You’re Asking God for Help… But You’re Out of Position

[Music] For some of you, God is not covering you in the way he wants to because you don't want to be covered. No, no, no. Listen to me. You want the blessings, but you don't want the covering. You do. You want the outcomes, but you don't want the process. And some of you don't mind God guarding you, but you don't want to be guided by God. Am I talking to anybody? You want to pray that the Lord bless you, but you get to decide how you spend it. You got a gift and you want to blow up, but you get to decide. I'm telling you, I don't care how hard you work. I don't care how hard you toil. I don't care how much money you pay for stuff. There are certain levels you will never get to unless you allow God to send that right person to cover you. Because when you are obedient to a covering, it shows God something about you that your talent alone doesn't show [Music] God.

Today's sermon is called Covered. Praise God. And I realized that I got into a certain place in my life not because I was perfect, but because I was covered. No, no. I'm sorry. I received the covering. Yes, sir. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Please hear what I'm saying. Like, I got to a point where I was like, "Okay, God, I'm ready for the covering." Amen. And I and I had to tell God I was ready for the covering because if I can be transparent, the reason why I had to go to God for the covering is because at a very young age, I rebuked the covering. Amen. And I'm talking to my babies, too. I'm talking to my grown folk, but I really want to talk to my babies as well.

I got to take you back before I was able to like Joshua, wherever I put my foot. And I was probably 8 years old. I was 8 years old. Let me tell y'all something. We got to be careful because you can you can build a relationship with God and still have a toe of character. Amen. I'm just being real. You can do both at the same time. And when I was eight years old, my mom sent me to a religious camp. Now, I don't know why she sent me. I always say she sent me because she didn't just want me hanging out in the streets of Detroit in the summertime. A lot of stuff go crazy in the summer. So my mom sent me to this camp. It was the first time. Now we wasn't reading the Bible at the crib, right? Genius, right? Mom was genius. So she sent me to this camp and it was like a 10-day boy and it's like we were in Port Huron. So we was nowhere close to the city. It was a different environment. It was crazy. And so this is where I first figured out like who Noah was. This is when I first figured out David and Goliath, like all these stories. And I remember being on this campus and I remember me and God getting close. And so, it's crazy because my heart was getting close to God, but my character wasn't. But we serve a God who's good. He'll work with you where you are and he'll begin to develop you. Is that all right? Come on. I don't know if anybody Okay, maybe y'all all got with God and your character was tight. Okay, I'm sorry. You know what I'm saying? Maybe I was the only one, right?

And so, I was falling in love with the Lord. I was reading the Bible. I was starting to sing songs and I told y'all, "Forgive me. I didn't grow up in church." So, I was singing uh uh Anita Baker to God. Praise God. I want that same old love 365 days of the year. I, you know, I didn't mean no harm. Amen. Sweet love, don't you ever go away. I ain't mean no harm, but we just didn't we ain't had no hymns at the crib, right? So, I was just singing all my songs to God. And so, my my heart for God was growing, but my character was going in the opposite direction. And so I was 8 years old and I remember going I remember loving the Lord and I remember coming home. But what God wanted me to do was he wanted me to take the same word that I was reading and apply it to my life. And we have to be careful cuz you can read the word and not apply it to your life. And so on one hand I was growing closer to God. On the other hand I was growing further away from my mother. Praise God.

And I was 12 years old. I y'all read the book. I was 12 years old when I finally got the heart to ask my mom like, "Yo, mom, for real, is this my father or not?" My mind was like, "Nope, but I I was going to tell you." I was like, "Okay, when was you going to tell me?" And so, as my heart grew closer to God, my my my my heart grew cold toward my mom. And so, I toyed away with running away from home at 12. I did it. I was 12 years old. I first time I ran away from the crib, I was gone for about three days. And on the fourth day, I was like, "All right, you ain't ready yet. you got to go back to the crib. Right? You hear what I'm saying? I ain't go back home with the my heart in the right place. I just went back home because it was too dangerous. And so I started this pattern of running away from home from 12 years old to 16. And by the time I was 16, I was like, "Yeah, I'm ready to leave for good now. I I you know what I'm saying? Like I ain't scared no more." What I didn't realize though is I wasn't running away from home. I was running away from my covenant. I was running away from my covering.

Now, I want y'all to hear what I'm saying. The Bible says in and and in Exodus, you have absolutely it does not give you an out. It says, "Honor your mother and father." Like, for real, if you read Exodus 20 and you go all the way through, there's no out. My mama didn't do this and my daddy didn't do this, there's no out for honoring thy mother and father. There's no clause. There's no clause in the word that says, "If my mama do this and my daddy do this, then I got the right to do this." I absolutely not. I but because I didn't understand what my mother was doing because I didn't sit down and have a conversation with my mother because I got angry and the devil was geek. The devil was like, "Yep, keep learning about the word but keep your heart hardened." And so listen to me very closely. So I left home for good when I was 16 years old. I'm talking about Detroit. Like for real, for real. I'm talking about standing in the abandoned buildings. I'm talking about walking around 2:00, 3:00 in the morning. And stuff started to happen in my life that wasn't productive. And as I look back, it was it wasn't productive because I left my covering. Now I I God could care less how I felt about my mom. God could care less how I felt about the person that was raising me. God was like, "That don't got nothing to do with me that ain't your biological father. All thing all things all things work together for the good. I got you with the right mama. I got you with the right daddy. I got you in the right." But for me, I was like, "Okay, God. I'm looking at Please forgive me, y'all. I know y'all don't do this, but I was looking at everybody else who had their biological parents and I both they parents and they both was married and I was making a whole lot of assumptions and I was saying, "Okay, God, why do they have their fathers and I don't have my father? I need to leave." And God was saying, "You don't need to leave your covering, son. You need to stay in your covering." But but because I didn't understand what was going on and what was happening, I didn't understand my mom. I thought, you know, she ain't doing this and she ain't doing this. She wrong. I actually left my cover. And I could tell y'all the worst years of my life was that time I was homeless. And it wasn't because I was homeless. It was because I didn't have any covering. Praise God. I'm talking to somebody today.

Now, now what I did have was independence, but I ain't have covering. What I what I did have was this rebellious spirit, but I had no covering. And I want to walk you through the word. I want you to see in the word that every man and God uh ma uh man and woman that we see that God covered and and they did wonderful things for God, none of them was on none of them was on the solo. They were all covered. They were all covered by God or they were covered by God and angels. And they were covered by God, angels and by man. Praise God. And I and I want you to do me a huge favor. I want you to I want you to identify this morning. Are you covered? Are you covering or are you doing both? Good. I'm gonna take my time. I'm gonna say that one more time. There are some places in the spirit that you will never experience. There are some carnal realms that you will never dominate as long as you have an independent spirit. And I'm telling you from personal experience, like, no, no, no. I tell these kids all the time, y'all soft. Y'all keep talking about your mama. Y'all soft. I left mine. Y'all soft. I I literally lived in abandoned buildings. I literally ate out of trash cans. Y'all soft. Y'all talk about y'all parents and y'all talk about how y'all want to be covered with them. No, but you still right there. Listen to me. I had a very independent, rebellious spirit. And God said to me, "Son, I've got Jeremiah 29:11. I got plans for you, but those plans will never happen until you come in alignment with the right men and women of God and stay in that covering." Praise God. Praise God. Praise God. Let's go. I just want to show you what the biblical meaning for it real quick. Praise God. So God's protective alignment both divine which is celestial and human which is relational. Listen to me as you go through the word of God. I promise you there we do we do not see where God is covering man and man is just being covered by God. Anytime we see man being covered by God, he's also covered by a woman or man of God. Praise God. Say celestial and relational. Come on. You need both. is not one or the other. It's both. Amen. Praise God.

And so, there are those of us who are who are who are right now in our lives, we're not being covered. And I and I want you to do me a huge favor. I I just want you to tell me how comfortable you are with covering. Be honest. Be honest. Like a lot of us, for real, you have people who cover you. And when those people try to cover you and they tell you something like you don't want to hear it. So, I just want you to be honest for just 30 seconds. I just want you to you and God talk like how how because for some of you God is not covering you in the way he wants to because you don't want to be covered. No, no, no. Listen to me. You want the blessings, but you don't want the covering. You do. You want the outcomes, but you don't want the process. Amen. And there's a process. So, I just want you to be honest with God for just for a second. No. Talk to God. God, just be real. Scale to 1 to 10. 10 being the highest God. I'm about a five on covering. Like I really don't like to be told what to do. I really like to be in control and when I'm not God, I don't feel comfortable. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. We want the blessings of covering. We definitely want wherever we put our foot to be blessed. But do we want to be covered? Hallelujah. And we're going to walk through the word, but I just want you to I you got to get this part be because if we do the word and you hear the word and you're excited about the word, but you don't know where you stand with the word, it's not going to be transformational. You have to be honest like, nope, I'm I really want to do what I want to do when I want to do it. Or sometimes I want to be, but I don't really like to be. I'm going to show you that there are some places professionally you will never get to if you're not covered. No, no, no, no, no, no. will never get covered if you don't get covered in a certain way. There are opportunities that your talent will never take you that only covering can. No, no, no, no, no. There are some places in your relationships that if you don't get covered by the right Oh, praise God. I wish I had time. Praise God. Me and Deei was just testifying the other day about uh a couple individuals in our lives earlier in our lives. Amen. Come on. Let me say this. Can I say this? Let me say this without being disrespectful, but I want to let me just put it like this. There are times when God has something so powerful you that the average like the person or the people that in your life, no disrespect, but they can't cover you in the way that God and sometime God got to bring a different type of covering. Amen. I Okay.

And I don't mean no harm. I I just remember that when I was a speaker where I was and where I was after me and Les Brown talked. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I'm trying to tell y'all. I'm trying to tell you you weren't there. But I remember Les Brown called me and Less Brown was like, "Hey, I've watched you young man. You got an anointing. We need to talk." And I was like, "Okay, when can you talk?" He was like, "When can you talk?" That was I Carl, I don't want to lie. That might have been Sunday or Monday. And me and Carl was on a flight two days later in Orlando. We had bought a hotel. We had faked it like we was big time. We had bought a hotel. We had got a suite. We had the suite set up. Les Brown came in. We sat down and talked. And Les Brown said to me, "Do me a huge favor, young man. I'm covering you. You're the best in the world. Don't you ever say I'm the best. Don't you ever say Tony Robbins the best. You're the best. I'm telling you, Carl wasn't even a speaker. And we both walked out of there like I'm tell Carl Ry, I'm not playing. When Les Brown, who was the best of the best, told me like, "Bro, you the one." And then I remember Bob Proctor sitting down with me and Bob Pro, I'm telling you, I don't care how hard you work. I don't care how hard you toil. I don't care how much money you pay for stuff. There are certain levels you will never get to unless you are you allow God to send that right person to cover you. Because when you are obedient to a covering, it shows God something about you that your talent alone doesn't show God. I'm just be I'm just want to be honest with y'all there. I don't care how gifted you are. Amen. You will not impress God with your gift. He gave you a gift before you were born. If covering requires transformation, God knows that when you allow somebody to cover you, that is saying something about your development. I'm gonna say that one more time just in case you didn't catch it. I'm I'm saying to you that when you operate at the highest level that you can operate in your gift, when you braid hair like nobody else has braided hair, when you hoop the way nobody else has hoop, I'm telling you right now that when people see your talent, they go, but when people see your character, they like, uh-oh. And let me tell you something. It takes it takes a very special person to be covered. And it takes a very special person to cover.

Now, I want to say this. Some of you are in a place in your life you just need to be covered. But some of you and we we we read about it last week where where Ruth Naomi been covering you for a real long time. It's time for you to start covering. And some of you will never go to the next level as long as you just receive and covering. You've been doing that for the last 10, 20 years now. It's time to shift and it's time to stop looking for someone or that person to cover you. And now it's time to realize that Naomi has had a loss. She lost her husband. She lost her children. She lost her identity. She lost her jour. She lost it all. And she's saying, "God, what have you done to me? God, why have you done this to me?" And Ruth is smart enough to go, "This is not time to bail on Naomi." No, I'm just being real. Some of you are never going to get to the next level because the people that bless you, when they can't bless you no more, then you start walking away from those individuals. You go, "Well, you can't bless me no more. So, there's absolutely nothing in this relationship I can gain. I don't see the benefit of this relationship no more. Oh no. I'm here to tell you that God is watching. And God watched both Oprah and Ruth. Amen. And we don't know what happened to Oprah. We don't have a slightest idea. We don't hear about her anymore. But we hear about Ruth. Why? Because as soon as Ruth realized that the season of me getting covered is over. And now I need to walk in the season of covering. God said, "I got some stuff for you. That husband you say you wanted, I'm about to give you one. Hallelujah. That not only am I about to give you a husband, the stuff you say you wanted, matter of fact, I'm going to give you some stuff that eyes have not seen and ears have not heard and neither has it entered into your heart, Ruth. But I told y'all the biggest part was not just the stuff, but because she was in alignment with Naomi. Now all of a sudden when you read about Ruth, she is in alignment with the lineage of Jesus Christ and she is now part of the family of Bethlehem. Ah, you missed what I just said. Not only was she covered, now she covering and now she got everything. Some of you, your next level is not going to come from people blessing you. Your next level is going to be you covering the people that covered you while they in a position now to not be covered. Praise God. I'm sorry. God's protective alignment both divine, celestial, human relational that shields. Your gift don't shield you. Your talent don't shield you. That sustains you. Your talent don't sustain you. Your gifts don't sustain you. And secure your assignment. Praise God. All right, let's go. All right. He He will cover you. Praise God. He will cover you with his feathers and under his wings. H you will find refuge. His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart, a defense wall for fortification. Come on. Am I talking to anybody? So, let me say this to you. Amen. Praise God. Uh, some, we were talking earlier today. Let me just say this to you. There's some things that could have happened to me that did not happen to me because of who covered me. Praise God. Praise God. I was homeless. For real. For real. Yep. Yep. in abandoned buildings with people watching me, watching when I would leave, watching when I would come. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. I was 16 years old. Amen. I could have gone this way. I could have gone that way. But but but God was so good that he knew like, "Boy, you out here with no covering." So the first covering I'm going to give you is, listen to me, is a kid that he he wasn't even from my neighborhood. He was from another neighborhood. And some kind of way his his grandfather moved closer to where I lived on Seven Mile. and my boy Bob, Robert King, became my first covering. And I remember we used to be on the streets and cats would be smoking weed and just all kind of crazy stuff. And Bob would be like, "He don't smoke. Don't give that to him. He don't smoke." Talking about cover me. Folks was selling dope. Be was like, "No, don't don't do that. He don't he don't he don't use drugs." Like, he good. He don't do that. We just go to

Church on Sabbath. You know what I’m saying? He not into that. B was like, “Hey, E, you need to do me a huge favor, bro. You need to get out of here, bro. You need to get your GD and you need to go to Oakwood. That’s my first covering. That’s my first covering.” Hey AE, it’s about to go down, bro. And um, you know what I’m saying? Folks going to be, you know, it’s going it’s going down. E, do me a favor. Like get from over here. You don’t need to be over here right now.

Let me tell you something. My boy Bob used to be in trap houses, y’all. Like getting it in. I never went to a trap house. Like E, do me a favor. Stay here until I get back. I was covered. You want to pray that God will put people in your life that don’t pray on you but cover you. And I’m not even talking about praying on you because of them. I’m talking about like because of who you are. We were all born in sin and shaped in iniquity. I just I’m going to say it this way that there’s some places that I would not be had it not been for cut. Bob told me about Oakwood. I didn’t even know Oakwood existed. I had never heard of Oakwood a day in my life. He was the one that first gave me the pathless and was telling me all about it. And his grandfather used to always say, “Bob, you should be okay. I listen to me. I experienced Jonathan before I even knew who he was in the Bible.”

So, let’s go over this real quick. I need you to study this when you get home. Don’t just be listening to me. So, the importance of covering. So, divine. Yep. God’s cloud by day and fire by night. Praise God. It provided direction, his presence, and guidance. Listen to me. I know. Oh, I know we got social media and I know you just think if you go viral, I promise you. I promise you that social media is not going to do it. But if you got God as your covering, I promise you, I promise you, you going to be all right. Amen. I’m going to say that one more time. I promise you, your money is not what you think it is. I promise you, your degrees will not do what you think they going to do. I promise you, whatever organization or institution you feel like going to take you to the promised land, I promise you that’s not you. Whatever man you think or want, I promise you the very first covering you want is from the father, son, and the holy spirit. Praise God.

And I’m excited because the Bible is so good. The Bible says in the Old Testament that that God literally was a cloud by day. Can you can Okay, so all right. I I there’s an older lady in my neighborhood and she walks and and I guess she I don’t know maybe some her and the son they don’t get along. I promise you every day this old lady walk she got an umbrella that’s about 8 feet tall and she got that joker covering her while she walking. Imagine that is God following you everywhere you go.

Now here’s what you have to understand though. You have to understand that God is with you but you have to receive it. Yes, the cloud is there, but if you don’t receive the cloud, the cloud. Yes, sir. The fire by night. Come on. I don’t know if y’all ever been somewhere in the desert when it get cold. You ever been to Vegas when it was 30°? Like, it’s a different cold. It goes through your bones. And the Bible says that God was their AC, that God was their heater, that God was their food, that God gave them water, that God was their complete sustenance when they were covered. I’m telling you right now, some of the stuff you see people do, they’re doing it because they’re covered.

Now, no disrespect to Woody Williams, but I remember when she put a post up where she said something about Tab, and I promise you, I just remember like, oo, Tab is covered. Oh, like, uh-oh, that’s not that might not be one you want to go after. It became apparent immediately after the sound went out, it became apparently immediately as her numbers went up, as she started to go to another as the way she dealt with it. She didn’t even deal with it. Oh no, you hit me, I hit you back, you strike. The way she did it was so divine and you could tell she was covered. And I’m telling you right now, professionally, if you covered by God, I promise you that wherever you put, I promise you in your relationships, if you covered by God, the only problem with God though, if he covers you, you got to be obedient. If he covers you, you got to listen. If he covers you, he going to give you some direction. If he covers you, you got to do what he tells you to do. And then if that’s not enough, he does angels. The Bible said he interfered and protected Lot. And then relationally it was Jonathan for David. Loyalty, advocacy, defense. And then the spiritual leadership, Aaron, her for Moses. Strength, support, shared responsibility, and finally the covenant mutual boy. Rahab and the spies. Honor, faith, divine protection.

Now, I’m going to go through the word real quick. Here’s what I want you to do. I want you to say, “God, yep, that’s the kind of covering I want.” Right? Just say it now with me. God, that’s the kind of covering I want. So the first one is divine covering. I want you to stop right now and I want you to pray and ask God to give you divine covering right now. Stop what you’re doing. Pray. You talk to God on your own. God, number one, I want divine covering. I want that cloud by day, that fire by night. And I’m willing to make whatever sacrifice it take to get it. Help me, Holy Ghost. I want I want to be I’m already covered. I want to receive the covering. That’s it. That’s it. I I just been I just been rebellious. I just been independent.

And I’m telling y’all, I know. I’m talking about I was 12 years old. 13 years old in in garages. 13 years old walking the streets of Detroit. 13 years old. Not want to go back home. I had that rebellious rebellious spirit. That demonic spirit, that satanic spirit. God said, “I love you, son, and you love me, but I can’t take you to the next level until you receive the covering. Right now, you’re not receiving it.” And as soon as I got to a point where I prayed and was like, “God, I’m ready to receive it.” Out of nowhere, my boy Bob called me like, “What you on?” I’m like, “I’m homeless, bro.” He’s like, “Start going to church with me.” We started going to church and we started reading. I listen to me. I was in detention. I was so bad. I was in detention on Saturday at a public school. And Bob had me reading the book of Daniel and the book of Revelation. And I was in detention for about two to three hours. And I was just reading the word. Are you listening to what I’m saying?

Immediately when I prayed and said, “God, I’m tired of doing it my way. God, I’m tired of being rebellious. God, I’m try I’m tired of being isolated. God, I’m tired of doing it my way. Help.” Out of nowhere, my boy Bob and y’all listen to me. Y’all didn’t say amen. But this is a time where it was no cell phones. It was real hard to get in touch with people back in the day when it was payones. Some kind of way Bob got in touch with me. And I’m telling you, from that day forward, we never separated. Let’s go to the word. Let’s go to the word. All right. So, this is Exodus 13:21. I just want to take you through the word, right? I want to take you through the word. The Lord went before them. By day, a pillar of cloud, and by night, a pillar of fire. God didn’t just give instruction. He stayed with them. He guided and guarded them. That’s what you want to pray for. God, I’m I’m a human. God, I was born in sin. God, I was shaped iniquity. God, just being honest. I make certain decisions and I know they not right, but I keep making them because they’re mine. That’s listen to me. That’s when you know you’re not covered. You know the stuff you doing ain’t right, but you’re still doing it anyway. Why? Because it’s your way because you get to do what you want to do when you want to do it. When you look at it, there’s no evidence that the spirit of God is on it. When you look at it, there’s no evidence that the Lord is shining through that. When you look at it, you can see that that is something that is of the devil. But you keep doing it. We keep doing it. Why? Cuz I wanted to be away from my mom. Cuz I didn’t like the life she gave me. I didn’t like the fact that she lied. I didn’t like the fact that everybody else had their daddy, their real daddy, their biological father, and I didn’t have mine. I wasn’t interested in what God has set up. I wasn’t interested in the way that God did it. Are you listening to what I’m saying? At no point in my life did I say all things work together for the good. At no point did I give my mom any mercy. At no point did I give my mom any grace. That’s how I knew it was satanic. It was satanic. Just because I was doing it didn’t make it right. It was satanic. I was literally in Detroit in the winter. I’m talking about feeling frostbitten, but I wanted to do what I wanted to do. And even though I felt like I was going to die, even though it was times that I put myself in a position where people try to take my life, I did not make a transition because I wanted to do what I wanted to do when I wanted to do it. At no point did I say maybe this is what the plan of God was. May and I was reading the word and I was going to church and I was s I was at prayer meeting and I was praying with the people. But at no point did my heart ever say God protect me. I said, “I want to do it however I want to do it and God just be with me.” I never surrendered to God. I never surrendered to his will, to his way. I never said, “God, this is the father that you have for me.” I never said, “God, I should be grateful that my mother didn’t do it. I should be grateful that my mom sent me. I should be grateful.” No, I just wanted to do what I want to do. And God is saying, “Do me a huge favor. I’m not with you just to protect you. I’m not with you just to guard you. I’m not just with you to keep you safe. I am with you to guide you. And some of you don’t mind God guarding you, but you don’t want to be guided by God. You want to spend your money however you want. Oh, come on. Am I talking to anybody? You want to pray that the Lord bless you, but you get to decide how you spend it. You got a gift and you want to blow up, but you get to decide. You’re all right with God guarding you, but not guiding you. No, no, no. I just want you to stop because that next level you’re trying to get to, that next level is not going to come without God’s guidance. It’s not going to come without God being your advisor. Huh? Oh, you’re not hearing what I’m saying. I’m So, I was just Dee and I just uh left vacation and I I came to Dee, I don’t know, maybe a month or two ago. I was like, “Hey, D, you need like you’re doing this, you need doing this, you’re doing this, you’re doing it, you need to take a break.” And she’s like, “Oh, no. I’m good on taking a break. We need to work.” And I was like, “All right, praise God. Let’s go.” You know what I’m saying? That’s that’s what you own. Praise God. I don’t know what happened, but she was like, “Hey, remember that vacation you said?” I was like, “Boo, I promise you I don’t mean no harm. I I want I’m here to guide. I don’t mean no harm.” And I and I understand why maybe me guiding you at this point in your life, you a little nervous. Amen. Because there are times in the past where where I I didn’t protect you in the way I should have protected you or I didn’t make the greatest decisions and so I can get. So listen to me, saints. Let’s just be 1,00. I feel you. like there there are some legitimate reasons why you could potentially not uh uh h accept your covering. I get that, right? But what I’m trying to tell you is when you look at uh uh Exodus 20, there is no out for when God says, “Honor your mother and father.” No, no, no, no, no, no. I feel you. I promise you. I was homeless because I was like, “This person did this and this person didn’t do that and this person and I wouldn’t even been here if this person would have and if they would have been more mature and they would have I wouldn’t have and I wouldn’t.” God says, “Son, you have you don’t you can’t rationale my will. When I guide you, you cannot tell me why you not going to let me guide you.” So, I’m trying to help somebody like I get it. Humans are humans and humans be doing human stuff. And you like, I don’t trust this person because this person, I don’t trust that because of that. Listen to me very closely. If you’re going to let God guard you, you got to let him guide you. I just need you to let me cover you.” And then we get upset when our money ain’t right, relationships ain’t right, health ain’t right, stuff ain’t right, and God says, “I never told you to eat Cheeto puff, son.” Praise God. No, you laughing. I’m not laughing. God said, “I never told you to eat that stuff. I I love you so much that in in in in in Genesis I told you what to eat. I I I I I went into 2025 and I saw the stuff that they was to die and I saw the stuff there and I saw the cancer and so in Genesis I put everything you supposed to eat and what you’re not supposed to eat. Lord, if it’s five, God said, “Get up out of there.” And the angels urged Lot. Why did he had to urge him? Cuz Lot didn’t want to leave. Because Lot’s wife didn’t want to leave. And that’s why she got turned into a pillar of salt. They did not want to leave that evil place. We serve a God that’s so good that if you’re marked, if you are marked, if you are called by God, if you are marked, it don’t matter what happened in your life. It don’t matter what you’re going through. If you are marked, if God has a calling on your life, if God has given you a gift, if God wants to use you, I don’t care if you want to be used, you don’t want to be used. I don’t care if you want to stay and you don’t want to leave. I don’t care when you are marked. I’m telling you from personal experience. All I ever wanted to do was get my GED and go to Oakwood and follow DD. And God says, I don’t care what you want to do. I have marked you. I have called you. I have anointed you. I put a gift on your life. And I am going to use that gift whether you like it or not. Care about your life but me. You don’t even care about your life, son. Hallelujah. Saying hurry, hurry, hurry. Us, he said, "Go, angel, go get them for me." You said, "Hurry up. Get your wife, get your two daughters, and let's get out of here, or you will be swept away from the city and punished." Can I'm asking you to do me a favor? Number two, I want you to pray not just the covering of God, but I want you to pray the covering of angels; that when you get somewhere you ain't got no business being, that the angels would come get you. Pray that prayer. I want you to pray that prayer. No, I want you to pray that prayer, because some of you are in environments, Amen, that that that that you ain't spiritual enough to be there. I want you to ask the angels not to just grab you, but grab everything that's important to you and pull you out even when you don't want to get out. Yeah, he got some people that he helped and they like when you need help, we now call it what you want to call it, but there are some people that he blessed and he put in position and now when he needs something, I'm saying they're doing it in the carnal realm. Go get all your family and come down." Shh. Listen to me as we close. Joshua said, "I will cover whoever covered you." Joshua said to Rahab and her family, "Because you covered my men, because you covered, I'm going to cover you because you covered them and you covered the mission."

So, I'll ask you again, are you in a season of your life that you need to be covered? Because if you need to be covered, you need to pray and ask God to help you to receive the covering. My wife just had a conversation with somebody. Somebody called. My wife had a conversation. I was just like, my, I reached back out. My wife was like, "Don't reach out to them. Don't call them. Don't say nothing to them." I was like, "Boo, I got to say something to him." She's like, "Mm, we're not trying to control people." And I just called a person and said, "Listen to me very closely. I'm not trying to tell you what to do, but, but, but Dee was trying to cover you and you missed it. You missed the covering. You, you, you she told you what she thought was the best-case scenario and you didn't follow it. You wanted to go with what was in your heart instead of what was going with the covering. And I'm not telling you anything bad is going to happen to you, but I'm trying to tell you that was your moment to receive covering. And you didn't take it. And Joshua said to the two men who had spied out the land, "Go into the prostitute's house. Bring her out and all who belong to her in accordance with the oath." H. And so the young men who had done the spying went in and brought out Rahab, her father, her mother, her brothers, her sisters, and all who belong to her. There are those of you in the room, you like, "Yep, I bro all of that." I ain't even at a point where I receive covering at this point and I need to start, I need to get covering. It's biblical. It don't got nothing to do with me. I told you my, my pastor, Pastor Doggy, called me just yesterday like, "E, I need you." I said, "What do you need, pastor?" I got something that I can't do on my own. I, I need you. I need your, I need a rep, I need your reputation. I need your credibility. I need you to do this for me." I'm talking about I was on a plane like...Chad GBT. Fix that. Fix that. Fix that. Get that on. Lip pastor. Got it. You'll have it today. Are y'all hearing what I'm saying? I got a chance to cover somebody who covered my marriage. I got somebody who covered my children. I got somebody who let me sit under their ministry and learn how to preach anytime. I got...Y'all know I don't even do funerals. Pastor PC Willis, they called me. His son called me. Dad's in the hospital with stomach cancer. We don't know how long he's got. I was in Chicago at the veterans hospital and his wife said, "When you came," he stood up. He was the strongest he had ever been. I promise y'all it didn't even seem like he had cancer. He died shortly after. Shh. I was at the funeral. I...All the people that kicked me out of Bethel were all sitting up on the...Everybody was sitting right there and I, my, my, I don't care who's up there. My pastor, who baptized me at 17 years old, who put me at Oakwood, who put me with Dee, I honor you. Whatever I...There are those of you, listen to me. It ain't your fault. I was homeless. I get it. You weren't covered or you didn't feel like your covering was your cover. I get it. But now we've got to get back in alignment. Amen. Now we've got to know that all things work together for the good. So, you're out there and you're like, "Yeah, I got a problem receiving covering. I want to, I want to, I, I have a rebellious spirit and I need to get my covering." You're coming right now. We're just going to pray. Don't, don't take a long time. Praise God. Don't, don't take a long time. Praise God. I see you. Yep. I need to, my, I just, I'm rebellious. I just, I ain't about covering. And then whoever your mentor is, your spiritual leader, whoever that is, three, you like, "God, I just need to, I need to, I need, I need that covering." Hallelujah. Amen. When I saw Pastor text, I was like, "What do you need?" Super excited. You covered me, Preston, in my marriage. You covered me, Jean. Y'all covered us. Y'all taught us. You taught us stuff that I didn't know. Stuff that I had never read coming up. I got, I didn't grow up necessarily in a spiritual, uh, marriage. You showed me some stuff. You took me to the next level. Two, God's calling you. You, you need to receive the covering. You're coming right now. You need to receive the covering. Praise God. You need to receive the covering. One, God is calling you. I'm just, I got a stubborn spirit. You're coming right now. I need to, I, I need your covering, God. I want to accept. I want your, I want the guide and I want the guidance. I don't just want one. I want both. Then I need some of that other stuff, God. Hallelujah. I need some of that Rahab covering. I need some of that Jonathan covering. I need some of that angel covering. And you already know, Lord, I need that divine covering. You're coming one. God's calling quickly. Please come quickly. Come on. Come on. Let's, let's get it fixed right now. You don't got to keep walking in that demonic spirit. I was in it for years. Hallelujah. Amen. I think I heard my wife say, "Yeah." Praise God. Hallelujah. I was in it. I was in that rebellious spirit. And I promise you, it didn't take me nowhere good. And God's calling you. Now, now my second, my second appeal, God's calling you that you need to start covering now. You've gotten so entitled, so spoiled that the people that once covered you, who may not be in a position to cover you anymore, you're so spoiled that you're getting offended instead of covering. God is calling you. You're coming right now quickly. You've been called to cover in this season. You're coming. Five. God's calling you. You've been, you've been called to cover in this season, not to be covered. God is calling you. Hallelujah. Four, God is calling you. You have been called to cover in this season. Hallelujah. Father, we come now in the name of Jesus. And we thank you for biblical covering. It's in the word, from Rahab to Jonathan to Lot to you covering the Israelites. Lord, a pillar of fire at night, cloud by day. Lord, you covered in the name of Jesus. Lord, you cover and we want to just, we want to rest in your covering. We want to rest in your, your will and your way. Lord, we want to rest. And so, bless us, Lord. I don't know what happened. I know what happened to me. I don't know what happened to everybody who's here, but you know, we're asking, Lord, to help us to go back to the childhood. Fix that. Correct that. Lord, I was wrong as a 12-year-old. I should have never responded like that. I should have submitted to my mother's plan. I, I should have surrendered to my mother's plan, Lord. She had a plan that was, that was best for both of us. I didn't surrender. I became rebellious, Lord, and began to fight my own covering. Walked away from my own covering and put myself in a dangerous situation. But oh hallelujah, Lord, even when we walk away from our parents' covering, you cover us. And I thank you for your mercy and for your grace. And I'm asking the same way you created within me a clean heart and renewed the right spirit. How you showed me the errors of my ways. How you showed me my rebellion. How you showed me the consequences. How you showed me my heart was a heart of stone and not a stone of flesh, but you made it into...with the right mentors and the right covering, Lord. You, you, you, you, you shifted the atmosphere for me. You changed things for me. And so now, Lord, I'm able to be a covering. Hallelujah. But there are times in my life, Lord, because I'm a sinner that I need to be covered. And so, Father, we ask in the name of Jesus Christ that you would just bless this season. If it's a season of getting covered, if it's a season of covering, whatever that season is, we would embrace it and we would align ourselves with your divine plan. Forgive us for our sins. Forgive us for our shortcomings, Lord. And the things, Lord, that have been broken because we were not in alignment, fix it. Whether it's relationships, Lord, whether it's finances, whatever it is, Lord, fix it. And we will be so careful to give you all praise, all honor, and all glory. We thank you for your mercy. We thank you for your grace. And we thank you, Lord, that because we've humbled ourselves before you today, everything is getting ready to change. Everything is getting ready to turn around and we praise you for it as we ask for forgiveness of sin in Jesus' precious name. Amen. Amen. Amen. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on.
