The king suddenly pushed the man into a pot of boiling water. Seeing this, the princess quickly took off her magic ring and threw it into the pot. The next second, the man shot out of the water and flew straight into the second pot, which was filled with ice water. The water was so cold that he instantly froze.
But at that moment, the phoenix he had saved earlier dropped one of its burning feathers into the pot. The heat melted the ice, and the man flew out of the pot once again. However, the third pot was filled with boiling milk. When the man fell into it, there was no movement at all. Everyone thought he had been cooked to death.
Just as the princess stood there heartbroken, his pet donkey grabbed a magical dandelion and threw it into the pot. A moment later, the man slowly rose from the milk, surrounded by a glowing magical light. Not only was he alive, but he had also become even more handsome than before.
Seeing this, the king believed the man's transformation was caused by the three magical pots he had prepared. Wanting to become young again, the greedy king jumped into the pot himself. But without the protection of the magic ring, he was instantly trapped inside a bubble and floated helplessly up into the sky.
Because the man had survived all three pots, the people finally chose him as their new king.
