Cloud Code just got its own version of cron jobs, and they run on the cloud even when your laptop is off.
Anthropic just launched something called Routines inside Cloud Code, and it's kind of a big deal for developers. You know how n8n lets you automate tasks by connecting tools together? Routines do the exact same thing, except instead of you building the logic step by step, Claude figures it out on its own.
You write a prompt, connect it to your GitHub repo and tools like Slack or Linear. Set a trigger, and Claude just runs it on a schedule, from an API call, or every time someone opens a pull request.
So, imagine this: Every night, Claude reads your backlog, labels new issues, assigns owners based on your codebase, and drops a clean summary in your team's Slack channel. Where n8n and Zapier need you to define every single step manually, Claude just reads the goal and figures out the steps itself.
And the results are real. Teams using this dropped their PR review rounds from 2.3 to just 1.4 automatically. That's the shift. Claude isn't just answering questions anymore. It's doing the work on its own, on a schedule, while you sleep.
The feature launched on April 14th as a research preview. Pro users get five runs a day, and Max users get 15.
