Hey guys, Dr. Morris, injury experts. So, a ton of injuries this week, a bunch of teams on buy, several teams on buy next week. So, some guys' teams are being a little bit more aggressive on the front half.
So, heading into the week, we know that Jaden Daniels is out. He should be back next week with his hamstring. Bryce Young has not practiced the entire week. He suffered a high ankle sprain. They already initially said earlier in the week that uh Andy Dalton was likely to start. They signed Mike White, but a lot of the Panthers fans were super adamant that he was going to play. I don't think he's going to play. They've pretty much said Andy Dalton's going to start and and they're they're doubtful that Bryce Young is going to play. And remember that he hasn't practiced at all. Uh and they're playing Buffalo. Pretty good game. He's been decent this year. Not amazing, but better than he's been. So, there's progress.
Michael Penix is dealing with a bone bruise in his knee or probably uh maybe the proximal aspect of the tibia, the bottom part of the knee. So, he'll be okay. He won't be super mobile, but I think he plays. Jackson Dart will be fine with his ankle. Tyrod Taylor is probably going to start, although he does have a knee sprain. Um I I just don't think they can realistically go forward with with uh Justin Fields.
Um, we will Mason Taylor, for what it's worth, has a quad injury and he's probably going to play. My guess is it's more of a quad bruise than a quad strain. But if it is a quad strain, he's very risky. I'm not sure I can completely trust him this week, but you might not have much of a choice. Um, Lamar Jackson, a game time decision. Could potentially play this week, but remember, I'm pretty sure they play next Thursday night. Uh, so it would be a short week. So I would not be surprised if they held them out on on this week, but they really can't afford to to lose any more games.
Um, Kyler Murray's on a buy. M. Jones is likely to start with Brock Purdy still semi-limited. Last night we saw Carson Wentz looked not very good and then had a significant left shoulder injury. It he had a classic brace on for what looks like a shoulder dislocation. Surprising that they still allowed him to play and start at some point in time. Max Borcherds was considering starting, but remember that JJ McCarthy has actually been medically cleared since last week. Uh they just don't want him to play. So that's a separate discussion. They literally, you know, trotted out a hobbled Carson Wentz over a quote unquote healthy JJ McCarthy. Uh either way, it led to a loss.
Uh Baker Mayfield would be fine. Breece Hall dealing with a knee sprain. It's really hard to trust anyone on this Jets team. I think he plays, but it's a little hard to trust him. Kendra Miller, unfortunately, tore his ACL last week, obviously done for the year. Devin Neal is a sneaky rookie that you could potentially consider picking up, and he's probably going to get the majority of the rushing work uh because Kamara isn't just the best rusher anymore. Kareem Hunt looks like a high ankle sprain. I do not expect him to play this week. Brashad Smith dealing with a probably super mild turf toe and he will be fine. Hassan Haskins missed last night.
Kamanu Vidal looked absolutely bananas and incredible. Another important piece, Amari Cooper was on the sidelines in a boot still. That tells me he's probably at least three to four plus weeks away. They have a buy in week 12. So I don't think we see him in Hampton probably until week 13. So Kamanu Vidal is the answer right now. Uh I was big high on him last year. Didn't pan out, but it looks like he uh ended up doing pretty well. Roschon Johnson is out.
Um Tyler Allgeier is likely to play with a probably hip flexor and a mild D-sprain. Uh but we'll see uh Bijan be the beast he usually is. Uh Aaron Jones did okay. Uh he returned in week uh eight. And DeAndre Swift is a game time decision. I think he plays uh he's been pretty good the past couple of weeks. So if he's active, I think you should play him. They've just been banged up with a groin strain. Uh Josh Jacobs uh should be fine with his his calf injury. Alvin Kamara with his ankle is fine. Chris Rodriguez is fine with his calf. Bucky Irving probably uh is still at least a week or two away with his shoulder dislocation, left shoulder, not really worried about his foot. Chuba Hubbard uh will be fine, although he's probably on the short side of the platoon. Tyrone Tracy basically same thing. He is coming back from his shoulder dislocation.
Heading into wide receivers, unfortunately uh from a fantasy purpose, Mike Evans' season is over. He lost his beautiful streak of thousand plus yards at 11 seasons uh tying the great Jerry Rice. Uh he also suffered a concussion and he suffered a clavicle fracture probably because he couldn't stop the energy and the guy was on on the back of him and he rammed his shoulder into the turf. Fractured the shoulder takes six to eight weeks.
Brian Thomas has a history of a right I think it's right shoulder dislocation and he grimaced while injuring his right shoulder. Um, with that being said, they have a buy, so they're not going to tell us a whole lot of information. Let's hope it's on the milder side. AJ Brown ruled out with a hamstring strain. They have a buy next week. Did not practice at all this week. Uh, maybe he's on the trade block. I don't know. Nico Collins out this week with a concussion, just a short week because they played late Monday night. Uh, and the turnaround is tough. You have to everything has to go perfect and unfortunately it didn't. Uh, Jaylen Waddle dealing with a hamstring strain, but he will he will likely play. Not sure I completely trust him, but he will play. Chris Olave is good with his ankle. Not overly concerning. Wouldn't be surprised if he got traded as well. Curtis Samuel not really super relevant, but he will probably play. He's a game time decision whereas Josh Palmer is out with his left ankle sprain. Dontayvion Wicks out with his calf injury. Puka Nacua should be back after the buy with his foot injury.
Michael Wilson must have suffered a really really lucky mild mild mild tweak last week or two weeks ago. Played last week, did really well, although he got missed a bunch of times and will be pretty much the only healthy wide receiver because Chris Godwin suffered a reinjury to that left ankle from his post-surgical ankle and I don't know if he comes back soon and if he comes back this year probably not really relevant, at least trustworthy in my opinion. DJ Moore dealing with a groin injury, but I think he plays as he usually does. Garrett Wilson is out. Stefon Diggs is in with a rib injury, although he'll be should be pretty good. Should bounce back uh because they're playing Cleveland and they have a tough rush defense, so they're probably going to throw the ball a ton.
Don Josh Downs clears his concussion protocol. He'll be back. Jerry Jeudy, on the other hand, is a game time decision. Probably going to play with a knee injury, although I don't completely trust him either. Um, Jakobi Myers is on a buy, could potentially return this week, next week, but also may be on the trade block. Uh, Calvin Ridley out again with his hamstring strain. Zay Flowers comes back with his mild shoulder injury, not overly concerning. Jauan Jennings has both a high ankle, a mild or low ankle as well as uh five rib fractures and he's still going to play. Impressive.
On the other hand, Ricky Pearsall is out continually out with his um PCL reinjury and as a result, he's going to be the primary with Kendrick Bourne uh similar to basically what we saw last week. Um as far as Darius Slayton, he'll be back from his his calf hamstring strain. Although he's at increased risk, he could return to that kind of the depth role with Wan'Dale Robinson kind of serving as that middle to intermediate role. Uh CeeDee Lamb will be good. It should be better than last week. The Commanders will get back both Deebo Samuel and Terry McLaurin this week. Unfortunately, they don't have Jayden Daniels, but Marcus Mariota at least has a full arsenal of weapons uh for a game they're probably going to lose.
Uh Darnell Mooney will be healthier with his hamstring strain. It's important to understand Drake London has a mild hip, but he'll be fine. Um, it's important to understand that Darnell Mooney is the alpha here. When they're both on the field, I know it sounds silly, but if you follow my buddy Scott Barrett, you will see the data. It is clear. When London is by himself, he is the super alpha. When they're both on the field, Mooney actually gets more targets and more yards. So, there's something about that dynamic. If London and Mooney are both active, be careful with your expectations for London.
Uh Xavier Worthy still risky, but he'll be playing. Deebo Samuel, as I said, he's back. Jonathan Mingo probably going to make his debut for the Cowboys after he had a bad PCL sprain. We may see the return and the debut of Christian Watson coming back from that ACL tear for the Packers. Uh we saw Matthew Golden with I think a mild hip injury. He'll be fine. Not overly concerning. It'll be interesting to see how they use these guys because Jaden Reed is out with his uh clavicle fracture. We said John Mims out with his calf strain. So they basically have Romeo Doubs. They have Matthew Golden. And now they'll have Christian Watson.
Um, and obviously the the the tight ends in terms of Christian Kirk, he is also out with his hamstring, either reinjury or new injury. And then Jaylen Coker should be better than he was last week, which means he because he didn't do anything. Uh, Calvin Austin actually returning for the Steelers. And Noah Brown is uh on IR for the Commanders.
Heading into tight ends, uh, Darren Waller uh season may be over at least for a month, just depending on how they do. He has probably a pec tear or a partial tear. Usually, it's where they attach over here. Um, we saw who could be the second coming of Darren Waller, at least from a body type and a and a player profile perspective, Dalton Kincaid last night who looks fantastic and actually smashed in a bunch of my leagues for me. Uh, he is a top five as of right now tight end going forward. Uh, Dallas Goedert tweaked his calf, but he'll be fine. Dalton Schultz back and shoulder, although he'll probably also be fine. Cole Kmet is out this week. I think this is the first ever game he's missed if I remember correctly with a back injury and he uh will see and maybe we'll get a little bump up in Cole Kmet. Uh, Juwan Johnson with a neck injury, but I think he plays along with Daniel Bellinger similar injury. David Njoku with a knee injury. Uh probably a knee sprain. Uh similar to last week, we don't have specifics. I think he probably plays although you have to be a little careful with him. Dalton Kincaid a risky play with an oblique injury. These take um decent amount of time. They are coming off a buy, so there's a chance he returns. Not sure I completely trust him. Uh but I I think he's leaning more towards playing than sitting, but we they're not always the clearest on that team. George Kittle didn't do a damn thing last week in his debut, at least from a receiving perspective. But Christian McCaffrey's rushing totals were significantly better, and that will continue because Kittle is a fantastic blocker. Uh hopefully he gets the ball this week from a receiving perspective, but from a betting perspective, limit your expectations on Kittle until we see differently. Brock Bowers should be ready to return after the buy from his PCL sprain. Uh and John Tavian Sanders is still ramping up from his high ankle sprain. Maybe he gets a little bit of love this week.
Tons of injuries. I did a bunch of individual videos if you want them. Uh this is the uh Thursday morning wrap-up and we will uh record a late night Sunday night injury kind of uh summary so to speak for all the new injuries from week eight. I hope you're doing well with your betting. I hope you're doing well with your fantasy. Uh and I hope your team is doing well. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, I'd love to help. Thank you for tuning in. We will see you in a couple.
