Hello everybody. Today's video is a room tour, and it's of my first-year accommodation at Trinity Hall. This is where I was meant to spend my year, but because of COVID, they moved us all out in second term. We were either at home, or if we were not at home and we're at uni, we were all shipped up to the Witchfield site, which is where I will hopefully be living in second year. Um, but I'm back now in my room at central site, so I thought I'd show you guys what it's like, how I decorated it. It did feature in my first YouTube video, but, um, I've changed things a little bit since then, added some bits and bobs, um, and it really does feel like my home now. So, yeah, I wanted to share it with you guys. So let's get to the room tour.
Okay, well, this is the door. Just before we go in, it's kind of like, not in a great way, but I promise it's not my fault. I don't know how it got like this, but yeah, it's not my fault. Anyway, so normally we would tap cam card and then you can like unlock it, um, but mine is already unlocked. So, cool. Let's go in.
Okay, cool. So welcome to my room.

Okay, so, yeah, you guys have it. Um, you might have seen in one of my other videos, this is the view out of this window. So we have King's Chapel, Clare College is like their chapel's there, and then we have like the Old Schools building and Gonville & Caius Library is in there. Um, so that's that window. And then on this side, I have two windows. I have got both of them have a view onto the front of the college. So, um, oh, there's some people. That's exciting. Okay, it's really quiet at college at the moment. There's like no one here. So when there's people, that is quite exciting. Um, the Porter's Lodge is out that window there, just, um, through that little gateway.
And this is my desk setup.
[Music]
So here we go. I was showing my desk. So I got my laptop, my monitor. I only put my lectures on the monitor and like make my notes on the laptop. Um, my planner, water bottle, like standard stuff. Um, and then my beanies collection because although I drink decaf, um, I do treat myself to beanies occasionally. The mint chocolate one there is decaf, and so is the almond one, the almond amaretto. I love that one. Um, but yeah, there's quite a few. I do really like them. At the moment, I've got this one on the go, the cherry chocolate, and also because it was just Easter, we've also got this one here, hot cross bun. Um, they're kind of a bit pricey, I'd say, um, so they're a bit of a treat as well, but because I tend to watch my money, but yeah, I'll splash out on the beanies.
Then I have my little plants. Um, I got these really cool like iridescent, um, glasses. They're actually from my granddad's house, but he doesn't use them, so I thought he'd bring them to uni with me. Um, hopefully I'll use them this time if people come back. And then I have my cafeteria there, um, coffee. And oh, there's a radiator, which is good for keeping your feet warm. Um, my drawers are full of like just bits and bobs, um, like standard stationery. And then we have an electric heater here because although the radiator is good, um, it doesn't heat up like the whole room very well. So this little heater, you can move around, which is quite handy.
So I've got these two window seats here, and they're like little boxes, and actually you can keep things in them. So I think I have all of the boxes I used for like moving into uni are kept in these little, little window seats here. Um, and then I have got on this side of the room a lovely chair and a sofa, which I've covered with blankets because they're kind of a funky like green velvet. You can kind of see here like the grey, this one was kind of a grey-green, um, so I covered them up to match kind of my, my room. And then I've got my towel on the coffee table. They're drying. These are some fake candles, but they do the job. They're actually quite cool. And, um, I just got more families, but they're, they're quite good, um, if you, you're not allowed candles, so you can have these as an alternative. I've got my diffuser there. And then my lovely friend Lauren, who lives next door, she got me these ones and these oils for the diffuser, and I love them so much. Um, my mom, she got me this lovely bunting which I put up. And then I've got some anatomy posters, some pictures from holiday, and then some of the pictures from Lent term, which was quite good fun. So, um, I put all that up as a nice reminder of good times I've had at uni.
And then, um, just to show you one floor, I've got a little rug here and another map there.

This is obviously the fireplace. Um, here I have some fairy lights. I have my mirror, my favorite cactus, who is pretty aged now. He's about eight years old. Um, I have him since he was seven. So if he dies on me, I'll be very sad. And then I have some really sad-looking carnations in these, um, bottles. I actually got the idea from one of the other YouTubers, um, at Trinity Hall, Hannah. She's so lovely. I will link her YouTube channel below. So that's the fireplace.
And then here's my bed where I spend a lot of my time sleeping, mostly. It's, it's quite comfortable, but I am one of these people that loves covering everything with too many pillows. So I have like a ton, but it makes it look more comfortable and also covers up the wall because I don't know if you guys have spotted, but it's got some, some pretty big chunks missing from it. So the pillows cover up all of these little damages. And again, I have some fairy. These are like fairy light clips. They kind of need the batteries replacing, but, um, again, which are quite cute. So, yeah, that's the bed area.
And then finally, I have my, quite finally, but here I have my chest of drawers with my clothes in it. More clothes in this one, and like my fruit and, um, Polaroid camera. My, um, okay, so this story behind these. So I've got one on this wall and one on that wall, and basically there's big, big, big, um, Blu-Tack issues on the wall. So I've covered them up using this like massive thing I made. Um, from about two years ago, I had a subscription to the New Scientist magazine and I kept all of the front covers and stuck them together and then made this big collage and just plastered it over the wall. If I had more, I would have done it up here as well, but sadly that was not to be.
And then, um, we have my keyboard, which is really old and, um, quite short. So I actually can't play, um, often one of the notes in the pieces I'm doing because it's too short. But never mind, that's besides the point. It's for a bit of fun. It's quite entertaining and it has like loads of different settings on it. So let me see if I can put the organ one on. Um, the organ is number, okay, let's do, let's do rock organ. So that's number ten.
[Music]
Lovely. Very cool. Right, okay. Okay. So these are some very, very tall wardrobes, but the only one of them is actually a wardrobe, and it's this one, and it has my clothes in it. There we go. Um, my laundry basket is hiding somewhere there, and my uni essential, um, dressing up hat. Um, and then in this one is quite a lot of stuff, but this one is my full sink. So, and on my shoes and various bits and bobs and my towel and my skeleton. Yes, I have a medical skeleton for teaching purposes in my wardrobe. Um, so, yeah, there we go.
That's pretty much my room. I hope you guys found that kind of interesting. I don't really know, um, but, yeah. So this is where I spend most of my day at the moment. Um, so I thought, you know, may as well make it look nice if I'm going to be here all the time. Um, again, this, this big gap on the wall here is a bit annoying. I do need to sort that out, but mostly, you know, it's, it does the job and I really like it and I'm so lucky to have it and to have the amazing view out of the window and, um, the super high ceiling and the space I can run around and do exercise in here. I've got a yoga mat hiding behind the sofa and it comes out occasionally. So it, it's a really good room and I'm really lucky. And I am going to miss it next year. Um, I'm very pleased to be back here this term. So I just hope I can see the others and they can all come back and we can spend some more time in here, um, together as a staircase. But, yeah, I hope you guys enjoyed that. I hope you found it useful and maybe, who knows, some of you will take inspiration from it and maybe the person that's going to have my room next year will see this video and think, oh gosh, I can't believe she decorated it like that. It's so ugly, but, um, I like it. So that's, that's my room at uni, and I will see you guys next time. Bye.
