All right, I would have liked to make this earlier, but, uh, the Earth rotated around the Sun, everything got a little crazy, and I wasn't able to focus on what's really important. And what's really important is making my case for being your League champion. Uh, that's a responsibility that I'm willing to bear for the next year, until, of course, I win it again next year, and the year after that, the year after that. You get the point.
Um, anyway, if there are, if there are any ball knowers in the chat, which, uh, I'm honestly not convinced about, just seeing the way that that you guys seem to think you know ball, you'll remember a segment on NFL Network called "The NFL" which was presented by Dave Damashek, um, some 10 years ago, where he would run through various wacky, but not so wacky, scenarios. Uh, sort of like a butterfly effect, but for the NFL. Very example, if the Tuck Rule went differently, how that would have changed the the the the landscape of the league. So, what I'm going to do is something similar, but for our fantasy football league. And let's see how that ended up.
Uh, just to give you a brief refresher, we're going to start at the standings. Let's see how everything ended up, and let's see where people landed. So, we can see in the East, uh, Jeff won the division. Um, Jackson, he came in second in the division, himself a playoff spot. Uh, here's me down here, six and eight. That was like the third highest score, though. Um, because my team is good, like that. Highlight. So, we've highlighted my team. And then, uh, Jacob, by some grace of divine intervention, finished 10 and four. I truly am pretty dumbfounded at how that happened. That that has, that doesn't make sense to me. Uh, anyway, rest of these guys came in. And then Adam finished seven and seven. I've highlighted Adam here. We'll come back to that in a little while. Just keep that in mind. Adam, seven and seven. Me, six and eight. That's going to matter later.
Uh, and now we can look at the playoff picture. So, or the playoff brackets, how how did those go? Uh, we could see that Adam won his first matchup against Josh. Uh, Jackson won his first matchup against Yousef. Uh, then Adam went ahead and beat Jackson. And then Jeff, no, Adam, Adam beat, uh, Jacob or something. I, yeah. And then, uh, Jeff beat, yeah. And then Jeff ended up kind of destroying Adam in the finals. So, it was not fun to watch. It was not a good viewer experience. It was very reminiscent of the Georgia TCU game last year, a team that shouldn't have gotten in, but did anyway, and then gets destroyed when they're on the main stage.
Uh, in the consolation bracket, we can see that I've, I've highlighted my team over here, just to ease your eyes on the pathway. Uh, just significant victories over everybody, all leading up to a completely dominant performance against Griffin's team in the seventh-place game. Okay, cool. So, and once again, by the way, I highlighted Adam. Just follow his path. Keep it in mind. It's going to come in handy later.
So, what you're probably thinking is like, okay, why did I not make playoffs? Why, you know? And, uh, and what's the point? What's the point in all of this? If, you know, the numbers don't lie. Uh, I didn't make the playoffs. I didn't win enough games. The numbers don't lie, but they don't tell the whole truth either. Uh, so, what we're going to do is look at my last four games of the regular season. Four games that I lost. I lost the last four games of the regular season. Going through the postseason, let's check them out.
Week 11 against Wyatt. We lost a nailbiter, a nailbiter by just a hair over a point, okay? Week 12, we got blown out by Josh. Week 13, we got blown out by Yousef. And week 14, we lost a pretty close game, uh, decided by 12 and a half points. None other than Adam. Keep that in mind. We'll come back to that as well soon.
First, let's dive into this one, this week 11 performance against Wyatt. Uh, this one sucks. This one, uh, this one hurts to to report on a little bit. And it hurts more because my kicker, Joey Sly, he missed an extra point this game, docking me one point. It would have been 151.50. I don't exactly know how the ESPN scoring system works, whether that would have been a tie by just closeness or probably not. Either way, and but the fact remains that, you know, maybe one other thing could have happened. Had Joey Sly not missed that extra point, one other guy gets a catch, uh, and then this is a win. I I move to seven and eight instead of six and seven. Seven statistics, eight. Uh, fact remains, I lost this game. I set my lineup. All my guys played. All my guys did their best. And we lost. So, I'm not gonna act like that's a fantastic argument.
But, um, let's get into a game that, uh, that paints a little bit more of a picture, okay? Let's get into my week 14 game against Adam. Now, what's important about this game is that the winner of this game got into the playoffs. That was what we knew would happen. Uh, I believe the scenario was like, either Griffin or Jeremy had to lose, and I think they both lost. And if one of those two teams lost, then the winner of our game gets in, just based on, uh, scoring and record and all that. So, Adam ended up beating me 141.5 to 128.78, uh, to get into the playoffs. He secured that spot. 12 and a half point victory.
And once again, we're going to go through this a little more in depth. Trevor did his thing, not great, not terrible. Jamir did his thing, solid performance. Gus Edwards, terrible. The wheels fell off the Gus bus this week, I'm gonna be honest. Tyreek Hill, 10.1. That's weird. Harry Hill's the best receiver in the league. Harry Hill's the best receiver league I've seen in a while. Why is he only putting up 10.1 points? Maybe, just maybe, it's because he was the victim of a dirty play, hip drop tackle, took him out of the game in the first half. He would come back in and he would catch a few passes and get some yards and get up to 10.1, but it was clear that he could not take any contact. Whenever they threw him the ball, he was either getting out of bounds or that that was it. He was he was going to get out of bounds to not catch it because if he got hit, then who knows, his his entire leg could bust it open. Now, I would have needed 13 more points from Tyreek Hill to win this game. This is a game, by the way, that the Dolphins ended up losing. So, you can be sure that they would have been looking for Tyreek Hill all day had he been healthy and and been been himself that day. So, could he have gotten those 13 points? I would say, yeah, easily.
And just to give you a gentle reminder that how much Tyreek Hill dominated you guys this year and showed up in nightmares, let's look at his game log. How many 40-point, how many 30, 40-point performances? Is this too many to count to say he couldn't have gotten 13 more points here, had he not been the victim of a dirty play, is ridiculous. He would have gotten those points. I would have been in the playoffs. Oh, but how would I have gone? I've done anything in the playoffs? There's other good teams in there. Well, I've taken the liberty of finding out. See, a lot of teams, they roll over and die when they don't make the playoffs. My guys, we had a point to prove, and they knew that going in, and they were going to play their hearts out. So, I went ahead and took my scores from the consolation bracket and put them in the path of Adam. Now, keep remember what I said, the winner of this game got in. Adam ended up getting the five seed. So, I would have gotten the five seed had I won that game, had Tyreek Hill not gotten hurt. So, round one, dominant victory, 119 to 60. Wasn't even close. Uh, we move on. We move on, and that's that. We don't even need to talk more about this game. Round two, not as dominant, admittedly. One by 27. That's a significant margin of victory. Definitely covered the spread on that game. But nothing too crazy. Nothing my team isn't used to.
Now, here's where we get to the finals. And, you know, Jeff, his team, he he was a good GM all year, I'll give him that. A little bit greasy, but, but he was trying to do what was best for his team, and it showed in the championship match. What did he put up? He put up one 152.78 to 151.504. It would have been the most electric championship game that this fantasy league has ever or will ever see. Tyreek Hill being the victim of a dirty play has robbed us of that.
Now, I will bear the weight of this responsibility, and I will claim this championship as my own. I believe that is the right thing to do. I don't expect the Venmo, um, and frankly, I don't want that dirty money. I know my guys had what it takes and did what it takes. Sometimes the chips just don't fall the right way. We'll be back next year, better than ever. Until then, I am the reigning champion.
