, you're home in the light of God." I was, I talk today, and the hair on my arm stand up about that, because I'll never forget that feeling. That feeling, even though I was in spiritual form, I felt like I was in body form. I felt tears. I felt things like that. I felt, I felt the love like you can't imagine here. There's no imagining it. It's impossible because it's, it's thousands of times greater than what we could conceive here.
And she said to me, "I'm one of your three guardians. I was with you on your way home." I said, "I didn't realize you, you were with me." I remember speaking with her, but of course, we're using telepathy. There's, there's no mouths at this time. There's no bodies. She's a beautiful beam of light, and I'm still a floating mist. And, and but we're having communication that's unbelievable. I think on the other side, we use almost 100% of a mind. When on this side, when on this, this plane that we're on, I'm not going to say, say we're dumb people, but I think we only use about 6% or 7% of our mind. And I think some of the greatest minds in the world can only use about 9% of their mind. But on the other side, you feel everything. You converse with family and friends in that, in that same illuminated area. And I knew they were my family. And not only do you converse with, you converse with everyone at the same time, like you're, you're almost like you're all one, but you're understanding different thoughts and different, you're getting these, these things in your mind. I'm going to say, "Okay, you're getting actual thoughts from people. You're feeling love. You're feeling intention. You're feeling like you're embraced." It, it's magnificent.
And Antonia said that she was one of my three guardians. Right? She said, "I had two other guardians." And all of a sudden, this light starts to approach me. And now I'm sort of standing alone with Antonia on my side. And this light, this beam, I'm starting to feel. I said, "The love never stops growing on, on that side." Um, he said, "Hello, Billy." And soon as he said, "Hello, Billy," I knew that was my brother's voice. My brother Peter died when I was at 15 or 16 years old. I was, so we're talking. I haven't seen Peter now in 26 years. And now Peter, and the embrace was so beautiful. It's like we came together in an embrace. It, it was wonderful. And that feeling was great for a minute or two, I would say. And then he says, "We have to leave now." I have, where? I said, "What?" I didn't know what was going on. I knew that I was in full spirit at this point.
I have to bring this up because it's very important. I didn't remember myself here. I had no memory whatsoever of here. Here. All I did remember is that was home, and these were my family and friends, and this is my brother. So now I'm at this point. He says, "We have to go for your life review." Well, I had no idea what that was. So, and we just whisked off again. There was no control me having any physical control there. They had complete control over me. And he brought me to this beautiful illuminated area. And now they're starting to show me things in my life.
When I was a little boy, I mean, it was amazing. They're showing me with my friends at Coney Island. We had Coney Island, we had a big amusement park right on the beach, uh, right in Coney Island in Brooklyn. It was, it was fantastic growing up. So my friends and I used to go there all the time. And my mom, you know, she did all right. My dad did all right. And we weren't rich by any means, but we were comfortable. And she would give me some money. And now I, I have some money in my pocket. So I'm taking everybody with me, you know, because a lot of my friends couldn't afford it. So we went down, we did the rides, everything had, you know, fantastic times with them.
And it showed me all things I did through high school. Like it showed me the time where, you know, we had, right before I graduated Art and Design, it showed me the time where we had to do a, um, storyboard concept for, you know, like when they make a movie or a film years ago, or commercial, they used to do storyboards. They show me this, this beautiful thing when I, when I, I won this on Jesus Christ. Okay? Do I do the whole story of his life from his birth all the way to his crucifixion on different panels? And I happen to, you know, win a nice little award for it. So that was wonderful. So all this, it's showing me good things after good things.
So it takes me one more good thing that's very important. When I came down to Florida and I switched my career and I went and became a paramedic. It showed me the, this call we had, and we went downtown Miami to pick up our, our unit. Every time we had to go to the main station to pick up our unit and drive it up to our station in North Miami Beach. My partner and I gets there early as usual. We get our coffee, we hop in the unit, and we're driving up 95, just to go to our station. But we're on 95, I, 95, and about 95th Street. And all of a sudden, a call comes over the radio. There's a 317, and anything with a three in front of it means it's an emergency. So when it says 317, it meant car accident or truck accident or motorcycle accident, something that happened on the highway. But then they say, they, you know, they announce where it is. They say it's on 95 and 135th Street. And by this time, by the time they get that out, I'm probably on 1110th, 115th Street already. I picked up the microphone and said, "We have an ETA of less than one or two minutes."
I'll never forget this. There's a kid running around frantically, and I see him bleeding a little bit. And I go get the bag, and we're running towards him, me and my partner Danny. And soon as we get by him, he turns around and he says, "My sister, my sister," like this. He's pointing to his sister. And we both turn at the same time. I'll never forget this scene. Her physical head is through the window. And we immediately got right on it. We had to assess. We had less than maybe 15 seconds to assess it. We said to ourselves, we said out loud, "I mean, do we say, 'Wait for the fire truck to come with the cutters?'" Because they used to have these cutters, they cut through metal and glass and everything. But the glass is now embedded all the way back to here. I look at her, and she's still breathing inside the car. So I hop outside the car. I said to Danny, "We got to get her off. They'll never get here in time. She'll bleed out." So I, I help slightly, very, very easing, you know, putting her head through to Danny inside. And then he, he's got her inside on his lap. He's holding her head. Then he hands it over to me. We put her on the stretcher because I pull her out, and I grab her underneath, and I have the top on my head. And I, and he's on the bottom of her. We pull her out of the car and put her right on the stretcher. Now we're running right over to the ambulance. I'm trying to wrap a bandage around her, and everything is happening so quick. We get, we're only about two miles from Parkway General Hospital. I'm holding her head. I got them, her neck braced on the me. But her body starts to seize. Now, we didn't have much time to do anything because I was just bracing her with my body, with my foot up against the, the other, um, the long chair on the side of the unit. So I was braced pretty strong where, you know, nothing, she can't fall off. But her whole body starts to jump up in the air from the seizure. And now I can't control it. Her, her head, I mean, and I can't control her feet at the same time. So I turned around, and her brother was in the back with me. And the, the poor young man, he was crying his eyes out, looking out the back window. I yelled, "God help me!" And I'm looking at him, meaning for him to come and help me. And in my life review, I saw Peter's hand come right on her head. I saw Peter's hand come down along with mine. It was the most beautiful thing because now I'm physically seeing Peter in my life review. You know, we're, we're in spirit form now doing this, but his hand is right on her head, and it, it's, it's, it's magnificent.
We get there. They rush her off to operating. Danny and I took off. But, you know, she lost so much, so much blood. We needed to change our, our uniforms. We got down to our station, we changed our uniforms. We had a 24-hour shift. So, real quick, the day was pretty busy. The night wasn't too busy. We had a couple of calls. I'm waking Danny up about an hour before we got to return the unit. And he doesn't know what time it is. So I just wake him up, and he thinks it's time to go. So he's putting his shoes on and everything. And I said, "Danny, we got to go back to the Parkway." And he looked at me like I had two heads. He said, "Billy, she's dead. She's dead." And I said, "I said, Danny, I got to go back to Parkway. I feel something." I never asked in the years that I was to do this with anybody, but I said, "There was something I had to go back." He finally agreed with me after not a confrontation, but because we're going six, seven miles out of our way that way, and then six, seven miles south. He was worried about being late. I said, "Didn't tell you I woke you up an hour early so we wouldn't be late anyway."
So we get to the hospital, and we know. I know all the nurses on the shifts because we're in and out all day long. And I believe it was a nurse by the name of Becky. And I said, "What happened to that young girl that we brought in yesterday?" And when she looked at me like this, and she says, "Do you want to meet her?" I got, again, the chills. It's the same thing now. The chills stand up on my arms, my hair, you know, it's, it's incredible. She brings us up to the room, and she's sitting up in bed eating jello, and she's got this big turban on her head, wrapped around, but not on her face. I look at her face because I couldn't see her face because it was covered, you know, covered with blood. But she only had little minute scratches on her face. I looked at her. Says, "Thank God." And thank God she's awake, and she's up, and she's living. You know, I was so, I was so thrilled. It was so beautiful. A brother wakes up out of a chair, he's sleeping in the corner, jumps up and points, "This is the man that saved your life." And then we just had a beautiful embrace. It was, it was magnificent. And that's what life review is. They show you the things you've done in your life.
And then it turns on me, and now they start showing me the bad side or the wrong side. And this wasn't as pleasant. Again, starts out when I was a little kid, you know, little kid getting little trouble. You have little fights and things like that. And I'm very fortunate, I believe, because I feel like I really never did anything that that bad. You know, I did crazy things like every teenager does. You know, but I don't feel like I did anything that cruel or that bad. I didn't think I did anything cruel. But then it told me, you know, all the things during my young teens and little things like that. And then it takes me to the time when I was married to my first wife. And, uh, we had a 2-year-old son. And I call those years, you know, I was still young, you know, uh, not matured enough yet, I guess. Inside, I felt like I never lived life on my own. So I wanted a, a divorce. But, you know, when you do that, you're selfish. I was selfish at that time. I only was thinking about myself. I didn't know. I had no idea the pain that I caused. I caused this pain, and now I am physically becoming the pain in my near-death experience. I feel the pain inside like you could never imagine. I feel tears rolling down my cheeks. It's, it's terrible. I mean, it's getting worse and worse, but it's, it's actually feeling so intense that I've never had a feeling of pain like this emotionally. It was so bad. I remember them showing me a couple of things right after that, and then I started screaming, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Please forgive me." I remember saying that completely out loud. And as I said that, all this grayness just dropped. And we were sitting back, back in spirit form again. And now it's Antonia and Peter there. And they're these beautiful glowing beams. And Antonia turns to me and she says, "Bill," she says, "look at yourself." And I remember looking down at myself because you could even feel looking down, but you're no body. I'm looking down, and I'm this beam of beautiful green, magnificent, glowing beam of light. I'm just like them. I'm, I'm ecstatic. I'm feeling wonderful. I'm feeling light. But now I'm back in spirit.
Now, there's only two times in the near-death experience that I actually saw myself, my, and my life. And that was, that was in my life review. And then one more thing. The next thing I can show Antonia and Peter. Announcing, "Orin is coming." So I look up in that direction, and now I see this magnificent angel coming at me. A spirit. At this moment, I couldn't tell the difference between angels and spirit. They were so, all so beautiful. But I felt wisdom that was so far beyond what I could fathom. It was unbelievable. But this wisdom was within me my whole life. That's why I say in that first part, you know, people want to hear about the near-death experience. But this wisdom, this Orin, was my intuition. And he has been with me my whole life. I always explain Orin as the, the angel on my shoulder that whispers in my ear, the one that tells you, "That's not the right thing to do. Don't do it. Don't do it." Whenever you're hearing that, you must heed to that warning because that's a warning from the other side. It's very important that people understand that, know that when they get that kind of intuition, to pay attention to it. You know, we might like want to do things that are not the right thing, and we veer off a lot of times in our lifetime. But we have to be brought back by the right path by listening to our wisdom, because our wisdom will only give us knowledge from the other side, and it keeps us right on our life path. It keeps us on our journey. We're showing our journey before we come. We know what body we're coming into. We know what mother we have. We know what father we have. We know these things prior to coming.
Orin says, "One more level, Bill." I remember they whisked me off. We all whisked off together. And now they bring me to this beautiful, beautiful crystal theater. It's, it's magnificent. It's all crystals reflecting the universe. And it's showing combustion and like almost like exploding, you know, stars, like nebulas and things like that. But everything's reflecting off these beautiful crystals, and we're all part of this. And it was basically magnificent. But then they stopped the screen, I call it, and it felt like a flickering screen. They show me the past. They show me the present. And they show me the future. And they're showing me things now. They start showing me wars. I was never in. I mean, I was physically never in those wars. It was World War II. But now I have to ask a question to myself, "Was I in those wars?" See, that part, I don't know. It might have been me seeing that because every event that was of any importance, it stopped that, and it physically showed me those wars.
Now it's bringing me to my birth. I physically see my birth. And this is an all-life review in the Hall of Events. Now, the Hall of Events, people know that as Akashic Records today. I didn't know when I was writing my books. Some of my books were written 20 years ago. I called it the Hall of Events, so I kept it that way. I learned about Akashic Records a long time ago. You might have heard that term, uh, but I knew it only as the Hall of Events because that's how I saw her. And I had no idea what the near-death experience was because I was just a business person when this happened to me.
So they take me past my birth, and they take, and it's moving and moving again. We're moving fast in this, whatever you want to call it, computer screen or whatever. And it stops in the year, and it's 1963. And I'm sitting in my classroom. I'll never forget this. There's a speaker on the wall. Principal comes over the speaker and he says that John F. Kennedy was just shot in Dallas, Texas. That that was our president at the time, and he was loved. He was loved by lots of people. And I'll tell you, that day, I got home. My mother, for some reason, wasn't at the bar because she used to have to go in real early because she was the cook. She was cooking early in the morning. And she's sitting at the kitchen table with Christine, the lady that helped bring me up. Her and Christine are at the table. They're crying their eyes out. And I say, "I know, Mom. You know, John F. Kennedy just got shot."
But now we're moving again. We're moving in time. And I physically see my near-death experience. So we're moving faster and faster. And I'm seeing all events leading up to my birth. But before that, I see major events. I see the Vietnam War ending. I remember the helicopters landing. We stopped at that event on the roof, the helicopter landing on the roof. I remember Martin Luther King. I remember Bobby. Then I remember, I remember not my birth, my near-death experience in 1994. And I re-watched myself again die on the bed. I physically watched myself die on the bed. And then we're moving faster again, at speeds that are unbelievable. Like I said, it was like a flickering computer screen. And then it would just stop, and we were all there. We were physically in the scene while it was happening.
And then they take me to a time that I believe is today. And this time today is so, so important because we're, the world is at a crossroads. We're in an ascension timeframe. So I don't know if something's separating or what, but we're at a crossroads. People have to make choices. There's things I learned on the other side that's so important. And I'm going to bring up in the last thing right now, things about kindness, things about forgiveness, things about service. These things are so important that people physically start to do this and pay attention to what their life path is and not veer that much for whatever their motives are.
This part is insane because now they show me a place that's so, so horrible. It's so drastic. I explain it, um, when people ask me, like it was the movie Mad Max. And people have physically living off others, and they don't mind hurting, killing. They'll do anything for a jug of water. I mean, anything for a scrap of food. It was so, so, so bad. And it was, it was big. It wasn't small. I knew it was on a big scale, even though we were in one area, but it was a big, big scale. So I don't know how this happened. I don't know what made this come to this point, but it was physically as bad as that movie. If people could remember, then I'm seeing different plateaus. And it was, it's so advanced. Everything on the other side is so advanced. It's so amazing. But the two levels they took me to was one that looked like Mad Max, and then the other side was a beautiful Utopia. I believe in my heart where we're going. Where we're going, I think all people with good heart and love within them are going through this Utopia. I know when people feel God of the universe inside them on Earth, this is what they want us to feel. That's why they send us lessons every day. Very rarely do people pay attention to their lessons, but it's very important that we pay attention to our lessons, our intuition. They come through our intuition of things to do. So all these things run in this kind of sequence. But this Utopia is so wonderful. I mean, people are, people live helping, caring, serving. They live as much for themselves as for others. They're kind. They forgive. Kindness and forgiveness is probably the two most important things. I say, in God's eyes, I believe in God. I believe he created the universe. I believe the universe is the light of light is God. The light is God. You physically get all the wisdom and knowledge from that light. So that light is within us. We all have a piece of that light inside us right now. That's what I learned.
So the Hall of Events is finished. They show me the two outcomes. They take me in front of this panel. Now, these are complete angels on this side. I know they're angels and not spirits because these are so bright. They're all magnificent white angels. They're huge. White in the spectrum is all the colors in the world together as one. And these angels have so much knowledge and wisdom, and they're pouring wisdom into me like I've never experienced anything like this in my life. This wisdom is growing within me. They teach me nine principles of enlightenment. The first principle is very important. You cannot take another life. You're not allowed to interfere with anyone else's life path. Now, it's important that you understand why. It's not that it's only wrong, and it's the probably one of the worst things we could possibly do. But the reasoning that I got from the other side was that you will never know what this person's great-grandson or daughter could have achieved. They might have achieved the real cure for cancer, you know, things like that. I mean, it was on that plateau, that kind of energy field that I was learning all this on. And so that was wonderful.
The second was your choice. Your intuition. Your intuition is so important. Remember I told you Orin was my intuition? I've been telling you some of the principles along the way, going here, but we all have an intuition. Did you ever have déjà vu? I ask this to everybody. Do they have déjà vu? And they all say yes. Everybody has déjà vu. The reason why we have déjà vu because we pre-reviewed our life before we came in. We recognized places, things, people that we never been. We've never been there before. I remember growing up, I remember when I was seven or eight years old, we used to hop in the train and just go different places, me and my friends, because we could do that when we were kids. Nowadays, you can't do that. Getting back to the, the intuition part is Orin that sits on my shoulder. Everybody has an Orin. My might not be called Orin, might be called something else for you. When everybody gets there, they'll recognize their intuition as one of the most important things we could possibly have because it's our intuition that keeps us on a road of choices throughout our life. And this is how our physical spirit grows. Our physical spirit grows in a sequence of choices we make throughout our lifetime till we hit a plateau of love. The plateau we're all looking for is love. So to understand how we have to live in our lifetime is to try to become love. On the other side, you are love. So you don't have to try to become love on this side. It's hard because there's a lot of filters in between everything. And it's, uh, it's impossible to feel that love that you feel on the other side here. But the way we experience and feel love here is through our love, through service, and kindness, of wisdom, and forgiveness. All these things are so important for your soul. Like I said, the spirit grows through a process of this learning. We have this learning through our whole life. And at some point, I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe in God. But I also believe in incarnation. I know I was here before. I know Orin was 15,000 years. His spirit was so old and so knowledgeable and so much wisdom that you, you can't imagine. To be in that presence was something of you. You were part. That's what you do. You feel them on the other side. So that part is just beautiful.
And I'll tell you one more that's very important. The, the Earth. The Earth itself. She has a spirit. Mother Earth is alive. Without Mother Earth, we can't. We don't live. Our rivers are how it's our veins. That's where we get our spring water from. Her trees are oxygen. We can't live without Mother Earth. Mother Earth needs us. So it's a balance. When the Earth is in an imbalance, is when we have things happen on the Earth that are not too good. The nine principles are so important to learn. Your viewers have to learn these principles because these principles will keep them on the right road of enlightenment, which will keep them on the path and be part of God's love. That's what we want in the end. That's where we want to be at.
Okay. And another beautiful angel comes right up to me, and he shows me this number sequence that is so magnificent. Crystal numbers are flowing straight down in front of me in rows of crystal numbers and numbers. These particular numbers with light and light and light. We would get numbers like the ones with light, the eights with light, the threes, the six, the nines with light. These numbers, at the time, I thought they must have been significant because they would be bright right in front of me, not stop, but be bright. The only ones that were bright were these numbers. The other ones would just keep flowing by. And symbols, like they explained it to me, they showed me how those numbers, they make our Earth live. Without these specific numbers, we wouldn't have our seasons. We wouldn't have our tides. And they explained the one to me as God being of God. They explain the eight to me as eternity. So that meant God from eternity. The one, the eight together is nine. Nine is the highest number in the universe. These are things I'm getting explained over there. And I don't understand much of it, but what they're telling me, but it's sinking in. Now, this one was important because I remember this one my whole life. They gave me my alert number. It was 66. The number 66 was going to be important to me for very important things that happened in my life. They could be good or they could be bad. It was sort of like an alert of something to come. I would look down sometimes while I was driving. I'd be at Exit 66. The same time, I look at 66. I look down at my speedometer, I'm going 66. I turn up and look at my watch at the time, and it's 6:06. I would see these numbers in my life at times during my life, and then something would happen. So I knew these, that number, that particular number, I knew in my life because that's been with me my whole life.
Now they show me the nine principles of enlightenment. Right? I got the numbers from the angels. They show me the distances and how important they are for our Earth to exist. The Mother Earth breathes. She breathes. She lives. And she feels. Okay? This is so important that people understand that part. A beautiful spirit approaches me. Young spirit. I feel young because in my spirit now, I'm feeling older with wisdom. She said, "You have the nine principles of enlightenment. You must return." And I said, "No, I, I'm not. I'm home. I'm part of light now. I'm part of God's light. I'm home." She said, "Do you understand the nine principles of enlightenment?" I says, "Yes, I understand them clearly." She says, "You must return." And this spirit was serious.
Well, at the time, my wife was at home, pregnant. She didn't come to this show with me, this particular show with me. She was at home, pregnant. And she, you know, she usually came to the show every year with me. But now I'm, I'm thinking, well, maybe it's because of that, because I'm getting glimpses of my life again at the end here. "You must return." Well, we had to send me back because my boy. And I'm begging and pleading, but I'm still not thinking in the human form. I'm begging now and pleading to stay. I don't want to go. Please don't send me back. I remember saying that over and over in my head. She finally says, "Dad, you must return." I'm in back. I'm being pulled back through the vortex so fast and so uncomfortable. Nothing like going. Nothing like the feeling of love going. And then I remember being zapped in my body. And the only thing that moved in my body was my throat. The only thing that moved in my body was my throat. I had no idea how long I did not breathe for, because I took a breath like you were underwater for six minutes. I mean, I took, I, you know how you would breathe like that? I try to get every amount of air in my lungs as possible. Then I did. And now I was able to breathe. But I couldn't move. My whole body didn't move. I had no feelings in my arms and legs. They were just sitting there. And I thought I was paralyzed. I had, believe me now, I'm in the pain with the body again. I'm racked still with all this misery. I got my throat being where I could barely breathe. And I'll never forget what must have been probably less than 10 minutes, seemed like hours. I finally started getting tingles in my feet, my hands, and coming up to my arm. And I'm starting to feel my limbs again, very slowly at first. But soon as I got some kind of feeling, I reached over, I grabbed the phone. I grabbed the phone. I picked it up. I said, "Have someone come in and take me to the hospital." I don't know if they sent my friends in because I, I passed out again. I remember her saying to me before I left, "I am six of six." Everything at that time went past me, but I got one part of this last, the end, the story. There's one important part. Now, my son was born that September of 1994. My son, Billy, was born. But years later, in the year 2000, on the sixth day of the sixth month, my beautiful daughter, Brianna, was born. And she's was six of six. I believe that she was the spirit that sent me back. I believe that wholeheartedly because even when I talk about it today, again, I get the chills.
Hi, my name is Virginia Drake. And I had a near-death experience, but also I had several. And I didn't even know it. But what you're going to be hearing about today is in 1998. The major, uh, NDE or near-death experience that I had was in 1998. The week before, I was naturally very, uh, healthy. I was happy. I was 46 years old. I had a farm. I had a teaching professional. I was teaching at a, you know, at a Catholic, uh, school. And I was having a wonderful life in my life, or I thought I was, anyway. I was just sitting in my den, and I was just watching some TV. And this man came in, and he was very strange. He was an older-looking man. He had oxygen. And he's telling everybody, "Don't get a heart transplant." Well, I'm listening, and I'm thinking, well, first of all, I have a real hard time with pills. And he was saying it. I, you know, I take 93 pills a day. And I thought, 93 pills a day? Oh my gosh, that's got to be horrible. And then I just immediately thought, I'm not going to do that. So he kept saying it. But what it was saying to me, it felt like he was saying directly to me on that television screen. And they kept said, "Don't get a heart transplant." And I thought, and I even looked around the room thinking, because I knew I was the only one there. I thought, "Wow, is he talking to me?" So I just kind of, okay. And he kept saying it over and over. And finally, I raised my hand and said, "I will not get a heart transplant." Because I'm 46 years old. I am not going to do anything. I've got a great heart. I've got, you know, I walk four miles a day. I do a lot of exercises. I've been gardening. And so I never even, you know, I just kind of thought, wow.
Well, the next week, uh, June the 2nd, 1998, I'm having a massive heart attack. And I thought it was, you know, I, we were getting ready. School was already ended. So I remember when I went in there on Monday, I had all these kids, and they were taking down the boards. And we were all laughing. But I kept having this really pain in my chest, but it really within my shoulder. And I would say, you know, "That really doesn't feel good." So I went downstairs and had some Coke. I thought, well, you know, it's indigestion. I've been eating too much. During too much, whatever. And I went back up. And I thought, well, but I remember bending over. This is what really threw me. I was bending over to my trash can, and I just started dripping, uh, you know, perspiration. Just started dropping off of me. And I thought, "Now, that's not normal." Because I don't perspire like that. And so I was kind of like, "That doesn't feel right." So I went down to my secretary. And she looked at me, and she went, "Uh, I think you need to call your son or call your husband." And I thought, "What?" Because I had completely blanked out. You know, just, I did not have any color in my face at all. So I went straight, and I had a hot tub. So I thought, "Well, I'll just jump into the hot tub." So I got upstairs. I'm still having a hard time like breathing a little bit. But my cats were upstairs with me because they always, I had Cantina. And they were just staring at me. And I'm an, I'm an animal communicator by any means. That's what I've been doing for a long. I'm down, and my cats were looking so weird. They would like go on top of me. And I thought, "That is really weird how they're acting." And so this beautiful voice, it was a, it's a voice that said, "You need to go and look in the mirror at the bath." And I thought, so I remember walking in there, and I was bleached out white. And all of a sudden, this other voice came in, said, "You need to go to the emergency room now." And I thought, "Oh my God, there's something wrong." So I put my hands right there. Went downstairs to my husband at the time, and I said, "I need to go to the emergency room." He said, "What? I'm on the phone with your doctor and we're getting a new prescription because I was telling you about your having anxiety and what was going on with your heart." I thought, "I think I need to go." So he's okay. "Be, we're going to go to the emergency room."
So we came in. The nurse was there. She, I went to high school with her. Her name was Punky. Punky Brandenburg. And she said, "What are you doing?" I said, "I'm got the worst pain. I said, I think I've got acid reflux again." And that, and there was another nurse in there with her. And it was a man. And he said, "Well, let's just, just take that stuff, you know, that I, you did three weeks ago." And I said, "Okay, that'll be great." I thought, "That'll get over it." That went down, and went straight out and ejected out of my mouth to the wall. And that's when everything just went into slow mode. I mean, they looked at me and they said, "You're having a heart attack." And I thought, "Did they just say I'm having a heart attack?" And that's when I left my body. Body, literally. I literally left my body. And I kept thinking, "I am confused. I'm very confused here. I don't, why did they say things like that?" Because people don't understand when you go out of body, you're not even aware that that you're in out of your body. I mean, I remember thinking I could see myself on the corner of the emergency room, but I'm still here. And then all of a sudden, that came back, and I came back into my body. And I was looking at everything through my solar plexus, which is not possible. I mean, I've got a science background. So I'm going like this, "That doesn't matter." So I remember they're all just screaming and moving, and everybody's, "We got to do this." But everything is slow. It's like, "We got to do something." And I thought, "Are they talking about me?"
Well, then the next thing I know, my husband ran, obviously they called him and said that she's having a hard time. So he went and got the boys because he wanted the boys to be there. And then the nun that I was working with, Marcia, she said, "I'll go. I'll take her. I'll ride in the ambulance with her." And I thought, "Thank God." Well, you just can't imagine. That was probably a good deal that I did. So they were still trying to work it out. It was like three or four hours. I had no idea. I'd still in the emergency, three or four hours, because I'm in, I'm out, I'm in, I'm out. This is what I was trying to explain to nurses a lot of times. I said, "When people are out of their body, and I said this to the nurses, you got to make sure they're in their bodies. If you're talking to them, they're not going to listen to what you're saying. They're just looking shocked." And this, I have several nurses that will come and visit me and ask me, especially ER nurses. They said, "Can we tell if they're out of body?" I said, "Absolutely." And I said, "I'll tell you how it feels." Like I said, they look blank. And I said, "And they might be looking around, not even recognizing anybody, even though they know them, because you're no longer physically in your body. You're emotionally out." But I was coming out to go getting another, uh, emergency.
vehicle that was taking me to Lexington because they did not have enough room right then for to get me there. So I was like, "But when, remember when the, um, the ambulance driver, he was helping take me?" And I heard him say this very clearly. He said, "He's not going to make it." And I thought, "I cannot believe that he would say that to me."
Now, this is because I was out of my body. And when you're out of your body, you can hear anybody, what they think, everything. But when that was a whole experience. So I remember getting into the, uh, ER vehicle. So I mean, the emergency vehicle, I got in and I was talking to somebody. Next thing I know, I was gone. I was out of the vehicle and I was riding beside it. And I thought, "That's not possible that I'm, I can see me in the, the ambulance, but I'm over here." So I was really, really confused. In fact, I could even move myself just thinking. I could see the driver. So I was supposed to be in the back of the, the car or the, the truck. And then he, "You're nothing." "F*** that doesn't make sense." That just doesn't, you know, you're trying to, literally trying to figure out what in the world is going on. I mean, there's so much stuff going on.
And then all of a sudden, I felt like there was like a cocktail right here, and I got jerked, and I got jerked, and I got moved up to a higher consciousness, I guess. I went up and two, and I met the Council of 12. Now, I knew nothing about this. I never heard anything about that. But there were 12 beings in white robes, and they had gold tassels, and you knew they were gold. I mean, I don't know how to explain it. I try to explain this to people who've never had these because all of a sudden, you know everything. You know everything about the universe. You know about you. You know about everybody. You see totally differently than you've ever been in your own self within your body.
So I remember they were talking to me and I thought, "Can they talk to me? I don't, I can't see their mouths." And I remember I've sat in a chair. I looked down, but I couldn't find my hands. I couldn't find my body, but I knew I was in a chair. And I would say, "Where am I?" I mean, I'm trying to talk, but I'm in a room. I knew I was in a room, but I had a room that had like big windows, and I could go out of those windows and I could be in the stars. I could be into the universe. I could dance over here. I could go over there. All I had to do is just think. And you do something different. So you had to be learn how to, you, you know, to maneuver that. And you didn't even, you know, you even never even knew you could do something like that.
So I remember I was saying something. I said, "This is really weird. I don't know where I'm at." These and these things would lean down and they would go, and they would laugh. "Are they laughing at me?" You know, because I kind of took it personal because I thought, "Are they laughing at me?" And they even laughed even more. And then it, but I never could see their faces. Only could see the hood. And so then they said, "You know, you're just coming here to learn." And I thought, "Well, what, what am I learning?" You know, "Wait a minute. What, what part of this?" It almost felt like a spaceship, you know, that you could see, but it wasn't a shape. I mean, a spaceship, it wasn't that.
Well, I remember I thought, "Look, there's a noble." And it went down because I have son back. So I taught all of this. "Look at the stone first." And then I would think I was going to be at a planet, or I would be over here. And it would be like in seconds. I mean, multisecond. It was not, not like a second here. It was like, "You done." And then I came back to the chair. And the next thing I know, I'm back into my body. Get in the ambulance. I was going, "How did this work?" And I couldn't tell anybody because the pain was so excruciating when I would come back into my body. It was excruciating.
So when I, I got into the other hospital, the thing that I remembered, and it still makes me cry, I had not seen my husband or my two sons yet. I just saw my friends. And all of a sudden, the nurse was coming and she said, "We're going to take her out to the operating room because they were going to put a stent." They were, what they were going to do is a, you know, heart cath. They're going to go through that, then whatever they had to do because the heart, the heart attack had been severe. And I remember thinking, "This is going to be the last people I've got to ever talk to again, ever." It's been a really all sobering thought. I'm not going to see my sons. Every, you know, I, I, I felt it very clearly that this might be the last. And I remember crying. And I'm going away from them. I thought, "This is going to be the last people I've ever, ever, ever see." It's still, it's still does now. That's been, you know, almost 27 years, but it still takes you up.
So I remember I want, okay. I was in and the nurse comes in and she's doing this, you know, and she's talking. She said, "Miss," you know, at that time I was somebody else. I was, I wasn't divorced. So she's talking to me and she said, "This is going to be an easy thing. We're going to do this." And I said, "Okay, that's cool. You know, I'm all right." Once they relaxed me enough to get where I could hear, I said to them, I said, "Look, I'm a teacher and I would like to watch this." Because they were going to cut into my, um, or, you know, a, a aorta. And they have a little, it's like a little drill. And I said, "Would you let me see it?" Because you're still awake. I mean, they have to, they have to put all of the dye in there. You're very awake. They're just making you so calm.
So I remember the cardiologist, the doctor said, "Do you want to see this?" I said, "Absolutely. I'm going to teach it." And so they turned it around and he said, "You're going to teach this?" I said, "Absolutely. I said, everything I can teach a child, the more I can information, I'm going to give that to them." So. And, uh, so he said, "Okay." So I went through it. And I remember they were drilling. And soon as they hit that clot, because I had a 99% clot in my aorta, I should have died. He, they called it the Widow Maker. And, uh, I remember it going, "Well, I could just go back home now." That's what I thought I was going to do. I thought, "Well, gosh, I can just leave now."
But I remember the woman I was in the, uh, I of you, and the lady was there with me. She was probably the age that I am right now. I'm 73 right now. So she was probably in her 70s. And I knew she was really sick. I knew that she, well, in fact, one of the nurses said, "She's in the process of dying." And immediately I thought, "Oh, and I'm going to be in the room with her." But we had a curtain. I could not see her. I could hear her. She could hear me. And I remember that. And in that room was the most amazing thing. I had angels that started coming in. I had a daughter of light that was in that room with me in the corner. And I kept thinking, "This must be really bad drugs." Because all I'm saying is this light. It just would, you know, little bitty light. And the next thing it starts getting bigger, bigger, and bigger. Now, I'm gonna say was Archangel Michael because that's who it looked like. And he was huge. He was bigger than the hospital. And I thought, "Oh, wait a minute. That, that can't be possible."
And I remember him coming down and look at me. He said, "It's time to wake up." And then I had these angels. After he left, he went like out to the, you know, the hospital window. And I'm on the third floor. There's no way he could have gone through that window. But he was kind of like went in through the window. But he was waving at me and he's talking to me. And I thought, "That's not, that's not possible. That can't be light, right?" And so I mean, we're thinking, "Okay, this is it." Then all of a sudden, all these angels started coming in. But you couldn't, you couldn't hear. You couldn't hear them. Now, I'm in a room with a woman that has a curtain. And these angels were coming around and dancing around my room. There is no way they could have gotten through my bed like that. They were going through the wall, coming back around, you know. And it was like that. And they were talking to me. And they were talking like this. Nothing. I thought, "I don't even know what they're talking about." But as they're talking, this is going off and on all night long. And in the middle of the night, I would have thought it was probably about 3:00 in the morning. I'm still having this, you know, experiences. I'm having angels coming in. I'm seeing gold light coming in. And then it goes out. It would come back in. I thought, "What is that?" You know, because the light was not the same. Because that's when you're going out of body, coming back in.
And all of a sudden, this man comes in. And I mean, I heard him come in. And he sounds just like the National Geographic narrator. Now, I'm a teacher. I watched Learning Channel, National Geographic. So you recognize these narrators. And it sounded just like him. And I thought, "That is the weirdest thing in the world. That sounds just like the National Geographic narrator." So yes, uh, that lady did pass. And, uh, I remember the nurses came in and they said, "Well, we let her, you know, she left." Or I think they said, "She left." Up. I said, "Did she pay us?" And they said, "Yes." I said, "This is the wildest thing." I mean, remember this one. There, she was blonde. She was real, um, real, you know, laughable and fun to be around with her. And she said, "That's really, that was her son." I said, "Really?" I said, "He sounds just like the National Geographic narrator." And she said, "That was him. He just came in from California." How went like this. I said, "Everything then that was going on over on my side of the room really was happening." Because spirit literally made me see both sides. And there are two worlds. And I've learned this from the work that I've been doing with myself. There's two worlds. There's the world of God, or the world of the universe. And then there's the world of man. They wheeled me into my room. My husband was there. My family doctor was there. Two other doctors were there, plus my, that doctor. And then the manager of the hospital was in there. And they're discussing me. "What can be done?" "This is called, uh, this is called shock heart." "What are they talking?" And they're talking about me. And I'm sitting on in the bed. And nobody's discussing anything with me. So it kind of burned me up a little bit. Because you're discussing something about me, but you're not involving me in what you're talking about. So I kind of raised up. And I heard him say, "Well, this is called shock heart." And I said, "I don't think it's shock heart. I think it is a miracle that I'm alive." And I lay back down because I was afraid I'd have another heart attack. And, um, my cardiologist looked at me. And he said, um, "Why do you say that?" I said, "Because I feel good like that." And because he had already given me the bad news. Oh my gosh, Lauren. He gave me the real bad news. They just told me if I did not have a heart transplant, I'm going to die in six months. I mean, I was preparing for that. I really thought that's it. And by not doing what they said to do, you know, I did not want a heart transplant. That guy said it. I wasn't doing it. And so, uh, he said, "You, you've had a change. Your heart has come back." And I said, "What do you mean my heart's come back?" He said, "It's called shock heart. It looks really bad." Because I mean, I was gone. That my heart was not functioning or anything. And it came back miraculously. I think it still says it came back miraculously.
And I remember coming back home. And I said, because it was the first summer, our summer break, of the first day. So I had three months to recuperate. And I lay, I sat in a chair. And I had a room called the Angel Room. And I thought, "I just sat there." I did not talk to anybody. I cried a lot. I cried a lot. I, I couldn't believe that God was so great, grateful, but know I can even live through this. I mean, I started seeing the understandings of what really happened to me was the shock of the body and all of that. And I remember I started having profound experiences coming into my house. I remember all of a sudden, that's when Jesus came in. And I remember when he walked in, I recognized him immediately because he looked exactly like my Jesus on my bulletin board. And I was the only one that had the smiling Jesus. And he came in and I thought, "Looks just like the on the smiling Jesus." And so I thought, "If I got Jesus sitting in here, I'm going to ask him every question I could ask." So I started, I said, "First of all, I said, how come you look exactly as my smiling Jesus?" He said, "Because that's the only way you would recognize me, the way you were, where you recognized." And it makes perfectly good sense because everybody says, you know, I listen to a lot of ndes that have been Jesus. And Jesus is a little different from them. Like some people have the aura of Jesus. Some people. And I realized this is what he said. He said, "You know, you're not going to recognize me, but only the way you've been given how I look." And that's exactly the truth. And that would be, you know, that would, because if Jesus was walking in the crowd with everybody, that's why everybody sees him totally different. Because they're only going to recognize him for what they have known. So I remember he gave me that. And I thought, "Well, that's perfectly, that is the best. I've never had an answer like that."
And he was telling me about, I asked him, I said, "Well, did we die?" He said, "You didn't. He said, you don't die. He said, your body will leave because the body is set for the Earth. It goes back, ashes to ashes, dust to dust." Now, I was a Bible girl because I was a Baptist before I was a Catholic. So I was very much about the, where the Bible. I thought, "Ashes to ashes, dust to dust." That's exactly what it would be like. Your body will go into particles. Your soul will leave and be moved out into a higher consciousness. Which I thought that was the coolest thing in the world. But also, I told him, I said, "I can see things better than I've ever seen." And he said, "So you see with your soul eyes. You're not seeing with your human eyes." And I thought, "So you can see that?" Well, I could. I've always seen things because, like I said, I was an animal communicator. I'm an only child. So I had animals with me all the time. And animals talk to me. Now, everybody in my family always thought I was just kind of making it up. No, I, I'm an animal communicator. I work with horses, work with dogs, work with people all over the world. So I've always had that ability. So, um, yeah. And I was talking to Jesus about that. And I'd say, "How, how does that work?" He said, "Because you're not working with your brain. You're working with your soul." And he told me all about my soul. He said, "Your soul is the spark of God. It is really what is the Father's. You are part of that. We're children of God." And then he sat down and he said, "We're all children of God. Just because you're an adult today, you're still a child in God's, uh, in Father's face, or God's eyes." I think that's what he said. I thought, "Well, that makes sense. We are." And he said, "And your intelligence is not what you really want here. You want to have your spirit come enhanced. Not your intelligence. Intelligence is human. When you're looking at your soul and looking at the supernaturalness of it all, it's a whole different ride. And it's a different, you know, you don't have to worry about anything. It all comes into alignment."
I was sitting in a meditation and he said, "There's going to be a war, but you're not going to be a part of it. And I'm going to show you." He took me in a tornado. And I could see through the eye of the tornado. And he took me all the way through the Middle East. And he was showing me what was going to happen. "This is going to happen. This is going to happen." He said, "But you're not going to get involved at all." And I remember I was sitting in the Kroger store. And these women were talking about the war. And I thought, "War? What war?" She talked about. But then we started talking. And then I realized, "That's what Jesus said. You will never even know it." I saw it. He said, "But you will not get involved in." And I never did get involved. I don't get involved in politics. I don't get involved in a lot of things in the world of man. Because that is in the world of man. Jesus doesn't want us to be in that world. We want to be in this world into the eternal world. We've been programmed from our educational system, our parents, our town, all these rules that we've been following. But you don't have any written down rules. But you know there's certain kind of rules. And spirit, or Jesus, would say, "Those rules are the rules of man. That's not the rules of God." There's only the two rules. And that's love or fear. Either you got one or the other. You better find out what those mean to you. Because if you're in fear, you are in, you're in a whole different ride. Because I was afraid all my life until after my near-death experience. I remembered, "I don't have, you hear about dying at all, because you don't die." And I was trying to tell people, my friends, they would just go like this. I remember one of my friends said, "Well, you know, you had a really bad heart attack and you probably didn't have enough heart, you know, oxygen in the brain." I said, "No, I'm, my brain is fine. I'm seeing things." And it really, for the first five or six years, all I did was study. I, I got into my school the next year. And I only lasted one year because my higher self literally said, "God said, Jesus said, whatever you want to say, it's time for you to leave and you need to serve me." I left my, uh, teaching position at the age of 50 and started working. I created my business called Revisions to Review It Again. That's how I was trained by Jesus and other, uh, you know, entities that would come. They're not entities, they're beings of light. And they would come in and how to train me to use my brain in a different way to arc the electromagnetic field. Because being science, I knew about the light. I knew about everything how it worked. So then when I saw quantum for the first time, because I can go out of my body from a meditation, I used to do meditations of 16 and 17 and 18 hours a day. That's all I did was stay in and go out into the universe, grab what I need, bring back, and bring it back and start teaching people. And I've been a teacher, uh, for the last 27 years teaching this. And I think it's the best thing I've ever taught in my life. And I've been traveling all over the world with this. So I know what I'm doing is the best thing I could ever do. And that was my near-death experience. But my near-death experience continued on. I mean, this is what made me become even more, uh, curious. I think you have to be curious to do this work and to go out and find out what the real truth is. And that's when everything came together. I mean, I was having people from New York. I mean, I never advertised. One people heard about me. And at first, it scared me that people would find me the way they. And then finally, one day, Jesus said, "They're going to find you the way they need to find you. And the way that is done by the spirit." So they're really needing you. That's why, you know, that's who you're supposed to work. So I never had clients. I always had clients. I always had people that were asking questions. And I loved it. And I got to practice my skill on this. And that's when I got really good at quantum physics. Because I went out and I was taught quantum physics. Now I have a fact, you know, a science background. So I did know it's physics. But I've never learned it like that over there. I learned something that I would not have ever been able to. I went over and within two or three minutes, I was back. But I had learned so much. But now time does not exist in the universe. It does not. You do not have an end or a beginning. It all runs. Because that's the eternity of it. That's what I learned. Is I'm, you're in eternity all the time. We just think that we are in our end. You know, we have a beginning and an end. No, you, you are in the eternity of life. When you want to do this work, it's inside. It's not on the outside. The outside is that is the, the man. This in here is the true work of God. Jesus. That's why Jesus said, "The temple, you know, the kingdom of God lies within you." That's what Jesus is talking about, honey. I believe anything that Jesus comes in. Because I saw Jesus. And Jesus is very much alive right here. Because that's the way it is. You can heal yourself. But you got to get out of your own way. You got to get out. This brain only thinks in the world of man. My heart and soul thinks of a whole different way. And I know that I can do it.
I did leave my family in 2003. And spirit, literally said, "You need to leave now." Because it was very much domestic violence. And I'm just like, social worker as well, before I was a teacher. And this boy said, "You need to leave now because they're going to hurt you." And my oldest son, he does remember any of this. He doesn't even know what to talk about. He said, "I don't remember that." Well, I remember very well. Because spirit, get me, you couldn't, you couldn't get past my higher consciousness. Couldn't. And my, and spirit, literally said, "Turn around and leave now." And the back door opened by itself. And that door opened and I walked out. I mean, and all God kept telling me, "Don't look back. Don't look back." Because if you look back and you go back into where you're going in. And I would, you can feel everything in your body. But you've got to get out of your own way. We get too much going on in the mind. We got too much clutter. If you got a whole lot of clutter, you're not going to be able to do what I do. Because I had to learn how to stop everything. I had to completely empty my mind totally. And then these great experiences would come through like a movie. It would come through. And I think, "Oh my gosh." Or I, like if I'm working and all of a sudden somebody's face just shows up. It's usually my client. I just pick up the phone. Call. They said, "How'd you know?" "How'd you know?" I said, "Because I felt you." They said, "What is it like when you call me?" I said, "I saw your face." So yeah, it's the most incredible thing I've ever done. I mean, I've done some amazing things, believe me. Uh, but to do this work, nah, I would not trade anything.
So I was a baseball player. And it's funny, like if anyone would have asked me before my experience, what I did or who I was, that was the only answer I could ever come up with was, "Baseball player. I am a baseball player." Were you living? Do you think like a full life at the time, living your purpose? I thought if you would have asked me then, I thought I was. But, uh, obviously, in retrospect, I don't. I don't think I was. No. Yeah. Okay. Tell me about your near-death experience. Okay. So I was playing baseball at this little tiny school in Jacksonville, Florida, called Jacksonville University. And it was my freshman season. And I, I had good hopes for my career. I was playing at the Division I level, which was the highest level of amateur baseball that there was before the professionals. Uh, I was just playing in high school on the number two ranked team in the entire country. So I thought that my track was, I'm going to play Major League Baseball. So it's my freshman season at Jacksonville and I have an injury. I have an elbow injury. And I'm heading in for surgery on my elbow. Surgery is often referred to as Tommy John surgery in the baseball world. And I get into the, uh, the hospital for my pre-operation checkup. And the lady, the nurse, she wanted to ensure that I was able to be operated on. So she was asking me all these types of questions. And one of which was, "Are you allergic to anything? And or anything that we should know about?" And I didn't know the answer, so I said, "No."
So fast forward to the next day. I'm going in for my surgery. And my surgeon says, "Okay, here's how this is going to work. You're going to lay on this hospital bed in your hospital gown. And we are going to hook you up to this IV. We're going to put the anesthesia through your IV so that way you don't feel a thing during surgery. By the time we get into the operating room from where we are now, you'll be out. You'll be unconscious. And you'll be back on the field before you know it." So that's what he, that's what he did. He wheeled me into the operating room. And I was supposed to be under anesthesia, but I wasn't. I just felt like I was completely awake and conscious. And from my perspective, I was like, "Well, maybe it just hasn't hit me yet. So I'm not going to say anything."
So the doctors are confirming with one another that I'm ready to get operated on. And they grab their tools and they're about to cut into me. And from my perspective, I'm like, "I'm still awake. This is really going to hurt." So I started to, I guess you could say, get a little bit afraid. And then in the flash of a second, I was just watching the entire scene from above. And I watched from above as my body turned like a, a lifeless blue, and then a bruise-like purple. And then I watched as my heart monitor went from beep, beep, to beep. I was immediately thrusted into this life review, where I saw my entire life on like a, a panoramic, 360-degree screen. But I also had the ability to enter the, the life review. So it's like I was watching a movie, but I was also in the movie. And I was experiencing my life review from the perspective of all of the characters of the movie. So it wasn't just my life. I was also experiencing my life from others' perspectives. And what I mean by that is, uh, I'll give you an example. I was, I don't know, I was probably four or five years old. And my dad used to discipline my brother and I with a belt. That's how he would discipline us. And my brother's four years older than me. So I, from my perspective as a kid, obviously, I hated that. And I don't condone that at all. And I don't think it was right. But my entire life until I had this near-death experience, I absolutely hated him for it. And I would never, ever, ever forgive him for it. And in this life review, I was able to actually experience those beatings from my dad's perspective. And from his perspective, I had never known, but he thought what he was doing was right. He was like, "You know, my kids need discipline. And this is, this is what I believe discipline to be." So from his perspective, I got to, I got to understand that because of the life review, he was coming from a good place. And he was actually trying to express love to my brother, mother, and I.
So I was able to experience memories like that. And just other, every single memory of my life in all types of detail and clarity. It was just, it was just incredible. And the last, the last, um, memory of my life review was one where it just stuck with me. I don't know, my parents, my parents divorced when I was eight. And after that, a man entered my mom's life. His name was Mike. And he was just, he was just what I needed from a father figure. He didn't discipline us in the same way. He was just very loving and nurturing and gentle. And anyways, we played this beautiful basketball game one time when I was 12. And I don't know why it stuck with me my entire life, but it did. And in the life review, I was able to experience it again. And it was just, it was just beautiful. It was a good way to end my life review. That said, after that memory and my life review was done, I, I couldn't help but feel angry with myself and upset at myself for how I decided to live my life. Um, and I was afraid of what was next. You know, I wasn't, I wasn't ready to die. Um, and there are so many reasons to that. At the time, you know, I didn't believe in an afterlife before my experience. So that contributed to it. But also the way in which I lived my life, it was just, I don't know, I just wasn't happy with it at that time. And it sucked because I couldn't do anything about it. After my life review, it was, it was my last moment.
So after the fear and the anger subsided, uh, I was transferred into this, this place that was just indescribable by words. It was like everything I was viewing it from the perspective of the inside of a diamond. It was just serene and crystally. And there were refracted combinations of light that just formed one universal color. It was just beautiful. And in this place, the, the voice in my head that was beating me down about how I lived my life after my life review, it didn't exist. I, I wasn't, I didn't have this voice in my head. I just was. I was pure presence, pure bliss, unconditional love. And I was in this place for what felt like forever before a strange, distant figure appeared. And, um, as I approached this distant figure, immediately I was passed a basketball. And I began to play this basketball game with this strange figure who happened to be my stepdad, Mike. And it was a recreation of the moment I just saw in my life review, just moments ago, or however long ago. I don't know. I didn't have any concept of time. In fact, time and I felt like we were the same thing.
So anyways, Mike and I play this beautiful game of basketball, which lasts forever. It feels like. And, uh, I'll mention that neither of us had a body or, uh, an ability to speak words because there was no use for either of those things. We both, like, I don't know, it's so hard to describe, but we both just knew. We just knew that we were playing a game of basketball. And we didn't need a body. And we knew what each other was thinking. So there's no need for real communication. But anyways, um, after the beautiful game of basketball, which, uh, lasted forever, Mike slowly like stepped away from me. And his tone changed. And he was like, "Okay, essentially, this is what if words existed, this is what he would have said." Essentially, what he said was, "Okay, playtime's over. Let's get serious. There's a reason that you're here. And there's a reason that I'm here. I'm here because I know how you felt after your life review. I know that you desperately wanted a second chance. Well, I'm here because I'm here to present to you that second chance. But if you take the second chance, you have an obligation and a responsibility to live out your great purpose." That's what he called it. It was a great purpose.
So it didn't feel like I had much of a decision. And I made my decision. And right when I did, he, he disappeared. And I was face to face with myself on the operating table, as if a, a glass panel was separating me from up here and me from the operating table. And I watched as the doctors injected me with the shot that saved my life. And I woke up on the table. And I was punching the doctors because I was fighting with myself about the decision I had just made to come back. Because that place was so perfect. How were you playing basketball without a body? Like, how did that work? I wish I could describe it, Lauren. It was just, it was, we just knew. It was just this, uh, this knowing of all. Um, and again, I, I, it sounds like it doesn't make sense in earthly terms, but, uh, it really just, it just was. It was just a recreation of the moment that, of the life review. I don't know. I wish I've never been asked that question, but I wish I could have a better answer to it because I, I just don't know how to answer it. That's fair. That's fair. Yeah. I feel like you've done though a good job of putting a lot of this other stuff into words. You mentioned that it was your stepfather was like a strange figure coming up to you. When did you realize, "Oh, that's my stepdad"? I can't, I can't pinpoint a moment because I didn't have any concept of time or space, really, even. Um, it just when he appeared. Um, it was almost as if I saw him in a distance. And then in a flash of a second, it was just, he was here. There was really no transition period between like, "What is that?" "Oh, that's my stepdad." It was, it was more so just, and then bam, that's him. I don't know if that explains it either. These, these questions are so hard to answer. No, but you're doing. I, I appreciate the answers. I think, I mean, I feel like with a lot of the people I've spoken to, it's, my understanding is it's no words there. Like what you said, it's communication almost through like telepathy. Um, and so I appreciate everyone who I've spoken to, like their work translating it almost into a different language so I understand. What did the realm? You said that it was like looking around within a diamond. Was it like a basketball court? Were you in nature? What kind of things were around you? Yes. So the re, it was the recreation of the life review moment. So I'll describe that. I actually, it's funny, like I actually have a picture on my phone. Guess my mom took a picture of us playing. Um, so the basketball court was concrete. Um, obviously, in that place, it wasn't concrete. You know, concrete didn't exist there. But, um, the scene was set where I was on a concrete court with no shoes on because I didn't have any shoes on in real life. And he was playing, uh, against me. He was actually passing me the basketball in the picture. And there were trees in the background, um, because it was in kind of a rural area. Um, and you couldn't see the basketball hoop, but it was like, you could tell that we were facing this way. Um, again, that's, that's the best answer I can come up with. When he said, um, you to live your great purpose, did you know what that was at the time? No, I didn't. And I haven't for years. Um, after the near-death experience happened, I just returned to my life as it was before for a long time. Like I returned to baseball. I returned to, I don't know, listening to the voice in my head, directing and guiding the, my life. Um, so for a long time, I, I kind of just brushed it off as if it was just a dream. Um, and as if that didn't actually happen. But, uh, to answer your question, no, at the time, I had no idea. And I didn't even take it very seriously, honestly. Do you know what your purpose is now? Uh, I'll say this. I have a lot better of an idea. It's hard to say it's one specific thing. Um, but I do feel as if I've been brought back to bring to the world a, a message. And that message is, I call it becoming ready to die. And the reason that I called it that is because when I died, after my life review, I, I felt so afraid of what was next. And that's just an indescribably terrible feeling. Uh, that I can't describe. Um, but I feel as if becoming ready to die is, uh, a mission that I've been brought back to share to combat that feeling, to ensure that nobody else ever has to feel that. That's beautiful. I love that. Thanks. Thank you. Going back a little bit more. Um, I saw in another interview you did that a nurse told you about NDEs when you were in the hospital recovering. Can you tell me that story? It was after I had been revived. Uh, and I was on drugs, sedated from them bringing me back to life. Uh, and I was just spewing a bunch of words. And I had recounted the story to my mom. And obviously, she was like, "Oh, that's just the drugs talking. You're, you know, you're not telling the truth." But the nurse overheard it. And the nurse was like, "Wait a second. That's real. Those are called near-death experiences." And she didn't go into too much detail. And if she did, I can't really remember. I'm sure I could ask my mom. But that, that was it. And I, I heard it. And my mom heard it. And we were just like, "Oh, that's cool." But we had no concept of NDE. We thought a near-death experience was like, like when you, I don't know, almost die. You know, maybe a car almost hits you or something. That's what we thought a near-death experience was. Um, how did other people react when you told them this story? That's a good question. Um, I guess it, it just depends on the person because everyone reacted differently. I, like I said, initially when I told my mom, um, she was the first person I ever told. And it, it struck her as a surprise. But it also didn't really seem to have an effect because I myself didn't take it very seriously at first, like I was saying. Um, so when I told her, we, we both just kind of brushed it off like, "Oh, that's cool. Move on." Um, and then as I started to feel some of the after effects, it became a lot more real to me. When I would tell people, like I would tell some of my baseball teammates when I returned to baseball, but I would, I would say it as a joke, almost. I'd be like, "Hey guys, I died." And they would laugh. And we would laugh together. But there was no depth to it because it didn't really mean anything to me. But as I got further away from the experience and it became a lot more real to me, uh, because of the internal after effects, then, uh, people started to react differently, just because I told the story a bit differently. Why do you think it took you time to process it? That's, that's a great question. And I don't exactly know the answer. I'm still exploring different ideas. Um, but I'll say that at first, I didn't want to admit it to myself that that was real. Um, because if I did, that would mean I'd have to change my entire life and my entire identity. Because my identity was built around the voice in my head. And when I was in that place, the voice in my head didn't exist. And it felt as if I was the real me. So the question that I was afraid to answer was, "If I'm not the voice in my head, then who am I?" And the weight of that question, especially for me, I was only 19 when it happened. It, it was just too much for me to bear. So I tried to sweep it under the rug as long as I could. Um, but eventually, I had to answer it and face it. That's a good answer. That's a really, really insightful answer. Um, thanks. Yeah. What else changed for you after? What did your beliefs change after? Yes, everything for me changed. Everything for me changed after, uh, yeah, my beliefs changed for sure. Um, before the experience, I didn't have, I mean, I, I, I didn't have a real spiritual or religious belief. I thought that when you died, like I wanted to believe in God, I did. But I just, it just, I don't know, it wasn't real to me because I had never been exposed to that. And so I believed that when you died, everything was just black. And that was it. You know, you're done. That was, that was your time. But after this, I couldn't unsee or unexperienced. So it became real to me that, like, yeah, the afterlife is real. And it's actually, from my perspective at least, it was more real than here. So, um, that changed for me. And then, like I was saying, uh, the life that I lived before was built around the idea that the voice in my head was me. So when I came back, it, I tried to fit myself back into that box. But it felt like I was trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. It just didn't work. So my entire life changed. What I wanted to do with my life changed. My ambitions and dreams and goals changed. And my personality changed, you know? Um, I was a, I don't know, I guess you could say, uh, you know, how athletes carry themselves, you know, just like very egotistical and, "I'm better than you," and, "I'm God's gift to this earth" type thing. And after this experience, I was just humbled to the core. Because number one, I didn't believe that death could actually happen to me. And so that was really like shocking. Like, "Oh my gosh, this can, this, this is real." And then two, it was like, "I'm not, I'm not God's gift to Green Earth." You know, I'm just a regular guy. And so, um, I don't know, that's a long way of saying everything changed for me. Yeah. Yeah, it sounds like it. Is baseball still a huge priority for you now, or did that change too? As far as playing? Yeah. Yeah. So no, I don't play baseball anymore. I, I did, um, come back for quite a few years after. But, um, a few things happened. You know, I just didn't love the game anymore. And also, I was just, because of that, because of the fact that I didn't love the game, I just, my performance on the field was really bad. And I don't know, I just fell out of love with it. Um, but I will say that I'm going to, I, I am re-entering the game as a coach. Because it does mean a lot to me. And it, it gave me a lot and it taught me a lot. So I'd like to give back to it. That's so cool. I love that. Thank you. Uh, one thing that a lot of people I interview talk about is meditation and a way that they use that to connect to the other side. Do you meditate? Yes, I do. And that's such a good question. That's so funny you ask that because I've really been exploring that recently. Like when I was saying earlier how I thought that I was the voice in my head, um, and when I came back after my experience, I, I thought that same thing. Um, but then a trainer of mine introduced me to meditation. And once I meditated, something in me changed. It was like, this, this feels similar to the same sense of timelessness and mental clarity that I had during my near-death experience. Meditation has actually really helped me in kind of making sense of it, like how to get beyond the voice in my head, um, and into the real me. So meditation has been humongous for me. Wow. That's, that's really interesting too. Do you have any tips for someone like getting started with meditation? Um, I don't know. I'm no, I'm definitely no meditation expert. But, uh, I don't know. For me, it's, it's evolved my meditation process. Um, what's helped me along the way is to just observe bodily sensations and thoughts. I mean, that's, that's still what I do today. So I don't, I don't know. Okay. Okay. Good tip. Good tip. My last question I have is, what is your advice to people who hear your story? My advice would be a few things. Um, number one, I'm definitely no person to give it advice. So this is just, I, I, I'll reframe the word advice and say this is just me sharing my perspective. Um, number one, um, it's okay to not just believe, but to trust in the idea that death is not scary. And I would say that you can use that for good to live a life without fear and to do good for this world. Because someone is going to inherit the world that we leave behind. And it is our job to teach whoever is going to do so that that same concept, that death is not scary. To have faith and to put your trust in some higher power because we can't do it alone. And right now, I would say that things seem like they're scary. And right now, more than ever, I think we just need, um, faith, a lot of faith, and a lot of love. So that would be, if I had any, I don't know, perspective to, to give, that would be, that would be it for sure. Thank you so much for watching this video on TNH Afterlife.
