My name is Zach with Ergo Styling Tools, and in this video, I'm going to show you how to properly clean your round brush. Here we have two of our Ergo round brushes, a gentle and a classic. They are full of hair. So first, I want to show you guys how to get your hair out. Don't go taking your comb and scraping at this barrel. Don't take a metal rake or scrape or anything like that, because there's a ceramic coating on your barrel. That ceramic coating is very important to evenly distribute the heat, so you don't go burning your hair or damaging your round brush. Plus, this purple is super cute, so we don't want to scrape it off.
What we can do is take a towel. Here I have a towel. I'm going to actually dip it in my warm soapy water already, because you want it to be damp. I'm going to take my towel, grab my round brush, and I'm going to pinch and pull. Pinch and pull. And one more time, because I saw one last hair there and one little baby one. Boom! All the hair is out. Super easy. The flexible bristles really let go of the hair. If you find that your bristles are a little stiffer with the classics, be sure to warm your brush up with your dryer first, maybe 10-15 seconds. It'll really loosen up the bristles.
Now that I have all the hair out of here, though, I want to go ahead and get all the product buildup off. So what I did here is I have warm soapy water. We're going to take our brush, we're going to insert it in the warm soapy water, make sure it's fully submerged, and we're going to let it sit there for about three to five minutes. Now, the soap, that's your choice. We just used some basic dish soap. You can use an anti-microbial soap, anything that's really going to break up that material that's left on your brush, so you can make sure it comes out sparkly clean.
Five minutes later, I'm going to go ahead and take it out, shake my brush off. I'm going to get a new clean towel right here, and what I'm just going to do is just the same thing, pinch and pull. Make sure I'm getting off any excess hair, drying off my brush. Super, super simple. Now, here, my, I'm not hair, water might get caught inside the barrel there, or you might find that there's still a little soapy residue. Go ahead and just rinse your brush off, and then take your blow dryer to it, dry it off, and boom! Just like that, all the debris, all the hair, all the buildup out of your brush. Super clean, and you've preserved the ceramic coating of your barrel. Perfect. Now you know how to clean an Ergo round brush.
