Did you know that putting your hashtags in the wrong place on your videos could be killing your reach? Or maybe you didn't realize that ignoring YouTube Shorts right now is ignoring the biggest opportunity that YouTube's ever offered for you to be able to get more views, more subscribers, and ultimately get monetized on YouTube. Well, those two things are absolutely nothing.

Cuz by the end of this video, I'm going to share with you five outdated YouTube tips that I keep seeing other people talk about. And these things are completely false. And I promise you, if you change these things, going to skyrocket your growth right now.

Updated piece of advice number one is to ignore YouTube Shorts. This is the biggest mistake that you could possibly make on YouTube right now. Because here's the deal. Everywhere that you look, you see YouTube Shorts. They're on your homepage. They're in the search results. They even have their own tab on YouTube mobile. If you aren't showing up there, then you're not building up real estate on YouTube in the most valuable place or the place that's only going to become even more and more valuable. Because here's the deal, YouTube isn't going to stop investing in YouTube shorts. In fact, they're only going to invest more into YouTube shorts. So, if you really want to increase your reach right now, you need to get way better at uploading YouTube shorts or you need to come up with a strategy where you could turn your long- form content and your lives into shorts incredibly easy without wasting a lot of your time.

Which brings me into advice number two, which is a mistake I see a lot of creators making right now. They're just making AI generated videos. And guess what? These videos aren't going to get reach because YouTube's going to shut them down. or even worse, you're just not going to be making content that actually resonates with your audience. Instead, what you should be doing is you should be leveraging AI in order to turn your long- form content and your lives into clippable moments that you could post on YouTube shorts and increase your reach. And I know what you're thinking, Rob, I don't have the time to do that. I don't know how to do that. I don't have the skills to do that. And I definitely don't have the money to hire somebody in order to do that. Well, guess what? There's actually a brand new AI tool that makes this incredibly easy for you to do. And that's exactly why it strongly suggests that you use Nexus Clips in order to do this for you because their AI is going to find the perfect video clip for you. It's going to edit it for you and it's even going to add subtitles. So, all you have to do is upload the long form video and boom, you're going to get viral shorts ideas straight from that that are ready to publish.

Here's how it actually works. So, you literally just log into Nexus Clips and sync up your YouTube channel. Now, you're going to see video to clips right here and you're going to see edit clip right here. Edit clip is if you already have a clip and you want it to do it or video to clips. If you want AI to actually generate clips for you, you simply click on create clip right here. You scroll down to the video that you want to create clips for. For example, this video right here. And then you drag and drop the video file in here. If you don't know how to do that, they have a very simple tutorial on how to actually do it. As you can see, this then goes through and processes and actually figures out what parts of the video that it should clip out. In addition to that though, I can highlight the top things that I actually want to do. For example, moments that demonstrate effective use of task scheduling or anything I put in here. So, I'm going to click this right here, click generate new moments. I'm going to skip this step, and boom, this is going to go through and actually generate those for me. So, now Nexus clip has literally gone through, made all these clips, and it gives you a score of how likely this is to potentially go viral. Now, if I click on this right here, all I have to do now is click create clip up here. I could go ahead and I can adjust the length. For example, I want this to be 17 seconds. Then I click into edit up here, which will bring me in here where I can now affect the hook. I could put different stickers on here. I can add subtitles. I could change the framing. And then boom, export this video. And that's exactly why I'd strongly suggest you go to the pin comment below and register for Nexus Clips today. This is an absolute no-brainer. It's going to help you increase your views, increase your subscribers without you doing extra work because their AI features are amazing.

Now, tip number three that's outdated is that you should just post whatever you want on YouTube and your audience is eventually going to find you. That is not how social media works anymore. The way that social media works now is it is all interest based. So, I want you to think about it like this cuz this is constantly changing literally on a daily basis. Let's say that you were going to choose between three different niches. You were going to post about affiliate marketing, you were going to post about fishing, or you were going to post about weight loss. Well, guess what? All three of those all have different audience sizes. So, let's say that fishing has 100,000 people, affiliate marketing has a million people, and then weight loss has 5 million people. Well, that's going to drastically change how many views you end up getting, how many subscribers you end up getting, and how much money you can make from each one of these niches. And no, bigger isn't always better. But even more further than that is inside of each of those, there are different topics that you could be posting about. For example, if you're posting about weight loss, you could post about dieting. You could post about exercise. Maybe you're posting about some type of weight loss drug or something like that. And guess what? Each one of those also has different audience interest sizes. And then as people's interests change, the views that you could get on that content also changes. So you need to stop just posting whatever you want. Instead, you need to be looking at what your ideal audience is interacting with right now, interacting with today, so that you can create content on that topic and actually have a good chance of getting views or subscribers.

Now, lucky for you, YouTube actually makes it incredibly easy for you to be able to figure out how many people are interested in whatever you're going to be uploading. So, if you come over into your analytics, you come over here into trends, you can come over here and you can do a search for whatever you're going to post about. For example, on this channel right here, I'm going to upload my next video about AI agents. So, if I type this in, this will show me that it has very high interest from my viewers. Now, let's say that I had an idea and I was going to make a video about Grock because this is an AI channel. If I type that in, this doesn't actually show anything. So, what does that tell me? This tells me that my audience isn't interested in this. And if I come over here and type in Gemini AI, I will see once again very high interest. And if I come over here and type in bigger biceps, guess what? Probably going to be low or no interest. Yep, very low interest. So, what does this mean? This means that my audience isn't interested in this. So, if you have a content idea and you want to make a video about that, make sure you come into analytics, come into trends, and type that in right here because it will tell you whether or not YouTube wants to push out that content to your audience.

In addition to that, what you could also do is come over in analytics, come over in audience, and then if you scroll down over here, you come under videos. This will show you what kind of content your audience has been engaging with recently. If you notice something here, Google Gemini, Google Gemini, Gemini. So, literally all the videos that my audience has engaging with in the last week are all related to Google Gemini. Now, guess what? If I come over to my content and I see what videos have gotten me the most views recently, this one's about Gemini, 20,000 views. This one's about Gemini, almost 40,000 views. And if I keep scrolling down a little bit, I am going to see same exact thing. Gemini, 12,000 views. All my videos as of recently that have done really good have been about that topic. Why? because YouTube is literally telling me and YouTube is literally begging me, hey Rob, this is what you should upload on on this channel and this is going to be different if you look at it on different channels. For example, if I come over to my other channel over here, we click on analytics, we click on trends right here in the top rightand corner and I type in Google AI. Guess what we are going to see? We are going to see that this doesn't show anything. Why doesn't it show anything? because this isn't what this audience likes. If I come over here and type in chatbt, guess what? It shows low interest. So again, this changes based on your channel. So you need to go into your analytics and look at this for your specific channel.

Updated advice number four is that you should just keep posting as much as you can. That isn't what you should be doing on YouTube. In fact, you should only be doing two things. One, you should be doing what I just shared with you in step number three, so you figure out exactly what topics you should be posting about. And then from there, you can make multiple pieces of content about each topic to give yourself multiple at bats because it might be the hook that was different, the format that was different, or maybe the time that you posted that was different that finally resonated with your audience. So, don't only take one bite at the apple when you know exactly what kind of content your audience actually wants to see.

In addition to that, you need to make sure that you follow two rules when it comes to how frequently you're posting on YouTube. First and foremost, I would stick to whatever cadence you think you can realistically do. If that's three times a week, great. If that's four times a week, great. If that's every day, great. But just stick to what you can actually build up an expectation with your audience on. For example, my audience knows to expect that I typically upload 6 to 7 days a week, so they know that I'm constantly pumping out new content. But other creators only post once a week or three times a week, but they're being consistent with that so their audience knows when to check for their content, especially if the YouTube algorithm doesn't show it to them.

In addition to that, whenever you have a post doing really well, if your latest post was a 1 out of 10, please take 24 to 48 hours off of posting. If you don't do this, you're actually going to get in the way of the YouTube algorithm. And I've made this mistake on my own channels several of times, and I see you guys make this mistake literally all the time. and I want you to stop it from making. If you have a past video that's still getting pushed out, that's fine. Your new video isn't going to ruin it. But if your latest video is getting pushed out, if you upload again within 24 to 48 hours, that video beginning to take off, what's going to end up happening is you are going to stomp out the YouTube's algorithm's ability to actually keep showing that content to new people. So, please don't make that mistake.

Then outdated advice number five is that you shouldn't have a call to action in your post. I don't know who is saying this. It's the dumbest advice that I have ever heard. Because here's the deal. Human beings need to be told what to do. And you should be telling them to only do one thing. So instead of telling people to share your content, like your content, do all these things in your content, get them to do one thing, and that one thing is that they should subscribe. Because subscribing is the biggest thing that somebody can do for the YouTube algorithm in order to say to YouTube, "Hey, I want to see more of this person's content, which will get you more views on your past videos." and more views on your future videos and it increase the odds that YouTube then shows your content to more people.

In fact, I want to prove this to you by literally showing you two videos that I have that basically have the same number of views, but the results that I got from them were drastically different because I ran an experiment and one of them has a call to action and the other one doesn't. Okay, now to prove this to you, let's actually check this out. If we come over here and we pull up my other YouTube channel and then we come over into content and then we come over into shorts and then we filter this by views. I want to show you exactly what I mean. So I have this video right here, 1.1.6 million views. I have this one 1.2 million views. So these videos basically have the same amount of views. One of them just has like 40,000 more views which really isn't that much in the context of videos that have gotten millions of views. But if we look at this video right here and come into the analytics, what you're going to notice is I only gained 3,000 subscribers from this video. You might think that that's a lot, but if we compare that to this other video that got the same amount of views, this one gained me almost 11,000 subscribers. And guess what the one difference was between those two videos? In this video, I had a call to action at the end of the video where I told people to smash that subscribe button if they want to grow faster on YouTube. In this other video, I didn't do that. In fact, literally this is the only difference between them. We could see that this video is 23 seconds, this video is 30 seconds, and that 7 seconds is me adding in that call to action. Well, guess what? Didn't end up hurting the views like most people think and like most outdated YouTube advice givers are saying out there. Instead, it actually helped me get more subscribers and it helped me make more money from this post. On top of that, you could see that this post got four times the amount of comments. Why? Because I'm actually engaging with people. I'm telling people to engage with me. And this is what people want to see on YouTube. They want to see a human aspect. It's not like you're begging them to subscribe to your channel. Just ask them to subscribe for a specific reason based on the video. Like obviously if you're watching my content, you want to grow faster on YouTube. So I say, "Hit the subscribe button if you want to grow faster on YouTube." It doesn't sound salesy, doesn't sound like a con, doesn't sound like any of those things. And instead, it sounds inviting. And you could do the same exact thing for your niche and your audience, no matter what kind of content you upload.

Now, if you want to grow faster on YouTube, the same exact way that I help this creator do it, this creator do it, and this creator do it, I want to work with you one-on-one in order to make that happen. Because if you feel like YouTube is hard right now, it doesn't have to be. I could literally tell you everything that you need to be doing differently. In fact, I've helped thousands of creators get monetized on YouTube, and I want to help you, too. So, if that sounds interesting, well, please check out this video right here that walks you through the three different ways that we can work together, and I can guarantee you you get more views, get more subscribers, and ultimately get monetized on YouTube. I'll see you over there.
