The first word is a revolving door. These are revolving doors. Let's go.
And through the revolving doors, this is the hotel lobby. I'm standing in the lobby. We need to check in. This is the reception desk where you check in with the receptionists. To check in, you need your passport.
And here are some useful phrases you can use at the reception desk. "I have a reservation under the name J." "Hi, I booked a room under the name Jay." "Hi, it's 1:00 p.m. and my room is for 2 p.m. Can I check my bag in early?" "Okay, here is my passport." "I have a question. Is breakfast included?" "Yes." "Thank you."
We've just checked in, and now we need to go to our room. So, let's take the lift. This, guys, is a luggage trolley where you put your bags on. Normally, the concierge takes your bags. The concierge in the hotel is like your personal assistant who makes your experience more pleasant.
So, this is the lift. I'm pressing the button, and the lift is opening. So, right now, we're on the ground floor, and I'm taking the card and tapping it and pressing the number 21. Now, we don't say the 21 floor. We do say the 21st floor. We are going up to the 21st floor. We're on the 21st floor.
And down here is a corridor. A corridor. I'm walking down the corridor. But our room is not down there. It's not down that corridor. Our room is here. 211. Got the key card. Tapping the key card. Pushing down the handle and entering the room.
Welcome to MTV Crips. Welcome to my. Here we have the lounge area where you can relax on the sofa. In the UK, we say the lounge or the living room. You can use both. The space where you relax, watch TV, read a book.
Over here, we have the bedroom area where the magic happens. As you can see, they have beautifully laid out rose petals on our bed. These are rose petals from the rose flower. They have made towels into the shape of two swans. Swans are those birds that make the love heart shape. Like so.
On the bed, we have very soft pillows. These pillows have feathers inside. They're super soft. We have the duvet. The duvet is like a blanket but thicker. It's a French word that we took. English people like to take things next to the bed. We have a bedside table. In the UK, we call this a bedside table. In America, they call this a nightstand. You can use whichever you like.
Welcome to the balcony area where, to your right-hand side, you can see a beautiful ocean view. This is not one for the faint-hearted. Are you scared of heights? When I look over the steep drop, it gives me butterflies in my stomach.
Let's go back inside. Stop. This is a curtain. I can close it. I can open the curtain. Or, in British English, I can draw the curtain. I'm drawing the curtain. You can also draw a bath, which is to run the bath. I just drew a bath.
Now, let's go rest. Let's close these sliding doors and relax. I am lying down on a sofa, and behind me are cushions. This is a cushion. A cushion goes on a sofa. A pillow goes on a bed.
Now, the hotel, the staff in the hotel have prepared us some lovely gifts as it is Man and Chang's anniversary. We've already half eaten the cake. And here we have a basket of fruits. There is a small bunch of grapes. We have a tangerine, a guava, very good source of vitamin C, and a small apple with a beautiful decorative purple flower.
They also brought us a coconut and a straw. So, I am poking the straw into the coconut. Oh, no. I'm not problem-solving in real time. The straw won't open the coconut. So, I'm using a fork. The end parts of the fork, the spiky parts, are called prongs. So, I'm going to use the prongs of the fork to pierce. Pierce. It just popped all over my face.
"Squirting." "Yeah, the coconut just squirted." Okay, I've just pierced the coconut with the prongs of the fork. "Need a hole." "I've got the hole and I'm sticking my straw inside." "Very sensual."
[Music] "It tastes good. It squirted in my eye, but it tastes nice." This fruit, cake, and coconuts was all complimentary. Complimentary means free. Free of charge.
Speaking of free things, let's go check out the mini bar. And if you come down here with me, we have the mini bar, which I have some beef with. I have a problem with. In the hotels, they call this a mini bar, which it's not. It's a fridge. They should call it a fridge, but for the sake of this English, we'll call it a mini bar.
Inside the mini bar or fridge, we have a packet of Haribo gummy bears. In England, we call these sweets and not candy. In America, they call this candy. We say sweets. And we have some cans. This is a can of Sprite, which is lemonade. And if you're feeling cheeky, a can of Heineken, which is a lager. A lager is a type of beer that is light, crisp, and refreshing. I'll probably have one of them later. Not now, though.
Up here, we have a few things. A glass. Two glasses. They are see-through. I can see you through the glass. We also call that transparent. This glass is see-through or transparent. This is not transparent. This is a mug. And a mug is opaque. Opaque means you can't see through it. If I put the mug up to the camera, you cannot see my face. We call this opaque, not see-through.
Now, speaking of mugs, I'm thirsty. Let me go. "I can't let you go, baby." "I just want to tell you that." "No, no, no."

Now, I'd like to show you guys the pool area. Learn some more English. All right. This is the pool area. And this is a life ring. A life ring is used to keep you alive. And I am wearing this life ring. Well, don't know why. I'm weird.

So, down here, we have the swimming pool. In the swimming pool, there is a chemical. The chemical is called chlorine, and that's what gives it the funny smell. Chlorine helps kill the bacteria because many people swim in the pool, and people are dirty. Right now, it's winter. It's a bit chilly. I'm wearing my jumper, so I'm not going to take a dip. I'm not going to go in the pool, but I want to keep training our English instead. So, let's go up to the gym. Time to get fit.
Welcome to our private gym. In the gym, we have cardio, which is running, cycling, anything that works your heart, your cardiovascular system. I'm getting on the treadmill. So, this is a treadmill. I am walking on the treadmill. Generally, when we begin a workout, we warm up. To warm up is to get your body loose, get your body moving before the main workout. That's cardio done. Now, let's move on to weight training.
This is the free weights section. These are dumbbells. Right now, I am doing bicep curls with these dumbbells. We call these free weights, and I am weight training. I am training my muscles to get bigger. Now, I'll put the dumbbells back, and we'll head over to the machines.
This is a lat pull-down machine. You pull down this bar, and it trains your lats. Example, [Music] your lats are these muscles here. They connect under your shoulder and into your lower back. This is an exercise ball. I'm bouncing on the exercise ball, and I hope it doesn't pop.
[Music] Let's put that back now before we get kicked out. I am parched. Parched means very thirsty. So, this is a water dispenser or a water cooler. I'm taking a paper cup and filling it up with cold water. Now, I'm going to quench my thirst. I just took a sip of water, and it quenched my thirst. Now I feel satisfied. My thirst is quenched.

[Music] So, I am carrying the tray outside, and let's put this down on the table. Lovely breakfast with a view. Oh, yes. What have we got on our tray? Well, we have two bowls of pho. Pho is a traditional noodle dish in Vietnam that they eat with breakfast. And for me, in the UK, it's not so common to eat noodles with broth, but I love it. I am a convert.
We have these bowls of pho, one with chicken, one with beef. With the pho comes some dark leafy greens, very good for you, some bean sprouts, a chili for the spice, and some Thai basil, which has a very strong aroma. An aroma is a scent. A scent is a smell. There is also a wedge of lime, which you squeeze into your bowl of pho. It comes with a jug. This jug is metal, and it's the broth. The broth is the liquid that you pour over your noodles. I am pouring the broth into the bowl of pho.
After the pho, we have some fresh fruit: slices of watermelon, mango, dragon fruit, grapes, and some very cute, very tiny strawberries. After all the healthy stuff, of course, we have some unhealthy stuff to balance it out. We have some chocolate fondant, which is like a cake with melted chocolate in the middle, and that oozes out. Good word that, to ooze. That chocolate is oozing out. And we have some ice cream that's melting very fast.
This whole thing is called a tray, and the tray is quite heavy. So good. After eating my breakfast, I'm slightly hot in my robe. But that's not the final word of the day. The final word of the day is nourishing. Nourishing means something that gives you good energy to keep you healthy and strong. This pho and this breakfast was extremely nourishing.
